Thanks for reading and commenting WF. I agree that Finlay/Taylor seem overmatched by Fuji/Saito but they did well in the title tournament so maybe they can pull off an upset.GCCW Update Johnny Valentine looks for a rematch with Nick Bockwinkel --Fresh off his controversial loss to GCCW champion, Nick Bockwinkel, last Friday, Johnny Valentine has been lobbying for a rematch to anyone who will listen. Of course, Bockwinkel's manager, Bobby Heenan is dead set against the idea and publicly stated that Valentine lost and does not deserve a rematch. Heenan denies that the Heenan Family caused Valentine to lose last week and again, reiterated his offer to manage Valentine in Texas if Johnny would leave the GCCW territory and get him a shot at the Texas champion, Lou Thesz. Johnny Valentine scoffed at the idea of leaving the Gulf Coast area and stated his #1 priority was to beat Bockwinkel. 'Cowboy' Bob Kelly has not made any mention of a possible Bockwinkel/Valentine rematch but did tell Johnny he would face Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens next week in tag team action. However, Johnny has to find a partner willing to tag with him for the match. --This Friday's card is headlined by a return bout for th GCCW tag titles, as Mr Fuji/Mr Saito defend their titles against Finlay/David Taylor. David Taylor was injured during their last match after taking the DOOMSDAY DEVICE from the Road Warriors and crashing to the arena floor during the tournament. This time the tables have been turned as Taylor is 100% healthy and Fuji/Saito are not after the champs were badly beaten up by Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers last Friday. The champs are still the favorites going in but it won't be easy going against the challengers. --Also scheduled for the card, Antonio Inoki faces Ox Baker in his Power-10 Series. The Flying Redheads vs Heenan Family rivalry is once again on display as Red Bastien faces Ray Stevens in singles action. After their exciting Time Limit Draw last week, 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell once agin face The Vachons. Mad Dog/Butcher were visibly upset at being upstaged by the upstart tag team and are looking to school the fan favorites with some old-school tactics. Complete card schedule is listed below. Love Brothers vs Jake Milliman/SD Jones Bruiser Brody w/ SOH vs Dan Spivey Magnum TA/Mike Graham vs Rick Rude/Chris Candido w/ TLS Tony Atlas/Koko B. Ware vs Angelo Poffo/JJ Dillon Tommy Gilbert vs Johnny Valentine 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell vs The Vachons w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink Red Bastien vs Ray Stevens Power-10 Series: Antonio Inoki vs Ox Baker Main Event: GCCW tag: Mr Fuji/Mr Saito vs Finlay/David Taylor

GCCW #18 Civic Center; Lake Charles, LA; 13 Feb 2015 ....The Civic Center is jammed to the rafters for the latest offering of Gulf Coast Championship Wrestling. Rumors surfaced over the past couple of days that Nick Bockwinkel would be in attendance but those rumors could not be confirmed by your trusty GCCW reporter. There are some great matchups on the card so let's get to the action.... --Match #1: Love Brothers def. Jake Milliman/SD Jones by pinfall. The 'hippies' scored a much needed win over Milliman/Jones. Jake/SD may not be favorites to win very many matches but Hartford/Reginald needed this victory to restore their confidence. The Brothers put down Milliman with the DOUBLE SLAM for the finish. The Brothers threw flowers into the crowd....who promptly threw them back, much to the chagrin of Hartford/Reginald. --Match #2: Bruiser Brody w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink def. Dan Spivey by pinfall.Humperdink has Brody stepping up in competition this week against 'Dangerous' Dan. Spivey is just looking for any glimmer of hope to score his first singles victory here in GCCW. Spivey jumped Brody before the bell rang and soon had Bruiser in a bad way. Humperdink kept his man in it until he recovered enough to mount a comeback. Spivey got caught paying to much attention to Humperdink's theatrics and got nailed with a chain-assisted clothesline. Brody lands the JUMPING KNEE DROP to score the win over Spivey. After the match, Humperdink got on the house mike and challenged anyone to face his 'King Kong' monster. --Match #3: Magnum TA/Mike Graham def. Rick Rude/Chris Candido w/ Tammy Lynn Sytch by pinfall.GCCW United States champion, Rick Rude defends his title next week against Terry Gordy and wanted no part of this match. Candido didn't