Bobo/Valentine ended the way a good feud starts...
A little off topic but the Mascaras/Zbyszko match brought up memories of my early days as a wrestling fan. When I was younger I thought Mil was great being a cool masked guy and all. Meanwhile, I couldn't stand Larry (this coming from a guy who usually liked the heels). His AWA run as champion drove me nuts. His constant stalling, etc. Being a smarter fan nowadays, my feelings are reversed. From what many have heard said about Mil, I don't think I care for him much. And now I feel Larry was such a good heel, just by how much I hated him.

@crimson Cross thank you for the feedback. Zbyszko’s success this season has been an awesome surprize. Hutton and Brazil both have three defences so this is a big one for Brazil who is in second reign as champion. cruefan68 the FCC has been a lot of fun so far but it is going to get more challenging in the next season as I continue to follow the UFC “booking” history. Tournaments will soon be coming to an end and the FCC will take on a more tradition booking style. The UFC history will still decide the number of FCC cards per season, location and number of bouts per card. I also have plans on how I will use Ultimate Fighter as well but that is a little while down the road.
aceldamas great discussion on Zbyszko. I am actually old enough to remember him as champion but by that time the AWA was just a shell. I even hated the fact he won the thing in a battle royal. The more removed from the modern product the more controversial Mascaras seems to become. He did sell tickets during his prime however and at the end of the day that is what really counts. FCC 18 – Anniversary 4 –Yokohama Arena, Yokohama Japan Tournament Matches
The Destroyer v. Larry Zbyszko Zbyszko spends several minutes jarring with the fans in an effort to create some heat but when he finally focuses on his opponent he gets the early advantage that starts off with a spinning back kick. The fans are not impressed with the Living Legend’s rule breaking and cheer when Destroyer comes back and traps Zbyszko in a single leg Boston Crab. The action goes to the floor and Zbyszko cracks Destroyer with a chair shot and earns a disqualification. *
Giant Baba v. Antonio Inoki The fans are buzzing as these two legends made their way to the ring. A lengthy ceremony is held and then the action starts with a handshake. The story in this one was Inoki struggling to find a way to deal with Baba’s size advantage. Although Inoki did have some momentums on offense, for most of the match he was backing up. Inoki kicked out after a NECKBREAKER DROP and that really got the fans into the action. Baba was just too strong tonight however and uses a slingshot in the corner to set up a second NECKBREAKER DROP to get the three count. A handshake ends the action. *
Rikidozan v. Bruiser Brody Brody cuts a way to the ring with his chain and immediately attacks Rikidozan before the bell but tonight Rikidozan is ready for the storm and battles Brody blow for blow. There is flurry of punches and chops from corner to corner and the crowd is really into the action. There is no clear advantage unlikely the last contest between these two where Brody dominated. The action stays in the ring as well which benefits Rikidozan. Brody gets rebounded into the ropes and Rikidozan scores with a massive backdrop. Brody regains his feet and walks right into THUNDEROUS CHOPS and your winner is Rikidozan. * ½
The Sheik v. Don Leo Jonathan Sheik attempts to attack Jonathan has be makes his way to the ring and there is wild brawl before the bell. Jonathan slams Sheik through the announce table and the fans are stunned. Back in the ring, the match finally gets underway and Jonathan attacks with a MORMON SWING but somehow Sheik is able to kick out of the cover. The action goes back outside and this time Jonathan runs Sheik into the ring rails busting him open. The referee has had enough and calls for the disqualification. Both men then brawl their way to the back. * ½ FCC Tag Team Title Match – Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering v. Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) The Warriors unleash a Blitzkrieg attack and Animal battering rams Brunzell into the ring post before the bell even sounds busting him open. The match officially gets underway and the Bees has intentions of MASKED CONFUSION but the official has other ideas. Brunzell in nearly counted out of the ring after Animal unleashes a double underhook slam on the floor. Blair is finally able to get the hot tag but Hawk no sells a lateral guillotine and the beating continues. With Brunzell in a heap on the floor, Blair is left along against the Warriors and the beating is epic. Hawk battering rams Blair into the ring post busting him open as well. With both Bees battered and bloodied on the arena floor, the referee easily counts to ten and the awards the match to the Warriors who are your first FCC Tag Team Champions! * ½
