THANK YOU. That was a wonderful video. Sadly, I must admit I've always been a Lions fan but gave up after 2001 and didn't watch another full game until the end of 2010 (when the rumblings began that they were doing decent again). Therefore, I never saw that inspirational Stafford performance against the Browns or the moments where he and Suh were drafted so thanks for those. It really helped to piece the whole thing together.

Now I'm more hardcore Lions than ever (even during the Sanders years) So hoping they stick it to SF on Sunday. It won't be easy, but not impossible.

Went to Ford Field for my first ever NFL game today. Too bad my Lions played like crap. It was still a lot of fun being there though amongst my own kind all decked out in the blue and silver!

3 losses in a row. Ugh. Schwartz needs to lay the smack down on his boys!

The Lions are in big trouble. I didn't have time for a week 4 thread (that and no one else seems to care lol) but if I had, the Lions would have been my top Biggest loser.

The Lions are now 6-11 in their past 17 games (including the playoff L to the Saints) since starting the 2011 season 5-0. That's bad. Really alarming. The worst part is, I can't tell what the problem is. My working theory is that the Lions were riding high on the emotion of Suh and ever since Roger Goodell neutered him and took his balls, he and the rest of the team have played without any fire, without any edge or any rage. They used to have a chip on their shoulder and now they don't. They've complete lost their edge. This started during Suh's rookie year and collapsed on him after the stomp last year. Suh's brain in broken. Goodell got in his head and I honestly wonder if the guy cares about playing football in *this* NFL anymore. That's what I see. He used to be a destroyer (played that way in college and during his rookie year) and hasn't played that way since Goodell smashed him.

What else is wrong? Obviously they need corners, safties and offensive linemen. They need a running game. For all the 1st and 2nd round picks this regime has used on offense (7!!!; Stafford, Pettigrew, Best, Leshoure, Titus Young, Ryan Broyles, Riley Reiff) the offense is not working at all.

Disaster. The problems on this team go beyond their talent level. Is it coaching? I love Schwartz but find myself questioning the OC and DC every week. I realize when the Lions got rid of Millen, they had no chance to sign strong OC and DC, but now I think a gig on either side of the ball would be ultra-attractive job position for anyone. Might be time to start looking.

Two drafts ago the Lions tried desperately to trade up to no.5 and take CB Patrick Peterson from LSU. The deal with AZ did not get done due to what was reported "too high of an asking price by AZ". AZ took Peterson at 5 and the Lions snagged Fairly at 12.

2 seasons later, 4-0 AZ has a top 3 defense in large part to Peterson, and he is the best return man in the league. Meanwhile, Nick Fairly has not done much for the 1-3 Lions other than get hurt on the field, and get in trouble off of it. The Lions also have the worst special teams in the NFL by a wide margin.

Not sure what AZ was "asking", but it looks like whatever it was the Lions should have handed it over.

Oh what could have been if Mayhew had landed that trade.
