Exciting action from the Omni and it was no surprise to see Jim Cornette insure that the Midnight Express retained the National tag titles against Brad & BG Armstrong. Ted Dibiase with a huge win over Blackjack Mulligan and with that he earns the title shot against Tommy Rich. I am really looking forward to that National title showdown. The Rock n' Roll Express vs. The Russians was chaotic especially with the post-match with the Russian Flag being laid over Morton & Gibson - HEAT! I expect the debuting Larry Zbyszko to cause some trouble in the weeks to come.

Thanks cruefan68 for the comments. You know that a R-n-R vs Koloffs 'Flag Match' is right around the corner but it could also involve a couple more names including someone who feuded with Nikita over a certain belt in the past. I have an angle planned for Zbyszko that will eventually bring Harley Race to the territory but that's further down the line.WWA presents LA #56.62 Grand Olympic Auditorium; Los Angeles ....The WWA rolls back into LA with a huge main event as The Currys face The Sheik/Sabu. Also on the card, Lou Thesz battles Pepper Gomez as Lou looks to keep up his momentum towards a title shot. Let's go to the ring....---In the opener, Killer Kowalski def. Ilio DiPaolo, winning with the CLAW HOLD. Kowalski dominated the match as DiPaolo got very little offense in during the bout. ---The Masked Killer Bees take down the bigger Bruiser Costa/Bill White, winning with BEE STING. The masked duo kept their bigger opponents off balance with their agility advantage before hitting their finisher for the win. --- Don Leo Jonathan returns to action, getting a win over Gorgeous George with the MORMON SWING. Cherie Dupree was not at ringside, leading to speculation that she had left the promotion. Could George be far behind? George seemed lost during the match without Dupree as Don Leo took advantage of George's confusion. --- The Crusher scored the win over Greg Valentine, winning with a Series of Powerful Forearms. Crusher softens up Valentine with several CRUSHER BOLOS before the finish. However, the big action was after the match as Killer Kowalski jumped Crusher from behind as he was getting his hand raised. Kowalski blasted Crusher with a steel chair before locking in the CLAW HOLD. Crusher went out in the hold as security had to pry Kowalski off the techno. --- Lou Thesz continued his run towards the Americas' Championship with an impressive win over Pepper Gomez. Gomez offered a handshake to start but was rebuked by Thesz, much to the chagrin of the crowd. Pepper had his moments but Thesz was simply too much to handle. Lou wins with the GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP in an entertaining match. ---Our huge Main Event was the brawl and hatred everyone expected as The Sheik/Sabu claimed a win over The Currys. Sheik and Wild Bull started the match and they just went at each other. The two brawled all over the ring and took the battle to the floor as this turned into a street fight. Somehow, the referee was able to restore a semblance of order as Sabu and Fred Curry were tagged in and we had an actual match. Fred hits his MACHINE GUN DROPKICKS finisher for a nearfall on Sabu. Sabu battled back and nearly ended the match with the TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT (+3). The match would end in controversial fashion as Abdullah Farouk distracted the referee as Fred was climbing the turnbuckles for a Top Rope Sunset Flip, Sheik lit the younger Curry up with the FIREBALL!! Fred fell to the mat, clutching his face as Sabu hit the TJM (+5) for the finish. Afterwards, security had to hold Bull back from charging after Sheik. An irate Bull grabbed the house mike and in between guttural screams, challenged Sheik to a No Holds Barred Street Fight. Quick ResultsKiller Kowalski def. Ilio DiPaolo w/ the CLAW HOLD Masked Killer Bees over Bruiser Costa/Bill White w/ the BEE STING Don Leo Jonathan def. Gorgeous George w/ the MORMON SWING The Crusher over Greg Valentine w/ a Series of Powerful Forearms Lou Thesz def. Pepper Gomez w/ the GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP Main Event: Sheik/Sabu over The Currys w/ Sabu's TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT on Fred Curry

