Thanks for the comments.
FCC 10 – Motor City Madness – Cobo Arena, Detroit, Michigan Sabu v. Konnan Konnan’s call and response mic work gets the crowd up for the opening contest but Sabu attacks Konnan before Gary Michael Cappetta can complete his introductions. Sabu is all over Konnan including Air Sabu and a hurricanrana. A slingshot legdrop sends Konnan to the floor where Sabu runs him head first into the steel rails at ringside. Konnan is busted open and the referee makes the disqualification call. The fans wanted some more out of the opening contest and are not pleased with the quick decision of the referee. Dud
The Vachons (Mad Dog Vachon & Butcher Vachon) v. The Flying Redheads (Billy “Red” Lyons & Red Bastien) These two teams really know how to compete. It was a battle of near perfect defensive tags early on as the momentum went back and forth. The Vachons gained the advantage when Butcher Vachon overpowers Lyons leading up to a HANGMAN but Lyons was able to battle back. Bastien turned the momentum against Mad Dog Vachon with an elbow to the face in the corner. Bastien gets the hot tag and Lyons quickly traps Mad Dog Vachon in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to pick up the win much to the delight of the fans. * ½
Antonino Rocca v. Rikidozan The fans are on their feet for Rocca who is loved everywhere he competes. A handshake gets the action underway and the fans settle in for what could an interesting contrast in styles. Rikidozan gains control of the action punishing Rocca with three consecutive piledrives and then a deathjump clothesline. Rocca is clearly in trouble as Rikidozan puts him to the mat with a HIPLOCK but Rocca gets his shoulder up before the three count. Rikidozan rolls Rocca into another HIPLOCK for 2 ½ and then punishes Rocca with a Boston Crab. THUNDEROUS CHOPS down Rocca but he draws on the fans support to kick out of the cover. Rikidozan unleashes more THUNDEROUS CHOP and gets the three count ending the one sided contest. *
Killer Kowalski (LE) v. Yukon Eric The long history between these two is the stuff of wrestling legend and the fans were rapid to see these two clash. Kowalski attacks before Cappetta has completed the introductions. The atmosphere was electric as both men traded blows from bell to bell in and out of the ring. Forearms flew and elbows dropped. There was great looking spot where Kowalski hung Eric in the corner and went to attack him with stomps but Eric pulled himself up and countered with a headlock and windup punch with his feet still hooked in the top of the corner! The battle went back and forth. Eric nearly picked up the win with a KODIAK KRUNCH but Kowalski survived. A bombs away knee drop landed for Kowalski but did not lead to a pin. The end came when Eric connected with a Woodsman’s Chop and hooked the leg for the pin. The fans exploded and Eric gained a small measure of payback for the losing an ear so many years before. *** ½
Jim Londos v. Ed “The Strangler” Lewis Yet another contest with a significant history behind it. Londos is out to a solid reaction especially from the ladies in attendance. This one was no much of a contest however. Lewis forced Londos to the floor and then followed him outside in an uncharacteristic move. It was costly as Londos gained the upper hand outside and then carried the momentum for the balance of the contest. A BOSTON CRAB nearly ended it but an AIRPLANE SPIN was enough to pin Lewis to the mat. Huge win for Londos who celebrated with the fans after the match. *
Bobo Brazil v. The Sheik Brazil + Sheik + Detroit = Madness! The story in this one was Brazil overpowering Sheik. The action did not stay in the ring for long however and both men tore up ringside. Brazil drew first blood with a chair shot but Sheik came back later with running Brazil into the ring rails busting him open as well. Sheik survived a pair of COCO BUTTS and Brazil was able to escape a CAMEL CLUTCH twice. It looked Sheik will throw fire but he was unable to compete the set up. Brazil had the match won after a COCO BUTT when Sabu stormed the ring and attacked Brazil with a series of stomps. Brazil tossed him to the floor but Sheik took advantage with a roll up for a near fall. Sheik rammed Brazil into the guardrail again and this time the referee had seen enough and called for the disqualification. Sabu and Sheik attack Brazil until the Flying Redheads arrive with chairs to break things up. ****
FCC Title Match – Dick Hutton (ch) v. Dan Severn Handshake starts the match and the fans cheer loudly for the show of sportsmanship. Severn comes out on fire and quickly forces the action to the floor with a heel hook. Severn comes out after Hutton. Hutton reverses an Irish whip and Severn goes hard into the ring post. The bell sounds and Hutton has been disqualified! The fans are livid as is Severn. Hutton leaves Detroit with another loss but still the champion. Dud
Controversy continues to follow FCC Champion Dick Hutton as he once again escaped another FCC card with the FCC Title after a disqualification finish. Dan Severn was irate after the match demanding an immediate rematch and FCC management has signed the contest for FCC 11. However, in order to ensure a winner of the match, the title will be contested under Texas Death Rules. No disqualifications, no count-outs. One fall to a finish. Also on the card, the winners from tonight’s singles undercard has been invited to participate in another eight man tournament. The eight man field will be rounded out by George Hackenscmidt, Frank Gotch and Nature Boy Buddy Rogers. Finally, the first ever women’s match has been signed as Sherri Martel clashes with Ida Mae Martinez

Wow. Dick Hutton has been generating some surprise heat. Makes for dud matches but potentially five-star booking.

