The WWA may have been bought by the GWF. This much is true.
But…that doesn’t mean the WWA is going to go quietly into the night.
Coming soon…
WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE
A wrestling Super Card unlike any other.
No heels.
No heroes.
Just hatred.

GWF CLASSIC (#1066)August 12, 2008 Hammerstein Ballroom New York, NY THE FIRST MATCH. K.O. Keller (2) p. King Kong Bundy (4) by the Ten Count in 10:15 (**). Keller, in true Rocky fashion, wore down Bundy with his furious fists, and his workmanlike tenacity! A little history is in order here. As the GWF’s purchase of the WWA became public knowledge and drew nearer, the GWF started to have its superstars appear on WWA cards, if nothing else to get the fans used to the notion that the GWF would indeed be taking over WWA operations. K.O. Keller appeared on a WWA card, matched up against WWA mainstay Ted DiBiase. DiBiase was triumphant in this contest. But, what really rankled fans was DiBiase’s new attitude in the ring. It seems that DiBiase has come into a lot of money due to some speculative investments (in commodities) bearing a lot of fruit. This money has changed DiBiase, and he has begun to call himself The Million Dollar Man. He now throws money around almost to insult others, to belittle them. He has even formed his own stable, “The Corporation”, consisting of his Chief Financial Officer Iron Mike DiBiase (also, his father), bodyguard King Kong Bundy, and young student and investor Claudio Castagnoli. Now, Keller is the workingman’s hero, a tough S.O.B. who lets his fists do the talking, and who does not suffer arrogant fools. DiBiase’s victory over Keller was one of guile and trickery over noble fighting, and it really angered Keller. He challenged DiBiase to meet him, only DiBiase sent his giant bodyguard, King Kong Bundy to, in DiBiase’s words “squash the little gnat”. Keller’s victory tonight sent a message, loud and clear, to DiBiase that this “little gnat” is going to be very hard to get rid of! THE SECOND MATCH. Mike Quackenbush (0) p. Larry Sweeney (3) with a Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker in 12:46 (**1/4). This match didn’t live up to the first one between these two junior heavies, but it did definitely establish Quackenbush as a leading contender for the new World Junior Heavyweight Title! THE THIRD MATCH. This one wasn’t teatime. In a wild brawl that didn’t contain one legitimate wrestling move, The Sheik (0) d. The Crusher (2) by DQ in 9:14 (**). The fans loved this wild donnybrook, especially since it involved the much beloved Crusher! The two men had to be separated by their allies and referees, as they brawled near the stands outside of the ring! This is pretty much standard fare for The Sheik, as he’s already been involved in arguably the Feud of the Year with Killer Kowalski, a feud filled with blood and DQ’s. He seems to delight in taking on and antagonizing the tough guys of wrestling, and this feud promises to be a wild one! During the break up of the brawl, the Sheik’s friend The Terrible Turk clocked Crusher’s partner Yukon Eric with a steel chair, busting the big man wide open! Eric was furious, and had to be contained by armed guards from going after the Sheik! THE FOURTH MATCH. The Fabulous Kangaroos (0) p. Steve Corino and Ricky Landell (3) by an Aussie Suplex in 12:06 (**). Ho hum…yet another win for the leading favorite for Tag Team of the Year, the Kangaroos. The Kangaroos barely broke a sweat in dispatching these young upstarts, and look to earn yet another title shot against the Tag champs of GWF Classic, the Vachons! THE FIFTH MATCH: ONE FALL, 30-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR A WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE SHOT. Harley Race (0) p. Bruno Sammartino (1) by a Piledriver in 13:18 (**1/2). Race wins a title shot against World Heavyweight champ Giant Baba! Bruno really came out of the gates fast, just peppering Race with a lot of forearm blasts, and planting Race so hard with one body slam, it seemed like Race would go through the mat! But the ever resourceful Handsome One roared back, baiting Bruno outside the ring, and smashing him into the ring steps! After that, it became a formality, as Race tossed Bruno in the ring and