I have a guess as to who might be coming to Georgia to take on Nikita Koloff and if it is who I am thinking of - awesome! Back in L.A. I loved the main event tag match with The Sheik & Sabu beating Bull & Fred Curry. That combo Fireball and TJM finish on Flying Fred was insane. Even more insane will be Bull Curry taking on The Sheik in a No Holds Barred Street Fight! I continue to enjoy this character change to subtle heel for Lou Thesz and he continues to roll through the competition on his way to an Americas title shot. Although credit Pepper Gomez for giving him a fight. The Crusher vs. Greg Valentine was great and the post-match attack by Killer Kowalski on Da' Crusher was classic Killer. This was just a great show all around and your booking of your fed continues to be a true highlight.

Really like what is to come.... a tremendous event as always and setting up a CRUSHER v. KILLER feud what a blood bath that is going to be and speaking about blood baths BULL vs. SHEIK in a no hold's barred street fight..this match better have a warning attached to it because it is not going to be for the weak of heart.
No one is going to stop Thesz on his way to the America's Championship, I repeat no one! Real good win for one of the most underrated tag teams in history in my humble opinion The Killer Bee's
As always my friend, top notch stuff!

Always enjoy the vicious antics of Sabu & The Sheik... Great heat building up between them and the Currys... Looking forward to that No Holds Barred contest, for sure...
Also pleased that Kowalski opened the show with a big win... And Thesz continues to impress... He's got his sights firmly locked on some gold...
Fun show!

Once again, thanks for the comments gentlemen. I do appreciate your feedback. I, too, am stoked for the Bull Curry/Sheik Street Fight and it looks like that match will take place on Card #62.74. The Curry/Sheik feud is one that I had envisioned ever since I started the WWA but had some other feuds to take care of first. I think the family dynamic involving the two teams also adds to the heat level of the feud.
Moving on to Lou Thesz....I agree with @ice that eventually Lou is going to win the Americas' title but he'll have to earn it. I like the subtle heel persona that has developed w/ Thesz. I think it adds an interesting element to the character dynamic....at least, in my mind it does . Thesz will have to get through Rocca to either win the title or become the #1 contender. Look for that match on Card #63.76. On it's on to Hotlanta!! WWA presents Atlanta #7.63 The Omni; Atlanta ....Tonight, the WWA rolls back into Atlanta for a huge main event as Tommy Rich defends his title against Ted Dibiase....Also, on the card, Tracy Smothers teams with Bob Armstrong against Masked Superstar and Terry Gordy....Plus, the debut of 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper....Let's get things started....---The debut of 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper starts things off as he decimates The Gladiator (Mr X card), winning with the SLEEPER in under 3-minutes. The crowd gave Piper a nice welcome as he was introduced. ---The team of Sam Houston/Mike Graham scored an upset win over The Gilberts (Eddie/Doug) after Sam levels Eddie with the BULLDOG. In what was suppose to be a showcase match for the Gilberts turned into a surprise loss. --- Mad Dog Vachon def. 2 Cold Scorpio after Butcher Vachon was able to distract the referee, allowing Mad Dog to level Scorpio with his chains. Mad Dog followed with the PILEDRIVER to seal the win. ....Before our next match, WWA officials announced that the Rock-n-Roll Express would be the next challengers for the Midnight Express. However, R-n-R were jumped by The Koloffs who isolated Ricky Morton after dumping Robert Gibson to the floor. The heels did a number on Morton before order was restored....---Our next match was the aftermath of the attack during the intermission. Nikita Koloff tore into Ricky Morton and never let up on his assault. Morton is a tough customer and tried to fight back but was rocked by Koloff's Russian Hammer maneuver. Koloff ended things with the RUSSIAN SICKLE as Morton was clutching at his throat afterwards. A swarm of security hit the ring to prevent Koloff from draping the Soviet flag over the downed Morton. --- Masked Superstar/Terry Gordy def. Tracy Smothers/Bob Armstrong after Superstar dropped Smothers with a 'loaded' headbutt followed by the SPINNING NECKBREAKER. Superstar and Smothers are booked for a Street Fight as the main event on the next ATL card. ---In our Main Event, Tommy Rich retained the National Championship over Ted Dibiase by DISQUALIFICATION. Dibiase had just landed his third LOADED GLOVE shot of the match but Blackjack Mulligan would drag him out of the ring during the pin attempt. Mulligan gets in the ring and blasts Rich with a Series of Right Hands giving Rich the DQ win. Mulligan grabbed the house mike and told Dibiase he would not win the title while he was still here. Mulligan called for a Triple Threat Elimination match to once and for all decide the true champion. Quick ResultsRoddy Piper def. The Gladiator w/ the SLEEPER Sam Houston/Mike Graham def. The Gilberts w/ Houston's BULLDOG on Eddie Mad Dog Vachon over 2 Cold Scoprio w/ the PILEDRIVER Nikita Koloff over Ricky Morton w/ the RUSSIAN SICKLE Masked Superstar/Terry Gordy def. Tracy Smothers/Bob Arsmtrong w/ Superstar's SPINNING NECKBREAKER on Smothers Main Event: National Championship: Tommy Rich (c) retains over Ted Dibiase by DQ

