*Main Event: "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan v. Iron Sheik (North American Champion)- The two men go after one another before the announcements are even finished being made! Both men trade offense frequently and furiously, with the two being both bloody messes by the time we get close to the final minutes of the match. Out of nowhere, a resurgent Jim Duggan manages to land an OLD GLORY KNEEDROP and follows it up with a FLYING SPEAR and a quick cover... easy three count and we have our winner! Winner of the match a new N.E.W. North American Champion: "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan!
This ^ was the highlight for me, anytime Duggan defeats the Iron Sheik is cool, but winning the gold is even better...

Thanks for reading and commenting, guys!
I think a stable made up of Ted DiBiase, Claudio Castagnoli, John and Chris Tolos has a lot of potential.
As for Duggan winning the gold, I was also very happy to see that for a few different reasons, not the least of which was for a while there all my champions were heels!
Things are getting interesting in N.E.W. I think: we have heels vs. faces as well as heel vs. heel fights and feuds!
It's only going to get better (I hope)!

Its always good to see the Hacksaw come away with a big win. He has had a rough run in my fed but lately is doing a lot better. I like the sound of Dibiase, Claudio, and John & Chris Tolos as a unit. That would be a tough crew for sure.

New Era Wrestling: Card 6- Hartford, CT:
Our introductory video package plays, showing mostly highlights of last week's North American Championship match and the Hacksaw's victory, and we open the show with our very own Cindy Shepherd in the middle of the ring, waiting to get started...
"Mad" Mike Cantrell: "Welcome once again, ladies and gentlemen, to yet another installment of New Era Wrestling, coming to you from N.E.W. Headquarters right here in historic downtown Hartford, Connecticut! As always, I'm joined by my colleague the one and only Frankie Saddler..."
Frankie Saddler: "Hello, everyone!"
Cantrell: "Let me tell you folks, as exciting as last week was with the title changing hands, tonight's going to be just as exciting! We have not only two titles being defended tonight, but we also have a match that will determine the next challenger for "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase's World Championship!"
Saddler: "That's right, folks. Commissioner Rick Murphy has gotten together with our C.E.O. and chosen two men who by right of how they did in the World Championship Title tournament will get to square off tonight, the winner to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship in two week's time!"
Cantrell: "Like I said, exciting stuff lined up tonight, as we also have the Women's and he Television Championships being contested tonight! Let's go to the ring!"
The lovely Cindy Shepherd is already in the center of the ring, about to do her part in bringing us...
* The Red Army (Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov) w/ Nikita Breznikov v. The James Gang (B.G. James & Kip James)- The action starts with Kip in the ring squaring off against big Nikolai. It's a hard-fought match with lots of tags on both sides, with the Russians maintaining control for the most part. About six minutes in, B.G. starts to make a comeback, but it is cut short by a running stomp that is quickly followed by a BACKBREAKER DROP for a pin attempt that sees Kip storm the ring with Boris attempting to cut him off! A quick elbow drop on Nikolai and it's B.G.'s chance to try a pin, but the big man easily kicks out of it! The James Gang is once again in control until things spill outside of the ring where Kip is overpowered by the resurgent Nikolai. Throwing the beaten Kip James into the ring, it's as easy as a quick tag to Boris Zhukov who hits the down man with a DIVING HEAD BUTT and a cover for the win. As the Red Army celebrates in the ring, we see that someone was watching the match from the entrance very closely, but we only get to see the briefest of glimpses before he turns and slips away. The winners of the match: The Red Army!
Cantrell: "Great match to open up our show with, Frankie. I have to wonder, though: can anyone stop the Red Army?"
Saddler: "It doesn't seem like it right now, but there's still a few tough nuts to crack in the tag division. We'll see how the Russians do against a team like the Road Warriors or the Sheepherders!"
Cantrell: "Now those might be matches to watch for!"
Saddler: "You said it!"
Cantrell: "Folks, I'm told that a little later we're going to have a special guest here in the commentator's booth, but we're going to keep it a surprise for now. Let's go back to the show!"
Once more Miss Shepherd is waiting in the ring to bring us...