want much to do with Magnum/Graham either and we had a stalemate at the start of the match to see who would start for Sytch's team. As they were arguing, Magnum grabbed Rude to start the match and laid into him with a series of running forearms and dropkicks. Graham also took it to Rude who desperately tried to tag out but couldn't reach his corner. Finally, Candido charged the ring to cause a distraction so Sytch could intefere. However, her interference backfired and she mistakenly slugged Rude with her 'LOADED PURSE.' Rude stumbled into Magnum's BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX for the finish. Magnum now has a singles win over Antonio Inoki and has pinned Rick Rude in tag team action and now, has to be a top contender for the GCCW US title. --Match #4: Angelo Poffo/JJ Dillon def. Tony Atlas/Koko B. Ware by pinfall.Koko brought Frankie to ringside against Tony's wishes and that proved to be the distraction Poffo/Dillon needed to get the win. Atlas was dominating Poffo/Dillon until JJ went after Frankie. Koko intervened allowing Dillon to hit Atlas with a pair of brass knuckles. Angelo nails Atlas with the NECKBREAKER for the finish. --Match #5: Johnny Valentine def. Tommy Gilbert by disqualification.Valentine continued his aggressiveness in this match as he didn't allow Gilbert a lot of offense. However, the real action happened after Johnny landed the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER onto Gilbert, as Nick Bockwinkel came out of the crowd and blasted Valentine with the GCCW championship belt. Bock drove Valentine head-first into the belt with a brutal piledriver before security could force Nick to the back. This Bock/Valentine feud just got very personal! --Match #6: The Vachons w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink def. 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell by pinfall. These two teams faced each other last week as they went to a Time Limit Draw. Scorpio/Bagwell were pleased with their performance last week but the Vachons were miffed that they could put the young upstart team away. Butcher/Mad Dog jumped Scorpio/Bagwell before the bell rang and concentrated their attacks against the younger Bagwell. Scorpio/Bagwell never recovered from the pre-match attack as Scorpio fell to a chain-assisted Mad Dog Pounce by Mad Dog Vachon. --Match #7: Ray Stevens def. Red Bastien by pinfall. Red Bastien continues his crusade against the Heenan Family. Bastien's Flying Redhead partner, Billy 'Red' Lyons, was not in the area this week as he was booked in the Toronto territory and he would have to contend with the Heenan Family by himself. The match only lasted around 5-minutes as Nick Bockwinkel was at ringside and Johnny Valentine, who was sporting a head bandage and a neck brace, chased Bock around ringside. Referee, Jack Arnold, had his hands full trying to control the chaos as the distraction allowed Stevens to use Bockwinkel's GCCW title on Bastien. Somehow, Red kicked out of the BOMBS AWAY attempt but Stevens quickly dropped Bastien with a Crippling Piledriver for the finish. Heenan rounded up Bock and Stevens and headed to the safety of the locker room. --Match #8: Power-10 Series: Antonio Inoki def. Ox Baker by pinfall.Antonio Inoki has won two in a row after his opening match loss to Magnum TA in the series. After the craziness of the last match, Baker tried to actually wrestle Inoki. When that didn't work, Baker went back to his brawling tactics but Inoki outbrawled Baker as well. Inoki wins the match with the ENZUIGIRI after Ox misses a turnbuckle charge. Inoki moves to 3-1 in his Power-10 Series. --Match #9: Main Event: GCCW tag titles: Mr Fuji/Mr Saito def. Finlay/David Taylor by submission to retain the titles.Mr Fuji/Mr Saito beat Finlay/David Taylor to win the GCCW tag title tournament three weeks ago but Taylor was nursing a leg injury he suffered at the hands of the Road Warriors. However this time the roles have been reversed as Fuji/Saito come into this match after sustaining a brutal beating last week from Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers and Finlay/Taylor are 100% healthy. The beating was so bad that local cops in Mobile had to handcuff Rich/Smothers to stop them from continuing the beating. Fuji/Saito's obvious discomfort allowed Finlay/Taylor to control most of the match. Fuji/Saito saved their titles several times with timely pinfall breakups. As the match moved to its conclusion, Fuji blasted Taylor's recently healed knee with a chair outside the ring. Taylor had mobility