Roddy Piper in Atlanta just feels so right but very interesting to see him coming in on the face side. It is hard to trust RP, though, so you never know what he will be up to. Good to see Tommy Rich retain the National title in the main event even if it had to be via a DQ interference. Ted Dibiase and Blackjack Mulligan are both serious threats to that title. Some great action underneath as well and I especially like that pairing of Masked Superstar & Terry Gordy.

WWA presents LA #57.64 Grand Olympic Auditorum; Los Angeles ....Tonight's main event sees Antonio Rocca defend the Americas' Championship against Jim Londos in a rematch from LA #54....Also, on the card, two tag team grudge matches as Red Bastien/Billy Red Lyons square off against The Hennigs & The Fantastics battle The Sheepherders....Let's go to the ring....--- Playboy Buddy Rose is in town as he def. Scott Casey in the opener as he hits the BOMBS AWAY for the win. Rose was announced as weighing a slim and trim 217 lbs which brought a roar of laughter from the crowd. Afterwards, Sweet Brown Sugar was out to congratulate Rose. --- Ox Baker reminds Jim Londos that he is waiting for him as Baker destroys Ron Hutchison w/ the HEART PUNCH. --- The Fantastics def. The Sheepherders by DISQUALIFICATION after they bash Rogers/Fulton with a flag pole they brought to ringside. Miller/Williams were not interested in wrestling their opponents as they repeatedly took the match to the floor. The Fantastics were able to hit Miller w/ the ROCKET LAUNCHER but Williams caused the DQ. --- Johnny Valentine def. Ilio DiPaolo w/ the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Valentine is getting a title shot on #60.70 and treated this as a tune-up. Valentine dominated but took his time in winning the match. --- The Hennigs scored a very controversial win over Red Bastien/Billy Red Lyons as Curt Hennig smacked Bastien w/ a pair of brass knux as he rebounded off the ropes. Larry followed w/ THE AXE for the tainted win. Afterwards, Lyons chased the gloating Hennigs out of the ring w/ a chair. Look for this feud to stay red hot following this turn of events. ---In the Main Event, Antonio Rocca retained the Americas' Championship over Jim Londos, winning w/ a Series of Flying Dropkicks. Rocca survived an onslaught of punishment throughout the match as Londos concentrated on Rocca's back area w/ several BOSTON CRABS. Late in the match, Antonio tried lifting Londos up for the ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER but crumpled to the mat. Londos went up top but met a huge Flying Dropkick from Rocca on the way down. Rocca followed several Flying Dropkicks w/ the third keeping Londos down for the 3-count.