* Austin Aries v. Nigel McGuiness w/ Johnny Saint- Fast and furious would be the best description of this match! Neither man is willing to lay down and call it a night, and soon both men end up on the outside, brawling wildly! It's everything the referee can do to keep things from getting too crazy! Nigel takes control and sends a winded and battered Aries back into the ring, where he falls prey to a well-timed JAWBREAKER LARIAT for the cover and the three-count! The winner of the match: Nigel McGuiness!
After the match, McGuiness gets his hands on Cindy's mic and addresses the crowd...
Nigel McGuiness: "As you can see... I'll beat any man you put in front of me! Claudio Castagnoli! I'm calling you out! That Television Championship is mine. You're just keeping it warm for me. Well, I'm coming for it. Mister Murphy! Make the match happen. Everyone wants to see it, don't you?"
McGuiness and Saint leave the ringside are and head to the back, then.
Cantrell: "Strong showing from one Nigel McGuiness, and stronger words for Television Champion Claudio Castagnoli!"
Saddler: "Who wouldn't want to see that match, Mike? I hope our General Manager makes it happen."
Cantrell: "Well, before we get to see McGuiness challenge Claudio for the title... the champion has to get past tonight's challenger, one Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine!"
Saddler: "Claudio or Valentine... it doesn't matter. McGuiness is after that Television title!"
Cantrell: "Well, you can't deny the man's ability, that's for sure. Okay, folks, we're going back to the action!"
The lovely Cindy Shepherd awaits us in the ring, ready once more to bring us...
* George "the Animal" Steele w/ Captain Lou Albano v. Chris Candido w/ Tammy Lynn Sytch- Steele takes the advantage early, but he keeps getting distracted by Tammy at ringside (even though she doesn't seem to really be trying) allowing Candido a breather now and again. It doean't take long for a frustrated Captain Lou to scold "the Animal" into behaving, and in no time Chris is on the receiving end of a FLYING HAMMERLOCK! Just then, Buff Bagwell invades the ring and attacks 'the Animal'! The referee has no choice but to disqualify Chris Candido! Bagwell mugs for the camera, pointing to Candido and to his own head, nodding slowly as if to show how smart he is. The Captain and the Animal celebrate in the ring, and Chris and Tammy are chased from the ringside area! The winner of the match (by disqualification): George 'the Animal' Steele!
Cantrell: "That sneaky son of a..."
Saddler: "Buff Bagwell costing Chris Candido the match must have been his plan the whole time!"
Cantrell: "I can only guess that right now Tammy is storming the General Manager's office and demanding a match to settle this! We'll keep you folks informed as more develops. For now, we have the first of tonight's title defenses... Women's Champion April Hunter once again defending against one Daizee Haze!"
Saddler: "This should be good, Mike. But then, I always do appreciate the chance to see April Hunter in action!"
Cantrell: "Alright, then! Let's go to the ring for the introductions!"
The radiant Miss Cindy Shepherd is already in the ring, making the introductions and really knocking it out of the park for...
* Daizee Haze v. "Big Red" April Hunter (Women's Champion)- The champion starts her offensive flurry before the introductions are even finished, sending Cindy Shepherd scurrying for cover! This is less a wrestling match and more of a fight to the death, with neither woman giving less than 110%. The champion is in control for most of the match. Daizee makes a few spirited comebacks here and there, it seems like it's almost too little, too late. In the closing minutes of the match April hits the HUNTER'S HANGMAN but Daizee refuses to give up! Enraged, the champion tosses her out onto the floor and whips Daizee into the guardrails! April doesn't relent in her assault on the challenger, forcing the referee's hand, and he's forced to disqualify the champion! April continues her assault on Daizee until a group of officials and Sara Del Rey manage to get the tow separated! The winner of the match (by disqualification): Daizee Haze!
Cantrell: "What a war, ladies and gentlemen! I know how the champion feels about the subject, but somehow I don't think this little feud is over. Far from it."
Saddler: "That may be true, but Daizee's had her shot at the title. It's time to let someone else take theirs."
Cantrell: "Maybe so, Frankie. At any rate, everyone, we are now joined by our special guest, one Mister Rob Van Dam! Hello, Rob."
Saddler: "Evening, Rob."
Rob Van Dam: "It's as much a pleasure for you as it is for me, guys. I'm not going to take too much of your time. Rob Van Dam is a busy man, and you're also busy doing... something. So I, Rob Van Dam, have come out here to make a little announcement if I may..."
