(This will be the start...and hopefully not the end ...of my posting my fed's results. As I am a big history buff, well, history and background are important to me. So, before I get started posting results, here is the story of my version of this hobby we all know and love...the Global Wrestling Federation.)The Global Wrestling Federation (GWF) began as the joint brainchild of Anton Morpheus of Austria, and Omega of Oklahoma, in 1996. The first historic card was held in the Manhattan Center in New York, NY. As the little wrestling organization was just getting off the ground in 1996, there were not many cards held over the first couple of years. Still, the GWF managed to develop a following. Morpheus and Omega moved the GWF to Deimos, a moon colony of Mars, after a couple of years. The two men, visionaries really, felt that the time was right to develop an intergalactic caliber wrestling organization that was headquartered out of Deimos, a fairly central location for intergalactic travel. The GWF thrived on Deimos for a period of years, and really grew their reputation. The GWF moved its headquarters back to New York, NY, in the summer of 2006. There were two main reasons it did so. First, and foremost, the planet Mars was a dying world. For years, human existence had been sustained only by the continued use of the Genesis Project (yep…ripped off from the Star Trek movies). But, due to enormous environmental changes, the planet’s hospitable environment could no longer be sustained. The GWF, for decades housed on Deimos, a moon of Mars, had to find a new home. Second, intergalactic space travel had become prohibitively expensive due to the continued galaxy-wide recession. The GWF Board of Directors, headed up by one Omega of now Cetus, were faced with a big economic decision. Either continue to travel the galaxy and face enormous travel costs, eroding the profitability of the promotion, or make the move to becoming a one-world promotion. For these two reasons, the fact that their home was dying and the better economics of running a one-world promotion, the GWF Board of Directors voted almost unanimously to make the move to planet Earth. The lone dissenting vote was cast by Cordanus. His objection was that the GWF had made an agreement with Earth’s National Wrestling Alliance to become a member-territory, operating out of the now-defunct WWE/F’s home base of New York and the northeast. The reasoning behind this was the fact that the GWF was never truly that popular on Earth, and, with the strength of the NWA-brand, would stand a better chance of really grabbing a foothold in their new home. Cordanus thought this was a mistake, and privately and publicly fumed about it. Nevertheless, the GWF moved ahead with its plans to relocate its operations to Earth. This it did in the summer of 2006. Through an arrangement with the Jim Crockett-owned NWA, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, the GWF became a full member-in-good-standing as an NWA territory operating in the northeast region. The Board of Directors officially changed the name of the promotion to the GALACTIC-COLBY HERITAGE WRESTLING CLUB, dba GCH Wrestling. It’s Galaxian Titles were now recognized as territory-level championships. While hard to take on some levels, as arguably in the rest of the universe the Galaxian Titles were recognized as the most prestigious titles in all of wrestling, it was deemed necessary, again to establish a real foothold on Earth. GCH Wrestling was open for business.

Things went relatively smoothly for the first couple of months. And then, Cordanus decided he wanted to re-enter the ring as an active manager. He signed Godsend of aCe fame to an exclusive managerial contract, and guided (cheating the whole way) his star eventually to the GCH Championship.
This is where things got really interesting.
The night that Godsend won the GCH Heavyweight Championship was a night no fan who was in attendance will ever forget. Godsend stood in the ring after the match, holding the title belt, when suddenly he threw down that title belt, went over to the ropes, and grabbed a microphone and the original Galaxian title belt from Cordanus. Godsend proclaimed to the arena that he was not merely the GCH Heavyweight Champion, but he was the GCH WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT Champion. He and Cordanus stormed triumphantly out of the ring, while the audience sat in stunned silence.
The next day it became known what had happened. Cordanus, working furiously behind the scenes AND behind Omega’s back, had successfully assembled an emergency Board meeting. Only, somehow, Omega wasn’t notified about it. Cordanus used this platform to get a motion passed by a slim margin that separated the GCH Wrestling Club from the NWA to stand as an independent wrestling promotion. Cordanus, being the manager of Godsend who was signed to a GCH Heavyweight title match, stood to gain the most from this arrangement, but somehow that all got missed among his redirect that GCH Wrestling deserved to be an independent wrestling promotion.