The Destroyer v. Giant Baba These two competitors have a long history of both teaming up and battling each other around the globe. Handshake gets things underway. The pace was slow at the beginning as Baba overpowered his opponent working the arm and then using a series of headlocks. A series of Chops picked things but Destroyer battled back with forearms and kneedrops. The Destroyer turned the momentum with a sensational suplex out of nowhere that stunned Baba for a near fall. Destroyer then connected with a bombs away kneedrop for another two count before trapping Baba in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Baba made the ropes but Destroyer kept on his opponent and won the match with a second FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK minutes later. **
FCC Title Match – Bobo Brazil (ch) v. Mil Masaras A classic match up of speed and agility vs power was featured in the main event. Once again a handshake gets the match underway and the crowd shows their appreciation. This was a classic from start to finish. The pace in the opening minutes had the fans on the edge of the seats. Brazil sent Mascaras into the ropes but the masked legend countered a backdrop with a perfect cradle for a two count and then followed immediately with a CROSSBODY ATTACK for another near fall. Not to be outdone, Brazil caught Mascaras mounting the turnbuckles and tossed him to the mat before landing a COCO BUTT for a near fall of his own. The match then evolved into a back and forth battle of counters. It was clear that Mascaras had the slight advantage and was taking the fight to the champion. Brazil survived two more CROSSBODY ATTACKS during the match and Mascaras also managed to kick out after two COCO BUTTS. At one point Mascaras transitioned from an octopus hold to a bow and arrow for a submission attempt that had the fans roaring. The end came when Mascaras hit a slingshot plancha and followed with a CROSSBODY ATTACK. Brazil kicked out at one and the fans exploded but Mascaras immediately followed with another CROSSBODY ATTACK to get the three count and become the 6th FCC Champion. **** ½

An amazing night of action in Yokohama. Mascaras vs. Brazil did not dissapoint and Mil winning the title in epic fashion to boot. Great stuff. The Road Warriors annihilated the KIller Bees on their way to tag team gold and what a great victory by The Destroyer in the tournament. It was nice to see Rikidozan get a strong victory over Bruiser Brody in their return match.
As for the concept I like that you are doing a pro wrestling take on UFC. Looking forward to how things shape up when the tournament format ends. I also really like the idea of an Ultimate Fighter type show in FCC.

I see, being booked in Japan, Rikidozan got his win back from Brody. Always cool to see the Destroyer win. Thankfully, the Road Warriors didn't job to the Bees.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment this season.
Season Five is history and was a blast to roll out. We ended the season with two new champions being crowned in Japan and now look forward to season six which promises to be somewhat controversial as the FCC transitions its booking style. But first it is time for the year end awards:
Best Wrestler: The competition was close this year as several competitors had stand out years. The Killer Bees turned the tag team division on it’s ear this year with back to back tournament wins but they fell short of capturing the Tag Team Titles. In singles action, Larry Zbyszko was impressive but was never able to win the big matches. At the top of the singles division was Bobo Brazil who ran off three impressive title defenses before dropping the FCC Title to Mil Mascaras on the last card of the year. Brazil gets the nod this year and takes home his second Best Wrestler award.
Best Match: The award this season goes to Johnny Valentine’s war with The Crusher at Showdown. The Foreign Legion’s battle with The Killer Bees at Ultimate Force was a close second place finisher.

