WRESTLING AT THE FORUM (#1234)
September 19, 2008 Felt Forum New York, NY
THE FIRST MATCH. The Killer Bees (3) d. The Medics (Dr. Payne and The Surgeon) (1) by DQ in 4:52 (*). Another tension-filled contest between these two feuding factions. They are heading towards another showdown at UNIFIED!
THE SECOND MATCH. Ox Baker (0) d. Magnum TA (2) with a Neckbreaker in 13:11 (**1/4). Magnum’s triumphant debut in New York was rudely ruined by the giant Baker, who made sure the only welcome the wildly popular TA would receive was a black and blue one! Magnum is actually a former WWA World Heavyweight Champion, and would love to capture past glory, but for now, he’s got his hands full with Baker!
THE THIRD MATCH. Diamond Dallas Page (0) d. King Kong Bundy (1) with a Diamond Cutter in just :56 (dud)!! Page’s winning ways continue, and his Diamond Cutter continues to be a lethal weapon, this time knocking out Bundy in under a minute!
THE FOURTH MATCH. Ted DiBiase and Claudio Castagnoli (2) d. The West Texas Outlaws (bootlegs of mine) (3) by DQ in 18:30 (**1/4). Another philosophy clash here, with the workman-like Outlaws running up against the greedy DiBiase and his disciple Castagnoli. The fans cheered the Outlaws in this contest, enjoying every blow they inflicted upon the Million Dollar Man!
THE FIFTH MATCH. “The Fabulous” Kurt Anderson (0) d. “Irish” Pat Flanagan (4) with The Upper Echelon in 18:52 (**3/4). Anderson is emerging as a legitimate World Title threat, and really looked sharp in dispatching Flanagan in this contest, a skilled grappler in his own right. Anderson faces a showdown…just announced !...at UNIFIED with Bruno Sammartino for the #1 Contender’s spot, and a shot at the World Championship after UNIFIED.
THE SIXTH MATCH. Ken Patera (0) d. Johnny Powers (1) by Count-Out in 9:28 (*3/4). “The World’s Strongest Man” slammed Powers hard to the concrete floor, then watched in seeming delight as Powers struggled to make it back into the ring to beat the count…which he didn’t! Patera makes quite a debut in New York, punishing the popular Powers, and making a statement that he’s ready for all comers! Will Powers get a chance at revenge??!
THE SEVENTH MATCH. The amazing Bruiser Brody (0) d. Larry Zbyszko (3) with his patented Jumping Knee Drop in 13:29 (**). The fans were just in awe of the visiting Brody, and sat in stunned silence at times watching the big man perform moves that no man his size should’ve been able to do. It certainly helped his popularity this evening that he took out his energy on the hated Zbyszko! For Brody, this is hopefully the start of a long lasting relationship with the GWF. Only New York City could be big enough for this incredibly talented star! Rumor has it that what Brody really wants is an opportunity to lock horns with Wolf…
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE HERITAGE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. In a rematch, Tiger Mask (0) (6th Title Defense) d. Gorgeous George (3) with a Tiger Suplex in just 3:57 (dud). Gorgeous George was the man Tiger Mask originally defeated for the title, and tonight, it sure didn’t seem that the high flyer was ready to give up his championship, as he had George bewildered from the start! Tiger Mask is proving that size isn’t the sole determining factor of a true champion. His impressive title reign is certainly evidence of that, and he’s had such a great year, that’s he’s meriting serious consideration for Wrestler of the Year!
That does it for this action-packed edition wrestling fans. Be sure to continue to watch for more announcements of the card as it takes shape for UNIFIED! You will not want to miss this one folks, it will be a moment where history is made!
Coming up on the next star-studded edition of “WATF”:
-Killer Queen takes on Bob Armstrong (will Armstrong put up with Queen’s antics?)
-Angelo Mosca looks to avenge fellow Canadian Killer Kowalski as he takes on Colossus
-Pepper Gomez takes on the Terrible Turk in a continuation of their feud
-The Greek Gods continue their GWF run with a match against The Midnight Express
-And, in the Main Event, Tauran defends his coveted Intercontinental Championship against Nightmare!
The GWF.
Don’tcha Dare Miss it!

WRESTLING AT THE FORUM (#1235)
September 20, 2008 Felt Forum New York, NY
THE FIRST MATCH. Killer Queen (0) d. Bob Armstrong (5) by Count-Out in 26:27 (***). In a clash of philosophies, the showy and flamboyant Killer Queen took out a lot of frustration on the man’s man, Bob Armstrong! Armstrong was punished from pillar to post, and Queen seemed to delight in doling it (the punishment) out. Tonight, it was the showy Queen who triumphed over the more reserved Armstrong, and fans can be sure Bullet Bob will want a rematch!