problems for the rest of the match and found himself locked in Saito's painful Prison Deathlock. Fuji prevented Finlay from making the save and Taylor had no choice but to submit. Mr Fuji/Mr Saito retain the GCCW tag titles in their 1st title defense. That wraps up another week of awesome GCCW action as Mr Fuji/Mr Saito retain their tag titles. The Heenan Family continues their attacks on Red Bastien and Johnny Valentine as their separate feuds with both men are starting to reach a definite boiling point. Antonio Inoki wins his 3rd match in a row in his Power-10 Series as Magnum TA, the only man to beat Inoki so far, has staked a claim for a shot at the GCCW United States title. It was also a great week for the House of Humperdink. **Next week, we roll into Tallahassee, Florida as the action continues from the Leon County Civic Center. On top, Rick Rude defends the GCCW United States championship against Terry Gordy. Gordy is looking for some payback as he lost their last encounter by count-out after Chris Candido/Tammy Lynn Sytch interfered. Both Candido and Sytch promised to be at ringside for the match. **Also on the card, Johnny Valentine and a mystery partner will square off against Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens. Red Bastien seems to be the consensus of who Valentine's mystery partner will be but so far Johnny isn't talking. What we do know is Valentine is very eager to get his hands on Bockwinkel and may not even notice the other two men in the match with him and Bock. Hopefully, we will have more on this situation in the Mid-Week update. **In a huge match in the next installment of the Power-10 Series, Antonio Inoki faces off against the 'Wild-Eyed Southern Boy' himself, Tommy Rich. Inoki, who has won the last three matches in his Series, faces strong competition from Rich, who is not only the top contenders with Tracy Smothers for the GCCW tag titles but is also looking at climbing the singles ranks as well. **After Bruiser Brody's win over Dan Spivey, Sir Oliver Humperdink issued an open challenge for anyone to face his charge. Well, someone has sent notice that he intends to step in the ring with Bruiser next week. It is too early to speculate just who answered the challenge but this person has promised to reveal himself before the Mid-Week update comes out. We will reveal the name then. **After tonight's card, The Vachons once again challenged 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell to another match next week. The Vachons still aren't happy with the Time Limit Draw last week and tonight's punishing win did nothing to brighten their mood. The Vachons are looking to hurt their upstart opponents but Scorpio/Bagwell intend to embarrass the Vachons. ....Stay Tuned for the Mid-Week Update....See You Next Week In Tallahassee....

Hey, this fed is phenomenal! Your write-ups are tremendous and easy to read. The continuity from card-to-card is top notch.
What I like the most is how everything means something--every match has an arch. From the opening Champion's Carnival, to the headlining angles, to the ongoing tournaments, to Inoki's Power-10 Series (which is ultimately going to get him over HUGE), to Spivey's terrible record, all the way down to the booking of the undercard guys. Truly inspiring stuff you've got going on.
I'll add to speculation: Although they have a lot of heart, The Redheads haven't been so lucky in their challenges against Heenan's charges. Johnny Valentine should look a little closer to home if he wants to get one over his foes.

Thanks for commenting Spaceman and I’m glad you enjoy reading my fed. I borrowed the write-up style from Tim Dalton’s NWF: Booking 102. He is the master at this type of write-up style and would suggest reading Tim’s fed as well. I am trying to mimic a regional fed with established tiers and like the direction it’s headed so far. I may do a “Behind The Book” post at the end of the month when the February rankings are posted. As far as Inoki goes, I haven’t used him very much prior to GCCW and like the idea of the Power-10 Series to see what he can do. I like the underdog status of the Redheads when they face the Heenan Family. Bobby Heenan’s interference rating makes a huge difference for his team. He has gotten Bockwinkel out of some sticky situations so far in the early days of GCCW. I will team the Valentines up in the sorta near future but that won’t happen for a few months yet. The Johnny Valentine/Steve Williams feud is just ramping up and hopefully, it will stay hot through the summer.

