GWF CHAMPIONS (# 1228)
August 30, 2008 Felt Forum New York, NY
THE FIRST MATCH. Tricks (0) d. Iron Mane (3) with Coulrophobia in 11:17 (**). Everyone’s favorite sadistic clown continues to antagonize the Andromedans, this time taking down one of their all time champions, Iron Mane, with his despicable tactics. Tricks is quickly becoming one of the most hated men to enter the area in some time.
THE SECOND MATCH. The Troubleshooters (0) made their return to a GWF ring triumphant by defeating arch rivals U.S. Male and Commander Sam (1) with a High Angle Sweeping Kick in 13:27 (**). Male and Sam looked really lost in this match, generating hardly any offense, while Muss and The Bomb just toyed with them, at times taunting them openly to fight back. It’s been awhile since the T-Shooters were in town, and fans can be sure that their brash ways will once again serve to stir up controversy…and a long list of opponents wanting to take them down!
THE THIRD MATCH. “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase (0) d. Justice (0) by DQ in 12:40 (**). DiBiase continues to antagonize K.O. Keller and his friends, this time smashing Justice with a steel chair! DiBiase wanted to send a message to Keller that his time is coming at WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE! Keller has heard that message loud and clear, and has stated that in no uncertain terms, “…DiBiase is going to feel the wrath of the Working Man courtesy of my taped fists!”
THE FOURTH MATCH. Lance At-Las (2) d. The Main Event (4) with the Martian Manhandler in 23:22 (***1/4). Great showing by the newcomer Main Event, although in the end, it was At-Las’s experience that won out. The Main Event did manage to rough Lance up pretty well, all things considered, so Lance “felt” this victory! At-Las continues to position himself firmly in the thick of the title picture, at the very least for an I/C title shot.
THE FIFTH MATCH. Paralyze & Havoc (0) d. The Keepers of the Stone (2) with the feared Paralyzer in 11:20 (**). The newest rendition of the Gladiators makes a stop in the GWF, and boy, did they ever look great against one of the GWF’s most consistent teams. Rouge was very lucky he wasn’t hurt after suffering the painful effects of the Paralyzer. We aren’t sure how long The Gladiators are going to stay in town, or if they’re just passing through, but they did send a message loud and clear to The Master Race that they are a force to be reckoned with!
THE SIXTH MATCH. “The Fabulous” Kurt Anderson (one of Dale B.’s great bootlegs) (2) d. Alpha Force (7) with the Upper Echelon in 27:07 (***1/4). Pretty darn good match, although it got fairly one-sided at the end. Alpha Force bled buckets…boy did he juice badly! Anderson continued to just wear out one of the GWF’s best and brightest. Both men are perennial World Title contenders, although Anderson just showed why he’s one of the world’s greatest wrestlers with this showing.
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Tauran (5) (1st title defense) and Wraith (1) went to a Double Count-Out Draw in 12:59 (**1/2). Boy, was Tauran lucky that this match ended up like it did, as Wraith was in full command of this contest, cruising to his first I/C title! The match spilled outside of the ring, however, and quickly deteriorated into a slugfest, resulting in neither man making it back into the ring to beat the count. The action is fast and furious in the GWF, so making the most of one’s title chances is critical. Did Wraith squander this opportunity, or will there be a rematch??
That’ll do it for this action-filled edition of GWF CHAMPIONS ladies and gents! This was the final card before the highly anticipated WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE mega-blockbuster, and it didn’t disappoint! It was great to see some new faces in a GWF ring tonight, although some of them are really legends of the sport, and are only “new” insomuch as they haven’t competed in the GWF in some time. The fans are hopeful that they will be able to catch more of Alpha Force, Kurt Anderson, and even the hated Troubleshooters in the weeks ahead!
And now, it is all-systems ahead with that “Super Card unlike any other” WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE! At stake is nothing less than the pride of the GWF and the old WWA. Bad blood is going to spill at this mega event, so be sure to get your ticket in advance!
The GWF.

Another GREAT card my friend!!
Tricks is such a great character. I love how he is dismantling the entire Andromedan roster single-handedly! LOL!!
Lance At-Las might be on his way to an I/C Title shot, but have we heard the last of the Main Event or is there a possible mini-feud waiting for Lance before he gets to the Title shot???
Can't believe that Alpha got handled the way that he did! WOW!
Tauran v. Wraith = REMATCH! NO DQ! NO COUNT OUT! There MUST be a winner here!!!
Keep it up buddy! You are doing GREAT!!

WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE August 31, 2008 Madison Square Garden New York, NY THE FIRST MATCH. Baron Von Raschke & Fritz Von Goering (1) d. Commander Sam & U.S. Male (4) with a Chair Shot (while the ref’s back was turned of course) in 14:15 (**1/2). Oh those evil rascals Von Rashcke and Von Goering! Will they stop at nothing to prove their superiority?? Commander Sam was busted wide open after the chair shot, drawing the fans’ ire even more! THE SECOND MATCH. “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase (0) d. “The Working Man’s Champion” K.O. Keller with the Million Dollar Sleeper in 10:39 (**). And more boos rained down from the fans! DiBiase was elated, and strutted around the ring in all his glory after the decision! When Keller came to, he pounded the mat in frustration, and afterwards, stated that he would make sure he eventually defeats DiBiase for all the ordinary Joe’s out there! THE THIRD MATCH. Morpheus (1) d. George Hackenschmidt (1) with the Cobra Grip in 25:14 (***1/4). This was a great match, very even, with both men getting in extended runs of offense. Morpheus proved to be the better man in this contest, however, and scored a victory for the old GWF in this battle to prove who had…and has…the best “pure” grapplers! THE FOURTH MATCH (non-title). The Master Race (1) d. The Fabulous Kangaroos (3) by DQ in 9:40 (**). This match was just starting to get interesting, with the Kangaroos starting to mount a comeback, when the action spilled out of the ring and got out of hand. So, nothing is truly settled between these two great tag-teams, at least for now. As for which team will win the Tag-Team of the Year, well, the smart money is still on the Kangaroos! THE FIFTH MATCH. The “Original Hardcore Icon” (the) Sheik (3) d. Wolf (3) by DQ in 17:57 (***1/4). While the match ended in a DQ, it really didn’t mar what this contest was…an all out war from the opening bell! The Sheik controlled much of the action early on, and even nailed Wolf with a Fireball. Yet, Wolf gallantly battled back, urged on by the thousands of fans who wanted to see “The Savage One” triumph in this ultimate test of two brawling greats! While Wolf technically lost this contest by DQ, the fans cheered like crazy when he slammed Sheik to the concrete floor! Something tells this reporter there will be a rematch down the road! THE SIXTH MATCH. Bruno Sammartino (0) d. Godsend (3) with a Backbreaker in 5:44 (*3/4). Bruno was not going to be denied tonight, and he stormed into the ring and took Godsend apart very quickly! This was a victory for what is right in wrestling, the proud and mighty warrior vanquishing the deceitful and treacherous heel in honest fashion. Bruno left the ring to the absolute roar of the crowd, while Godsend was left to lick his wounds after an utter thrashing. Knowing Godsend, however, he will not go quietly into the night after this defeat… THE SEVENTH MATCH (non-title). Giant Baba (2) d. Kill Prey (1) with the incredible Neckbreaker Drop in 12:32 (**1/2). What a great win for Baba, the current World Heavyweight Champion of GWF CLASSIC! This has been a terrific feud, having started many months ago during a random match between the two men. Kill Prey stalked Baba early in this match, testing his mettle and trying to wear down Baba (Kill Prey had actually gotten to +4 on his finisher very, very early, so it was looking grim for Baba). But Baba capitalized on one critical mistake by Kill Prey after KP went to the top turnbuckle for a big Knee Drop attempt, and pulverized him with the Neckbreaker Drop. Honestly, as most of Baba’s opponents have discovered, the Neckbreaker Drop is one of the most dreaded weapons in all of wrestling! It just took one of these, and Kill Prey was down for the count! What a great year for Baba! THE MAIN EVENT: LUMBERJACK MATCH, ONE FALL, TO A FINISH. Endgame (0) d. Harley Race (4) with a Rolling Figure Four in 9:12 (*1/2). The main event saw the icon of the original GWF just dismantle the bitter Harley Race, and put him away with his version of the figure four in relatively short fashion. The action, in fact, never really spilled out of the ring, denying the assembled “lumberjacks” any chance at retribution. Endgame was fired up, and really took the challenge of representing the old GWF to heart. Race really didn’t stand a chance tonight, and will have to wait until another time to exact his revenge against the federation that, in his eyes, “ruined” wrestling by purchasing the old federations that Race loved. Whew! The “Supercard Unlike Any Other” is now in the books, and let’s assess the damage! The old WWA won the battle of the matches, winning 5 of them to just 3 for the old GWF. But, in a battle to settle which federation truly had the best grapplers, Morpheus was victorious. And, in the big Main Event, it was Endgame who was triumphant, striking a major blow for the old GWF in vanquishing one of the WWA’s best in Race.
