**GCCW Update** Steel Cage Match Announced --GCCW officials have announced 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell will meet The Vachons inside the 1st-ever Steel Cage Match in GCCW history on April 24th. Scorpio/Bagwell asked for this match after being injured by The Vachons more than a month ago. Scorpio/Bagwell have not had a good track record against Mad Dog/Butcher but have tested the Algerian brother duo. They have showed their toughness in the beatings they have sustained at the hands of Sir Oliver Humperdink's men. The popular Scorpio/Bagwell scored a draw against their hated rivals way back on February 6th but have not been able to do better than that, going 0-2 since then. However, Scorpio scored a win over Mad Dog on March 6th that led to the sustained injuries by both Scorpio and Bagwell. In agreeing to the match, Sir Oliver Humperdink reiterated that this will be the last time Mad Dog/Butcher will face Scorpio/Bagwell as he has bigger plans for his battle-hardened duo. Humperdink acknowledged that he is seeking a shot at the GCCW tag titles for The Vachons in the near future. The Vachons are 6-0-1 so far in tag team action and have been a dominant force in the division. Insiders say they could receive that title shot as early as May 8th depending on the outcome of this week's GCCW tag title defense by Mr Fuji/Mr Saito.

GCCW #27 Municipal Auditorium; Pensacola, FL; 17 April 2015 ....It's amazing how this past week has seemed like it lasted more than three weeks. Anyway, excellent card on tap with the tag match between Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens vs Johnny Valentine/Dan Spivey moved to the Main Event spot. Mr Fuji/Mr Saito defend the GCCW tag titles against Tony Atlas/Koko B. Ware and we have Match #2 in Antonio Inoki vs The Destroyer's Best of 5 Series. Let's get to the action.... --Match #1: Bobby Shane def. Jake Milliman by referee stoppage. This was Bobby Shane's debut in the GCCW area but he is no stranger to the wrestling fans in Florida where his rulebreaking and his penchant for referring to himself as the 'King of Wrestling'. Shane dominated his opponent often trying to mock Milliman and taunt the perennial enhancement talent. Shane finally locked in his JAPANESE SLEEPER and Tommy Hatcher had to stop the match. Afterwards, Shane refused to wake Milliman up from his induced slumber until Hatcher threatened to DQ Shane. --Match #2: Butcher Vachon def. Brad Armstrong by pinfall. The Armstrong/Vachon feud has grown in leaps and bounds after Bob/Brad stepped in after Mad Dog/Butcher injured 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell. With Sir Oliver Humperdink at ringside, Butcher Vachon would always have the upper hand against the younger Armstrong. However, Brad would not go down without a fight as he scored several nearfalls with his RUSSIAN LEGSWEEP finisher but in the end, Humperdink provided the advantage. With Humperink distracting Tommy Hatcher, Butcher drilled Brad with a chain-assisted running lariat to score the pinfall.
--Match #3: Mad Dog Vachon def. Bob Armstrong by pinfall.Once again, Sir Oliver Humperdink plays a big part in the finish as the two combatants go toe-to-toe. Armstrong, tired of Humperdink's repeated interference, dropped Humperdink off the ring apron with a big right hand. However, Bob turned around into a low-blow and a Vachon PILEDRIVER for the finish. Bob remains winless in GCCW singles action while amazingly, this is Mad Dog's first singles win in GCCW competition.
--Match #4: Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers def. Magnum TA/Mike Graham by pinfall.Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers continue their march to a GCCW tag title match. The two face teams went at each other and some fisticuffs were thrown. In the end, Rich drops Graham with the THESZ PRESS to pick up the win for his team. Afterwards, the two teams shake hands after a hard fought match.
--Match #5: The Crusher def. Ox Baker by pinfall.Crusher continues his feud with the Heenan Family with this battles with Ox Baker at the forefront. This one broke down early and Joe Powell had problems keeping order. Finally, Powell had enough and told both men if they wanted to break the rules then this would be a No DQ finish. Both were bloody at the end that saw Crusher throw a chair at Baker's face but Ox caught it. Crusher delivered a devastating CRUSHER BOLO to the chair that bounced into Ox's skull for the finish.
