I just got done reading the handbook and I honestly have to say I think this is going to be one of the best sets ever released. I play LOW mainly and go back to New Beginnings once in a blue moon but this set might be just what I needed to renew my interest in COTG and stick with it. I've even considered scrapping my old new beginnings fed that's still in 2119 and starting over from scratch in 2123. The way this set is written it makes it easy to do something like that. Good job by Tom and all involved you really outdid yourselves thanks guys

I think I've seen the Main Event concept before and he was called Pegasus and Paragon. Only this time he's black. Pretty much the same character type, and even the fur coat. Of course, THIS could be Epoch's threatened disguise comeback, but that would be an even bigger stretch than imagining him being Iron Hand. Are you looking at the full color version of the pdf file? Or the B&W printable? Because I don't think he's black. The Main Event has blonde hair and is deeply tanned. Yeah, in the greyscale version he looks black with black hair. The difference is really astounding and I can't believe it translated so differently from color to b/w. I stand corrected. He is now even more reminiscent of Pegasus or Paragon.

I bought the edition earlier today and spent the past couple of house printing and reading the handbook. This is a great story. The idea of the double agents on every team interests me. I have a real unique theory about who each spy is and how it relates to a bigger theme. Of course, it's possible that it's all just a lie to get the teams to distrust each other. But if not, there's a couple of real cool scenarios I imagine. Here's a real interesting idea: what if Iron Hand is just a robot being manipulated by the REAL person with the power, Mother Superior? Or could he be Epoch in disguise (I think that whole Epoch thing may just be a red herring, though). It be another return by Thantos, who takes his place at the top with his son Encubus and bride Mother Superior after finally destroying the Omega clan's legacy once and for all by crushing Bloodline? Could he be Vengeance's brain in a robot body? Or maybe it really is someone new (The Assassin KING?). I think I've seen the Main Event concept before and he was called Pegasus and Paragon. Pretty much the same character type, and even the fur coat. Of course, THIS could be Epoch's threatened disguise comeback, but that would be an even bigger stretch than imagining him being Iron Hand. Anyway, there's a lot of deception, distrust, and subterfuge going on this year! I can hardly wait to get the cards now! I don't think that the Main Event is any thing related to Iron Hand. I don't think Epoch is either, although I think that Epoch's return is soon. What I do think is that Monolith may have joined Martial Law as a spy for Dark Menace.

I agree. Like I wrote, I think the Epoch scene was a red herring to throw everyone off the trail of the real story. Main Event just seems to have shown up so out of the blue that there has to be more there than initially meets the eye.
Interesting idea that Monolith could be a mole in the Martial Law camp, but it has always been made clear that Monolith's only real allegiance is to himself. Iron Hand is the man with the power right now, he offered a deal too good to pass up (a clear path to the belt and a sure-fire way to make sure he keeps it), and Monolith jumped. That's my take on it, anyway.
There are so many unsavory, untrustworthy elements in the GWF right now that anything could be possible and no one is above suspicion. Anything really could be possible at this point. In past years it's been fairly predictable as to where stories are going, but right now it seems wide open.

I agree about Monilith. If anything, it makes Dark Menace come off a bit incompetent. His best wrestler...arguably the best wrestler in COTG...is unhappy because of their allegiance with Outlaw Nation and he just blows it off. So Monolith splits and DM is seen beggging and hoping for his return. He should've dumped Drury then gone out and signed Main Event as back-up. He's like the Matt Millen of wrestling. But here's what intrigues me about that storyline: Eventually Menace will snap out of it. And he was part of the group that helped create Monolith. He knows his origin. He knows his strength. So he must know his weaknesses. It wouldn't suprise me if the next time Menace brings in a new member, it's someone genetically "designed" to go afte Monolith.

OMG...i just read the funniest stuff ever to come out of Fed HQ... Rotunda & Scimitar's discussion...HILLARIOUS! Words i never thought i would see associated with Plethador..."his multimillion-dollar home" and "Plethador cuddly bear"...obviously his stardom has go to his head! Great stuff! I laughed so hard i had to post this even though i am not done ready the handbook! This is one of my favorites from the handbook. I actually laughed out loud. Sly Drury: Ah, here we are. Valour: I’m not going in there. It’s disgusting. Sly Drury: You’re safer in there than standing outside at night. The Betrayer: Maybe Valour wants to walk the streets at night and get picked up. Valour: Shut the hell up! American Guy: If you’d ignore him he’s shut up. The Betrayer: No I wouldn’t.

The way Tom has written The Betrayer from a psychopath going after Tristan to his current "never know what he'll do or say psycho" is great...i love reading The Betrayer and love how he causes so much strife within his own team! Great!

You know, I've never been much of a Swarm fan, but here's an example of how a wrestler's drawing (and a few card tweaks) has me super-jacked to re-insert him into my GWF.
Swarm, along with Tristan, Anivar, and (still very oddly) Endgame NEVER delivered the goods for me; so they sit in mediocrity until or unless they can do more than produce lusy matches with a disproportionate amount of losses.
From what I read and see in the 2123 handbook, Swarm might be breaking out of that fraternity real soon. His art is cool; it's the most eye-popping image in the color version of the handbook. The Sting/CM Punk influenced finishers are awesome. He and Main Event are more interesting/appealing to me than any other 2123 card right now (don't get me wrong; that's not to say Iron Hand, Sleeper Cell, the new Tauran and others aren't impressive).

From start to finish, absolutely incredible.
The only thing I have a problem with is the GWF, Tag Team and Women's title being handed to the members of Martial Law, while all other titles are vacated. It kinda throws off my title history a little bit, especially since Monolith and Divided We Fall already won the titles at my last 2122 supercard. So I'm considering an alternate version of the story: The title holders remain the same, but Monolith, DWF and Mother Superior automatically get the first shots of 2123 at those titles.