Godsend won, therefore in reality becoming the GCH World Champion, and Cordanus suddenly became the manager of the new World champ. Take that Omega!
Omega, of course, was furious, and this set off a months-long feud between Cordanus and his stable of wrestlers, and Omega and his family. Finally, Godsend was defeated, and Cordanus was ousted from the Board of Directors once they realized they had been duped for Cordanus’s own personal gain.
But, the fact remained that GCH Wrestling was now its own independent entity. There was no going back now.
Meanwhile, in the NWA, Jim Crockett was arrested for embezzlement, and, get this, FIXING wrestling matches. I mean, can you imagine wrestling matches being FIXED of all things??? Fans turned away in droves from NWA cards and matches, essentially crippling the NWA, and threatening to bankrupt the history-rich wrestling promotion.

Omega saw his chance. This is where he could put GCH Wrestling on the map with regards to planet Earth. He knew that Crockett was desperate to sell the NWA to pay off his debts to society, and he also knew he had Crockett over a barrel, as in its current state, the NWA was hardly what it was worth even a few short months before. Omega acted quickly, and did in fact negotiate the purchase of the NWA by the GCH Wrestling Club.
What a roller coaster year for GCH Wrestling!! Not only did it successfully relocate from another world, but it managed to purchase at the end of one year one of the most successful Earth wrestling promotions of all time. All the while, it continued to build fans by providing some of the best in-ring action Earth had ever seen. Great feuds of the first year were Morpheus vs. Thantos, Omega vs. Morpheus, and The Original Gladiators vs. the Penthouse Punks.
Now, GCH Wrestling would be opening its doors to any and all Earth wrestlers who wanted to try their hand at defeating the galaxy’s best. There was a long-line of worthy job applicants, to say the least. The match-up possibilities were endless.
The fans were really starting to take notice of this wrestling promotion from “outer space”.
2008: The Acquisition of the WWA
In late 2008, the gears were already in motion for a monumental merger between GCH Wrestling and one of Earth’s top 5 promotions, the World Wrestling Association. These two federations had been battling it out for supremacy for all of 2007 and 2008, and it was taking a toll on both promotions. Rather than continue this war of attrition, a merger was outlined to combine the strength of both wrestling promotions into one super federation.
The deal was struck in the wee hours of the morning on July 31st, 2008. The two promotions would be merged into one federation. It was clear that one federation was clearly absorbing the other, that being GCHWC absorbing the WWA. GCHWC elected by unanimous decision to return their name to the GWF, representing truly a return to national federation status.
Only now, the “G” would stand for Global. The newly re-named Global Wrestling Federation, or GWF, now stood poised for really big things in 2009.

Assorted Facts and Figures
• The GWF is open to any and all wrestlers. I use official COTG and LOW cards from the GWF, CPC, aCe, and Legends sets. Also, I use bootlegs from time to time, my own as well as many I’ve collected over the years. And, I most definitely do not go by the book, as this fed is run Kronos-style. How do I manage this? Don’t wrestlers have to age and eventually retire? Read on about the science of Regeneration.
• In my wrestling world, the science of Regeneration exists. Regeneration uses similar technology to the Aethran’s Cleansing process, only it has expanded upon it dramatically. Human beings of all worlds now commonly use Regeneration. Basically, the science of Regeneration “restores” vitality, youth, and energy to humans when they are starting to show signs of age. A human being can undergo the Regeneration process up to 10 times in their lifetime without experiencing any ill effects.
Because of Regeneration science, human beings on Earth have average life expectancies of 250 years (yes, eventually, we all must die). Athletic primes, therefore, last lifetimes. This explains why Morpheus, Omega, Frank Gotch, Harley Race, and Strangler Lewis are still competing at the highest level of competition when they are considered well beyond their athletic primes chronologically (or, in real life, may have even been dead!).
By using regeneration in my storyline, this allows me to use any wrestler at any time in my fed. This kind of creative freedom is what I enjoy best about the game. So, Thantos rides again in the GWF! So, for that matter, does Jim Londos! And they will ride until the day I’m pushing up daisies!
Gotta love Regeneration!