finished him. Race, is a former 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion (AUTHOR’S NOTE: The NWA was my first Legends fed, and please refer back to my GWF history to see that the GWF did eventually buy it), and a former WWA World Tag-Team Champion. He also bears the unfortunate distinction of having been on the roster of two federations that have been purchased by the GWF! Race, many people say, has become a very bitter man towards the GWF, resenting the upstart promotion “from outer space” with a fury that is unrivaled by any other former WWA star. He wants someone to pay for this, and he wants them to pay in blood… THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 30-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE HERITAGE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. Tiger Mask (0) (fourth defense) p. Nick Bockwinkel (2) by a Twisting Moonsault to retain the title in just 5:17 (*3/4). Tiger Mask continues his improbable run as a heavyweight champ, again, the lightest man to ever hold a heavyweight championship in the GWF’s history. Bockwinkel, like many before him, took the little man for granted, and tried to muscle him, but Tiger Mask deftly used his incredible agility to bewilder the larger man, and then put him away with a Moonsault that was just beautiful to behold! Tiger Mask has had a brilliant 2008, and is a leading contender for the Omega Trophy, given to the Wrestler of the Year in the GWF! Whew! That concludes another star-studded edition of GWF Classic! Lots of questions, and not many answers at the moment. Will Crusher get his revenge against the Sheik? Will Yukon Eric get his large mitts on the Terrible Turk? Can Mike Quackenbush continue his triumphant march to the World Junior Heavyweight Title?
Will Dalton forgive me for copying his end-of-card style??
And, will Harley Race eventually snap and give in to his hatred of the GWF???
No one knows yet gentle reader, so you’ll just have to stay tuned!
And, be sure to tune in to the next action-packed edition of GWF CHAMPIONS. Scheduled to appear on the next card are:
-Blizzard vs. Painmaster
-Colossus vs. Wraith
And a big double main event of:
*Intercontinental Championship: Amazing Mann (c) vs. Tauran (Tauran and Anivar have had a long feud going with Mann).
**World Tag-Team Championship: The Master Race (c) vs. The Roulets (bootlegs of mine).

GWF CHAMPIONS (#1067)
August 14, 2008 Felt Forum New York
THE FIRST MATCH. Blizzard (7) d. Painmaster (3) by the Ice Storm in 17:54 (***1/2). Great opener, which went back and forth, and featured a terrific comeback by the Iceman to win it in the end! Blizzard and Colossus have been back in the GWF now for a few months, and have formed a real bond, especially in their collective war against Painmaster and Wraith. Blizzard is considered by many as the best pound-for-pound wrestler in the game right now, and may eventually want to try his hand at the World Junior Heavyweight Title.
THE SECOND MATCH. Wraith (0) d. Colossus (1) by the Colonizer Claw Grip in 13:42 (**1/2). Very bruising and stiff bout here. And it should’ve been, given the rivalry between these two men. For Wraith, this is his second straight win over Colossus, and the “Omicron Hammer” now looks to receive at least an Intercontinental Title match. Colossus pounded the mat in frustration after this loss. There’s a lot of bad blood between these two warriors.
THE THIRD MATCH. Godsend (1) and Exodus (3) battled to a time limit Draw, 20:00 (***). Good contest here, the first singles bout between these two rivals in the GWF. Exodus took to the air (no…not with wings!) early on, bewildering the “Anointed One” with a variety of aerial maneuvers. But, in typical Godsend fashion, he battled back using questionable methods, including what appeared to be some type of foreign object (Boo!) in his hand, which he used to routinely pummel Exodus’s heretofore smooth forehead. Exodus thinks, and has widely proclaimed (along with his buddy Endgame) that Godsend represents the “…worst in professional wrestling”, and he would like nothing more than to run Godsend clear out of the GWF. Many have tried to run Godsend out before, and have failed. It’s a tall order, yet Exodus and Endgame seem to be up to the challenge!