Cantrell: "By all means, Rob."
RVD: "Thanks. See, there's way, way too many managers in N.E.W. and with all these little groups and gangs... even someone as amazing as RVD can be a little overwhelmed at times. So, with that in mind, I made a few phone calls. Bobby Heenan? You've got Mulligan, Bundy, Rude, Bockwinkle and Stevens, right? Well, RVD's got a team of his own, now: The House of Extreme! Come on out, guys!"
We are joined by The Sandman, Sabu, Justin Credible and a whistle-blowing Bill Alfonso!
RVD: "This should even the odds a little, don't you think? Heenan? You ready to get extreme?"
Cantrell: "Well, this is quite the announcement! not at all what I was expecting..."
Saddler: "What were you expecting?"
Cantrell: "I... good point. I have no idea. Back to the ring for tonight's Top Contender's match! The winner of this match will face World Champion Ted DiBiase in two weeks! Let's go to the action!"
Our lovely ring announcer makes herself heard, even over the still whistle-blowing Bill Alfonso, as she announces...
* The Crusher v. Antonio Inoki w/ Miss Hitomi- Crusher turns this from a wrestling match into a streetfight early on, taking advantage and holding onto it through-out most of the match. Inoki manages to get in some offense, but it comes too late to really change things. In the middle of the ring, Crusher hits Inoki with a CRUSHER BOLO and goes for the pin... but the Empire of the Rising Sun storm the ring and break up the pin! Before long, The James Gang is in the ring helping the Ctrusher fight of the Japanese team! Once order is restored, the referee announces the winner of the match (via disqualification): The Crusher!
Cantrell: "Wow. What a mess that was!"
Saddler: "You said it. Something needs to be done, here, Mike."
Cantrell: "I agree, but either way: The Crusher has a date with destiny in two weeks! Challenging "Million Dollar man" Ted DiBiase for the World Championship! I can't wait to see that one!"
Saddler: "Neither can I, Mike. I have a feeling that one will be something special."
Cantrell: "I'm sure it will. I just wonder if we'll get a clean match out of it... with no interference or run-ins and the like..."
Saddler: "Who knows. This promotion is like the Wild West, lately!"
Cantrell: "You know? That's an apt analogy, Frankie. Well, at any rate, it is time for tonight's Main Event: the Television Title Match. This one should be good."
Saddler: "Let's go to the ring!"
For the last time tonight, the lovely Cindy Shepherd does her duty, bringing us...
*Main Event: Greg "the Hammer" Valentine v. Claudio Castagnoli (Television Champion) w/ Ted DiBiase- Once more, Ted DiBiase is wearing a custom-tailored suit and carrying both his championship belt and a mysterious black briefcase to the ring. The Hammer starts off strong, really testing the limits of what the champion can handle. About five minutes into the contest, things spill out onto the floor, where a sneaky DiBiase manages to distract Valentine long enough for Claudio to get back into the ring, first. Taking over on offense, Castagnoli soon has Valentine wobbly from a VERY EUROPEAN UPPERCUT, and he goes for the pin... and gets a two count only! Once more going outside the ring, this time Valentine fights back and gets a weakened Castagnoli back into the ring and begins to set up the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK, but it's broken up by World Champion Ted DiBiase, who assaults the Hammer with the mysterious briefcase! Dazed and bloodied, Valentine is an easy target for the champion's NEUTRALIZER and is covered for the pinfall and the end of the match! The winner of the match and STILL the N.E.W. Television Champion: Claudio Castagnoli!
Cantrell: "Well, The Gentlemen's Club once more makes a 'successful' defense of the Television Title..."
Saddler: "That was a great match, though, Mike. I wonder what might have happened if the World Champion wasn't there to help his man secure the victory..."
Cantrell: "Well, we'll never know at this rate, Frankie. Something's gotta give, here. This lawlessness has to stop!"
Saddler: "Seems to me that the opposition just needs to get organized, too."
Cantrell: "You might be right, Frankie. That or our leadership needs to step in and enforce a little law and order! With that, folks, it's time for us to wrap up another edition of New Era Wrestling. For my broadcast partner and our colleague Cindy Shepherd, I bid you all a good night!"