• I have “Earthenized” the GWF characters a bit. It’s just me; I never was a big fan of a lot of alien-type wrestlers. In my view of the COTG history, other planets were colonized originally by Earth. So, it makes Earth the mother-planet, and the COTG wrestlers more or less humanoid. For the Comrade Terrors, Epochs, and Mandrill’s of the world, I don’t really change their back-story as much as I just ignore the alien components of their makeup. Mandrill just becomes a real hairy-man, a la George Steele; Comrade Terror becomes a bald man with a big head, so on and so forth.
• The GWF is set up to operate in much the same fashion as WWE/F. It has two brands of wrestling, both complete with their own World-Level Championships. The first brand of wrestling is called “GWF Classic”, and it features more of Earth’s great wrestlers. The second brand is simply called “GWF Champions”, and it spotlights more of the wrestlers of the original GWF, those from Earth’s colonies on other worlds.

(continued, and history concluded with this post)
• Each brand of the Global Wrestling Federation has its own sanctioned titles, those being:
GWF Classic
World Heavyweight Championship. This is the same title as the original WWA World Heavyweight Championship. It is a heavyweight title.
World Tag-Team Championship. This is the same title as the original WWA World Tag-Team Championship.
Heritage Heavyweight Championship. This is the secondary title of GWF Classic, and traces its roots back to the Missouri State Heavyweight Title of the old WWA. It is a heavyweight title.
World Junior Heavyweight Championship. This title is open to any and all competitors who are 225 pounds and under.
GWF Champions
GWF World Championship. This is the same title as the original Galaxian Title, only now is a “World” title since the GWF operates on only one world. It’s open to any and all challengers.
GWF World Tag-Team Championship. Like the World Title, this is the same title as the Galaxian Tag-Team Championship. It’s just a name change to reflect the move to a one-world promotion, and is open to any and all challengers.
Intercontinental Championship. This title is the secondary title of GWF Champions. It was originally named the Interplanetary Title.
• While I keep set rosters for both brands, these wrestlers will in fact appear on both brands of wrestling. No wrestler will be exclusive to his particular brand. So, you may in fact see Giant Baba as the GWF World Champion, and Endgame as the World Heavyweight Champion (and you will see some dream match ups between the two “worlds” of wrestling!). With that being said, each brand will have a focus to it, again with GWF Classic featuring more Earth (i.e., “real”) wrestlers and GWF Champions featuring more of the original GWF-type wrestlers.
• At first, I used Tom’s years to account for time and dates, but with the move to Planet Earth, I now use Earth years. Rather than giving myself and everyone else a headache trying to explain why Earth would be 100 years or so behind the rest of the universe, I accept the fact that Earth is in the same time as the rest of the universe. A year on Pluto is not the same as a year on Earth, and this explains why you can have such wide variances in planetary calendars. Works for me!
So, in my title histories, I’ll see where someone won a belt in 2116, and then the next time somebody won that belt, it was 2006. I’m getting used to it!
• The GWF is located in New York, New York. Its brands’ shows originate from New York City, and will sometimes originate from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It’s “home” arena if you will is Madison Square Garden in New York, for both brands.
(This concludes my fed history and background. I'll start to post results within the next few days. Thanks for following along!)

GWF CHAMPIONS (#1065)
August 10, 2008 Madison Square Garden New York
Key:
() = number of fatigue tokens (*)= match rating Timing system: For the first 5 minutes of a match, one minute of real time equals 2 minutes of match time. For each minute of the match after the first 5 minutes are complete, one minute of real time simply equals one minute of match time.
THE FIRST MATCH. Everyone’s favorite sadistic clown Tricks (1) d. Battering Ram (1) by Coulrophobia in 17:48 (**1/2). Tricks has been waging a one-man war against the Andromedans ever since he debuted in the GWF a month ago, including some classic brawls against his chief rival, Swarm. Ram took it to Tricks early on, but couldn’t overcome the maniacal madman’s cheating tactics in the end. Will Tricks get another rematch with his blood enemy Swarm??
THE SECOND MATCH. The Belfast Bruiser (bootleg of mine) (1) d. “Irish” Pat Flanagan (and yet another bootleg of mine) (3) by the dreaded Four Leaf Leglock in 13:58 (**). The Bruiser-Flanagan rivalry goes back to their early training days together. The Bruiser has always felt he was underrated as a wrestler, and he really proved it here in this contest with Flanagan. Flanagan is a part of a group led by Morpheus that fashions themselves as classic mat men. This only antagonizes the Bruiser even further!
