Thanks CC and Kamala for the feedback.
Antonio Inoki (25) v. Ivan Koloff (40)
The fans are all over Koloff as he comes to the ring armed with his chains. Inoki has the height advantage but Koloff is a more powerful. Inoki is able to avoid Koloff early on but Koloff manages to counter a charge to the corner with a double knee to the chest. Koloff hits a pair of leg drops and then traps Inoki in a backbreaker. Inoki manages to wiggle free (R8/P2). Koloff chokes Inoki with his chains and the referee lets the action continue. Koloff attacks with axe handles and leg drops for a 1 count (R8/P4). Koloff traps Inoki in a RUSSIAN BEARHUG. Inoki tries to punch his way free but the Russian Bear just squeezed tighter and Inoki blacks out (R7/P7). The upsets continue. Up next: Frank Gotch v. Jimmy Valiant

Frank Gotch (8) v. Jimmy Valiant (57) w/Lou Albano
The fans hate Valiant and Albano and are all over them during the introductions. Gotch is a master of the mat game and Valiant gained his success with brawling so this is a battle of contrasting styles. Brawling set the pace early on and Gotch was soon a bloody mess after a head slam to post. Gotch is able to roll clear of Valiant’s deathjump attempt and that leads to a one count (R9/P3). Gotch cannot maintain the advantage as Valiant pokes him the eye and regains control. Albano gets some stomps in on Gotch at ringside the fans are irate. Valiant climbs to the top of the buckles to finish off Gotch with a SUPERELBOW but he gloats to the fans allowing Gotch to recover and toss him to the mat. With ringside on their feet Gotch goes to work on the mat with a crossface and armbar, guillotine choke and GOTCH TOEHOLD. Albano is able to cause a distraction and Gotch releases the hold long enough to deck Albano. The crowd explodes and Gotch immediately goes back to the attack on Valiant with a GOTCH TOEHOLD and gets the win (R7/P8). Up next: Rob Van Dam v. Bryan Danielson

I love seeing Ivan Koloff have what I think is a huge upset win over Inoki and I really like how you add the notes on each wrestler like with the fans hating Valiant & Albano, Solid Stuff...

Thanks for following along CC and Kamala. I agree, Koloff going over clearly was a significant upset.
Rob Van Dam (4) w/Bill Alfonso v. Bryan Danielson (61)
The sound of the whistle can only mean one thing; Bill Alfonso is on the way to the ring with Mr. Monday Night, Rob Van Dam. The atmosphere is electric as the Gary Michael Cappetta makes the introductions. Van Dam mounts the corner and points to his shoulders while the crowd chants “Rob Van Dam” but the showboating allows The American Dragon to strike first before the bell. Van Dam counters Danielson’s roundhouse kicks and a standing moonsault forces Danielson to the floor. Van Dam is outside the fans are on their feet. Danielson gets the best of the exchange and when the action goes back to the ring Danielson comes off the top ropes with a missile dropkick but Van Dam moves and then covers Danielson for a one count (R6/P2). Van Dam hits a deathjump smash and then calls for a chair from Alfonso who tosses the weapon in. Van Daminator! The referee calls for the bell as Danielson is down and out. We have our first disqualification decision of the tournament the number four seed is out. Up next: Magnum Terry Allen v. Rick Rude

Magnum Terry Allen (29) v. Rick Rude w/Bobby Heenan (36)
Rick Rude is on the mic before the bell and tells the fans to shut up while he shows them what a real man looks like. Classic heat for the Ravishing One. The fans love Magnum especially the ladies. The action is fast paced from the outset there is a referee bump. Allen hits a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX but there is no referee. It is all Magnum with no referee to watch the action. Allen hits a second BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX but once again the referee does not make the count. Allen traps Rude in an abdominal stretch that has Rude submitting but the referee is still down and out. The fans are not pleased. Finally a new official arrives to take over (12 moves) and Allen is still in control. Rude finally catches a break with a flying shoulder tackle off the ropes and then hits a suplex for a 1 count (R6/P2). Rude goes for a deathjump but Allen catches him on the top of the corner and tosses Rude to the mat. The fans love it. Allen follows up with another BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX. The Brain causes a distraction and Rude is saved. Allen hits yet another BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX. 1, 2, kick out (R11/P9). The fans cannot believe it. Rude again gets a break coming off the ropes this time with a shoulder tackle. Rude hits a suplex for a 1 count (R7/P3). Rude tosses Allen to the floor and comes out after him starting a wild brawl on the floor. Both men are nearly disqualified before Allen brings the match back inside the ropes. Rude is able to counter right jabs and sends Allen into the ropes and catches him with a high knee smash. Both men are exhausted and Rude mounts the corner drawing great heat. Rude leaps and Allen gets his boot up for the counter. The crowd explodes but the advantage is short lived as Rude connects with a clothesline to being his first run of offense of the match including rebounding Allen off the ropes into another high knee. Rude hits the RUDE AWAKENING. 1, 2, Kick out. Monster pop. Rude plants Allen with a piledriver. Allen kicks out of the cover again (R12/P5)! Allen makes a comeback with a vertical suplex but Rude counters an arm ringer to quickly regain control. The match goes to the floor and Rude wins the brawl this time. Back inside RUDE AWAKENING. 1, 2, 3/shoulder up (R8/P8). The bell sounds. Allen did not raise his shoulder in time and Rude is through to the next round. Up Next: Steve Williams v. Bobby Eaton

Steve Williams (20) v. Bobby Eaton (45) w/Jim Cornette
The fans give Williams a warm reception as he comes to the ring. Eaton is waiting on Williams and smashes him with a steel chair as he enters ringside. The fans are not pleased but we are underway and Williams is already in trouble. It is all Eaton as the bell sounds with a stinging right hand and a bulldog. A spinning neckbreaker (ch) looks impressive and Cornette manages to crack Williams in the kidney area with his tennis racket leading to a near fall for Eaton (R8/P2). Eaton drops Williams with a stinging right hand for a 1 count (R7/P3) and then hits his second top rope elbow of the match. A backdrop leads to a Divorce Court before Eaton takes flight with another top rope elbow for a two count (R9/P4). Williams cannot find any way to stop Eaton’s mid-level offense. Dr. Death is finally able to counter a backdrop with a kick to the head and ringside comes to life. The advantage is short lived as Eaton ties up Williams in back to back Divorce Courts to retake control of the action. Cornette cracks Williams between the eyes with his tennis racket and Eaton makes the cover for 2 (R8/P5). The fans are all over the referee. A stinging right hand downs Williams near the ropes and Cornette chokes out Williams with his tennis racket as the fans lose it at ringside. Eaton hooks the leg for the three count and is onto the next round (R2/P6). Up next George Hackenschmidt v. Larry Zbyszko