FCC 19 –Battle in the Bayou, Pontchartrain Center, New Orleans, Louisiana
Tag Team Tournament
The Fabulous Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan) w/Wild Red Berry v. Double Axe Attack (Larry Hennig & Curt Hennig) Costello makes Curt Hennig pay for his cocky attitude with a series of forearm smashes. Hennig gets rebounded off the ropes in to a clothesline before Heffernan tags in and keeps the pressure on with a Kangaroo Kick that sends Hennig to the floor. Outside, both men mix it out and Hennig grabs a chair and runs it into Heffernan’s gut. The bell sounds and Hennig has been disqualified. Larry Hennig, who never sees any action is not pleased with his son’s actions and the Kangaroos move on without much effort. Dud
Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens w/Bobby Heenan v. Steve Williams & Ted DiBiase (glove) The fans give Heenan a huge Weasel chant before the bell making Bobby The Brain nuts. This one was a tag team classic with both teams making use of defensive tags to keep the momentum going back and forth. Bockwinkel found himself in some hot water and cut off from his corner. DiBiase nailed back to back LOADED GLOVES but Heenan was able to cause a distraction keeping his team alive. Stevens then saved his partner from a FIGURE FOUR LEGOCK from DiBiase. Stevens was able to get the defensive tag and wrestled most of the balance of the match for his team while Williams and DiBiase continued to tag in and out. Williams and Stevens went back and forth and brawled around the ring multiple times. The match would end at ringside when Stevens rammed DiBiase face first into the ring rails busting him open earning a disqualification. Williams and DiBiase advance to the finals. *** ½
Ivan Koloff w/Captain Lou Albano v. S. D. Jones Koloff and Albano are met with huge heat as they make their way to the ring. Jones is fired up but his momentum is quickly stopped by an attack with chains that busts open Jones and has the fans calling for the referee’s head. Koloff brutalizes Jones for the next several minutes in and out of the ring. Koloff connects with a top rope knee drop but pulls up Jones instead of letting the referee complete the three count. Koloff dishes out some more punishment including another attack with chains that takes the heat to another level. Koloff then connects with a second top rope knee drop for the win. Jones needs assistance leaving the ring.*
Bullet Brad Armstrong & Bob Armstrong v. Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) w/Jim Cornette It is no secret that there is no love lost between the Bob Armstrong and Jim Cornette so the atmosphere for this encounter was electric as the teams made their way to the ring. Eaton and Bob Armstrong start the match and Eaton immediately goes for the win with a Divorce Court but Armstrong makes the ropes. Condrey tags in and connects with a suplex onto Eaton’s knees. Condrey hooks the leg and the match is over just like that. The fans are stunned and Cornette is absolutely jubilant at ringside. Dud
FCC Tag Team Champions Road Warriors are on the Hot Seat along with their manager Paul Ellering but they are interrupted by Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. The Warriors are not pleased and when it looks like Apter may end up in the line of fire they attack the Express who immediately scurry from ringside.