Motor City Madness was awesome, some real history in some of those bouts. I liked Brazil vs. The Sheik and Eric vs. Kowalski the best. Hutton vs. Severn in a Texas Death Match should be awesome.

Thanks Ace, CC and Cure for the feedback. Hutton has proven to an interesting character as champion. Maybe a victim of the dice but it has presented an opportunity to put a new spin on his card for sure.
FCC 11 – Return of the Tournament – Fairgrounds Arena, Birmingham, Alabama Round One
Rikidozan v. Konnan Two international superstars clashed in the opening round. Konnan works the fans for support early on but the reaction is mixed. It only takes a few minutes for Rikidozan to have Konnan to the mat for a near fall with a HIPLOCK. Konnan remains on the defensive and clearly struggles to break down Rikidozan’s attack. Outside, Konnan results to cracking Rikidozan with a chair shot and earns himself a disqualification. Dud
Frank Gotch v. George Hackenschmidt Everyone knows the history and controversy between these two competitors who last battled in FCC on FCC 06 Clash of the Titans. That time, Gotch came out with the win in one of the highlight bouts of Season Three. Hackenschmidt was awesome from the opening bell dominating his nemesis on the mat and then moving to the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG. Three times Gotch was able to battle out of the hold with the fans roaring through each painful moment. Gotch finally got something going and in a crazy looking spot trapped Hackenschmidt in a crossface and arm but. Hackenscmidt pulled himself under the ropes to the floor and both men tumbled to ringside but Gotch someone maintain the hold on the arena floor! Gotch continued to dominate and Hackenschmidt once again escaped to ringside. Gotch followed and Hackenschmidt grabbed Gotch and ran him into the ring post shoulder first. The bell sounded and the tournament opens with back to back disqualifications. After the match, Hackenscmidt snaps and traps Gotch in RUSSIAN BEAR HUG. Officials arrive to break up the attack as the has jeer the Russian Lion as he leaves ringside. Gotch needs assistance leaving the ring. *** ½ Bobo Brazil v. Jim Londos Both men are out to a massive ovation and the action starts with a handshake. The story in this match was Brazil dominating the match with an almost heelish power attack on Londos. Brazil attacked Londos in and out of the ring and the fans support began to shift to Londos’ side. The COCO BUTTS came raining down on Londos. Three times he kicked out after getting cracked in the skull. Finally, Londos fired up for his comeback and the fans exploded. Twice Londos but Brazil down with an AIRPLANE SPIN without success. Brazil powered out of a BOSTON CRAB. The action leveled out from this point and when back and forth in and out of the ring. Londos nearly took the win with a roll up in the corner. Later, Brazil crushed Londos with a big hammer punch for a near fall of his own. The end came when Londos caught Brazil with another AIRPLANE SPIN smashed Brazil to the mat and getting the three count. *****
Buddy Rogers v. Yukon Eric The fans are solidly behind Eric as Gary Michael Cappetta makes the introductions. Rogers is cocky until he feels Eric’s first Woodsman’s Chop and suddenly the Nature Boy focuses on the task at hand. Rogers does everything in his power to avoid Eric’s power from that point including picking up a near fall off of a deathjump crossbody. Rogers could not run forever and Eric thrilled the fans each time he landed a clubbing blow on the Nature Boy. Both men countered a back drop with a piledriver. They brawled on the floor as well. The end came when Rogers caught Eric with a running slingshot in the corner and then hit a deathjump smash. With Eric stunned Rogers applied a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE and advanced to the second round. **