--Match #6: Mr X def. Blackjack Mulligan by pinfall.Blackjack Mulligan was chomping at the bit to get at Mr X. Mulligan dominated from the opening bell and nearly ripped the black mask off of Mr X. However, when Mr X righted his mask, he blasted Blackjack with a vicious headbutt and Mulligan dropped like a rock for the finish. Perhaps the mask was loaded but one thing is for sure, Mulligan will be looking for revenge. This was Blackjack's first loss in GCCW.
--Match #7: Best of 5 Series: The Destroyer def. Antonio Inoki by referee stoppage.Match #2 of this series started off where the first match left off. Inoki was the aggressor from the beginning as he slapped Destroyer twice across the face during introductions. Inoki easily kept the angered Destroyer off balance and nearly got an early win with a top rope kneedrop. The move bloodied Destroyer as his iconic white mask was now crimson in color. Inoki stalked the hurt Destroyer but smacked his knee against the turnbuckles after missing a turnbuckle charge. Destroyer started taking over and wore Inoki down with his intelligent sleeperhold and sensational suplex moves. Finally, Destroyer locked Inoki in the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK and Jack Arnold called for the bell when Inoki was no longer responsive. Destroyer goes up 2-0 in the series and looks to close it out next week. --Match #8: GCCW tag titles: Tony Atlas/Koko B. Ware def. Mr Fuji/Mr Saito by DISQUALIFICATION.The problems that Tony Atlas and Koko B. Ware are having is no secret as the issues have played out in public. Meanwhile, Mr Fuji/Mr Saito have run roughshod over the tag team division since the beginning of the new year. However, somehow Atlas/Ware seemed to be on the same page throughout the match and had the champions on their heels throughout. When Koko planted Mr Saito with the GHOSTBUSTER Mr Fuji drilled Koko with one of the tag belts for the finish. Tony Atlas/Koko B. Ware will get another shot at the champions on May 8th.
--Match #9: Main Event: Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens def. Johnny Valentine/Dan Spivey by pinfall. These two teams may share rule-breaking tendencies and may get more boos from the crowd than cheers but they do not like each other at all. That hatred found its way into the match as it started slow and finished at a fever pitch. Valentine wanted Bockwinkel to start the match as the Heenan Family duo stalled. Valentine started with Stevens and we were away. Bobby Heenan was instrumental in keeping his duo in the match. Heenan saved both Bock and Stevens from sure defeat after Spivey dropped both with the POWERBOMB. Valentine and Bockwinkel got together at the end with Johnny getting the upperhand. However, Heenan tripped Johnny coming off the ropes and Bockwinkel pinned Valentine as Heenan held Johnny's legs underneath the ropes. Afterwards, Spivey came to the aid of his partner as he bashed both Bock and Stevens with a steel chair. However, Heenan ran for his life but escaped without injury. **Next week we head back to the state of Mississippi for the first time since March 6th when we roll into Biloxi and the Coast Coliseum. On top, is the Cage Match between the Vachons and 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell. This will be the first appearance of Scorpio/MAB since being injured by the Vachons. 2CS/MAB will definitely be the underdogs going in but they have shown resilience during their matches with the Vachons. Can they win the Cage Match and the feud? **The Best of 5 Series between Antonio Inoki and the Destroyer could wrap up in Biloxi as Destroyer has a 2-0 lead in the series. Inoki hasn't been himself since the end of his Power-10 Series and now has to win 3 straight matches to win the series and earn a guaranteed GCCW title shot. **The title match on tap for April 24th sees Rick Rude defend the GCCW United States title against George 'The Animal' Steele. Both Rude and George carry identical 7-0 records into the match. Chris Candid and Tammy Lynn Sytch will be in Rude's corner and will give Rick a significant advantage. Can George overcome the odds and win the title? **After tonight's main event, the Heenan Family will see singles action next week as Nick Bockwinkel locks horns with Johnny Valentine and Ray Stevens faces Dan Spivey. This is a dangerous match for Bock as he has his GCCW title rematch against champion, Terry Gordy on May 1st.
....All This & More....See You Next Week In Biloxi....