Best of Three Falls Match – Iron Mike DiBiase & Bob Orton Sr. v. Flying Redheads (Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien) The pace in the opening fall is off the charts and the advantage goes to the Redheads. Bastien in particular is a stand out against DiBiase nearly getting the fall with an ATOMIC DROP. The momentum evens out with both teams making tags. Bastien again steps it up diving onto Orton at ringside bringing the fans to their feet. The first fall went to the Redheads when Bastien stunned Orton with an ATOMIC DROP for the three count while Lyons cut off DiBiase from making the save. The second fall started the same way with the Redheads dominating the action. Lyons had DiBiase beat with a SLEEPER HOLD but Orton jumped into the action starting a wild brawl. DiBiase & Orton came out on top and dominated the balance of the fall. Twice Lyons took a TOPE ROPE KNEE DROP from DiBiase but Bastien made the save. Orton then tagged in and planted Lyons with a PILEDRIVER to take the second fall. With both teams drained after two intense fall the tags come frequently in the third fall. The momentum goes back and forth with no clear advantage until Lyons counters a shoulder tackle attempt by Orton and executes an atomic drop to get the three count out of nowhere. *****
The Sheik w/Abdullah Farouk v. Bobo Brazil Now having Farouk at ringside did nothing to increase The Sheik’s popularity with the fans especially against former FCC Champion Bobo Brazil. This one was war from start to finish. Both men were a bloody mess in the opening minutes of the match. Then Brazil unleashed three consecutive COCO BUTTS but could not pin his opponent. The match when back and forth with both men trading blows in and of the ring. A big hammer punch nearly ended it before Brazil landed yet another COCO BUTT that would have gotten the three count if Farouk had not distracted the referee. The Sheik found new life from this point and after three failed attempts unleashed a FIREBALL. Somehow, Brazil managed to kick out of the cover but Sheik stepped up his attack working the shoulder with a CAMEL CLUTCH. Outside, Sheik ran Brazil into the ring post shoulder first doing further damage and then applied a sadistic hammerlock to get the submission win. *****
Tag Team Tournament Finals The Fabulous Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan) w/Wild Red Berry v. Steve Williams & Ted DiBiase (glove) The power attack of Williams was on full display early on as Dr. Death tossed around both Kangaroos and unleashed a pair of lariats that had the fans cheering. The Kangaroos were able to regroup before long and cut off DiBiase from his corner for a stretch but Williams saved his partner from BOOMERANG and the action kept going. The momentum switched back and forth with both teams showing the fans they knew how to tag in and out of the action. Things started to break down and at one point all four men were brawling in the ring. The finish came when DiBiase got the best of an exchange at ringside against Heffernan and then dropped him with a LOADED GLOVE to get the win. Despite DiBiase’s questionable tactics to get the win, the fans gave Dr. Death and DiBiase a sold ovation. ***
FCC Title Match – Mil Mascaras (ch) v. The Destroyer These two last clashed at FCC 04 at it was Mascaras who came out on top that night after a classic encounter. The fans were hoping for more the same type of action tonight. Mascaras starts strong with and thrills the fans with a sling shot plancha. Destroyer uses a poke in the eye to turn things around earning some heat from ringside. Destroyer then uses a series of intelligent sleeper holds mixed with forearms to wear down Mascaras. Destroyer traps Mascaras in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK in the middle of the ring but Mascaras is able to drag himself to the ropes. Destroyer pulls Mascaras out to the centre of the ring and applies another FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Mascaras has no counter and we have a new champion! **

aceldamas thanks for the comments. I was very pleased to see Destroyer take the gold. FCC 20 –Redemption, Mobile Civic Center, Mobile Alabama Tournament – Round One Rikidozan v. Bobo Brazil It was in Alabama that Brazil lifted the FCC Title from Rikidozan. At that night the Japanese legend could not overcome Brazil’s power. Brazil is coming off a hard fought and controversial loss last card to the Sheik and looking to rebound and launch himself back into the title picture. A handshake gets the action underway. Rikidozan found his solution tonight and that was to attack, attack, attack. A HIPLOCK put Brazil to the mat early for two and THUNDEROUS CHOPS just about resulted in a three count. Brazil would find no rest at ringside and when the action went back to the ring Rikidozan was ready with a piledriver to advance to the finals. * ½ Dan Severn v. Dick Hutton Severn ended Hutton’s reign atop the FCC back on Card 11 and Hutton was looking for some payback tonight. Handshake starts the action but it turns into a shoving match. There was still some bad blood between these two going back to their season four wars and it was evident as this match unfolded. Severn brutalized Hutton on the floor including several knees to the head and smashing Hutton with a chair across the back. Back in the ring, Hutton never could get anything going and Severn took the win after a fireman’s carry slam. * Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair) over The Fabulous Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan) w/Wild Red Berry The Bees are back in action and were looking to prove they were deserving of another opportunity at the tag team titles. The Bees were a step behind their opponents