Really hoping my beloved Liverpool FC defeat Flamengo for the Club World Cup on Saturday. and that they did...took a bit longer then the normal time, but got the Win. They have won the European Cup, European Super Cup and Club World Cup all in 2019. What a great year to be a Liverpool FC fan!

So, a month into MLS season 27 and two things are clear: 1) Philly is real good. 2) in the west it's the 2 LA teams, the 3 Texas teams, and then everyone else in that order.

Two big upsets in the US Open Cup last night. MLS sides Columbus and Chicago lost to USL Champions league team Detroit and USL1 Omaha respectively. The other MLS sides, Dallas, Houston, Cincinnati, Miami, DC, San Jose, and LA Galaxy, handled their business and advanced to the next round. San Jose looked particularly good, all be it against the lowest tier of opponents, but they had five different goal scorers in their win over Bay Cities, impressive considering they just lost their head coach. Tonight's slate of games have a couple of potential "cupsets" that are blinking red, like Charlotte at Greenville and Orlando at Tampa. ESPN+ will be carrying LAFC Vs Orange County, which should be entertaining.
