The storyline for 2123 works amazingly well for my fed. Kill Prey is currently the heavyweight champion so Iron Hand stripping him of the title could certainly compel him to 'retire' only to come back a month or so later with Valor. Amazingly the feud I'm looking forward the most to is Swarm vs Tricks. I love both of their upgrades. Very exciting times! It fits well with mine as well, as having Iron Hand step in and award his team the titles strips it from the head villain Sly Drury and taking the women's title from She Devil and awarding it to Mother Superior will set up a great feud. DWF were already the tag champions so they just continue on as the champions with new belts.

I'm not big on Titles being stripped...only on a rare occasion does it need to be done (long term injury/retirement).
But after reading the handbook...it works.
For 2123, what this does is instantly shake things up, start new feuds in some cases. while also adding a new dynamic to other, already established feuds...and when being done by a heel like figure in Iron Hand, can really build some serious heat for a fed. I also think the emphasis on the belts and how 'valuable' they are is a BIG plus. Very nice work by Tom here.
All in all...some bold moves have been made...Iron Hand and Monolith in particular...but Iron Hand is a pretty bold character......I like it.
I also like where Swarm's storyline (and new art) is taking him. I'll reserve final judgement until I see the cards and give the handbook another read...but while I wasn't blown away by anything in particular (except the Swarm art...really nice IMO) I think its a solid set, and a bold new direction for the GWF.

I just got done reading the handbook and I honestly have to say I think this is going to be one of the best sets ever released. I play LOW mainly and go back to New Beginnings once in a blue moon but this set might be just what I needed to renew my interest in COTG and stick with it. I've even considered scrapping my old new beginnings fed that's still in 2119 and starting over from scratch in 2123. The way this set is written it makes it easy to do something like that. Good job by Tom and all involved you really outdid yourselves thanks guys This set really does sound almost like a new New Beginning. I mean, the whole landscape of the federation just changed. Actually, with an overpowering authority figure and title belts being pre-placed on people, this set might be even EASIER to pick up with than the New Beginning Set!

Cant wait to get my set and read the booklet. I order already but waiting for it to arrive. So far the set sounds great. Ive got to tie up loose ends on 2122 this week and hope that 2123 is here next week at the latest. Cant wait for the Swarm update. Could be just in time for him to get the title back from Monolith... if he loses it this weekend in my last card of 2122. Epoch's return will be awesome and I actually hope he will be the "next big thing" in the GWF. Ive always hoped he would have better stats than he did especially since he was the one who ran the monkey out of the GWF.
KEEP THOSE DICE ROLLIN!

Swarm's card is pretty sick. I'm still not convinced he is an Animan though, and not just a guy in a mask that can control insects.

In my fed, Swarm was never fully accepted as an Animan because Puma and Wolf each raised questions about whether he was a true animan or a masked man. This was going to be a big mystery leading to a couple of feuds, but as I mentioned earlier, Swarm couldn't add any steak to the sizzle (if I may borrow a good ole J.R. analogy).
Because I'm so confident about this new card/set, I'm going to try it again.
Man, I'm going to a concert this week, I'm getting NCAA Football 2009 tonite, and I've already booked three showings of BATMAN: THE DARKNIGHT. If this game edition shows up this week, I may need to be pumped with depressants to keep from exploding with excitement.

I'm really liking the comic book feel that has come with this set. In my mind there's a clear Batman/Joker correlation with Swarm and Tricks(Swarm may even have a 'Robin' coming into things in the near future!) I think that's going to be my favorite feud of the new year. I'm very excited for 2123.

Plethador is way too good to be Robin. Hottest merchandiser in the GWF.

Hmmm...I wonder if Iron Hand is any relation to the Skrulls.