the entire bout and even an early MASKED CONFUSION did not change the momentum of the bout. Killer Bee #2 took a real beating including two body block catapults. Berry got in his licks as well including a smash to Killer Bee #2 with his cane that nearly resulted in a count out. In the end, Bee #2 reversed Costello’s Irish whip on the floor sending the Aussie into the ring post and earning a disqualification. ** Ivan Koloff w/Captain Lou Albano v. Hacksaw Jim Duggan The USA chants start almost immediately for Duggan. Despite the fans support Duggan struggles early and the tension mounts at ringside. Duggan finally breaks through with wild haymakers and a spinning bodyslam that shakes the ring. The action goes back and forth from this point with both men exchanging heavy blows. The action cannot be contained in the ring and Duggan runs Koloff into the ringside rails and is disqualified. Koloff grabs his chain but Duggan already has his 2 x 4 in hand causing Albano and Koloff to retreat to the back with the win. * ½ Danny Hodge is on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter. Apter tells the fans that Hodge is the first competitor announced for the Junior Heavyweight Title Battle Royal which will take place at Anniversary Six! Texas Death Match – Jimmy Valiant v. Youssuf Ishmaelo These two split their matches last season and this was the rubber match. Huge support for the Boogie Woggie Man as he makes his way to the ring. Valiant took the fight to Ishmaelo early on as The Terrible Turk seemed to struggle with Valiant’s attack. Ishmaelo was busted open from a chair shot but managed to comeback with his power and soon Valiant was also a bloody mess. A series of Neck Wrenchers had the crowd cringing and Valiant in trouble. Ishmaelo made liberal use a chair in the ring and rendered Valiant nearly unconscious before applying a STRANGLEHOLD. Valiant blacked out and Ishmaelo walked away the victor. Valiant needed assistance leaving the ring. *** ½ Double Axe Attack (Larry Hennig & Curt Hennig) v. Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens w/Bobby Heenan Great heat for Heenan and his team as they come to ringside. The pace was excellent early on with Curt Hennig tangling with both Bockwinkel and then Stevens. The results went the way of Stevens and Bockwinkel including a BOMBS AWAY by Stevens on Hennig. The Axe was able to get the hot tag but could not get anything going. Stevens put Larry Hennig away with a BOMBS AWAY ending an impressive outing for Heenan’s team. * Tournament Finals Rikidozan v. Dan Severn Rikidozan won his FCC Title from Severn back at FCC 12 in Season 4’s match of the year and the fans were buzzing as the competitors made their way to the ring for the rematch too long in the making. This one was worth the wait. The counters were flawless from the outset and neither man could gain any momentum for some time. It was Severn who stepped up the attack first with a series of German suplexes that had the fans on their feet. Severn continued the assault on the floor but when the action returned to the ring WAKIGATAME did not get the win. Just when Rikidozan appeared down and out he got the best of Severn on the floor and mounted his comeback with a series of Boston Crabs mixed with chops. Rikidozan body slammed Severn on the floor and when the action when back inside, A HIPLOCK ended it giving Rikidozan another shot at the FCC Title! The fans were left wondering when the next classic encounter between these two would be signed. **** FCC Tag Team Title Match – Road Warriors (ch) w/Paul Ellering v. Ted DiBiase (glove) & Steve Williams These four men know how to fight and the fans were braced for impact. Dr. Death is one of the few men in the FCC who could not match power, if no overpower, the Warriors and that was on display early on including a lariat that turned Hawk inside out. The Warriors countered with smart tags and the action evened out. DiBiase took a nasty looking spike piledriver from the Warriors but managed to get the tag to Williams before the Warriors could do any additional damage. Williams ended up brawling with Hawk at ringside and Hawk took things too far when he decked the referee who was attempting to get the competitors back inside the ring. It is chaos at the bell with all four men brawling until security arrives to break things up. The Warriors drop the match but keep the gold. ** FCC Title Match – The Destroyer (ch) v. Mil Mascaras The fans show their appreciation when the bout gets underway with a handshake. Mascaras sets a dominating pace from the outset and there are times that Destroyer is simply outclassed during the bout. Destroyer is able to kick out of a pin attempt after a CROSSBODY ATTACK and later survives a slingshot plancha by getting his shoulder up at the last second. Destroyer has a flurry of offense that starts with a brawl on the floor and ends with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but Mascaras rolls the champion over to escape. Mascaras then regains control and does not look back taking back the FCC title with a FLYING BODYPRESS. A handshake ends the match and your main event at Anniversary 6 will be Mil Mascaras defending the FCC Title against Rikidozan! ** ½

I really enjoyed the last two cards and you can't go wrong with Mil Mascaras vs. The Destroyer. I was hoping that The Destroyer would retain but it was not to be. I'm really enjoying the tag team of Ted Dibiase & Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, one of my all-time favorite teams. They won the tag tournament and then nearly beat the Road Warriors for the gold. The Rikidozan vs. Dan Severn tournament final was awesome and now it will be interesting to see if Rikidozan can win the gold from Mascaras.

