Ole Anderson 'It Will Never Be Over' 7/80
This was from Georgia Championship Wrestling. Leading into this angle, there was a multi-month build which saw long time heel Ole Anderson slowly converted into a face. Over time, Ole's archrival Dusty Rhodes started to trust Ole, until in a time of need, he tagged up with him in a big grudge match at The Omni. Locked in a steel cage, with Dusty outnumbered and vulnerable, Ole seized the moment and finally unveiled his master plan of revenge!
Looking back, Ole was an incredible talent. A strong performer who not only delivered on the mic and inside the ring, but also effectively booked the action behind the scenes. A jack of all trades!
"Dusty Rhodes himself...was the one who said...it could never be over..."
"Now I don't have to pretend to be your friend...because I never was...and I never will be!"
-Ole Anderson

Jake Roberts 'This Tuesday In Texas' 12/91 Promo
"The best feeling I ever had in my life...is was when I grabbed onto your woman's hair man...and jerked her up off of her knees...that was good...and then when I put my hand across her face my man...it felt so good...I should have to pay for that!"
-Jake Roberts on the thrill of slapping Miss Elizabeth
Given the time frame, this was pushing the envelope away from what the then family friendly WWF would usually deliver. In his prime, Jake was an absolute master on the mic. Had he stayed clean and sober, he would have probably transitioned into a driving creative force backstage. One can only imagine what might have been!

Double A always had a knack for terse serious mic work. Speaking with a tone of conviction, his words blurred the line between reality and fiction. It takes a great mic worker to pull that off, and throughout his career Arn did it many times over!
Arn Anderson 'My Spot' Promo 8/25/97
"Well the fact is...I've got nothing left to give...and I want you to remember me as I was...not as I am...but being the man that I am...my last act formally as a Horsemen...I got one last challenge..."
-Arn Anderson

Don Muraco was among the best all around talents of the late 70s into mid 80s. Here's an extended house show promo with the IC Champ putting over his program with Superfly Jimmy Snuka.
Magnificent Don Muraco Promo circa '83
"You saw him knock me down...you saw him knock me down a number of times...you saw me bleed just like a pig...but like a mean bore...I got back up and tore into him!"

I liked how Flair and Ole teased the good cop/bad cop shtick moments before RF went off the deep end! This was a hot angle which created a strange 'all heel grudge match' vibe later on in the night when Flair & The Andersons wrestled J-Tex Corp in the cage. Sting blew out his knee doing the scale the cage spot and was never quite the same. To his credit he learned to effectively work around the change and make do without the high risk spots that were his rep.

When Ole turned heel, he did so with verbal gold! Like the "It will never be over" promo and the "you're no longer a Horseman promo" and this golden nugget as well.