A lot of interesting feuds have certainly not been settled by this mega-card. Witness DiBiase vs. Keller, The Sheik vs. Wolf, even Bruno vs. Godsend. These feuds may have only begun tonight, and may indeed be spilling over to subsequent cards soon!
And, the fans who attended tonight’s historic event were for the most part unanimous in their enthusiastic support of this card. Many of the fans openly wondered if the GWF would eventually truly merge its two “brands” of wrestling, and have one unified World Champion. After tonight, it is apparent that both the old WWA and GWF were pretty darn even in terms of strength, and the question or possibility of a true Unified and Undisputed World Champion is an intriguing one.
Just make sure you continue to keep it tuned to the GWF wrestling fans to follow these developments. And, thank you for your continued support!
The GWF.

GWF CLASSIC (#1230)
September 2, 2008 Felt Forum, MSG New York, NY
THE FIRST MATCH. J.D. Michaels (0) d. Arik Cannon (3) with a Top Rope Elbow in 5:54 (*3/4). Another win for Michaels over Cannon, and this one wasn’t even close. Will Michaels push his way into the Junior Heavyweight Title picture?
THE SECOND MATCH. Iron Mike DiBiase & Claudio Castagnoli (0) d. The Archangels (2) with a Tope Rope Knee Drop in 7:53 (**). DiBiase and Castagnoli made relatively short work of the visiting Angels, really roughing up Gabriel in the process!
THE THIRD MATCH. Painmaster (1) d. Diamond Dallas Page (2) with The Torture Chamber in 19:21 (**3/4). In yet another inter-brand match up, it was the malevolent Painmaster triumphing over GWF newcomer DDP. Page really had his opportunities, and at one point nailed the ‘Master with an-out-of-the-blue Diamond Cutter, but the wily old vet Painmaster just had too many tricks up his sleeve!
THE FOURTH MATCH. The Armstrongs & Mike Quackenbush (4) d. The Midnight Express & Adam Pearce (2) with the Quackendriver II in 14:55 (**1/2). Another heated match between the Midnight and the Armstrongs, resulting in some mighty stiff shots administered during the match. The ending saw Quack plant Condrey into the mat, which sent the Armstrongs into exultation, and Jim Cornette into whining and moaning at losing to them again!
THE FIFTH MATCH. Ox Baker (1) d. Larry “The Axe” Hennig (3) with a Heart Punch in 19:10 (**3/4). This battle of big men didn’t resemble a wrestling match, but was more akin to two dinosaurs plodding around the ring. Only, when either of the two combatants did manage to land a blow, it resounded throughout the Felt Forum! The ending was especially dramatic in that it took Baker 3…count ‘em…3 Heart Punches to slow and eventually stop Hennig in his tracks!
THE SIXTH MATCH. Another inter-brand match up took place as Colossus (0) locked horns again with Killer Kowalski (2), resulting in a DQ win for Colossus as Kowalski lost his temper, and slammed Colossus to the floor in 8:16 (*1/2). Wow…looks like Killer didn’t take too kindly to his defeat at the hands of Colossus before When Worlds Collide! Well, that’s our Killer for us…the man is given to fits of rage!
(Interlude…)
THE SCENE: GWF headquarters, New York, NY. The office of the Commissioner. A tall masked man paces back and forth behind his desk, as he watches the latest edition of GWF CLASSIC on his television. His right hand is gloved, covering a menacing…some say “iron-like”…fist. He is thinking of the future.
His future…and the GWF’s.
“So, it is finally to come to pass that I will take my place as the rightful leader of this federation. So be it. I have prepared my whole life for this.
The first order of the day is to crush any and all hope of opposition to my vision. If it includes physical displays of my power, again, so be it. Omega and the Board were fools if they thought I’d meekly announce my reign. No, I shall enter not with a whimper, but with a roar.
And, I shall do it at the most opportune time to make an impact. And then, once I have their attention, I shall charter a course for the GWF that will make it reign supreme as the preeminent wrestling federation in the entire world. No longer will there be this nonsense of 2 World Champions. There can…and should…be only one.
If the GWF is to be the greatest wrestling promotion on this planet, it will need only one standard bearer. This WILL come to pass.
And I will crush anyone…ANYONE…who stands in my way…”
(Back to the action)
THE SEVENTH MATCH. Richard Hutton (0) d. Larry Zbyszko (5) with an Abdominal Stretch in 11:39 (**12). Larry Z., who had been on track for a World Heavyweight Title shot, was derailed in this contest by Hutton, who just punished him from pillar to post! For Hutton, this was yet another impressive victory in the last few months for him, and it could catapult him into at least Heritage title consideration!