More great action from the Olympic! The main event Americas title match between Antonino Rocca and Jim Londos was a classic. It looks like it took everything Rocca had to overcame a great challenge from Londos. Johnny Valentine looked strong in his win over Ilio DiPaolo and I can't wait to see him challenge Rocca for the title. The feud between Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons vs. The Hennigs is really picking up steam. The Fantastics vs. The Sheepherders - awesome! I remember this feud well and good to see it revving back up in the WWA. Playboy Buddy Rose, at a slim and trim 217-pounds, is impressive in his win over Scott Casey. Curious to see what Sweet Brown Sugar has in mind. Ox Baker and the Heart Punch victory, I always enjoy that.

WWA presents ATL #8.65 The Omni; Atlanta ....Our huge main event features Tracy Smothers vs Masked Superstar in an Atlanta Street Fight....The undercard is topped by a tag match between Tony Atlas/Bob Roop vs 'Dangerous' Dan Spivey/The Warlord....Let's go to ringside....--- Larry Zbyszko destroys Chief Joe Omega in the opener. Zbyszko hit his PILEDRIVER finisher but pulls Omega up at the count of two. Larry drops the Chief twice more with the PILEDRIVER before pinning his opponent. As Chief Joe was stretchered out, Larry exclaimed that he was the 'King of the Piledriver'. This brought Mad Dog Vachon out who said Zbyszko would have to prove that moniker because Mad Dog is the true 'King of Da Piledrivah'. --- Steve Williams def. Bruiser Costa w/ the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. The Miracle Violence Authority face One Man Gang/King Kong Bundy in a huge tag match on the next show with the winner getting a shot at the tag titles. ---In 6-man tag action the adhoc team of Terry Gordy/The Gilberts (Tommy/Eddie/Doug) def. Sam Houston/Mike Graham/Bob & Brad Armstrong after Gordy dropped Graham w/ the POWERBOMB. Afterwards, a huge brawl broke out as One Man Gang/King Kong Bundy blindsided Gordy, ramming into the ringpost. This brought Steve Williams to ringside to save his partner. --- Ivan Koloff def. BG James after Nikita Koloff leveled James w/ the RUSSIAN SICKLE on the arena floor. Back in the ring, James was easy pickings for Koloff's Top Rope Kneedrop. However, the real action came afterwards!! Ivan waved to the back and down came Boris Zhukov. The Russian trio out the boots to James but were stopped as the Rock-n-Roll Express hit the ring. A huge brawl erupted that saw the Russians get the better of the faces. The crowd exploded as Magnum TA hit the ring and cleared the heels. Nikita and Magnum went toe-to-toe as Nikita whipped Magnum into the ropes. Magnum ducked the RUSSIAN SICKLE and dropped Nikita w/ the BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX as the crowd came unglued!! The faces stood tall as Ivan/Boris had to restrain an irate Nikita from charging the ring again. --- 'Dangerous' Dan Spivey/The Warlord def. Tony Atlas/Bob Roop as Spivey nearly drove Atlas through the canvas w/ the POWERBOMB. Atlas fought the last part of the match by himself after Warlord drove Roop through the barricade with a Running Power Slam. ---Our Main Event saw Tracy Smothers def. Masked Superstar in an Atlanta Street Fight. The majority of the match was fought on the floor and up the rampway. Superstar hit several 'loaded' Head Butts that busted Smothers open. Just when it looked like Superstar was going to end the match, Smothers caught Superstar with a Jumping Wheel Kick as Superstar attempted a double axe handle from the ring apron. Smothers followed w/ the JAWJACKER in the ring to get the win! Quick ResultsLarry Zbyszko def. Chief Joe Omega Steve Williams over Bruiser Costa Terry Gordy/The Gilberts def. Sam Houston/Mike Graham/Bob & Brad Armstrong Ivan Koloff over BG James Dan Spivey/The Warlord def. Tony Atlas/Bob Roop Main Event: Atlanta Street Fight: Tracy Smothers over Masked Superstar