**GCCW Update** Johnny Valentine's Tag Team Partner & Bruiser Brody's Mystery Opponent Revealed --Speculation as to who Johnny Valentine's tag team partner is as they face Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens this Friday has centered on either Red Bastien or Billy 'Red' Lyons. However, neither is correct as Dan Spivey is the man who will team with Valentine. Backstage sources say that 'Dangerous' Dan lobbied Johnny thoughout the weekend to be his tag team partner for this match. These same sources say Johnny has told Dan to stay out of his way as he deals with Bockwinkel and Dan can beat up on Stevens as much as he wants. This could be a desparation move for Spivey as he sees this as a chance to break out of his GCCW funk. Vaelntine comes into this match banged up after Bockwinkel spiked him on the GCCW title belt with a vicious Piledriver. Either way Bockinkel/Stevens versus Valentine/Spivey should be a hard-hitting affair. --Speaking of Bockwinkel/Stevens blatant use of the GCCW title as a weapon, both men have been fined by 'Cowboy' Bob Kelly $5,000 each for mis-conduct offenses. Kelly stated the use of the GCCW title as a weapon shows obvious disrespect for the title and for what it means to the territory the belt represents and to the fans that buy tickets to see GCCW shows. In a written statement, Bobby Heenan said the fines were unwarranted as Bockwinkel and Stevens were defending themselves from the heinous attacks of Johnny Valentine and Red Bastien. Kelly wasn't moved by Heenan's written statement and told Heenan to write the $10,000 check or be fired. Heenan has privately stated he will push for a resolution to get his money back. --Last Friday, Sir Oliver Humperdink issued an open challenge for this Friday in Tallahassee, Florida for his singles charge, Bruiser Brody. Brody hasn't had much competition since he entered the GCCW territory with Humperdink calling on more significant matches for his main singles attraction. This reporter has learned that a former Mid-Atlantic United States champion from Sweetwater, Texas has answered Humperdink's challenge. Humperdink nearly came unglued when he found out Blackjack Mulligan had answered the challenge and stated that Brody will not face a wrestler that is not contracted to GCCW. Unfortunately for the fans and fortunately for Humperdink, a contract was not able to be signed in time for Mulligan to face Brody this Friday. However, GCCW officials have ironed out contract details with Mulligan and he will debut in the near future. In the meantime, Tommy Gilbert has stepped up and answered Humperdink's challenge this week. Mulligan has promised to be in the arena this Friday, even if he has to buy a ticket.

GCCW #19 Leon County Civic Center; Tallahassee, FL; 20 Feb 2015 ....A great crowd has turned out tonight, even if the temperatures in the area have been unseasonably cold over the last few days. The action inside the building will be as hot as a July day in Tallahassee. Blackjack Mulligan was introduced to the crowd and got a standing ovation. It was announced that Mulligan's GCCW contract becomes official at midnight tonight.... --Match #1: Tony Atlas/Koko B. Ware battled the Love Brothers to a Time Limit Draw.A good bout to start the show as nobody expected both teams to battle to a time limit draw. Once again, Koko brought Frankie down to ringside, much to the chagrin of Tony Atlas and Frankie would figure into the finish of the match. As the time limit was winding down, Koko dropped Reginald Love with the GHOSTBUSTER but heard Frankie squawking as the kids at ringside where feeding him small crackers. Koko inexplicably got up to see what was going on and before he could re-cover Reginald, the bell rung ending the match. Tony Atlas was beside himself at the turn of events. --Match #2: The Bushwackers def. George Steele/Warlord by pinfall. With GCCW being relatively new and the fact W/L records factor into title shots, there are more than few tag teams with decent records on the roster. One of those teams are the Bushwackers who were looking to solidify there standing in the tag team rankings. Somehow, maybe sensing they could be in-line for a tag title shot, Butch/Luke turned it up a notch and put in a dominating performance. The finish came as Butch hit Warlord with the RUNNING KNEE SMASH allowing Luke to score the pinfall. --Match #3: Chris Candido w/ Tammy Lynn Sytch def. Mike Graham by pinfall. This singles match was the first singles match for both wrestlers in the GCCW areas as they have been teaming with their tag partners against each other. Tammy was a factor in this match as she always seems to be as she tried to turn her charms on Graham. Mike was in control of the match until he went to the top turnbuckle and Tammy smashed him with her LOADED PURSE. Chris, who had turned referee, Tommy Hatcher away from the interference, landed the BLONDE BOMB for the win. --Match #4: The Vachons w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink def. 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell by pinfall. This unlikely feud has caught the eye of the fans across the territory. The Vachons, even though they beat Scorpio/Bagwell last week, feel they were humiliated after Scorpio/Bagwell took them to a time limit draw 2 weeks ago. Butcher/Mad Dog have made their short-term mission to inflict as much pain as they can on their upstart opponents. Like last week, The Vachons were in no danger of losing the match, especially with Humperdink at ringside, however, they could not put Scorpio/Bagwell away. Bagwell took a beating in the match and was caught twice with a chain-assisted double clothesline from the Vachons, leaving him bruised and bloody by matches end. As the time limit drew near, Mad Dog pinned Bagwell his PILEDRIVER finisher. Afterwards, neither the Vachons nor Humperdink were happy with their performance as it looks like this feud may still have some legs. --Match #5: Ox Baker def. Red Bastien by pinfall. Another match that pitted a member of the Heenan Family versus a member of the Flying Redheads. With Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens already booked for later in the card, Red Bastien took this match against the Heenan Family enforcer, Ox Baker. With the hatred that exists between Nick Bockwinkel and Red Bastien, you just knew