*the End*

A big win for Claudio Castagnoli in the main event and I'm loving the feud between Daizee Haze and April Hunter. George Steele becoming distracted by Tammy Lynn Sytch can only lead to bad things

Liking the developments so far:
The Tolos' coming on as goons for DiBiase.
April Hunter (hopefully) shedding the pesky Daizee Haze.
RVD coming loaded for bear. He now has some strong back-up in this wild and woolly fed.
Looking forward to the DiBiase/Crusher match.

Thanks crue and ace! I'm glad you guys are getting into what I have to offer.
That said, I just made a purchase today of a couple of the PDF sets and the SHIMMER cards, so my roster of available talent should be growing soon!
I'm liking what I'm seeing so far... now I just have to figure out what to do with some of these guys (and girls).
Things will definitely pick up in the next few days/weeks!

New Era Wrestling: Card 7- Hartford, CT:
The standard introductory video brings us once again to N.E.W. Headquarters in Hartford, Ct. In the middle of the ring, ready to begin her announcing duties, is Cindy Shepherd.
"Mad" Mike Cantrell: "Hello once again, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome back to N.E.W. Headquarters for another installment of our show..."
Frankie Saddler: "Home of the greatest wrestling around today!"
Cantrell: "Well said, Frankie! We've got a great show tonight, with World Tag Team Champions the Sheepherders defending their titles!"
Saddler: "Once again against the Road Warriors, too! That's going to be one Hell of a fight, Mike!"
Cantrell: "You said it, Frankie! That said, it's time to once again join the lovely Cindy Shepherd at ringside for the first introductions of the night..."
As always, N.E.W.'s resident beautiful ring announcer is in the ring, making the introductions for...
*"Classy" Freddie Blassie v. Masked Superstar- This is the debut for Masked Superstar, and he's here to impress! Superstar starts off strong, taking control in the early going. Eventually, the Classy One escapes to the outside for a breather, but Superstar follows him outside and the two men end up in a wild brawl! The referee is unable to regain control of the match and is forced to disqualify both men! Results: A double disqualification!
Cantrell: "Well, that's quite a start for our show, tonight!"
Saddler: "Blassie and Superstar getting disqualified! I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to see a rematch, Mike."
Cantrell: "I'm sure both men would also be eager to get their hands on each other again, Frankie! Maybe General Manager Rick Murphy will make it happen!"
Saddler: "We can only hope, Mike."
Cantrell: "Let's go back to the ring!"
Once again, we go back to the ring for the introductions for our next match...
*Jazz v. Tina Moretti- The two ladies start the match with a respectful handshake before tearing into each other with a vengeance! Jazz starts off in control and works her opponent with her power for most of the match before Moretti makes a spirited comeback. The comeback is short-lived, cut off when Jazz hits a spear off the ropes! From there, it's a short time before Jazz hits the STO and gets the win! The winner of the match: Jazz!
Cantrell: "A great showing by the ladies, but Jazz comes out ahead with the STO!"
Saddler: "I think that the outcome of that match was easy to predict, Mike. Jazz is just too strong!"
Cantrell: "You might have a point, Frankie, but here in N.E.W. anybody can win a match on any given night, I think. You never know what to expect, here! Alright, it looks like the lovely Cindy Shepherd is once again ready to do her thing, so let's not keep her waiting!"
We go to the ring once again for our next match...
* The Tolos Brothers (John & Chris Tolos) w/ Ted DiBiase v. The Midnight Express (Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton) w/ Jim Cornette- John Tolos starts off the match for his team, in against Bobby Eaton of the Midnight Express. There's plenty of action in this match, with lots of quick tags and change-ups from both teams. The Tolos Brothers regain control in the closing minutes of the match, with John catching Lane with the CORKSCREW, but Jim Cornette manages to distract the referee! Cornette is then on the run as an irate Ted DiBiase gives chase, while in the ring, Eaton hits Chris Tolos with the VEG-O-MATIC! The referee gets his count nearly to three, but John Tolos and Ted DiBiase hit the ring, breaking the count and earning their team a disqualification! The winners of the match (by disqualification): The Midnight Express!
Cantrell: "Big win for Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express!"
Saddler: "It sure is, Mike, but I'd hate to be them, now!"
Cantrell: "What? Why exactly?"