THE THIRD MATCH. The Archangels (0) p. The Bodydonnas (3) by Elysium’s Charge in just a shade under 6:00 (*3/4). Archangels of “GWF Champions” were looking for a win, and got it against one of the flashier teams of “Classic”. Candido mocked the Archangels use of wings in their robes when they came to ringside, but wasn’t laughing much when he was knocked senseless by Gabriel! The Bodydonnas’ manager Larry Sweeney was sent scurrying from ringside after a strong look from Exodus!
THE FOURTH MATCH. Dan Severn (3) d. Mighty Grogan (6) by the bow and arrow in 14:58, in a very good scientific bout, showcasing both men’s mat skills (****). Severn makes his home right now on GWF Classic, but he, along with renowned classic mat men George Hackenschmidt and Strangler Lewis (the stable known as “Shooters, Inc.”), have been testing their mettle against the very strong quartet of traditional style wrestlers from “GWF Champions” known as “Old School”, those being Morpheus, Mighty Grogan, Dante Giordano of Cetus (a bootleg of mine), and “Irish” Pat Flanagan (another bootleg of mine). Sparks flew a few cards ago, when Severn and Hackenschmidt made it known that “GWF Classic” was truly the home of “real” wrestling. Morpheus and his cronies took exception to this of course, and the battle is now on! Grogan did show a bit of a heelish nature in this contest, pulling the ref in front of him to take a charge from Severn in a cowardly act (what a cad!).
THE FIFTH MATCH. Wolf (1) d. Kill Prey (1) by DQ in 7:14 (**). This was a wild one, and one of the better feuds of this second half of 2008, as one might expect. The match was marred by a vicious attack by Kill Prey’s partner, the Bounty Hunter, resulting in the quick DQ call by the official. “The Hunters” (Bounty Hunter, Kill Prey, and Nefarus) have been waging war against Wolf and his comrades the Andromedans for months now. Only recently, it has really escalated into a terrific battle. There has been a lot of blood spilled in these ring wars, and it could only get worse. So much hatred has developed over the years between Hunter and Wolf. So much hatred…
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, SIXTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE GWF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: VARSITY (c) vs. MORPHEUS. These two rivals have met twice before, with Varsity (the world’s greatest wrestler…just ask him!) winning both occasions. Varsity captured the GWF Gold from Endgame, and this bout tonight is his first defense of the title. Varsity has always had a chip on his shoulder for not being included in “Old School”, and he just loves to take it out on Morpheus (former 3-time GWF champion himself).
And this one did not disappoint! In a (****1/2) Match of the Year Candidate, Varsity (3) (first title defense) p. Morpheus (7) by the PCD in 29:42!! A tale of two matches here. Morpheus came out with a vengeance, planting Varsity to the mat with a combination of slams and his feared finisher! But slowly, Varsity came back, and continued to work over Morpheus’s shoulder and back, until finally getting the win with the PCD. Varsity (the world’s greatest wrestler…just ask him!) really took things out on Morpheus, kicking and stomping the big man at will, taunting him in the late minutes after Morpheus’s face was stained and covered with a crimson mask. There is a lot of hostility between these two, and given the fact that all of their matches have been great, they could be heading a to a big blow-off match soon!
That’ll do it for this edition of GWF Champions fans.
Be sure to tune in to the next edition of GWF Classic. Matches on this great card include the following:
-A rematch between 2 leading contenders for the new World Junior Heavyweight Title, Mike Quackenbush and Larry Sweeney! The two went to a draw their first time out.
-A big match to determine the #1 contender for Baba’s World Heavyweight Crown between Bruno Sammartino (LOW Bootleg) and Harley Race.
-And, one of the stranger title matches you’ll ever hope to see between champ Tiger Mask and challenger Nick Bockwinkel for TM’s Heritage Heavyweight Title! Tiger Mask is the lightest man to ever hold a heavyweight crown in the GWF’s rich 10+ year history, and this should be a sight to behold!