Bock or Stevens would get involved in the match and that is just what happened. Red was jumped before the match as Bock dropped him on the rampway with a Piledriver. After that, the match was almost academic with Ox in control the entire way. Red tried to fight back but to weak from the earlier attack and Baker's HEART PUNCH ended the one-sided affair. --Match #6: Bruiser Brody w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink def. Tommy Gilbert by pinfall. The big story coming into this match was the saga with Blackjack Mulligan. Mulligan has originally signed to take this match but Humperdink weaseled out of it by saying Brody would only face someone on the GCCW roster. Mulligan will be officially on the GCCW roster as of Midnight tonight and had bought a ringside ticket for the show. Brody and Humperdink taunted Mulligan but kept their distance from the big Texan. Gilbert put up a fight, as he always does, but Brody was too much for the senior Gilbert. Bordy dropped the JUMPING KNEE DROP for the finish. Things got interesting afterwards as Humperdink told Brody to inflict more punishment on Gilbert but Mulligan jumped into the ring causing Brody and Humperdink to bail. --Match #7: Power-10 Series: Tommy Rich def. Antonio Inoki by pinfall. Antonio Inoki has won his last 3 Power-10 Series matches and stood at 3-1 coming into this match. Tommy Rich is always a dangerous opponent and a top contender in any promotion he wrestles in. Both wrestler's double finishers factored heavily into the match as the token piled up quickly. Inoki applied the OCTOPUS HOLD 5 times during the match and Rich locked Inoki in the SLEEPER 6 times over the course of the match. Finally, a weaken Inoki went for the ENZUIGIRI but Rich ducked and landed the THESZ PRESS for the win. Both men shook hands afterwards to the delight of the crowd. Inoki now stands at 3-2 in his Power-10 Series and Rich showed he should be considered a top contender for Nick Bockwinkel's GCCW title. --Match #8: Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens def. Johnny Valentine/Dan Spivey by disqualification.A lot of speculation and drama went in to the hype for this match as 'Dangerous' Dan would not be the 1st choice of many to help Johnny Valentine against Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens. Bobby Heenan was also weary because Bockwinkel has a GCCW title defense next week against Steve 'Dr Death' Williams and Heenan wanted Bock fresh for that match. Valentine started the match against Stevens as Bockwinkel wanted no part of Johnny throughout the match. Spivey, on the other hand, was a wrecking ball during the match. He battered Stevens from pillar to post and took Bock to the woodshed during the few minutes Nick was in the ring. Spivey took Stevens to the floor and finally, Valentine got his hands on Bock. However, Heenan tripped Valentine allowing Nick to work over Johnny's knee. Bockwinkel's FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK soon followed but Spivey crashed the party and crushed Nick's forehead with a steel chair causing the DQ. Afterwards, Valentine dropped consecutive ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERs on Bock's skull as Heenan was practically crying on the outside. --Match #9: GCCW United States title: Rick Rude def. Terry Gordy by pinfall to retain the title. Rick Rude had won the title tournament after shenanigans by Chris Candido/Tammy Lynn Sytch gave Rude the win by countout. Promoter, 'Cowboy' Bob Kelly allowed the finish to stand but ordered Rude to defend the title against Gordy in his 1st title defense. Gordy was out for revenge and was in firm control early on in the match. Gordy matched Rude power for power and came out on top after hitting a nasty Bamm Bamm slam. Gordy was going in for the finish when Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch came down to the ringside. After Candido put Rude's foot on the ropes after Terry had crushed Rude with the POWERBOMB, Terry uncharacteristically climbed the turnbuckles and once again Sytch used her LOADED PURSE to change the match entirely. Rude quickly nails the downed Gordy with the RUDE AWAKENING for his 1st title defense. --That concludes another week of great GCCW wrestling action. Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch's constant interference in Rick Rude's matches has caused some to openly call for them to be banned from ringside during his matches. The Bockwinkel/Valentine situation has not cooled off at all, especially after tonight and looks to be hotter than ever. **The bandwagon rolls across the Gulf Coast into the western part of the territory. The City Auditorium in Houston, Tx is the next stop for the GCCW circus. On top, Nick Bockwinkel defends his GCCW championship against 'Dr Death' Steve Williams. After tonight, Nick will not be 100% going into the math and Williams is coming off a significant injury as well. Both wrestler's injuries were caused by Johnny Valentine who will be in the building next Friday night. One other significant factor to be noted is that, although Steve Williams is a fan favorite across the rest of the territory, he is roundly booed in Texas with his ties to the Oklahoma football program. It will be a weird dynamic when Bockwinkel is cheered and Williams is booed. **Antonio Inoki's Power-10 Series rolls on as well after his tough loss tonight against Tommy Rich. However, Inoki faces another tough hombre when he steps in the ring against Bruiser Brody. In respect to Inoki, Sir Oliver Humperdink will not be at ringside for the match but assures everyone who will listen that Brody will get a win in the match. You can be assured that Blackjack Mulligan will not interfere in the match as well. However, with Mulligan under contract, he will be in the building next week where he will square off against Butcher Vachon and you can bet Humperdink will be at ringside for that match. **With his win over Antonio Inoki, Magnum TA has been officially announced as the next contender for Rick Rude's GCCW US title. With that in mind, Magnum will team with Mike Graham to face Rude and Chris Candido next week. Tammy Lynn Sytch will certainly bring her LOADED PURSE to the fray, however, Magnum/Graham promise to have an answer for Sytch. ....Stay tuned for the Mid-Week Update & see you next week in Houston....