Sherri Martel v. Ida Mae Martinez FCC history is made in Birmingham with the first women’s contest. This one was fantastic. The action started slow and built steadily from start to finish as the ladies competed in a very closely contested bout. Martinez gets the advantage mid-way through but cannot get the win following a DROPKICK. Martel turns things around when she catches her opponent on the top of the corner and tosses her to the mat. The fans think is it over when Martel connects with a TOP ROPE SPLASH but Martel gets her shoulder up to keep the match going. The fans are into the action as the bout nears its conclusion. Martel has control and climbs the corner for a deathjump but Martinez catches her on top and slams her to the mat. Martinez than applies a Texas Cloverleaf for the emotional and hard fought victory. ***
Semi-Finals
Rikidozan v. Frank Gotch (inj) Gotch surprizes many when he comes to the ring after being attacked by George Hackenschimdt after his first round match. Gotch has his ribs heavily taped and Rikidozan question the referee if Gotch is actually good to compete. Any concern Rikidozan had for his opponent was wiped away when Gotch gained the upper hand in the match after struggling early on. Gotch locked in a rolling knee bar and then went for the submission with a GOTCH TOE HOLD. Rikidozan barely made the ropes and suddenly we had a match. The action continued from that point but it was clear the offensive flurry from Gotch was likely as close as he was going to get. Gotch did not go down without a fight kicking out of a HIP LOCK and surviving THUNDEROUS CHOPS. However, the onslaught of chops never stopped and a simple scoop slam caused Gotch extreme pain. Rikidozan ended it with a series of overhead chops. ***
Jim Londos v. Buddy Rogers The Nature Boy v. The Golden Greek was next. The fans were all over Rogers as he strutted around the ring and bad mouthed ringside. Londos seems to have trouble early counting Rogers attack but soon finds his groove. Londos picks up a pair of one counts after a short arm scissors and spinning neckbreaker that irritate Rogers more than anything else. However, when Rogers gets caught in an AIRPLANE SPIN it is a different story as Londos spins Rogers and slams the two time tournament winner to the match for victory. The fans love it and Londos advances to the tournament finals. **
FCC Title Texas Death Match – Dick Hutton (ch) v. Dan Severn It seemed strange that a Texas Death Match would start with a handshake but that is exactly what happened. It is clear that neither man is here to break the rules but rather wants the honest win over their opponent. Severn outclasses the champion early on including a nasty looking German suplex that plants Hutton on his head for a near fall. Hutton is able to mount a comeback. The action goes to the floor and Hutton is the first to break the rules running Severn into the ring post busting him open. The fans finally turn on Hutton completely and he responds yelling back at them “I am the champion!” Hutton then attacks Severn with a chair at ringside drawing more heat. Back in the ring, a bloody and battered Severn draws on the fans support to being his own comeback. Severn gets back into control and assault Hutton at ringside with a chair ramming it into Hutton’s arm. In the ring, Severn attacks the arm with WAKIGATAME but Hutton makes the ropes. Severn drags Hutton to the middle of the ring and applies the hold a second time. This time Hutton has to submit and we have new FCC champion! ** ½
Finals
Rikidozan v. Jim Londos A handshake starts this match off as well. Rikidozan scores early with a scoop slam with such force as it gets a near fall. Londos gets tossed to the floor and when he regains the ring, Rikidozan is ready with a HIPLOCK for a victory. Dud.
