I remember watching this one on TV back in the day. Slaughter was a great heel, Backlund as legit fit as they come. Arnold Skaaland plays manager in peril, as the riding crop sells the intensity!

Last year at Chikara in Chicago, MATT CLASSIC broke out the Step Test in the middle of his six-man match teaming with DASHER HATFIELD & SUGAR DUNKERTON. It was epic!

The Piper/Adonis feud circa late '86 cemented Roddy's face turn. Even at this stage, Adrian was an amazing in ring talent, its a real shame that he just completely let himself go. I still wonder what might have been had he taken better care of himself. RIP

Back in the late 70s/early 80s, national television exposure on Superstation WTBS helped Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich to become one of the most popular names in the industry. A brief look back:

This was from Southeastern Wrestling circa '81. Bullet Bob Armstrong was a strong promo guy, underrated among critics.

Bret & Curt were two of the best of the era, and would have made for an amazing team, but I also felt Mr. Perfect was better cast as a heel.

A look at Power Team USA, Ultimate Warrior & Sting before they were stars. Funny stuff when long time Memphis star Phil Hickerson comes out and 'shoots' on the two superstars to be with allegations that they can't wrestle and use steroids!
"The reason ya'll haven't rassled against Lawler, Dundee, Mantel and myself is because you're green and you don't know how to wrestle. The only thing you know how to do brother is pull your britches down and put them steroids in your booty. You don't scare me, because I can fight and I can wrestle, and you can't do either one. That's why you're going to be rasslin' in the first and second matches for the rest of your damn life!"
