Nice concept with Prodigy and Jack Hood. I'll be interested to see who gets picked and how they do.
Franco going for a DQ for more than 5 seconds on the top rope? No wonder the ref blew him off!

POW Dividing Lines at Tau Ceti Arena
-- The arena was packed and raucous, impressive considering that tonight's event was purely the draft to kick off Faustus Grael's "Power Struggle". -- President Prodigy and Jack Hood stood on opposite sides of a large podium behind which stood Grael himself, smiling as always. -- Grael began, "And so, let's get down to business. First and foremost, the following wrestlers will not be participating in Power Struggle, for either personal reasons, title considerations, or by my choice. Those men are: Hadrian, Nero, Quetzal, Talon, Ahnu, Shylock, Gunnar, Cypher, Pendekar, Saboteur, Crucible, and Zed Marlowe."
-- "Let's get to the good stuff now! We flipped a coin backstage, and Jack Hood gets the first choice. Jack, you, my friend, are on the clock."
-- Jack smiled his disturbing smile and nodded. "I'll be pickin' Euritar with me first pick." -- Prodigy rolled his eyes. "Why am I not surprised? That was obvious. Me, I'll pick Mensar."
-- Hood shrugged. "A good choice. I'll be takin' Dante next then." -- "Your men are worthy, but let's see them deal with raw power and size. To accompany Mensar, I will select Rubicon!"
-- The crowd cheered at the naming of Rubicon. Jack chuckled. "Nothin' wrong with power....but speed n' brains aren't t' be trifled with. Brainstorm is me next choice." -- Jack got positive reactions for his first two choices, but the arrogant Brainstorm got thunderous booing. Prodigy smiled broadly, enjoying the reaction. "Former champion Indigo is my next pick."
-- Jack paced the ring a little bit, obviously pondering his next move. "Absalom," he merely replied. -- Prodigy still seemed to be considering the crowd, looked in each direction, then called out, "The President's Team will be joined by Thayne!"
-- Jack Hood seemed unphased by the crowd, but went with a crowd-pleaser anyway...."Jack of Diamonds has done it all in this fed, and methinks he'll do it again by bringin' me team to victory in Power Struggle." -- Prodigy paused, rubbing his chin in thought. He now was the one to pace. -- Grael kept smiling, then finally said, "One pick to go, Prodigy...." -- Prodigy grinned. "So let me just get this straight. I can select anyone on the active wrestling/MMA roster." -- Grael nodded. "Except the ones deemed ineligible, yes." -- "Anyone at all?" -- Grael frowned. "I believe that is now clear, yes, President Prodigy." -- Rolling his eyes, Hood hissed, "Get on with it, ye stallin' rogue." -- "So be it," Prodigy replied, grinning like the Cheshire Cat. "We'll take Jack." -- Brow furrowed quizzically, Grael exclaimed, "He was just selected!" -- Prodigy shook his head. "No, no. Jack of Diamonds was selected. The President's Team is selecting Jack Hood as our fifth and final selection." -- Hood roared, "What? Ye can't...." -- Faustus coughed uncomfortably. "Well, I'm afraid it's a valid pick...." -- "Indeed," quipped Prodigy, "and I know you'd never throw a match, Jack. So while you will be doing your best to win Power Struggle for your Commissioner's Team....when you're in the ring, you'll be helping MY team. Haha!"
-- Faustus Grael shrugged. "Well, I guess that's that. Power Struggle will begin with some select matches, determined by my office, on the next card. First team to 25 wins." -- Jack Hood was thoroughly annoyed, and hissed, "And what is it we win?" -- "TBD, my friend. TBD. Now shake hands, remembering that you two were, are and shall always be allies in the cause of making POW the #1 wrestling and #1 mixed martial arts federation in the entire galaxy. I would have it NO other way." -- Prodigy, still beaming, held out his hand. Hood sneered, hesitated....then shook it and left.