THE SECOND MATCH. Avarice & Vanity (4) d. The Neptunian Space Croppers (3) with the 7th Sin in 10:56 (**). It seems that Avarice has joined the fight against the Space Croppers, but tonight, those feisty Space Croppers weren’t going to go down easily! Vanity was worked over pretty badly, but thanks to Avarice, his team picks up the win.
THE THIRD MATCH. Angelo Mosca (2) got a little revenge for his buddy Killer Kowalski and defeated Colossus (1) with a Sleeper in 10:17 (**1/4). A bit of a surprise here, but Mosca was not to be denied tonight. Colossus has run roughshod over Kowalski, and Mosca, being an adopted Canadian, resents the fact that Team Canada is being humiliated! Mosca looks to move up in the rankings after this victory.
THE FOURTH MATCH. Ken Patera (0) d. Johnny Powers (2) with a Swinging Full Nelson in 5:01 (*). A return match from the previous card sees Patera take down Powers again, this time with his finishing move. Powers hasn’t been able to mount much of an attack against Patera in both matches, and has been a disappointment so far.
THE FIFTH MATCH. In another slobberknocker, Pepper Gomez (2) d. The Terrible Turk by DQ in 14:30 (**1/2). Folks, this is turning into a dandy of a feud, as The Turk seems to delight in inflicting pain and punishment upon the fan favorite Gomez. Gomez for his part continues to fight gamely against the larger Turk, but cannot seem to take the full measure of the madman! Gomez will be turning to his friend Yukon Eric for some support in this battle!
THE SIXTH MATCH. Alpha Force (5) d. Sly Drury (2) with a schoolboy roll-up in 28:31 (****!). Terrific match, which saw Drury with numerous opportunities to put away the GWF legend Alpha Force. The ever resourceful Alpha Force managed to kick out again and again of pin fall attempts, and showed Drury why its so important, when you have Alpha Force down, to put him away.
THE SEVENTH MATCH. The Midnight Express (0) d. The Greek Gods (1) by DQ in 14:30 (**). This was very heated from the start, with Cornette antagonizing the Gods, getting under Proteus’s skin especially. These two top contending teams will no doubt meet again, to try and settle this score.
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Tauran (2) (3rd title defense) d. Nightmare (1) with a Tauran Victory Lock in 10:53 (**). Tauran wasted very little time in dispatching Nightmare, and retaining the title of the Intercontinental Division (i.e., the COTG wrestlers). The maniacal Nightmare came out of the gate blazing, but Tauran is proving to be a very resourceful wrestler, and didn’t get rattled. Instead, he looked for an opening, and locked on his powerful finishing hold, ending the contest pretty abruptly.
And now, a word from our Commissioner…
“Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for your patronage tonight. We hope you are enjoying our new format, and want to remind you all to make your plans to witness the most historic wrestling card of this great federation’s history. With UNIFIED, our glorious federation will take the final step towards ultimate wrestling supremacy, not only in New York, but throughout the world. Our unified champions will be recognized as truly, the best wrestlers in the world.
Do not miss this historic card. In my estimation, there can be only one true champion, one standard bearer, and at UNIFIED, we will make sure that situation is resolved.
And if you don’t like it…talk to the Hand!”
(End Show)

Powers hasn’t been able to mount much of an attack against Patera in both matches, and has been a disappointment so far. Clearly, you're not using the proper Johnny Powers card with all finishers, defensive reversals and a PIN 0 (-3). Perhaps he's depressed about not being in the main event every night! Good job Stu!

The GWF Proudly Presents…
UNIFIED (#1236)
September 27, 2008 Madison Square Garden New York, NY
THE FIRST MATCH. Diamond Dallas Page (0) d. Larry Zbyszko (2) with a Chest Breaker in 10:08 (*3/4). DDP is on a roll ladies and gentlemen, and his winning ways continue with this opening match on this historic wrestling card!! DDP may in fact have set himself up to be a contender for the Heritage Title, the new championship of the Heritage Division (i.e., the Legends wrestlers).
THE SECOND MATCH. The Killer Bees (1) d. The Medics (1) by DQ in 14:23 (**). For the Bees, its just another injustice they have suffered at the hands of the nefarious Medics, again getting roughed up by the rule breaking team. This time, it was The Surgeon who posted B. Brian Blair outside of the ring, setting off another brawl! With so much tension between these warring parties, there is going to have to be a stipulation match soon to settle scores!
