This has been done several times before but I thought I would take my turn at putting together a tournament. 64 of the best legends have been extended an invitation to compete in a single elimination tournament and all have accepted.
As always, wagering is illegal but encouraged!
Up first, Andre The Giant v. Nigel McGuinness.
Andre The Giant (1) v. Nigel McGuinness (64)
Andre is greeted by a huge ovation as he makes his way to the ring and steps over the ropes to do battle with his English opponent. A handshake starts the action at the bell and McGuinness looks very small in the ring despite standing 6’1”. McGuiness tries of a shoulder tackle early on and just bounces off the Giant and falls to the mat. Andre ties up McGuinness with a body scissors and lift and then hits a sitdown splash before tossing McGuinness to the floor. McGuinness manages to trip up Andre from outside and drag him to the floor. Both men mix it up and McGuinness gets the best of the brawl. Back inside, McGuinness applies a LONDON DUNGEON on Andre but cannot maintain the hold (R9/P1). McGuinness cannot lift Andre to the turnbuckles but hits a Tower of London from the standing position. McGuinness attempts a headstand in the corner/mule kick but Andre easily blocks the blow and regains control. Andre with another body scissors and lift and the crowd loves it. Sitdown splash and Andre covers for 2 (R8/P5). It is all Andre at this point including a pair of dropkicks that rocks the crowd and another sitdown splash. They brawl around ringside once again but this time Andre maintains control. Back inside, another sitdown splash forces McGuinness to roll to the floor. Andre comes out after his opponent but a McGuinness is able to counter with a questionable mule kick that strikes below the belt and slows the Giant down. Back inside the ring, Andre uses his power to counter a double thrust and traps McGuiness in a lengthy bear hug. Andre then ends it with a BIG SPLASH (R7/P13). Andre is onto the next round. Up next: Ed The Strangler Lewis v. Ted DiBiase

Good start BookerBill, Andre wore down McGuinness and crushed him in the end, it'll be fun following your tournament to see if anyone can knock Andre off...

Ed The Strangler Lewis (32) v. Ted DiBiase (33)
Both men look confident during the introductions and shake hands at the opening bell. The fans settle in for a mat classic as both of these men know their holds. DiBiase however has other ideas and attempts a forearm smash to open the action. Lewis is ready and counters with a full nelson that forces DiBiase to grab the ropes (R5/P3). Lewis tosses DiBiase to the floor and comes out after him. This proves costly as DiBiase gains the upper hand with a series of punches. DiBiase tosses Lewis to the floor for some more roughhousing but this time Lewis realizes he has to fight to stay alive and the action on the floor is much more intense with both men risking disqualification. DiBiase leads the action back to the ring and hits a deathjump smash and fist drop that forces Lewis to the floor. Outside, DiBiase rams a chair into Lewis’ knee but the referee lets the action continue. Back inside, DiBiase hits a LOADED GLOVE and Lewis goes down hard but kicks out of the cover (R7/P2). Lewis is busted open and DiBiase sends him to the floor once again. The fans are all over DiBiase but Lewis gives them something to cheer about when he drags DiBiase to the floor and sends him into the ring post. DiBiase is now busted open as well. Lewis brings DiBiase outside again but DiBiase counters with a boot to the stomach and regains control. It is all DiBiase with chops in the corner and a spinning neckbreaker. Lewis is able to score with a couple of wastelock takedowns and a full nelson. DiBiase bails from the action in the ring and then drags Lewis outside whipping him in the ring post. A fist drop sets up a FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK but Lewis is able to grab the ropes (R6/P4). DiBiase again makes use of a chair on Lewis’s leg and the fans are all over the referee. A deathjump cross body gives DiBiase a 2 ½ count (R5/P4). DiBiase then drops Lewis with a LOADED GLOVE and that is it (R5/P5). Congratulations to Ted DiBiase who has earned the right to face Andre The Giant in the next round. Up next: Killer Kowalski v. Ilio DiPaolo

Thanks for the comments CC and Dustin.
I was hoping for Lewis to pull out the win because I thought he could give Andre a challenge with his triple finisher.
Killer Kowalski (17) v. Ilio DiPaolo (48)
Kowalski is out to great heat from ringside and controls the early action working over DiPaolo’s arm with a series of shoulder breakers and standing armbars. DiPaolo reverses a whip into the corner but Kowalski counters DiPaolo’s charge with an elbow to the face and DiPaolo crumbles to the mat. Kowalski then ends it with a FACE CLAW (R3/P5). Dominating win for Kowalski. Up next: Johnny Valentine v. Kevin Sullivan

I really liked that Ted DiBiase pulled out the Win over Lewis but too bad DiPaolo lost to Kowalski, a fun & entertaining tourny so far...

Johnny Valentine (16) v. Kevin Sullivan (49)
This match had an interesting contrast of styles with the sadistic and devious taskmaster meeting the super tough Valentine. Sullivan attacks Valentine as he enters ringside before Gary Michael Cappetta has even finished his introductions. Sullivan sends Valentine in the ring post and the blood is flowing. Sullivan takes the action to the ring as the referee calls for the bell. Sullivan blasts Valentine with a foreign object and then covers him. The referee makes the three count and we have our first major upset in a match that officially lasts only seconds.(R2/P2). Up next, Jimmy Snuka v. Ox Baker

Jimmy Snuka (9) v. Ox Baker (55)
The ovation for the Superfly is off the charts. Superfly builds on the fans support and dominates the early action with a series of backbreakers and chops. A piledriver only stuns Baker enough for a 1 count (R12/P4). There is great spot where Snuka sails over the ropes onto Baker at ringside the fans are on fire. Back inside it is all Snuka including a backbreaker for a 1 count (R9/P4). Baker is able to get control at ringside and runs Snuka into the ring post. Superfly is quickly wearing the crimson mask as the action returns to the ring. Baker telegraphs a backdrop and Snuka counter with a piledriver. The action goes to the floor where Baker again gains the upper hand. Baker posts Snuka a second time and the fans are all over the referee. Snuka turns thing around when he counters Baker’s attack on the floor by reversing a whip into the steel ringside rails. Back inside, Baker catches Snuka on the top of the buckles and tosses him to the mat. Baker follows up with neckbreaker for a 2 count (R5/P3). Snuka regains his feet and walks into a HEARTPUNCH. 1, 2, 3. (R3/P8). We have our second consecutive upset! Up next: The Crusher v. John Pesek

The Crusher (24) v. John Pesek (41)
The hooker v. The Brawler. This one should be a classic. Pesek sets the early pace with a mat attack mixed with the occasional head butt. Crusher turns things around and picks up a 1 count with a body slam (R10/P3). The action progresses with Pesek keeping Crusher tied up on the mat only to have Crusher get in the occasional power move or forearm in. Pesek picks up a 1 count with a lateral press keylock (R7/P2) and then moves to a DOUBLE WRISTLOCK but Crusher powers out (R7/P3). A TIGERMAN TOEHOLD forces Crusher to grab the ropes (R7/P4) and Crusher’s supporters at ringside are now concerned. Pesek opts not toss Crusher to the floor and instead uses a lateral press keylock to set up a double bar hammerlock for the submission win (R3/P5). The hooker bests the brawler. Up next: Antonio Inoki v. Ivan Koloff