What an odd turn of events in the opening tag team match. If Frankie is going to be a distraction, maybe Koko should think about leaving him in the back.
Bagwell and Scorpio look strong even in the loss. And these matches with the Vachons are progressively getting more violent.
I'd question if Ox Baker even needed the help to beat Bastien but it doesn't matter now. A piledriver on the ramp is no joke, either!
Excellent job building up the Mulligan/Brody feud without even having a match first! Can't wait to see how things develop.
You're not lobbing softballs for Inoki in the Power Series. I'm almost thinking he'll be lucky to just break even when all is said and done.
I was admittedly underwhelmed with the announcement of Spivey as Valentine's partner, but wow, did he deliver! He's turning heads for sure. And Bock being laid out like he was is HUGE.
I was certain Gordy would leave with the US title but as long as Rude has Candido and Tammy around he could be in for a long reign.
I appreciate the little note about the crowds in Texas. Another great card in the books, gabe!

**GCCW Update** Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers Suspended For 30 Days --Your humble GCCW beat reporter has learned, after a lengthy review, the GCCW Board of Directors has suspended Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers for 30 days effective tomorrow, 27 Feb 2015. Rich/Smothers were touted to be the next challengers for the GCCW tag titles but the BoD were not happy with the vicious beatdown that Rich/Smothers gave the champions, Mr Fuji/Mr Saito, back on 6 Feb. Rich/Smothers pleaded their case before the Board earlier this week but they were not successful in getting their suspensions lifted. For its part, the Board recognized that Fuji/Saito had started the altercation but the fact, local police had to handcuff both Rich/Smothers to stop the mugging did not bode well for them. The suspension will be lifted on 29 March 2015 but the earliest Rich/Smothers could challenge for the tag titles would be 17 April 2015. Promoter, 'Cowboy' Bob Kelly issued a statement that the winner of the Bushwackers versus Angelo Poffo/JJ Dillon tomorrow night would receive the tag title shot next Friday.

GCCW #20 City Auditorium; Houston, TX; 27 Feb 2015
--Match #1: 'Dangerous' Dan Spivey def. SD Jones by pinfall.'Dangerous' Dan, fresh off his impressive showing last week when he teamed with Johnny Valentine, dismantled his overmatched opponent. Johnny Valentine was at ringside for this match and nodded his approval as Spivey continued his destruction of Jones. A ring-shaking side walk slam led right into the POWERBOMB for the finish and Spivey gets his first singles win in GCCW. The bigger question becomes is Valentine and Spivey working together? --Match #2: The Bushwackers def. Angelo Poffo/JJ Dillon by pinfall.Added incentive coming into this match for both teams as the winner would get a shot at the GCCW tag titles next week against Mr Fuji/Mr Saito. Poffo/Dillon started strong and Dillon almost scored the pinfall when he dropped his ELBOW DROP finisher across the throat of Luke Williams. However, the unorthodox team of Miller/Williams fought their way back and won when Miller hit Poffo with the RUNNING KNEE SMASH allowing Williams to score the pinfall. The Bushwackers will now face the tag champs next week. --Match #3: George 'The Animal' Steele def. Hacksaw Jim Duggan by pinfall.Hacksaw Jim Duggan was looking for a little revenge as George 'The Animal' Steele already owns one victory over him. Duggan started strong and hit the FLYING SPEAR early in the match but wasn't able to get the pinfall. Duggan made the mistake of sending George into the turnbuckle as once again, George tore the turnbuckle open and stuffed the stuffing in Hacksaw's face. A subsequent turnbuckle charge by Duggan saw George move out of the way and Hacksaw crashed through the turnbuckles and smashed his shoulder against the ringpost. Outside of the ring, George locked in the FLYING HAMMERLOCK and sent Duggan into the ringpost twice while still in the move. By this point, Duggan's arm was hanging limp by his side and almost completely useless. Back in the ring, a running knee by George puts Duggan down for the 3-count. --Match #4: The Love Brothers def. Tony Atlas/Koko B. Ware by pinfall. Last week, these two team battled to a time limit draw after Koko got distracted by Frankie at ringside. Again, this week much to the continued chagrin of Tony Atlas, Koko brought Frankie to ringside. Koko politely asked the kids at ringside not to toss crackers to Frankie