THE THIRD MATCH. Lance At-Las (1) p. The Main Event (3) with the Martian Manhandler in 13:04 (**). Victory for At-Las over his rival, the brash newcomer Main Event! This time, At-Las was not to be denied, and he took it to the upstart with a vengeance! Look for At-Las to get an Intercontinental Title shot soon!
THE FOURTH MATCH. Mandrill (1) beat the living tar out of Max Shield (6), finally finishing him off with the Colonizer Claw Slam in 18:36 (**1/2). At times, it seemed that Mandrill was just toying with Shield, and then he finally got bored with the exercise, and just planted Shield in the mat. Trust us folks, this feud has not been one-sided at all, but tonight, Mandrill wanted to announce his reappearance in the GWF loudly, and for all to hear, by destroying his most hated rival! The Andromedan looked extremely impressive tonight, that’s for sure, and will be an immediate contender to not only the Intercontinental Title, but the World Title to boot! Will Shield get another crack at Mandrill during their respective stays in New York???
THE FIFTH MATCH. Bruno Sammartino (2) d. “The Fabulous” Kurt Anderson (4) with a Bear Hug in 16:18 (***). By virtue of this victory, Sammartino becomes the new #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, and will face the winner of tonight’s historic unification match! Bruno got a thunderous ovation from the Garden faithful, who have always loved the Italian strongman with an unrivalled passion. The pop Bruno received when he finally finished off Anderson blew the roof off the Garden, as Anderson is universally loathed for his cocky attitude.
THE SIXTH MATCH. In a much anticipated rematch from “WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE”, it was The Sheik (2) emerging victorious over Wolf (5) with a Camel Clutch in 22:19 (***1/2). The original hardcore Icon bit, scratched, jabbed, stabbed, and generally annoyed the madman of the GWF, and even mixed in a Fireball for good measure about half way through this contest! The fans were hot for this contest, and once again, they were not disappointed, as these two veteran brawlers tore into each other once more. The Sheik, with this win, has established himself as another top contender for the Heritage Heavyweight Championship, and may in fact, again by virtue of this win, earned a shot at Tiger Mask soon for the championship of the Heritage Division. Rest assured, however, that Wolf will not rest until he has bested The Sheik, and drawn Syrian blood.
SEMI-MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, SIXTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE UNIFIED GWF WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP. The Fabulous Kangaroos (2) d. The Master Race (6) with a Marble Bor Leglock in 19:44 to become the first Unified World Tag-Team Champions (***)! Congrats to the hands-down tag-team of the year in capturing this historic victory! The lightning-fast tags, and overall terrific teamwork of the Kangaroos proved to be too much for the plodding Thraxx, who wasn’t able to get into position to properly use his power. Commissioner Iron Hand came down to ringside to award the Unified belts to the Kangaroos, and congratulate them.
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, 60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE UNIFIED GWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. And…drum roll please…Paragon (0) d. Giant Baba (3) with the Final Overture to become the first GWF Unified World Heavyweight Champion in 17:23 (**3/4). The “Big Man” makes history, defeating arguably the Wrestler of the Year (although Rikidozan may have something to say about that) in Giant Baba to become the true king of the hill in the GWF. For Paragon, this may have been his single best performance, as he was in command of this contest right from the opening bell. Baba was never able to seize any opening to slap on the Neckbreaker Drop, thanks in large part to Paragon’s relentless offensive attack. Commissioner Iron Hand again came to ringside to congratulate the new Unified World Champion, and awarded him his title!
We thank you GWF fans for tuning in to this historic card in this great federation’s glorious history. We now have 2 Unified World Champions in singles and tag competition, just like our beloved Commissioner’s vision dictated…um…demanded…um…requested….yes, that’s it, requested. Standard bearers are now established, and it will be the goal of each and every wrestler who comes to New York to eventually reach this pinnacle.
Be sure to continue to follow the events as we now move towards our year-end annual super card, “WrestleFest”. There are a lot of great feuds brewing in the GWF, in both the Heritage and Intercontinental Divisions as well as between the divisions themselves, and “WrestleFest” may in fact settle some of these rivalries. This much we know: It’s going to be a wild and exciting ride getting there!
The GWF.
Don’tcha Dare Miss It!

