Card 13 – PWFC Arena
Steve Williams v. King Kong Bundy w/Jimmy Hart
A battle of former champions starts the night off as Williams was the first PWFC Champion and Bundy was one half of the first tag team champions. As expected these two exchanged power moves early on before Williams’ agility gives him the edge. Dr. Death shakes the ring with an OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE but Jimmy Hart is able to cause a distraction to keep the match going. Williams hits a deathjump cross body block for a two count. The action goes to the floor and Bundy runs Williams face first into the steel rails and is disqualified. Williams is busted open and Bundy attempts to carry on the attack but Williams battles back chasing both Hart & Bundy to the back. * ½
Fritz Von Goering & Butcher Vachon v. Billy “Red” Lyons & Jim Brunzell
Lyons & Brunzell stole a victory last card over Goering & Vachon and Goering & Vachon were looking for some payback tonight. History nearly repeats itself as Brunzell almost immediately avoids Vachon’s charge to the corner and scores a 2 ½ count with a roll up. Vachon is in trouble from the outset as Lyons and Brunzell look very impressive with their tags and double teaming. Rapid Fire Dropkicks nearly ends it but Von Goering makes the pin save. Von Goering is able to get his team back into the match but spends too much time in the ring and gets into trouble himself. Von Goering survives both a SLEEPER HOLD and a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK from Lyons before getting a much needed tag. The end is a shocker as Vachon turns the table on Lyons avoiding Lyons’ charge into the corner sending the Red into the corner hard. Vachon then quickly rolls up Lyons for the three count with a handful of tights for good measure. ****
Larry Zbyszko v. PWFC Tag Team Champion Curt Hennig
Zbyszko demands the mic before the match and tells Hennig that his father was holding him back and he needed to dump that fatso before he ruined his career completely. Hennig snaps and attacks Zbyszko with series of punches and we are underway. Hennig is too aggressive and gets caught with a spinning back kick and Zbyszko takes over. The action goes to the floor and Hennig turns things around with an Irish whip into the rails. Back inside, Hennig execute perfect back to back HENNIG PLEXES for the win. * ½
One Man Gang w/Jimmy Hart v. Bruiser Brody
Hart has his ban Brody jacket on and draws great heat from the fans. The fans were expecting violence and that is exactly what they got. There was nothing pretty about the brawling that kicked this one off both in and out of the ring. Brody was busted wide open after a chair shot on the floor and Gang nearly ended it with a face first suplex. Brody came back and soon both men were busted open and bleeding heavily. In between his wild attacks of punches and stomps, Brody kept returning to a figure four leg lock really doing a number on Gang. The end came with an offensive flurry by Brody that included a one handed body slam and several big boots to the face. A running leg drop finished Gang when Hart was not able to cause a distraction. **
Jim Londos appears on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter and puts over the fans and the Junior Heavyweight division. Londos comments on the honour of competing for his fans and tells everyone that he will be three time champion next times he steps into the ring with Danny Hodge.
The Colony (Soldier Ant & Fire Ant) v. Tom Pritchard & Chris Candido w/Tammy
The tag team division continues to fill out with the arrival of Dr. Tom Pritchard to the PWFC. Real solid action between these two teams from the outset. The quick pace and frequent tags keep the fans on edge. The Colony use a series of dives to the floor to rock ringside before Solider Ant finds himself cut off from his corner for some time. Pritchard & Candido cannot find a way to get Solider Ant’s shoulders to the mat before he makes the En Fuego tag to Fire Ant turning the momentum of the match. Ants Go Marching has the fans roaring and sets up Heat of the Moment for the three count on Pritchard (Cat’s Eyes). **
The Crusher v. Rikidozan
There were no formalities to start this one tonight just a shoving match and we have an all out war from the outset. Crusher runs Rikidozan into the ring rails busting him open in the opening minutes. From that point, Rikidozan is nearly counted out but the bloody Japanese legend crawls back into the ring. A CRUSHER BOLO gets Crusher a two count before he mounts the corner to finish Rikidozan. Crusher gets caught on the top of the corner however and is tossed to the mat. Rikidozan attacks with THUNDEROUS CHOPS but can only get a two count. Rikidozan comes off the top himself with a cross body for another two count. The action goes back to the floor and Crusher smashes Rikidozan with a chair shot and is disqualified (Cat’s Eyes). The fans give Crusher heat but he flips them off and heads to the back. ** ½
Team Extreme (2 Cold Scorpio & Jerry Lynn) v. American Wolves (Eddie Edwards & Davey Richards)
The Wolves worked nearly perfectly in preventing their opponents from making defensive tags keeping Lynn in the ring for most of the match and working him over with hard hitting offense. Team Extreme never really had the Wolves in trouble at any point in the match and Richards ended it with a BRAINBUSTER on Lynn (Cat’s Eyes). **
PWFC Title Match – Randy Savage (ch) w/Sherri Martel v. Al Snow w/Head
The fans are solidly behind Snow and we get a huge Head chant at the start of the match. Savage uses his speed to get the early advantage including a flying axe handle to the floor. Snow is able to catch the champion on the top of the turnbuckles and tosses him to the mat. Snow connects with a moonsault and we have a match suddenly. Savage regains control with a knee to the back that spills Snow to ringside. Savage comes outside and runs Snow into the ring rails head first. The referee calls for the bell and has disqualified Savage. Snow gets the upset win but does not leave with the title. *
