I really haven't been a fan of the NHL in a long time, but the excitement here in Buffalo with new owner Terry Pegula coming in and not only pushing for the tradition of the Blue & Gold, but looking to make this team a threat to win in the regular season and to win the Stanley Cup. I've always kept my eye on how the team does over the years, but this year I'll be tuning into many of their games for sure. Another thing I'm excited about is that the Winnipeg Jets franchise is back in the league and they are among my favorite three teams of all time in the NHL...
1.Buffalo Sabres 2.New York Islanders 3.Winnipeg Jets
I know this Winnipeg Jets team moved from Atlanta and they may not be playoff bound that I know of, but I'm looking forward to see how they do this season. Wow! A pretty cool opening ceremonies in Boston tonight and a wild end to the first period ending 2-1 at intermission...

I was actually excited fro teh start of the season last night. Watched the Flyers/Bruins game on Versus. Well, the first period and 4 minutes of the second before I passed out. Man, the Flyers have an attacking offense.

Man, the Flyers have an attacking offense. Yeah the first period was really fun, then it died down but it was still a good opening game. 1pm today on MSG I'll be tuning into the Buffalo Sabres game versus the Anaheim Ducks from Helsinki, that should be a fun game...

I did Fantasy Hockey for the 2nd time ever, just to try to be more involved. I am a Columbus Blue Jackets fan by default... How is the overall State wide support for the Blue Jackets? I know that Ohio had the Cleveland Barons from 76 to 78, it's a shame that franchise did not remain in Ohio and part of the league. It's amazing how the Barons were the California Golden Seals and then they became part of the Minnesota Northstars who we all know moved to Dallas... I'm wondering if we'll see any other franchises like Atlanta relocate to another market. Hamilton still wants a franchise but that would effect both Buffalo & Toronto, plus I think a franchise back in Quebec would be good...

The hockey season is way too long. I barely begin paying attention until after the Super Bowl. I am however playing the shit out of NHL 12 on Xbox. Totally awesome. The 6 on 6 user drop-in option is incredibly fun.

The 6 on 6 user drop-in option is incredibly fun. I use to watch every Sabre game with my father and brother when we were kids, but I plan on this season to watch a few months of games and then take a break till February or March. I agree the NHL season is long, but MLB takes the cake in having an extremely way too long of a season. I use to love playing EA Sports NHL video games, but video gaming for me is nearly dead and I may play a game for a week and then stop for almost 4 or more months. Anyway, the Sabre season kicks off in 2 hours so that'll be fun to watch...

Just finished watching Buffalo win 4-1 over Anaheim in a very entertaining game for Sabre fans. One game does not make a season, but a good start helps and the Sabres look good in certain areas and now they need to keep working hard throughout the season...

Totally psyched for the start of the season. Intrigued by Buffalo and the Islanders, and always hope the Jackets do well (just not better than Detroit.)

Totally psyched for the start of the season. Intrigued by Buffalo and the Islanders, and always hope the Jackets do well (just not better than Detroit.) I'm hoping the Islanders can have a good enough season to make the playoff's this year. A cool fact is Islanders John Tavares is the nephew of Buffalo Bandits great John Tavares who has been with Buffalo since 1992, who was aquired from the Detroit Turbos and he is 1st is goals, assists and point at the age of 43 in the National Lacrosse League. Anyway, the Islanders have a great player in Tavares and now they need to elevate to the next level...