WOW...I went 6-2 on my picks!! That Mandrill card is a freakin BEAST & Shield's card has always been lackluster for me so the beating Mandrill put on him didn't surprise me at all. Bruno is the #1 contender & will win the Title I think Baba was ROBBED! Paragon is a paper champion...he will lose the Title in his first defense!! Can't wait for the next show! This one was AWESOME!!! Great job!!

WRESTLING AT THE FORUM (#1237)
October 3, 2008 Felt Forum New York, NY
THE FIRST MATCH. Battering Ram (2) d. Mike Fortune (3) by DQ in 21:22 (***). This was a very stiff match, which they usually are when they involve Battering Ram. The action spilled out of the ring, and got ugly, as Fortune decided he’d rather hurt Ram than win, and slammed Ram to the floor. There’s definitely going to be a rematch after this one!
THE SECOND MATCH. Those rascally Awesome Studs (4) d. The visiting Windriders (4) with the Muscle Ripper in 15:40 (**3/4). The Studs are just scoundrels, but in some ways, they are the scoundrels the fans just love to hate. The Windriders were really done in by the powerful Mr. Galaxy, who they just could not match up with physically.
THE THIRD MATCH. Magnum TA (0) and the giant Ox Baker (0) locked horns again, and this time it was a quick and ugly DQ in 9:32 (*3/4). Baker was called for the DQ when he wouldn’t release a chokehold he had on Magnum, who nearly passed out from lack of oxygen. This rivalry’s gotten heated folks, and the fans are really wanting Magnum to get some revenge, and soon!
THE FOURTH MATCH. Pepper Gomez & Yukon Eric (4) d. Sabu & The Terrible Turk (5) by DQ in 31:19 (***3/4). Something’s gotta give in this feud, and soon. The Turk continues to just delight in inflicting punishment and pain upon both Gomez and erstwhile big buddy Yukon Eric. Only this time, Gomez and Eric gained a bit of revenge in busting open Sabu, who bled buckets over the course of this contest. Look for a score or two to be settled between Turk and Gomez and Eric soon…or potentially, at WrestleFest, the year end extravaganza!
THE FIFTH MATCH. Nosfera (1) and Retribution (2) locked horns for the first time in a GWF ring, this time the demonic Nosfera emerging on top with the Demon’s Breath in 13:41 (**1/4). Retribution clutched at his eyes after taking the Demon’s Breath directly in the face, and writhed in pain for minutes after the match. A lot of hatred has built up here, through battles in other territories and other places and times. The fans were on the edge of their seats watching the wildly unpredictable Nosfera inflict pain and punishment on the big man.
THE SIXTH MATCH. Swarm (0) d. the debuting Paganax (1) with the Wasp Trap in 7:59 (*1/2). Wow! Did Swarm ever do a number on the awe-inspiring Paganax, whom the fans were really excited to see, knowing of his reputation from other territories and federations! Tonight though, it was their masked hero Swarm who was not to be denied, just putting a whuppin’ on the giant before he could collect himself and retaliate. Good win for Swarm, vaulting him into title considerations.
THE SEVENTH MATCH. Ken Patera (3) continued his impressive GWF run by defeating The Crusher (4) with a Swinging Full Nelson in 15:36 (***1/2). Great power match here, pitting the powerful moves of Patera against Crusher’s rib-crushing brawling. Both men took a beating, but it was Patera with his hand raised in the end. Patera has been impressive during his time in New York, and may have earned himself a Heritage Title shot down the road.
THE MAIN EVENT: ONE FALL, SIXTY-MINUTE TIME LIMIT, FOR THE HERITAGE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. And ladies and gentlemen, we have a new Heritage Heavyweight Champ! The original hardcore icon The Sheik (0) d. Tiger Mask (2) with the Camel Clutch in 11:15 (**1/4). The Sheik ended Tiger Mask’s impressive title reign, and fans are terrified, knowing how long The Sheik’s unholy reign of terror has been over in the NWF, that he will reign for a long time in the GWF. Will the GWF be able to survive a Sheik title reign??? Congrats go out to Tiger Mask for an especially impressive run with the Heritage Title. He proved once again its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that matters!
That’s it for this edition of Wrestling at the Forum GWF fans! Some impressive results tonight by wrestlers on the move here in New York, such as Patera and Swarm! And, the whole Heritage division is now staring up at the maniacal Sheik! With the ever present Abdullah Farouk by his side, we may be in for a lengthy title reign from the original hardcore icon!
Be sure to tune in to the next edition of WATF, where we will see a #1 Contender’s Match between the West Texas Outlaws and The Greek Gods, with the winner receiving a World Tag-Team Title shot!
The GWF.
Don’tcha Dare Miss It!
