Crimson Cross I am glad you enjoyed New Road. It was a lot of fun to play out. The double disqualification finish has created a log jam at the top of the tag team division. The Commissioner may have to get involved. As well, George escaping via disqualification was a great heel finish but It has really thrown a wrench into my booking plans.
FCC 23 –Top Guns, Casino Magic Bay, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi
Samoan Island Tribe (Alofa & Samu) v. Chris Candido & Tom Prichard w/Tammy
The fans are all over Tammy at ringside but in the ring the Samoans dominate the action. A DIVING HEADBUTT nearly ends it but Tammy causes a distraction and keeps her team alive. Prichard leads his team back and clocks Alofa with a FOREIGN OBJECT to get a near fall. The action goes back and forth with both teams making tags. Samu ends the match with a headbutt to Candido to get the three count. ** ½
Harker Drige v. Jimmy Snuka
Snuka is out to a solid ovation from the fans who are excited to see the Superfly back in the FCC ring. Snuka dominated the early action with a series of chops and slams. Snuka backdrops Dirge to the floor in a crazy looking spot. Snuka continues to dominate the bout which goes back to the floor where Dirge runs him into the ring post and is disqualified. Dirge then traps Snuka at ringside with a DIRT NAP leaving him in a dazed on the floor and drawing huge heat. *
Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair) v. The James Gang (B.G. James & Kip James)
The James Gang mic work gets a nice response from the fans and they dominate the early part of the action picking up multiple near falls on Blair including one after a PUMP HANDLE SLAM by B.G. James. The Bees come back getting the best of B.G. James. Brunzell traps James in a figure four leg lock but cannot get the win. The James Gang battled back and B.G. James puts away Brunzell with a DDT. *
Bill Apter hosts the Hot Seat with guests Larry Sharpe, Steve Corino and King Kong Bundy who are joined by Nature Boy Buddy Rogers as the three Boys for Jersey. They cut a solid promo ripping the FCC fans until Johnny Valentine suddenly comes out and address Rogers calling the Nature Boy a coward and then Valentine attacks but he never really gets to Rogers as the numbers disadvantage was too much and Valentine took a vicious assault and was left in a heap in the middle of the ring.
Tiger Mask v. Jushin Liger
Last card Mask put in a dominating performance and came away with a big win over Liger. Liger was looking for a better result tonight and after a puroresu ceremony the action got underway at a quick pace. Mask and Liger when move for move counter for counter leaving the fans exhausted. Liger was able to use his slight power advantage to get the upper hand. Liger nailed Mask with a FISHERMAN’S BUSTER that nearly ended it and never looked back picking up near falls after a deathjump cross body and a rolling koppo kick. Liger then ended it with a second FISHERMAN’S BUSTER. ***
Timber v. Sabu
The fans knew this one could get out of control quickly and there as a nervous energy at ringside. Timber showed some skills catching Sabu charging into the corner with an elbow to the face and then followed immediately with a LOG SPLITTER for a near fall. Sabu got the best of brawl on the floor and then Timber showed he could also brawl winning another battle at ringside. The action went back to the floor once again and this time Timber took things too far ramming Sabu with his barbed war ax handle earning a disqualification. Timber was not finished and proceeded to attack Sabu with the weapon until Sabu was an absolutely bloody mess. *
No 1 Contenders Match – Frank Gotch v. George Hackenschmidt w/Nikita Breznikov
The crowd had no love for Breznikov or Hackenschmidt tonight and Gotch was really fired up for this one taking the early advantage. Gotch transitioned from a figure four leglock (ch) to a GOTCH TOE HOLD but Hackenschmidt made the ropes. Breznikov was able to distract the referee which saved Hackenschmidt from a second GOTCH TOE HOLD. Gotch stayed focused on the lower body with a rolling knee bar and then appeared to have the match won with a spinning neckbreaker (ch) but Breznikov jumped into the ring. However, Gotch took the manager out with a forearm uppercut and then dropped Hackenschmidt to the mat with an Iowa backdrop for the three count. ** ½
FCC Tag Team Title Match – Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) (ch) w/Paul Ellering v. Flying Redheads (Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien)
The story in this one was the Warrior’s power attack as they brutalized both of the challengers for most of the contest. Lyons saved Bastien from a DOOMSDAY DEVICE and later Bastien returned the favour for his partner. Somehow, the Redheads managed to hang in and avoid the three count. Bastien was even able best Hawk during a brawl on the floor and later connected with a series of dropkicks that sent Hawk spilling to ringside. The Road Warriors frustration of not being able to put away their challengers built up until Animal battering rammed Lyons into the ring post and earned himself a disqualification. The fans were not pleased with the final result but we can almost be sure the Warriors have not put this challenge behind them. ** ½