THE FOURTH MATCH. Speaking of dastardly heels, Nightmare (2) d. Lance At-Las (4) with a Dread Lariat in 18:30 (***). Another good match in this one. The valiant At-Las (a fan favorite) really took the match to Nightmare in the early going, and was still in control when the “Occult Master” nailed him with a lariat seemingly out of nowhere, almost completely knocking At-Las out. Nightmare stalked off to a chorus of boos, smiling his devilish grin the entire way up the ramp. This contest also had Intercontinental Title implications, as both men were leading contenders coming in to the bout. Nightmare’s recent record has been especially impressive. He may have to get in line behind Wraith at the moment, however. Rest assured, it won’t be long until the “Occult Master” weaves his way into a title shot!
FIRST MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 30-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP. And we have a new champion folks, for the first time in months!! Tauran (0) d. The Amazing Mann (7) (finishes with 6 I/C Title Defenses…and incidentally, he holds the record in the GWF for defenses with 14, again with the I/C Title) on a Leg Hook Powerbomb in 14:30 (**3/4). Big pop for Tauran, who has really seen his star rise this year with victories over several quality opponents. Not even that despicable showman, Vin Strutter, could save Mann this time. It was especially gratifying for Tauran, as The Amazing Mann has tormented Tauran’s good friend and erstwhile tag partner Anivar the entire year. Anivar is now licking at his chops to take down Mann himself! Tauran is probably looking at Wraith for his first defense.
SECOND MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE GWF WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP. The Master Race managed to lose the battle, but win the war! The Roulets (3) (bootleg team of mine, hailing originally from the New France colony on Jupiter) d. The Master Race (5) (4th Title defense) by DQ in 18:41 (***). This one got a little too close for comfort for the Race, and Zygon went for the cheap DQ in the end to escape with the titles. That of course brought down the wrath of the fans, which only seemed to delight The Dark Menace’s team of doom all the more! The Roulets were demanding a rematch almost immediately, and it will be up to Commissioner Massif to determine if they will receive one!
That’s it for this action-packed edition of GWF CHAMPIONS wrestling fans! The war over the question of “What is Wrestling” continues between Endgame and his allies, and Godsend and his Unholy Alliance. Will the noble Endgame and Exodus prevail? Only time will tell!
And what of Wraith, and his quest for GWF gold? Is it his time, now that he has a number of quality wins under his belt?
And, now that The Amazing Mann cannot hide behind his title belt any longer, will Anivar be able to exact his revenge? Stay tuned!
Also, there is speculation running rampant about who among GWF CHAMPIONS will represent the group in WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE! Certainly we will see The Mighty Grogan in action against either Dan Severn or George Hackenschmidt, and K.O. Keller against Ted DiBiase. Will we see Wolf? How about Endgame? Fans are salivating at the prospect of Endgame taking down the bitter Harley Race, and defending the original GWF’s pride!
Keep it tuned right here grappling fans for these details, as well as plenty of great wrestling action!
And be sure to catch the next exciting edition of GWF CLASSIC. Matches scheduled so far:
-Pepper Gomez vs. Danny Hodge (the winner will face Mike Quackenbush for the chance to become the first World Junior Heavyweight Champion!)
-Larry Zbyszko vs. Strangler Lewis
-Killer Kowalski & Angelo Mosca vs. The Midnight Express
-And a big Main Event, as Giant Baba attempts to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Harley Race!
The GWF.
Don’t’cha Dare Miss It!

Great stuff, Stu! Wraith over Colossus was a bit of a surprise. But that's the Wraith with 4 "Add 1" moves, correct?
Can't wait for the next Classic show!

It's actually not Cory. I never liked that card as much, the drawing where he's disappearing just never appealed to me. So, I'm using his card before that. He's still pretty tough, upper midcard I'd say, but not the machine he became. His defense is very good, however, which keeps him in most matches, and he has a pin of 4(1).