during the match. Tony Atlas did the majority of the workload for his team as Koko had one eye on the match and the other on Frankie. During the match, a small child reached out to give Frankie a cracker causing Koko to yell at the child from the ring apron. Atlas, who had been whipped into the ropes by Reginald Love, crashed into Koko, sending Koko flying into the railing at ringside. Reginald used the opportunity to roll Atlas up and got the pinfall after grabbing Atlas trunks for leverage. Afterwards, Koko was more concerned with the well-being of his pet than his tag team partner in the ring. --Match #5: 2 Cold Scorpio def. Mad Dog Vachon w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink by disqualification. The matches between the Vachons and the upstart team of 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell have been one-sided but the face team have more than held their own during this series. That fact has angered the Vachons who are intent on hurting their opponents than winning the matches. Of course, this match would be no different as Vachon beat Scorpio up but could not put him away. Scorpio survived an onslaught from Mad Dog as two Vachon PILEDRIVERs did not get Mad Dog the win. As Scorpio somehow battled back, a frustrated Vachon grabbed his chains from ringside and belted Scorpio with them, drawing the DQ. Vachon kept up the attack until security could intervene as something tells me this is far from over. --Match #6: Magnum TA/Mike Graham def. Rick Rude/Chris Candido w/ Tammy Lynn Sytch by disqualification. Magnum is Rude's next challenger for the GCCW United States title and this was suppose to be a preview of what that match will look like. However, early in the match as Magnum had the upperhand on Rude, Sytch blasted Magnum with her LOADED PURSE causing the DQ. As Candido and Graham were battling on the floor, Rude dropped Magnum with not one but two RUDE AWAKENINGS before Graham could make the save. Afterwards, Rude told the 'Texas Teabillies' Magnum didn't stand a chance against him when the title was on the line in two weeks. --Match #7: Blackjack Mulligan def. Butcher Vachon w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink by pinfall.Mulligan made his dramatic entrance into the GCCW area last week when he signed for a match against Bruiser Brody. However, with some Humperdink shenanigans, that match didn't happen and this was Mulligan's GCCW debut. Though he had his moments during the match, Butcher was no match for the fired up Texan. The crowd were cheering every move Mulligan hit and the crowd nearly blew the roof off the City Auditorium when Mulligan locked in the CLAWHOLD. However, Humperdink was able to drape Butcher's foot over the bottom rope to break the hold. As Mulligan went after Humperdink, Butcher swung a wild right hand, only to have Mulligan duck and respond with a vicious lariat to get the pinfall. --Match #8: Power-10 Series: Antonio Inoki def. Bruiser Brody by disqualification. The line-up that Inoki is facing during his Power-10 Series is nothing to sneeze at and the prospect of him not getting the agreed upon 7 wins to secure a GCCW title shot is a reality. These two old foes squared off and went at each other in a slugfest. Sir Oliver Humperdink, who had agreed to not be at ringside for this match, came down to ringside after Inoki had rammed Brody into the ringpost, busting the 'wild man' open. The argument between Inoki and Humperdink over the breech in match protocol gave Brody the opening he needed to get control of the match. An irate Inoki slapped Humperdink across the face sending the rotund manager through the ropes and to the floor. Brody had grabbed his chains and blasted Inoki right in the mouth causing referee, Jack Arnold to DQ Brody. However, if Brody thought Inoki was going to go down with the blow by the chains, he had another thing coming. Inoki, bleeding from the mouth, let out a rage-filled scream and hit Brody in the chest with a double palm strike that sent Brody reeling through the ropes to the floor. Brody wanted to charge the ring but Humperdink was able to hustle Brody to the back. Officially, Inoki is 4-2 and faces another tough challenge next week in 'tricky' Nicky Bockwinkel. --Match #9: GCCW championship: Nick Bockwinkel def. Steve Williams by pinfall for his 3rd title defense. The City Auditorium has been sold out for weeks in anticipation for this match. Nick Bockwinkel, who received a smattering of applause from the crowd and not the usual boos, came out with the Heenan Family but referee, Speedy Hatfield sent Ray Stevens and Ox Baker to the back to Heenan's loud protests. 