Inoki had some good moments with the Power 10 series but wonder what he will do with his back to the wall? ... creative way to keep him in the picture. Bockwinkel is one of the hall of fame cards for me as his matches always have drama, like the match with Gordy. Can only imagine a big tag match with Doc and Gordy versus a combo of Bockwinkel with Stevens, Zbyszko or Saito. Had matches in my fed with Bockwinkel and Race with Doc and Gordy and what rivals these four were! By the way that Mr. X is a true "Savage" wonder where you "mined" that masked man from? ?

GCCW #28 Coast Coliseum; Biloxi, MS; 24 Apr 2015 ....Huge card in Biloxi tonight with the Steel Cage match between The Vachons and 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell on top. Also, on the card is a US title defense for Rick Rude, Nick Bockwinkel vs Johnny Valentine, and much more. Let's got to the ring.... --Match #1: Bobby Shane def. Brad Armstrong by referee stoppage. The 'King of Wrestling' made his debut last week in Pensacola and continued his run against the younger Armstrong. Shane stalled at the beginning of the match and the frustrated Armstrong made a mistake, finding himself locked in Shane's JAPANESE SLEEPER. Brad blacked out and Tommy Hatcher called for the bell. Once again, Shane refused to wake Brad up until Bob Armstrong hit the ring and forced Shane's hand. --Match #2: Dan Spivey def. Ray Stevens by pinfall. This is the off-shoot of the growing Bockwinkel/Valentine feud. Dan Spivey has become a major force in the territory. Even with Bobby Heenan at ringside, Ray Stevens was over-matched. Heenan kept Stevens in the match on several occasions but in the end a Spivey POWERBOMB spelled the end for 'The Crippler.' After losing 4 of his first 5 singles matches, Spivey has won 4 straight. --Match #3: Steve Williams/Terry Gordy def. The Love Brothers by pinfall.Steve Williams has been absent from the territory for some time now after failing to win the GCCW title. Tonight, he reformed the Miracle Violence Authority with his old partner and current GCCW champion, Terry Gordy. MVC take right to Hartford/Reginald Love right from the opening bell with Dr Death doing most of the damage. Gordy seemed content to let his tag partner take out his frustrations on the Love Brothers before getting into the match and delivering a crushing PILEDRIVER on Reginald. Doc tags back in and finishes the match with the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE on Reginald. Surprisingly, this is the first win for Williams/Gordy in the territory. --Match #4: Mr X def. Blackjack Mulligan by pinfall. It seems as if Mr X has Mulligan's number as this is Mr X's 2nd straight win over Mulligan who had started 5-0 in singles competition. Mulligan was on a tear throughout the match but a timely distraction from Sir Oliver Humperdink set up the finish. Humperdink tossed Mr X something that X placed over his thumb. With Humperdink distracting Joe Powell, Mr X jabbed his thumb into Mulligan's throat. Mulligan went down clutching at his throat as Mr X made the cover. Afterwards, Mulligan had to be taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a bruised trachea and will be out for about 4 weeks. --Match #5: GCCW US title: Rick Rude def. George 'The Animal' Steele by pinfall.George 'The Animal' Steele and Rick Rude are the only two grapplers with an undefeated record with more than 5 singles matches. George comes into this match, as his FLYING HAMMERLOCK finisher has become a feared move in the territory, with mixed emotions as it it's obvious he has fallen for the charms of Tammy Lynn Sytch. George starts the match out quickly and soon has Rude trapped in the FLYING HAMMERLOCK but Sytch jumps up in the apron and starts blowing kisses at George. George releases the hold and with a love-struck look on his face, walks right into a title belt shot from Chris Candido. From then on, Rick Rude dominates the match as George is not able to mount any offense. George crawls over to Sytch who smashes the downed Animal with her LOADED PURSE. Rude makes it academic with the RUDE AWAKENING to retain his title for the 4th time. Afterwards, the trio pounce on George before Hacksaw Jim Duggan charges the ring with his trusty 2X4. Duggan grabs the house mike and vows to make the dastardly trio pay for what they've done to George. --Match #6: Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers def. The Bushwackers by pinfall.Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers are still climbing that ladder for a GCCW tag title shot. The Bushwackers are looking to climb right back into the title picture with a win after losing to the champs about a month ago. Rich/Smothers looked great in this match and controlled Butch/Luke throughout. Rich/Smothers didn't seem to be in any danger of losing the match and Smothers dropped Luke with the JAWJACKER for the finish. --Match #7: Nick Bockwinkel def. Johnny Valentine by pinfall. This was a dangerous match for Nick to take with his GCCW title rematch next week and Johnny was looking to keep Nick from getting to that match. Valentine evened the odds early on when he went after Bobby Heenan and dropped him with a forearm hammer. Valentine went of the offensive and scored several nearfalls before Bockwinkel fought back. Bock weakened Valentine with repeated BOCKWINKEL SLEEPERs before Nick missed a turnbuckle charge. Valentine caught Bock with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER and then hit the move again for a long nearfall. Valentine climbed the ropes only to have Heenan push him off. Bock delivered a punishing Piledriver and held the Valentine's tights for the win. Bock and Heenan high-tailed it to the back before Valentine could regain his senses. --Match #8: Best of 5 Series: Antonio Inoki def. The Destroyer by submission.Antonio Inoki needed this match to stay in the Best of 5 Series and The Destroyer has beaten Inoki 3 times in a row dating back to Inoki's Power-10 Series Finale. Inoki has shown a darker side during his matches with the Destroyer and this one was no different. Inoki clawed and choked Destroyer only to break the holds right before Speedy Hatfield got to a 5-count. The constant clawing and choking had a huge impact on Destroyer as he wasn't able to mount any significant offense. In the end, Inoki locked in the OCTOPUS HOLD and Destroyer submitted before any real damage was done. The Destroyer still owns a 2-1 lead in the Series with the winner earning an automatic GCCW title shot in June. --Match #9: Cage Match: The Vachons def. 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell by pinfall.2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell were itching to get a measure of revenge on the Vachons and demanded Mad Dog/Butcher face them in a Cage Match. Rules were simple as pinfalls/submission were the only way to win the match and more importantly, Sir Oliver Humperdink was outside the cage. Scorpio/Bagwell were very aggressive during the opening minutes of the match and repeatedly threw Mad Dog and Butcher into the fence. The Vachons were bloody before the 5-minute mark of the match! However, as tough as Scorpio/MAB have been in this feud, the Vachons showed they were tough customers as well by battering their opponents as well. The finish came as Scoprio/MAB attempted a Slingshot Splash but Bagwell caught nothing but canvas. Mad Dog caught Scorpio with a crippling PILEDRIVER that took Scorpio out of the match. Bagwell survived for a few more minutes but when Butcher delivered his HANGMAN finisher as Humperdink slammed the cage door on Bagwell's head, that was all she wrote. The Vachons stand tall as Scorpio/MAB put up a great fight but go out of the arena on stretchers. **Next week, GCCW invades the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans, Louisiana. On top, Terry Gordy defends the GCCW title against Nick Bockwinkel. Gordy won the title when Heenan wasn't allowed at ringside but this time Heenan will be roaming the ringside area. Will Gordy be able to overcome this disadvantage? **With tonight's win, Antonio Inoki extended his Best of 5 Series with The Destroyer, however, Destroyer still holds a 2-1 advantage. Next week, they face off in Match #4 of the Series. Will Inoki even the Series or will Destroyer go on to claim that GCCW title shot? **George 'The Animal' Steele will attempt to get revenge on Rick Rude/Chris Candido for tonight's mugging as he teams with Hacksaw Jim Duggan next week against the dastardly duo. Also scheduled, Johnny Valentine/Dan Spivey continue their feud with the Heenan Family as they battle Ray Stevens/Ox Baker. **Sir Oliver Humperdink is already claiming victory over Blackjack Mulligan after Mr X injured Mulligan during tonight's match. Next week, the Crusher has stepped in to battle Mr X and Humperdink is not happy about it. Also, Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers continue their hunt for a GCCW tag title shot as they face the uber-popular Armstrongs. ....All This & Much More....See You Next Week In Nawleans....

