Thanks for continuing to check out the action.
Card 17 – PWFC Arena
Butcher Vachon & Fritz Goering v. Tony Atlas & 2 Cold Scorpio
Atlas starts off the match against Goering and sends the action to the floor with a big dropkick. Outside, Atlas and Goering struggle over a chair and Atlas wins that battle cracking Goering with the weapon. The bell sounds and Atlas has been disqualified. Mr. USA is not pleased and neither is his partner he gets in Atlas’s face. Scorpio leaves the ring without Atlas as the fans are wondering if they have seen the last of this partnership after only two matches. Dud
Green Ant v. Arik Cannon
These two have split their last two encounters and the fans were ready for the rubber match. Cannon gets the early advantage with a mix of brawling and high impact moves. He connects with a GLIMMERING WARLOCK but can only get a two count. Ant hangs in and finally draws on the fans support to make his comeback. A full nelson suplex (ch) looks impressive before Ant flies with a deathjump cross body block for a two ½ count. Ant then locks in a CLOVERLEAF and gets the submission win. **
Jerry Lynn v. Tyler Black
The bout between these two back on card 14 turned violent when both men resorted to using weapons and were left in a heap at ringside. Black comes out with the Junior Heavyweight Title that belongs to Danny Hodge and draws great heat. Lynn starts out strong and punishes Black with back to back to back twisting leg drops from the apron before planting him with a CRADLE PILEDRIVER. After the match, Hodge comes to ringside and Lynn grabs the Title belt and presents it to Hodge telling the champion to keep the title belt safe because one day soon Lynn is coming to claim it for himself. Dud
Global Disasters (One Man Gang & King Kong Bundy) w/Jimmy Hart v. Steve Williams & Bruiser Brody
Hart works the fans for heat while decked out in his Ban Brody jacket. The fans were hot for this match from the outset. Brody gets cut off from his corner thanks to some solid tagging by the Disasters. Bundy connects with an AVALANCHE but Brody is able to kick out at the last second. Gang misses a deathjump smash when Brody rolls clear and this leads to a two count. Dr. Death hot tags into the action and dominates both of his opponents. Gang saves Bundy from being pinned after an OKLAHOMA STAMPEDED that nearly breaks the ring. Gang is able to get back into the action but Brody is recovered and gives him an epic beating including back to back piledrivers for a near fall. Brody lands a JUMPING KNEE DROP but Bundy jumps into the action starting a four way brawl. Williams and Brody clean house. It is all Brody and Williams at this point and Williams downs Gang with a deathjump cross body block but Jimmy Hart causes a distraction. Gang grabs Hart’s megaphone and blast Williams but the referee sees it and immediately calls for the disqualification. It is bedlam after the bell. The Disaster get the upper hand on Brody as Williams is still dazed on the floor. Gang decks the referee with a big right hand as Williams recovers and breaks up the attack with the help a chair. (Gang suspended for three cards) ***
In a highly anticipated Hot Seat, Bill Apter welcomes Curt Hennig as his guest. Apter immediately wants to know why he attacked his father last card and Hennig explains that Larry Zbyszko was right. He was carrying his fat old man and he was not going to do the heavy lifting anymore. He tells the fans it is time that he step out of the shadow of his father (and that is a real fat shadow) and claim his rightful place in wrestling history. Larry Hennig comes out and confronts his son but Curt Hennig just slaps his father across the face tells him to do something about it. The Axe says that he will not fight his own son and Hennig slaps him again before leaving the ring.
Mr. Fuij v. Jim Londos
Londos takes several minutes to greet the fans at ringside prior to the next match lightening the mood in the arena. Londos looks very impressive early on including a Sleeper Grip that Fuji has to struggle to escape. The action goes to the floor and Fuji gets the upper hand. Fuji slows things down with a Fuji Nerve Grip and then hits a BANZAI DROP for a two count. Fuji hits second BANZAI DROP and again Londos finds a way to kick out. The fans love it but are quickly upset when Fuji throws salt in Londos’ eyes and then rolls him up for a two ½ count. Londos is in trouble and Fuji ends it with a third BANZAI DROP. **
Billy “Red” Lyons & Jim Brunzell v. Tom Prichard & Chris Candido w/Tammy
After having split their two previous encounters, these two teams came to the ring with something to prove. Brunzell starts in against Candido and has the fans clapping early on. A double elbow smash stuns Candido and Brunzell takes the battle to the floor. Candido cracks Brunzell across the back with a chair shot and earns a disqualification. All four men brawl after the bell until officials arrive to break things up. (dud)
Larry Zbyszko v. Davey Richards
Card 18 will be headlined by Larry Zbyszko and Dennis Condrey defending the Tag Team Titles against The American Wolves and this match provided the fans with a preview of what to expect next card. If that was the case then the Wolves would stand no chance against the champions. Zbyszko dominated this one from start to finish. Richards did prove difficult to put down however as he survived three PILEDRIVERS and multiple other pin attempts from Zbsyzko before a simple knee drop ended it. * ½
PWFC Title Match – Randy Savage (ch) w/Sherri Martel v. Rikidozan
Ringside is jammed with media from Japan to cover the action so the fans are buzzing in an anticipation of a title change before the competitors come to ringside. Savage comes out on fire and hits a FLYING ELBOW DROP after only three moves but it is too soon and Rikidozan kicks out of the cover. A flying axe handle stuns Rikidozan on the floor and the Macho Man then retains the title with a second FLYING ELBOW DROP. Rikidozan gets in no offense whatsoever! Another dominating win for the Macho Man and the fans boo him out of the arena. Dud
It is time to break out the federation management chart once again. In addition, One Man Gang has been suspended for three fight cards for his attack on a PWFC official tonight.
