Thanks for the feedback Nick.
Blackjack Mulligan (19) v. Harley Race (22)
Both these men are double tough and know each other well. Mulligan avoids Race’s charge to the corner in the opening moments and gets a 1 count off of a roll up (R6/P2). Mulligan batters Race at ringside and then attempts to end it with a CLAWHOLD but Race battles free (R10/P5). Race is able to gain control when the match goes to the floor again. He goes to work in the ring leading to a swinging neckbreaker for a 2 count (R4/P2). The action weaves back and forth between head butts, knees and slams with both men unleashing heavy blows on each other. The bout spills outside again and this time Mulligan goes too far dropping Race with a chair shot across the back making it a complete sweep of disqualification finishes for the quarterfinals. The fans are not pleased.
Four left and there can be only one winner. Semi Final action will see Hawk take on Terry Gordy and Harley Race face Greg Valentine.

The DQ decisions are off the charts but that is the way the dice roll. I have Race over Valentine and Gordy over Hawk in the semi's so I guess I'm pulling for a Race vs. Gordy final. Maybe it should be a No DQ match! ;D

Thanks for the feedback Nick and Crue. The run of DQ finishes did make things interesting. I just hope the finals does not end in double DQ
Terry Gordy (13) v. Road Warrior Hawk (17) w/Ellering
Unlike last tournament where Gordy had to face Andre The Giant in the semi-finals, Gordy comes into this one the favourite. Both these men where well known for their time as tag team competitors but Gordy did have his share of singles success but overseas and in North America. This one is very closely contested early on with both men trading blows evenly. Hawk breaks out with a gorilla press slam that stuns the fans but the one at ringside tossing Gordy back into the ring is even more impressive. Hawk with a pair of suplexes, a deathjump and another gorilla press slam. Cover for 1 (R10/P2). Hawk is all over Gordy with a series of suplexes and running clotheslines. Cover for 1 again (R10/P3). Gordy is soon a bloody mess after eating the ring rails. Hawk just keeps coming. Gordy counters a clothesline with one of his own and both men go down hard. Hawk is up first and mounts the corner for a FLYING CLOTHESLINE. 1, 2, 3. The Road Warrior is onto the finals (R4/P5).

Hawk to the finals, amazing stuff there. Will it be Race or Valentine meeting him there? I love the unpredictability of this tournament, Bookerbill.

Harley Race (22) v. Greg Valentine (50) w/Captain Lou Albano
Two very tough competitors who really know how to hurt you battled in the second semi-final. The fans back Race from the outset and he responds by taking control early on. Valentine counters a back drop and then sends Race to the floor. Outside, Valentine rams Race’s leg off the arena floor. A neckbreaker gets Valentine a 1 count when the action goes back inside (R8/P2). Race battles back with a series of suplexes and a diving headbutt. A vertical suplex gives Race his cover (R8/P4) and Race follows with a swinging neckbreaker for a 1 count (R9/P5). PILEDRIVER. 1, 2, Albano distracts the referee and the fans are livid. Race clearly had the match won but he keeps his focus and punishes the hammer with a swinging neckbreaker, deathjump smash and diving headbutt. Cover. Albano attacks Race! Race roughs off Albano to the fans roaring and tossing the manager to the floor. Valentine attacks Race with a chop block from behind and Race crumbles to the mat. FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Race barely makes it to the ropes to force the break (R6/P5). It is all the Hammer. Race eats the steel at ringside and is busted open. Valentine with shoulder breakers and falling elbow hammers. The fans get behind Race and he storms back. Valentine goes into the rails and now both men where the crimson mask. It is back and forth now with now clear advantage. Valentine rams a chair into Race’s leg at ringside drawing huge heat. FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Race powers out (R9/P6) and Valentine connects with a full nelson suplex (ch) for a near fall (R7/P5). The move seems to have knocked the wind from Race and Valentine capitalizes with a FIGURE FOURLEGLOCK. Race submits and Valentine has reached the finals (R5/P8). We are at the end now fellow promoters. I would like to thank everyone who followed along and I hope you enjoyed the action. A special thanks to those who took the time to post some comments. Tomorrow The Hammer faces the Road Warrior in the finals. Valentine has gone through back to back wars to get to finals. Will he have anything left in the tank to overcome Hawk’s power? Will Albano or Ellering be the difference maker?

As expected, Race versus Valentine was a brutal, hard hitting affair! Whatever cut Albano takes from Valentine's purse he earned in the Semis! I have to say that I'm rooting for The Hammer to clip Hawk's wings at the climax of this epic, prestigious tournament.