On a night where a new FFC champion is crowned, two ladies nearly steal the show. Dan Severn is the new FCC champion after finally overcoming Dick Hutton in a Texas Death Match. Severn will have little time to celebrate however as his first challenger with be Rikidozan who has looked unstoppable since his FCC debut. The other big news from backstage was the injury to Frank Gotch at the hands of George Hackenschmidt. As a result of the injuries Gotch is next expected to appear in the FCC for the balance of the season [five card injury]. As for Hackenschmidt, he would not speak to media after the event and simply was seen leaving the arena on his own before the end of the card. No doubt there will be more the Gotch – Hackenschmidt story to come. Up next, the FCC heads to the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta Georgia for The Proving Ground. In addition to the Severn – Rikidozan battle, the Killer Bees will make their FCC return when they face the dangerous combination of Bob Orton Sr. and Iron Mike DiBase. Plus another eight man tournament will take place featuring the following competitors: Ilio DiPaolo, Ed “Strangler” Lewis, Jim Londos, Billy “Red” Lyons, Harley Race, Antonino Rocca, Mad Dog Vachon and Johnny Valentine

The Birmingham show was great, bb. FCC is really on a roll. It was cool to see Dan Severn win the title and him against Rikidozan should be amazing. I also enjoyed the debut of the ladies in FCC and it was great to see Ida Mae Martinez get the win over Sherri Martel.

Jim Londos had an impressive run but it looked like it was meant to be Rikikdozan winning the tourney. Severn will have his hands full at his first defense of the title.
The next tournament has good line up and I'm picking Race as the winner.

Thanks for ace and cruefan68.
FCC 12 – The Proving Ground – Augusta Civic Center, Augusta, Georgia
Round One Jim Londos v. Billy “Red” Lyons The fans are treated to a handshake after Gary Michael Cappetta introduces both men and we are underway. Lyons looks incredible early on dominating the winner of FCC 11 with his speed and agility. Three times Lyons traps Londos in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but somehow each time Londos battles his way to the ropes. Londos is finally able to get back into the action and sends Lyons to the mat with a shoulder tackle. Londos then applies a short arm scissors and gets the shocking submission win to advance. **
Harley Race v. Ed “Strangler” Lewis Lewis and Race exchange counters early on after a handshake with no clear advantage to either competitor. Race begins to step up his attack and rocks Lewis with a series of suplexes, neckbreakers and head butts. A deathjump clothesline nearly takes Lewis’ head off. Lewis attempts to take the action to the mat but cannot mount any consistent offense. Race connects with a vertical suplex and then ends the match with a PILEDRIVER. * ½
Antonino Rocca v. Ilio DiPaolo Once again a handshake gets the match underway. Rocca entertains the fans with his fancy foot work and acrobatics but DiPaolo is not impressed and fires back with some big right hands that remind Rocca he is in a wrestling ring. Rocca rolls DiPaolo to the mat for a two count after a crushing body scissors. The action goes outside and both men exchange forearms. Rocca executes and monkey flip at ringside and sends DiPaolo crashing into the official. The referee signals for the bell as the two men take the match back inside ring. The fans are confused but DiPaolo is announced the winner by disqualification. No one likes the call but the decision stands. *
Johnny Valentine v. Mad Dog Vachon This one did not last very long but was intense from start to finish. Valentine survives an early manical chokehold to gain control of the bout with a series of forearms. Back to back ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERS fail to give Valentine the win and Vachon comes back during a brawl on the floor. Valentine eats the rails and is busted open. Back inside, Vachon plants Valentine with a PILEDRIVER not once but twice. Valentine kicks out both times and then wins the next brawl on the floor. Valentine then connects with back to back ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERS for the three count. ****
Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair) v. Bob Orton Sr. & Iron Mike DiBiase The fans are behind the Bees from the outset and Brunzell looks impressive against Orton. Blair tags in but cannot finish Orton with a SLEEPER. Orton gets control on the floor and DiBiase tags in and takes over the action. Blair kicks out after a TOP ROPE KNEE DROP but DiBiase immediately follows with a second one. Brunzell makes the save and DiBiase follows with a third TOP ROPE KNEE DROP. Orton blocks Brunzell but Blair gets the shoulder up. Orton tags in and hits a neckbreaker for the pin. * ½