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE HERITAGE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. Tiger Mask (0) (5th Title Defense) d. Chris Hero (1) with a Jumping Spin Kick in just 5:18 (*). Wow, talk about your surprise endings! The match had barely started when Tiger Mask just pummeled Hero with a beautiful spinning kick, knocking Hero out, and sending manager Larry Sweeney into hysterics! Tiger Mask continues to experience just a tremendous year so far, and is definitely a candidate for Wrestler of the Year! Again, he is the smallest man to ever hold a heavyweight title in the WWA/GWF’s history, so this title run of his is indeed special!
That concludes another action packed edition wrestling fans! This card featured 3 great inter-brand match ups, in response to the fans wanting to see more of the stars of the old WWA pitted against classic GWF stars. We’re happy to report that due to the success of WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE, the GWF will be featuring more and more of these types of match ups, as GWF management is committed to giving the fans what they want, and more!
Keep it tuned here wrestling fans, as another great edition of GWF CHAMPIONS will be on its way soon, with a big Main Event showdown between Tauran and Wraith for the Intercontinental Title!
The GWF.
Don’tcha Dare Miss it!

Stu, Excellent stuff my friend. When Worlds Collide was a success and I definately think another Supercard like that should be held. Great intro for Iron Hand. If he is committed to unifying the titles, will there be roster cuts as well? Without the 2 brands a lot of guys might get lost in the shuffle and not get the title opportunities they rightfully deserve! We will have to keep following along to find out!!

GWF CHAMPIONS (#1231)
September 5, 2008 Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto, Ontario, Canada
THE FIRST MATCH. Steve Corino and Ricky Landell (1) d. Pit Viper and Renegade (5) with a Fisherman’s Buster in 11:25 (**). Nice win for Corino and Landell here over fan favorites Pit Viper and Renegade.
THE SECOND MATCH. “Irish” Pat Flanagan (3) d. Shylock (5) with a Clover Leaf Leglock in 19:42 (***1/2). Great classic confrontation between the scientific wrestler and the brawler! This time, it was the wrestler Flanagan proving to be too much for Shylock in this terrific contest! Shylock has befriended Flanagan’s arch nemesis The Belfast Bruiser, so expect more sparks between these two down the road!
THE THIRD MATCH. Tricks (5) d. Swarm (2) by DQ in 19:08 (***). Despite the DQ ending, and because of the heat between these two combatants, this was a darn good match. So much hatred has developed between these two men that the wrestling ring can barely contain it now! Tricks seems to delight in annoying and tormenting all things Andromedan, and Swarm has now dedicated his entire career it seems towards getting revenge against the mad clown!
THE FOURTH MATCH. Anivar (3) d. The Amazing Mann (6) on Rules of the Game in 14:21 (**3/4). Finally, Anivar exacts revenge against a hated rival! For Mann, this match was one of the more lopsided defeats of his otherwise stellar GWF run. Even Vin Strutter couldn’t stop the tidal wave that was Anivar in this contest. Anivar really took it to Mann right from the opening bell, gladly taking 2 blows from Mann for every 3 he inflicted!
THE FIFTH MATCH. Blizzard (0) d. Sly Drury (0) by DQ in 7:26 (*3/4). Sly Drury’s return to a GWF ring was pretty non-descript, as he lost his temper against the, arguably, best pound-for-pound wrestler in the world today, Blizzard. This match went ugly early!
THE SIXTH MATCH. Paragon (0) d. Justice (5) by The Final Overture in 13:39 (**1/2). Paragon just earned himself a World Title shot with this defeat of one of the hottest wrestlers in the entire GWF. A lot was at stake in this contest, and “The Big Man” just destroyed Justice, and faces a showdown with Varsity!
THE SEVENTH MATCH. The Troubleshooters (4) d. The Archangels (1) with Trouble Times Two in 11:10 (**). Great comeback by the ‘Shooters, who looked D.O.A. at the beginning of this match, surviving a furious onslaught by the ‘Angels! The ‘Shooters are always a title threat, although they do happen to irritate the fans quite a bit!
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Tauran (0) d. Wraith (4) with a Schoolboy Roll Up in 18:12 (**1/2). This match settled a few old scores, as Tauran really “schooled” Wraith, just making this match an exhibition contest of his great skill. Really, Wraith was lost out there, as Tauran dominated the entire last half of this contest! Tauran started to enjoy and bask in the cheers of the crowd….
…Maple Leaf Gardens goes entirely dark for about 8-10 seconds…
…lights come back up, finding a large masked man standing in the center of the ring. Tauran and Wraith are both knocked cold, and lay prone on the mat.
The masked man raises a large gloved fist in the air, and prepares to speak.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a new Sherriff in town.
And business is about to pick up.”