cruefan68 thanks for the comments. DiBiase & Williams have proven to be a good match up for the Warriors especially Dr. Death. FCC 21 –Anniversary Five, Ginasio da Portugesa, Sao Paulo, Brazil Junior Heavyweight Title Battle Royal – Brad Armstrong, Red Bastien, Chris Candido, Justin Credible, Iron Mike DiBiase, Gorgeous George, Danny Hodge, Sabu, Mad Dog Vachon, Koko B. Ware This was chaos from the outset as you would expect. Red Bastien shocked the fans by eliminating the front runner Danny Hodge with an ATOMIC DROP. The battle continued for some time before the next elimination when Brad Armstrong dropkicked Koko B. Ware to the floor. Justin Credible and Sabu battle against the ropes. Credible is about to be eliminated but Chris Candido comes to his aid but is backdropped to the floor himself. Credible continued to take a beating from Sabu and is eliminated after a TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT connects. DiBiase and Vachon battle and Sabu goes after Armstrong. A TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT misses and Armstrong is able to toss a dazed Sabu from the match for his second elimination. The action is hard to follow for the next few minute with all the competitors brawling through the ring. DiBiase centres out Armstrong and begins to get the best of his opponent until an Armstrong backdrop ends DiBiase’s night. George and Bastien continue a lengthy battle with no clear advantage. Armstrong continues his impressive run catching Vachon charging into the corner with an elbow to the face and then tossing him to the floor. George gets control of his battle with Bastien and sends him over the top to the floor. Armstrong and George are left to battle for the title. The action goes to the floor and George gets the best of the brawl. Back inside, George is able to slow the match down with a figure four leglock and then dumps Armstrong to the floor. You winner and first Junior Heavyweight Champion is Gorgeous George who wins the Battle Royal in his FCC debut! *** Harley Race v. Konnan Race looks very strong from the opening bell and really dominates the action with suplexes and headbutts but Konnan draws on the fans support and makes an impressive comeback starting with a somersault lariat that catches Race by surprise. The action goes back and forth and eventually spills to the floor where Race is disqualified for running Konnan face first into the steel rails by the fans. * Giant Baba & The Destroyer v. Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka Many fans and insiders alike were looking forward to this encounter. Brody and Snuka clearly have a game plan of isolating Destroyer and it works well early on. Baba is eventually able to tag into the action and dominates against both Brody and Snuka. The Superfly turns the momentum with a leap frog and chop that downs Baba for a two count. Destroyer saves Baba from being pinned after Snuka connects with a flying headbutt. Both teams are able to make frequent tags until Baba catches Brody coming off the ropes with a stiff chop and then hits a NECKBREAKER DROP. Snuka jumps Baba starting a wild brawl that Brody and Snuka get the best of. Snuka and Brody step up their attack on Baba. Brody gets the best of a brawl on the floor and then Snuka tags in and lands a SUPERFLY LEAP for the three count. *** ½ Jim Londos v. Ed “Strangler” Lewis In their two previous encounters Londos has come away the victor and Lewis was looking to finally get a win back against his long-time rival. The opening exchange of counters between these two was something to behold and had the fans cheering both men. Lewis was able to break the stalemate first and a double wristlock put Londos to the mat for a one count before Lewis really went to work with three consecutive STRANGLER’S HEADLOCKS. Each