Saddler: "Well, they're marked men, now. The Gentlemen's Club is going to be looking to even the score. Mark my words."
Cantrell: "Fair point, Frankie. This will be a situation to keep an eye on. That said, let's get back to the action!"
Once more our lovely ring announcer does her thing, bringing us to...
* Delirious v. Buff Bagwell- Bagwell takes control early on, his power just too much for Delirious to handle. In no time at all, Bagwell sets his opponent up for the BUFF BLOCKBUSTER and gets an easy pinfall victory! Buff begins his celebration in the center of the ring, only to get attacked from behind by Chris Candido! The two men brawl for some time before the officials regain control of the ring and get the two separated!
Cantrell: "Wow! What's it going to take for those two to settle their differences?"
Saddler: "They're going to have to get in the ring with each other and settle it like men, Mike. No other way, if you ask me."
Cantrell: "I think you're right, Frankie. I hope that A.J. Costello and Rick Murphy are watching this. That match needs to happen, and soon!"
Saddler: "I'll be looking forward to it, personally."
Cantrell: "Me, too, Frankie. Me, too! Well, this next match is a special Challenge Match, we're told. Let's get down to the ring!"
The lovely Cindy Shepherd is in the ring, as usual, making her golden-voiced introductions for...
* The Sandman w/ Bill Alfonso v. King Kong Bundy w/ Bobby 'the Brain' Heenan- The match gets started before Cindy is done making her introductions, with the Sandman attacking Bundy from behind and really letting him have it! Sandman is in control for most of the match, but Bundy's power is too much for the hardcore legend to overcome for too long! The action spills to the outside of the ring, and Sandman gets control of the match again, thanks to a lucky break, ramming Bundy's head into the ringside table! Back in the ring, Sandman sets Bundy up and nails him with a SINGAPORE CANE! Bundy hits the mat and the referee calls for the bell, calling for a disqualification! Just then, Heenan motions to the back and the rest of the Heenan Family hit the ring, attacking Sandman! Before long, Rob Van Dam and the rest of Sandman's allies are also in the ring, brawling wildly! It takes the rest of the locker room and referees to pull the two teams apart and restore order! The winner of the match (by disqualification): King Kong Bundy!
Cantrell: "A big win for the Heenan Family, but I'm pretty sure that was just the opening shot in the escalation of this personal war, Frankie."
Saddler: "Absolutely, Mike! The thing this match proved, to me anyway, is that RVD's House of Extreme don't care as much about winning or losing so much as they care about putting the hurt on the Heenan Family!"
Cantrell: "Well, they had better be careful. Bobby Heenan's men already outnumber Van Dam's team. Getting one of their own suspended will only make the advantage that much worse! Well, that said, we are ready for tonight's main event! The Tag Team Champions are defending the gold!"
Saddler: "The highly sought-after gold, at that, Mike!"
Cantrell: "This is true. Very true, indeed. Well, let's get to it!"
The lovely Cindy Shepherd is in the ring, making the announcements for tonight's Main Event...
* The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/ Paul Ellering v. The Sheepherders (Butch & Luke: Tag Team Champions) w/ Captain Lou Albano- Animal starts off against Luke and the action starts off quickly! There are plenty of quick tags and switches, with the Road Warriors cutting the ring in half and punishing the champions from the start! The Road Warriors are totally dominant, hitting Butch with a DOOMSDAY DEVICE around the ten-minute mark, but Captain Lou manages to distract the referee... only to have to witness as his man gets hit with a second DOOMSDAY DEVICE! Hawk goes for the pin while Animal hits the ring to prevent Sheepherder Luke form making the save! The Road Warriors get the pinfall and the victory! The Winners of the match and new N.E.W. Tag team Champions: The Road Warriors!
Cantrell: "Holy cow! what a victory for the Road Warriors! Captain Lou is beside himself with anger and maybe even grief!"
Saddler: "The Road Warriors were just too much for the Sheepherders tonight, Mike! Rest assured, though: Captain Lou istotally going to use the rematch clause in his team's contract! We're not done seeing these two teams fighting it out for the gold!"
Cantrell: "Good point, Frankie! For now, though, we have new Tag Team Champions! Goodnight everybody!"
We close the show with a shot of the newly-crowned Tag team Champions celebrating in the ring...
*the End*