GCCW #29 Municipal Auditorium; New Orleans, LA; 1 May 2015 ....We return to the Municipal Auditorium for the first time since January 23rd. Tonight's main event sees Nick Bockwinkel get his automatic rematch against Terry Gordy. Aslo, on the card, The Destroyer looks to wrap up his Best of 5 Series against Antonio Inoki with a win as a GCCW title shot is in the balance. Let's go to the ring....--Match #1: Mr Fuji def. Koko B. Ware by disqualification. These two will be also be in action against each other next week as Mr Fuji/Mr Saito defend their GCCW tag titles against Koko B. Ware/Tony Atlas. This one though did not last long as a frustrated Koko B. Ware tossed Mr Fuji to the floor. When Fuji landed near the Frankie's perch, Koko grabbed a steel chair and bashed Fuji several times across the upper back and head. Fuji was busted open and Koko would later reveal to a backstage reporter that he intended to get DQ'd and hurt Fuji going into the GCCW tag title match next week. --Match #2: Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers def. The Armstrongs via pinfall.Speaking of the GCCW tag title picture, Tommy Rich/Tracy Smothers continue their climb to get a coveted shot for the titles. The Armstrongs continue their winless run but are still super over in the territory. Tommy Rich drops a Fistdrop onto Brad Armstrong for the finish. Rich/Smothers have yet to be pinned during their current run in GCCW with their only loss coming as a DQ loss. --Match #3: Bobby Shane def. Tommy Gilbert via referee stoppage. The 'King of Wrestling' Bobby Shane debuted at #10 in the April rankings and continues his run against Tommy Gilbert. Gilbert had no answer for Shane's antics. Gilbert gets frustrated with Shane's stalling tactics but makes a mistake and ends up in the JAPANESE SLEEPER for his troubles. However, this time, Bobby Shane "wakes" Tommy Gilbert up immediately after the match. --Match #4: Hacksaw Jim Duggan/George 'The Animal' Steele def. Chris Candido/Rick Rude by submission.Last week, Rick Rude def. George Steele in his GCCW US title defense after George was set-up by Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch. However, Hacksaw Jim Duggan saved George from a mugging and this match was made. Duggan handled both Rude and Candido early on as George chased Sytch at ringside. With Duggan at Rude and Candido's mercy, he made the hot tag to George who then dominated his opponents. George was the most focused this GCCW reporter has seen him since his arrival in the territory. George stalked Candido dropping head butts and running knees to Candido's upper arm and shoulder area. Finally, George locked in the FLYING HAMMERLOCK and Candido submitted immediately. With his impressive performance, George will get another shot at Rick Rude on May 15th. --Match #5: Steve Williams def. Tony Atlas by pinfall.Dr Death reappeared last week when he successfully teamed with Terry Gordy. it is no secret that Doc took some time off after a disatrous start to his run in GCCW and was looking to get his GCCW singles run back on track. Tony Atlas took this match to stay busy but has a big match next week with Koko B. Ware against Mr Fuji/Mr Saito. However, if Tony was thinking about this match it didn't show in his performance. Williams jumped out early and wore Atlas down before winning with the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. If Doc is able to maintain his momentum, he will be a dangerous adversary for any GCCW competitor. --Match #6: Mr X def. The Crusher via pinfall.Last week, Mr X injured his nemesis Blackjack Mulligan and out him on the shelf for 4 weeks. This week the Crusher steps in to battle Mr X and what a wild bout it was. With Sir Oliver Humperdink at ringside distracting referee, Jack Arnold, Mr X's blantant use of a foreign object bloodied Crusher early and often. Arnold caught X using the object but Crusher stopped Arnold from calling for the DQ. Crusher got the object and bloodied X in return. However, in the end, Humperdink proved to be the decisive edge allowing X to hit his dangerous Thumb to the Throat maneavuer. Mr X lifted Crusher for the RUNNING PILEDRIVER for the finish and another tainted victory for Humerdink's man. --Match #7: Johnny Valentine/Dan Spivey def. Ray Stevens/Ox Baker by pinfall. After last week's loss to Nick Bockwinkel, Johnny Valentine was eager to get any combination of the Heenan Family in the ring. Stevens/Baker controlled early with the help of Bobby Heenan, however, JJ Dillon came down the aisle dressed in a suit and smacked Heenan across the