Semi – Finals
Jim Londos v. Harley Race Another handshake starts the action and the fans settle in. The story in this one was Race dominating the action with his power from the outset and Londos barely hanging on to keep in the match. Race punished Londos with a series of headbutts and suplexes. Twice Londos kicked out after a PILEDRIVER and twice Londos avoided being counted out of the ring crawling back in at the count of nine. The fans were frantic for a Londos comeback and he gave it to them reversing a whip a ringside sending Race into the ring post. Back inside, Londos attempted the submission first with a grinding arm bar and then with a BOSTON CRAB. Race made the ropes but Londos dragged Race back to the middle of the ring and applied a second BOSTON CRAB to complete his epic comeback. ****
Johnny Valentine v. Ilio DiPaolo No one really gave DiPaolo any chance in this one but he stunned the fans and critics alike with a strong start. A running head ram to the buckle looked great and gave DiPaolo a near fall. Big right hands then set up an AIRPLANE SPIN that had the fans roaring and Valentine reeling. DiPaolo could only get a two count but he kept on Valentine including a painful leg nelson and a rolling short arm scissors. DiPaolo connected with further big right hands and then covered a dazed Valentine for the three count. Valentine has no offense the entire match! * ½
FCC Title Match Dan Severn (ch) v. Rikidozan There is a short Puroresu ceremony before the bell that both men participate in. Severn looks like a million dollars from the outset and has the answer to everything his challenger can throw at him. Severn gets the WAKIGATAME locked in early but Rikidozan makes the ropes. Severn’s offensive attack is awesome. A German suplex plants Rikidozan for a near fall. Rikidozan also manages to escape a choke sleeper. A fireman’s carry slam shakes the ring before Rikidozan uses the ropes to break another choke sleeper. Severn even comes off the top with a deathjump clothesline. Rikidozan finally is able to uses a series of headbutts to stop Severn’s attack and mounts a comeback. Overhead chops down the Champion and Rikidozan tries for his own submission with a Boston Crab. A HIPLOCK gets a near fall as does a scoop slam. Suddenly the action is tightly contested and the momentum goes back and forth. Rikidozan pushes and gets another near fall with a HIPLOCK before connecting with more overhead chops. Severn barely kicks out of the cover. Rikidozan follows with THUNDEROUS CHOPS to take the title! *****
Finals
Jim Londos v. Ilio DiPaolo The fans were spilt during the introductions. A handshake starts yet another match. The fans expected a battle of airplane spins but they did not expect DiPaolo to once again dominate the action with a mix of power, science and brawling. Londos looked overwhelmed several times during the contest. DiPaolo connected with everything including an AIRPLANE SPIN for a two count midway through the match. Londos was again nearly counted out after DiPaolo slammed him on the floor. A rope climb headlock takeover got a two count. There was no miracle comeback for Londos this time as DiPaolo ended the contest with a second AIRPLANE SPIN to win the tournament. **
Up next, the FCC presents Anniversary 3 at the Fair Park Arena, Birmingham, Alabama. In the main event, new FCC Champion Rikidozan puts the title on the line against Ilio DiPaolo. Eight men have signed to participate in a one night tournament to determine the next contender for the FCC Title. Tonight’s runner up Jim Londos will be joined by three former FCC Champions as Dick Hutton, Dan Severn and Bobo Brazil will all participate. Bruiser Brody, Killer Kowalski, former tournament winner Mil Mascaras, and The Sheik will round out the event. In tag team action, The Flying Redheads will face Ted DiBiase & Bob Orton Sr. Finally, Sheri Martel will be looking to get her win back when she steps into the ring with Ida Mae Martinez.

What a thriller tournament, it would have been a cool comeback for Londos, but seeing Ilio DiPaolo win it all is very cool... I have to agree with Crimson, DiPaolo winning the tournament was very cool. His win over Johnny Valentine was a real upset in my book and then he topped it off by beating Jim Londos. Amazing run for him. Severn vs. Rikidozan was off the charts and I look forward to seeing how DiPaolo does against Rikidozan in the title match.
