I think if Tensai cut loose and started working like he did in Japan, then the whole match stoppage thing would make more sense. Alas, so far he's just been "methodical". Actually, I think that after the stoppage he should just dance like an uncoordinated moron and perhaps try to whip off his pull away pants and fail miserably. Everyone would love him.

Something I'm sure the WWE braintrust has forgotten, but Jericho speaks Japanese. Just thorwing it out there...

Forgive me if someone else has mentioned this, but to me, the stoppage/win should be after the senton he does. That is the move that is getting a reaction, and then he could Baldo Bomb them despite the ref yelling at him.

What did everyone think of his re-debut? I personally liked it. It was just a squash match but I liked that they acknowledged that he had been in WWE before, went to Japan and "dominated" his competition in Japan. It is certainly a good debut to build him up as a monster. The crowd seemed into it as well. The Lord Tensai gimmick would have been great in an earlier era. He's a legit big man, good presence and looks credible. Back in the 70s or 80s, a few months of squash matches leading up to a run with Hogan, Backlund, Bruno, etc would have worked. I could imagine him as a special attraction/traveling mercenary type like Abdullah, Kamala or Kabuki, working with the Von Erichs in World Class, hitting up Lawler in Memphis, and a few programs for Bill Watts in Mid South. Keep him protected, fresh and new, then ship him somewhere else when it gets stale. Today, its a much harder sell and tougher for a 'big man' to make a living. That's probably why he turned to Japan in the first place.

I think this build can still work but it has to build to something more than just getting beaten by Cena (or whoever). At some point the refs are going to have to stop stopping his matches early because he is going to have more competitive matches against bigger/better wrestlers. Now do they just build him to a loss to a heavyweight champ and then drop him or do they give us something more interesting afterwards.

Why has he become basically a jobber lately. Things seemed to change after he lost his LORD gimmick. Went from major push as monster to losing week in and week out.

My assumption is that they don't really know what to do with him and they are pushing Ryback as the WWE monster right now.