face. Valentine/Spivey dominated from this point on as Spivey dropped Baker with the POWERBOMB for the finish. Afterwards, JJ Dillon grabbed the house mike and said this was just the beginning of what will be the most dominant force in professional wrestling. Valentine/Spivey are the first 2 members of his unnamed faction but Dillon stated he was looking to add 2 more members. --Match #8: Best of 5 Series: The Destroyer def. Antonio Inoki by referee stoppage to win the Best of 5 Series.Antonio Inoki had to win the next two matches to take the Series but it was the Destroyer who came out as the aggressor. Inoki's growing frustration caused him to make uncharacteristic mistakes and after he missed a running knee, Destroyer locked in the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK in the middle of the ring. For his credit, Inoki did not submit but passed out from the pain and Speedy Hatfield called for the bell to end the match. The Destroyer will get an automatic shot at the GCCW title in the near future. --Match #9: Main Event: GCCW title: Nick Bockwinkel def. Terry Gordy by referee stoppage.Three weeks ago when Terry Gordy def. Nick Bockwinkel for the title, Bobby Heenan was not at ringside. Heenan was in the locker room when this match started still recovering from his tumble with JJ Dillon earlier in the evening. Still though, Bockwinkel came out and wrestled like someone who was determined to get his title back. Bock stayed away from Gordy's finishing moves and wore the champion down by choking Gordy on the ropes and several abdominal stretches. Though Gordy is an agile big man, Bock used his agility advantage to wear Gordy down. In the end, Bock locked in his 2nd BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER of the match and after Hatfield dropped Gordy's arm three times, Bock was the champion again.

GCCW was easy to get caught up on because the write ups are so damn good!
Gordy's reign was pretty uneventful and when Bockwinkel took the title back it just felt right. It also just goes to show how much managers can effect the outcome. Not just Heenan but Humperdink and Sytch have pretty damn good records as well. And now with JJ Dillon in the mix the heels are pretty much running the territory.
Speaking of JJ Dillon it appears we'll get the Four Horsemen or a stable similar. Valentine and Spivey are a couple of damn good recruits to get it rolling. And if Dillon's watching the product lately I'd hope Bobby Shane has caught his eye. He's making waves quick. The Heenan Family has been pretty formidable but it appears a power struggle for the top heel faction is on the horizon.
It feels like Inoki has cooled off following the Power 10. I loved how you booked him immediately afterwards with the Best of 5 with The Destroyer but he didn't have the showing we all expected. Meanwhile The Destroyer looked like a million bucks. Inoki should either head back home or turn his frustrations into something that can help him.
I've yet to use Mr. X but I was originally under the impression that he was a pretty low tier card. The way you're booking him, though, has me rethinking that. Unless I'm missing something entirely and Dr. X is actually a known guy under the hood. Either way, I'm entertained by him, Humperdink, and Mulligan.
George Steele continues to astonish me and you keep rolling with him. I'm really pulling for him to take the US title in the rematch. Duggan is a much needed ally against Sytch's stable too.
Koko went ballistic at the last show and was pretty unsportsmanlike. Not that Fuji probably didn't deserve it but it was just a little unexpected out of the Birdman.
I know the Armstrongs are territory favorites but brother, they need a win! Feed em a couple of enhancements. Perhaps Omega and his partner?
Gabe, I know it's been a couple months and I'm hoping you can get back into a groove in the near future. You've got a great fed here! Plus you've got a Summer Tag League about to jump off! This is an awesome read as always! Thanks for posting.

Spaceman, thanks for the comments. I will be posting GCCW shows again in the next few weeks and will pick up where I left off. It may be a smaller-ish roster but the style won't change much and all the major players will return.
Regarding, Mr X....it is a main eventer under the mask and not the enhancement talent that was released. And Nick Bockwinkel feels right as the fed champion. I've got plans for a dream match involving Bock at BSE in August. I don't think you'll be disappointed when he starts dropping challenges to this individual.