POW The Battle at Tau Ceti Arena
All Matches part of Power Struggle; matches determined randomly
Jack Hood wrestlers Prodigy wrestlers
Wrestling Scoring: Submissions - 3pts Pinfall - 2pts DQ/Count - 1pt
Brainstorm -vs- Thayne -- A great start to Power Struggle, with these two big guns going at it. -- Brainstorm scores a decisive victory over Thayne, much to the crowd's displeasure. Hood's team scores the first victory Brainstorm pins Thayne after SUPERIOR INTELLECT (2 pts for Jack Hood)
Absalom -vs- Jack Hood -- Prodigy certainly made things interesting when he drafted Jack Hood the wrestler to compete against Jack Hood the commissioner! He is banking on Hood's unerring quest for victory in the ring to trump the quest to best the president in Power Struggle. -- Hood got destroyed in this one, though it looked as if he was doing his best. Absalom pins Jack Hood after KILL SWITCH (2 pts for Jack Hood)
Jack of Diamonds -vs- Mensar -- The ever-popular Jack faced the mighty Mensar in yet another David vs. Goliath scenario....and once again, showed just why he's a legend. Jack got rocked early on by the behemoth, but hung in there and took control....culminating in a shocking victory. -- That's three for three for Team Jack! Jack of Diamonds pins Mensar after Jacked Up (2 pts for Jack Hood)
-- Prodigy was shown backstage with Jack Hood. "Nice 'effort' there, Jack. I would have thought you'd put competition and thrill of the battle above all else, but instead....you just laid down for Absalom didn't you?" -- Jack Hood got right up into his face, snarling, " I don't lay down fer anyone. Ye got me best, and I just lost to a better man. End of story. Now get out of me face!"
Euritar -vs- Indigo -- This was the match of the night, with two former champions going back and forth in a truly close one. -- In the end, Euritar rocked Indigo, who was just coming off injury, with his body drop. Euritar pins Indigo after high elevation body drop (2 pts for Jack Hood)
Dante -vs- Rubicon -- Things were going very badly for President Prodigy tonight. He was counting on Rubicon to get him at least one victory tonight....but it wasn't meant to be. Dante was laser sharp tonight, and shocked the giant specimen in an unlikely squash! Dante pins Rubicon after HEAVEN (2 pts for Jack Hood)
-- After the match, Prodigy stormed down, obviously furious and obviously intent on letting Rubicon hear it. Just as he got there, Puma and Dr. Barnabas rushed down right behind him, the latter holding a kendo stick-like weapon. As they reached the ring, he handed it to Puma, who leapt into the ring and began assaulting Rubicon. -- He pummeled the already-downed Rubicon over and over in the head with the stick, as Prodigy protested loudly! -- Even Dante didn't seem cool with the vicious attack, and stepped in, going after the Ani-Man savage! But Puma caught him with the stick and downed him as well. With Dr. Barnabas barking orders and Prodigy threatening serious punishment, Puma busted open Dante....then alternated hitting Dante and Rubicon with the stick. Both men bore crimson masks. -- Puma then turned on Prodigy. "You can already count on a heavy suspension, a heavy fine....stop right now or you can kiss your Heavyweight Wrestling Title good...." -- Puma cut the president off by smashing him over the head with the stick! What a shocking, shocking attack! The crowd was positively stunned. Puma hit Prodigy again....then again....until the president was bloodied as well. -- Dr. Barnabas grabbed Prodigy's fallen microphone and yelled, "Now that we have the undivided attention of this league....I wasn't kidding when I promised we'd be taking over. Puma is not concerned with suspensions or fines, and...heh heh...I highly doubt he will be stripped of his title again. Trust me on that. And Puma -- and I for that matter -- isn't concerned with this cute but unimpressive 'power struggle'. Puma, Hadrian and Nero rule this league. Tonight was but a small taste of that. We're done here." With Prodigy, Dante, and Rubicon unconscious in the ring, Barnabas and Puma stalked off, bringing one of the most shocking events in CPC/POW history to a close.
Power Struggle Standings: Jack Hood - 10pts Prodigy - 0pts

POW UpdateSpecial Report-- POW is reporting that President Prodigy suffered a severe concussion from Puma's shocking attack. He will be recovering for an indefinite length of time. -- Dante and Rubicon suffered slightly less severe concussions and are expected to miss 4-6 fight cards. -- The league has not issued any official statements regarding the vicious assaults. It has been widely anticipated that Faestus Grael himself will make a decision about Dr. Barnabas and Puma's fate. The lack of an announcement itself is puzzling many. -- Commissioner Jack Hood vehemently and curtly dismissed accusations leaked from The President's Office that he was involved in some way in Prodigy's attack. "We had just taken a 10-0 lead in Power Struggle. Why in the blazes would I be doin' a cheap attack like that?" -- On to more positive news. The next MMA-only pay-per-view is almost set. -- Shylock's defense of the MMA Heavyweight Title against Cypher will serve as the sensational Main Event. -- So incredible was their last meeting for the title, that Stigma-Pendekar II has been announced. Can Stigma keep his impressive reign going? -- Gunnar will also be defending his Super Heavyweight title, reportedly against Hanuman. -- By popular demand, we'll see "one more" battle between Dread Knight and Matinee Idol. -- Absalom and Indigo will square off in a 'Power Struggle' match. Can Indigo stop the bleeding and get Prodigy's team a first victory? -- Euritar and Thayne will do battle in a 'Power Struggle' match as well. -- Two more matches are expected to be announced to round out the card.

Shylock/Cypher and Stigma/Pendekar are always worth the price of admission alone. Together, that's a show, baby!