time Londos found a way to the ropes to keep the match going. The fans go behind Londos and he responding countering a back drop attempt with a pilediver and then catching Lewis in an AIRPLANE SPIN for a near fall. The action tumbled to the floor and Lewis rammed Londos into the ringpost head first earning himself a disqualification. After the bell, Lewis traps Londos in a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK at ringside squeezing the blood from Londos’s face and leaving Londos in a heap on the floor. *** Antonino Rocca v. Antonio Inoki A handshake gets the action underway. Many of the fans in attendance consider this bout to be one of the features and the atmosphere is electric from the outset. Both men trade moves in the ring without any clear advantage. Rocca takes some liberties when the action goes to the floor but the fans are so jubilant that they don’t seem to mind. Inoki is nearly countered out of the ring after Rocca dives onto him at ringside. The momentum continuously changes and neither man can get any significant attack in before their opponent finds a counter. Frustrations build and the start to spend some more time on the floor. Inoki becomes the aggressor at ringside and refuses to release an OCTOPUS HOLD on the floor earing himself a disqualification. ** ½ Frank Gotch v. George Hackenschmidt w/Nikita Breznikov This was the first one on one meeting of these two foes since Hackenschmidt and the Foreign Legion put Gotch on the shelf back at FCC 17. There is a natural intensity between these two and the fans eat up the early action. Hackenschmidt is able to trap Gotch in a RUSSIAN BEAR HUG early on but it is too early for Gotch to submit. The bout to goes to the floor and Breznikov earns some solid heat by getting involved in the action. Later, Hackenschmidt rams Gotch back first into the ring post and the fans are livid. Gotch somehow manages to battle back catching Hackenschmidt on the top of the corner and tossing him to the mat. Gotch picks up a couple of near falls and then clamps on the GOTCH TOE HOLD but Hackenschmidt makes the ropes and the bout continues. Hackenschmidt is able to power his way back into control and traps Gotch in another RUSSIAN BEAR HUG but Gotch punches free. Hackenschmidt immediately goes back to the hold and Gotch has no choice but to submit. Hackenschmidt scores a huge victory. **** FCC Tag Team Title Match – Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) (ch) w/Paul Ellering v. Steve Williams & Ted DiBiase What a slug fest this one was from beginning to end. Williams was a powerhouse early on really dominating in his time in the ring. Both Hawk and Animal are able to kick out of OKLAHOMA STAMPEDES and Animal survives a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK from DiBiase as well. The champions are on the defensive 80% of the match but finally make a comeback and catch Williams with back to back DOOMSDAY DEVICES with DiBiase making the pin save both times. Animal then crushes Williams with back to back POWERSLAMS but Dr. Death finds a way to get his shoulder up much to the delight of the fans. Hawk then tags in and nails Williams with a gut wrench suplex and hooks the leg for the three count. **** FCC Title Match – Mil Mascaras (ch) v. Rikidozan This was the first meeting of these two competitors in the FCC. There was short Puroresu Ceremony before the bell that both men participated in before the competitors shook hands and the action got underway. The fans were expecting a classic but the match was actually one sided with Mascaras dominating from the opening bell. Rikidozan kicked out after a FLYING BODYPRESS and CROSSBODY ATTACK early on and then Mascaras dove onto Rikidozan at ringside bring the fans to their feet. Mascaras then landed another CROSSBODY ATTACK for the win. *