'Boomer Sooner' blared out over the PA and the crowd erupted in boos for the Steve Williams. Williams, who had been out for the last three weeks thanks to Johnny Valentine, just soaked up the boos and nodded to the crowd during match introductions. After the feeling-out period early in the match, Dr Death went to town on Bockwinkel. Nick survived several pinfall attempts after Doc landed Doctor Bombs and a Backdrop Driver on the champ. Bobby Heenan got involved allowing Bock to clip Williams' knee and it was Nick's turn to inflict some punishment. Bock locked in the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK twice but twice Dr Death powered out of the move. Once again, Doc was on the offensive but he couldn't set Bock up for the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE to finish the match. Heenan got involved again as Doc set up for his finisher, Bobby grabbed Williams' leg. Doc pulled Heenan up onto the ring apron and sent the champ's manager flying to the floor with right hand but not before Heenan was able to throw Nick a pair of brass knux. As Speedy Hatfield was checking on Heenan, Bock decked Dr Death with the brass knux and scored the pinfall victory to retain his title. As the match was awarded to Nick Bockwinkel, Johnny Valentine and Dan Spivey raced to ringside causing the champ to grab his title belt and his manager and high-tail it back to the dressing room. Valentine surveyed his sworn enemy laying on the mat and dropped three ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERs on Dr Death. Doc was busted open as Valentine readied for his finisher for a 4th time but Terry Gordy ran out from the back and chased Valentine/Spivey from the ring. --Wow! Another great night of action from the GCCW contingent. Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan once again sneak out a win for Bock for a title defense. Anytime, Nick defends the GCCW title, it turns out to be a great but controversial match. You can look up controversial in the dictionary and you would find photos of Nick and Bobby in the definition. **Next week, the GCCW train heads east on I-10 and then north on I-55 to the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, Mississippi for next week's show. On top, is match #7 of the Power-10 Series where Antonio Inoki will square off against Nick Bockwinkel. The GCCW title will not be at stake but the stakes are definitely high for both wrestlers. Inoki desperately wants to show the GCCW Board of Directors he deserve a GCCW title shot while Bockwinkel wants nothing more than to win this match and stake a claim that Inoki does not warrant that shot. **With Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers suspended, GCCW tag champs, Mr Fuji/Mr Saito will face the Bushwackers next week for their 2nd title defense. Butch Miller/Luke Williams earned the shot after beating Angelo Poffo/JJ Dillon tonight. Miller/Williams may seem a long shot and over-matched on paper but they are undefeated since the inception of GCCW. Next week, we will see if they can continue their unbeaten run and win the titles in the process. **With Steve 'Dr Death' Williams' 2nd unsuccessful chance at winning the GCCW title from Nick Bockwinkel, Doc has vowed to hurt Johnny Valentine, especially after the post-match attack tonight. Williams and Terry Gordy are re-forming their Miracle Violence Connection tag team from Japan and will face Valentine and Dan Spivey next week. This match promises to be a slobber-knocker on paper and am sure it will not disappoint. **For those of you who are anticipating a Blackjack Mulligan versus Bruiser Brody matchup will be disappointed. Mulligan has publicly stated he will face Brody anytime, anywhere, Sir Oliver Humperdink was not having any of it. Humperdink stated Mulligan hasn't earned a chance to face Brody in the ring and Brody won't even be in the GCCW territory next week. Mulligan has signed for a match against the Warlord next week instead. **Two rematches will feature on next week's card as well. Mad Dog Vachon will once again go after 2 Cold Scorpio and Hacksaw Jim Duggan has demanded another match against George 'The Animal' Steele. We have one debut next week as the 'Man Who Made Milwaukee Famous' enters the territory as the Crusher faces JJ Dillon. I am sure the vast amount of beer drinkers who inhabit our shows will appreciate a man who can consume massive amounts of beer and still whip somebody's behind in the ring! ....Stay tuned for the Mid-Week Update & we'll see you next week in Jackson, MS....
