POW MMA
POW Neptune Night
The Soul of Sol Tour: Stop Eight -- Neptune Arena
-- A raucous group kicked off Neptune Night with thunderous cheers. Commissioner Jack Hood came out and said he had his "Commissioner's Pick" selected for POW Undisputed. The first of the "Stellar Six" that will compete for the Undisputed crown is.....Euritar!
-- The crowd loved the selection, giving Jack Hood a rare ovation outside of the Pleiades. He then added that the second participant would be determined tonight in the main event.
-- "Thayne will take on......Ahnu!" What a huge announcement! The two bitter foes will at last face each other!
Latasha -vs- Rhiannon
-- Rhiannon was announced first....but didn't come out. There was a long, awkward silence. The ring announcer even repeated her name and statistics.
-- After a few minutes, security headed backstage.....to find a bizarre scene in the women's locker room. Latasha, looking as if she officially lost it, was screaming wildly and pounded Rhiannon's head into a locker. The self-proclaimed diva kept yelling, "I was a former GWF champion, d*mmit! A GWF champion!" The security guards pulled a kicking and clawing Latasha off of Rhiannon and dragged her off.
No Match
Hadrian -vs- Silas
-- Hadrian paced like a caged animal in the ring as Silas swaggered down to the ring, swilling a Silasweiser and high-flying about a dozen fans.
-- This one didn't at all go as expected. Silas was all over Hadrian at the bell, dropping him to the mat with a vicious punch. He then got on top of Hadrian and kept working submission moves on him. Hadrian evaded an arm lock, managed to power out of a knee lock, and even worked free from an ankle twist....but then Silas managed a perfect figure four arm lock, and forced the animalistic foe to tap out!
Winner: Silas makes Hadrian SUBMIT to a figure four arm lock
-- Before the next match, Talisman of all people marched right down to the ring and grabbed the announcer's microphone. He's barely been seen since POW started, so it was an unexpected appearance.
-- Talisman snapped in his usual fiery, fanatical manner, " The more things change, the more they stay the same! POW....CPC....it doesn't matter. Prell....Prodigy....Hood.....it doesn't matter. The big names always get favored. Euritar is a failed former champion, yet he gets a free pass straight into POW Undisputed? Elitists! Infidels! Interlopers! What about T.K.? All he's done is win. He is the greatest MMA fighter in this federation, yet he's not so much as a consideration for this event! Outrage! Discrimination! Intolerance! Euritar -- if you are the warrior you claim to be, then I dare you to battle T.K. I dare you to face the True Way of Life, instead of carrying on with your luxurious, pampered ways.....I dare you...."
-- Talisman went on for several more minutes until the commissioner sent security down to remove him, which of course outraged him even more.
Indigo -vs- Jack of Diamonds
-- This one was lopsided. The younger, hungrier Indigo controlled this one mostly clinching and working Jack into the ropes. Jack kept trying to get Indigo to the mat, but the Mizar native stayed on his game. A keylock ended this one abruptly.
Winner: Indigo makes Jack SUBMIT to a keylock
Zed Marlowe -vs- Brainstorm
-- The supremely-smug Brainstorm dragged out the pre-bell preparations by taking his sweet time "prepping". Twice he made the officials check Marlowe's gloves.
-- Finally, this one started....and everyone got to see that Brainstorm may be obnoxious, but he IS brilliant. The delay frustrated Marlowe so much that he sloppily launched a striking onslaught that Brainstorm was largely able to block. He downed Marlowe with a vicious kick, then pounced and wrenched on Marlowe's arm so viciously it looked as if it was going to pop out of its socket. Marlowe tried in vain to escape and was forced to tap out.
Winner: Brainstorm makes Marlowe SUBMIT to an arm bar
MAIN EVENT -- Winner Enters POW Undisputed
Thayne -vs- Ahnu
-- The crowd really was stoked for this one, with two hated enemies at last getting in the ring to battle. Thayne, always intense, was a whirlwind at the bell. He charged Ahnu and rained down fists and kicks, rocking Ahnu several times! This one seemed headed for a quick end!
-- However, so fired up at getting his hands on his foe, Thayne made a critical mistake. He went for a flying knee but missed badly and stumbled to the mat. Ahnu was on him immediately, getting Thayne into a vice-like keylock from which there was no escape. Thayne yelled in frustration and agony and refused to tap out, but could do nothing. Finally, the ref stopped the fight to save Thayne from injury.
-- Ahnu gets the honor of being one of the Stellar Six for POW Undisputed! He wisely got out of the ring after the match before Thayne could get at him.
Winner: Ahnu makes Thayne SUBMIT to a keylock
