While I disagree with the general idea of RVD being as strong as he is, I understand why he is that way. My comment about his destroying the ECW wrestlers was just an observation.
Just curious though; is the SE card going to be a weaker version, in the same way that Kowalski's card was weaker?

That is a good question Shon.

Actually, wrestling wasn't "real" back in the 1920s. If it was, any guy that got a step over toe hold would've broken the other guy's ankle. The only LOW guys who had real matches were probably Gotch and Hackenschmidt. And the 6 doesn't come up as often. I've played this game since 1988 and while it has the same "chance" to come up, it doesn't. The RVD SE won't be a downgraded version, that wouldn't make sense. Plus, RVD should be better than all those ECW guys because none of them went on to be huge WWE stars and WWE Champion. Wrestling isn't "real" and never really has been so how good a "shooter" a guy was shouldn't come into play. You also can't say that if RVD fought some guy from the 20s that he'd get killed. You don't know that. RVD has some martial arts skill so how do you know he wouldn't land a big jump kick to the skull because Pesek would've never seen anything like that before so that point is moot. Again, I'm not saying every guy from now should be better but you have to take that into account at least a little bit. That's all. I don't mean this negatively so don't freak out. Just stating my opinion. just because I have a differing opinion doesn't mean I'm trying to "troll." Discussion boards are for discussing/debating. Be cool everyone.

My own thoughts on RVD are simply because I'm not a huge fan of his. That doesn't mean I don't think his stats shouldn't be what they are (I haven't even seen his card yet); I will probably just use guys like Pesak and Danielson more because I like them more.
By the way, between RVD's stats and Danielson being in LOW and not LOTF, should LO be declared the Most controversial set in LOW history, in the same way that Legends International was the most delayed?

I would agree Shon. LO is by far the most controversial LOW set and probably the most controversial FG set ever sold.

I guess some have never heard of catch-as-catch can style. Wrestling didn't become what is was until after the second World War. So a shoot style was still employed before then. In fact I remember reading an interview with Killer Kowalski who said that the business changed to more of the booked and kayfabe style because athletes were getting seriously hurt in the shoot style before it. They were able to make more money putting on a show with guys not getting seriously hurt or put out.
Hell there are still companies out there like Bushido: Way of the Warrior which still use the real, scientific tough wrestling like that coming out of America back in the days when Lou Thesz, Verne Gagne, Karl Gotch, Ad Santel, George Hackenschmidt and others dominated pro-wrestling.
So to say that it was never legit or "real" is to not know your wrestling history. I mean there is more to the roots and origins of professional wrestling than what Pappa Vince force feeds ignorant fans today. Some even would argue that MMA is the next stage in the cycle of pro wrestling changing back and forth, between a legitimate sport and an athletic form of entertainment.
Interesting to see it come full circle. So that being said you put RVD into the ring with a MMA guy and let see who wins
