The highlight of tonight is the beginning of two weeks of qualifying matches to determine who will wrestle in the one-night tournament at the LWF Legends Of The Fall: Survival! PPV in Boston on November 23. Eight men will advance; LWF National Champion Dan Severn is automatically given top seed in the tournament, so he will not need to qualify. Seedings will be determined after next week’s qualifying matches. The winner of the tournament will challenge for the LWF World Heavyweight Title at night’s end, meaning the tournament winner will wrestle as many as four times in the same night.
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER LWF World Cruiserweight Champion FRANK GOTCH (low) (w/ LWF National Heavyweight Champion Dan “The Beast” Severn) (low) beat BRET “HITMAN” HART (low-b) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) by disqualification when Johnny Powers ran out and decked Gotch, disqualifying Hart so he couldn‘t advance; Gotch advanced to the tournament (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan)
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Tag Team Champions EAST-WEST CONNECTION (Adrian Adonis & Jesse “The Body” Ventura) (low-b) (w/ Bobby “The Brain“ Heenan) (low) beat “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-b) when Adonis beat Scott with the Goodnight Irene finisher (Referee: James Beard)
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER “HANDS OF STONE” RONNIE GARVIN (low-b) beat BRUNO SAMMARTINO (low-b) with the Hands Of Stone finisher to advance to the tournament (Referee: Gilberto Roman)
NON-TITLE MATCH JOHNNY POWERS (low-b) beat LWF National Champion DAN “The BEAST” SEVERN (low) (w/ LWF World Cruiserweight Champion Frank Gotch) (low) by disqualification when Bret Hart attacked Powers (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)
After the break, Powers, in the back with Gene Okerlund, said, “I’ve got a (World Title) qualifying match next week in England, but the next week, Bret Hart, we need to settle this, and we need to settle this the same way it started … with Singapore Canes!” (This was a reference to the Singapore Cane tag team match Powers and Hart were in together against Goliath & Black Gordman at the last Pay-Per-View, in which Hart turned on Powers and whacked him with his cane and left the ring.)
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER “TOTAL PACKAGE” LEX LUGER (low-b) beat TERRY FUNK (low-b) with the Human Torture Rack finisher to advance to the tournament (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
“INTELLIGENT SENSATIONAL” DESTROYER (low) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) with the Figure Four Leglock finisher (Referee: Tommy Young) --During the match, the “Grand Wizard of Wrestling,” Abdullah Farouk, with a bandage across his nose from being hit with a chair thrown by Sabu last week, appeared on the LegendsVision screen, telling Sabu he should “expect the unexpected.” As Sabu was distracted, Destroyer chop-blocked him, worked his leg over and put him in the leglock, forcing a tapout.
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER DORY FUNK JR. (low-b) beat RIKIDOZAN (low) with the Spinning Toe Hold finisher to advance to the tournament (Referee: David Manning)
LWF WORLD CLASS MAIN EVENT “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat BOB BACKLUND (low-b) with two Discus Punch finishers (Referee: Earl Hebner) --Once again, Kerry’s uncle, Waldo Von Erich, appeared underneath the LegendsVision screen and watched. Kerry hit one Discus Punch and went to cover Backlund, but, instead, he looked over to Waldo, yelled, “You want some more? Watch this!” Kerry then picked Backlund up to his feet, steadied him, and hit him with a second Discus Punch and made the cover. Backlund was out cold. A smile crept across Waldo’s face as he turned to leave and Kerry celebrated in the ring, with some fans looking confused.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, Tuesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central on LWF Prime Time Wrestling on ABC Family.

As the ‘Birds were being ushered away by LWF officials, Hayes was heard to say, “It’s like we said last week, we’re gonna do things OUR way!” Gibson and Morton struggled to get back to their feet, even with help.
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (hours 1 & 3), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (hour 2), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
The qualifying matches continue tonight to determine who will be in the one-night tournament to face the World Champion on Sunday, November 23 at the LWF Legends Of The Fall: Survival! PPV in Boston. Already in the tournament are National Champion Dan Severn, who received the automatic Number One seed, Dory Funk Jr., Ronnie Garvin, World Cruiserweight Champion Frank Gotch and Lex Luger.
SINGAPORE CANE MATCH BRET “HITMAN” HART (low-b) (w/ “Sir“ Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with a Side Russian Leg Sweep using the cane (Referee: Dick Woherle) --Originally scheduled with no stipulations, Hart brought two canes to the ring and challenged South to a Singapore Cane Match to “show Johnny Powers what he’s in for next week.” South was impressive early on with his cane, but Hart came back and wore South out with his cane before hitting the leg sweep for the win. For good measure, Hart put South in the Sharpshooter and had him tapping out while Humperdink kept Referee Woherle at bay until Powers ran out, and Hart let go and slid out of the ring.
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) beat “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) by disqualification to advance to the tournament (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --During the match, Kerry’s uncle, Waldo Von Erich, came to ringside. When Kerry had Sabu down but was slow to make the cover, Waldo smacked Kerry across his leg with his riding crop. Kerry snatched the crop away and started arguing with his uncle. Sabu got up and touched Kerry on the shoulder, and Kerry wheeled around and whacked Sabu on the side of the face with the crop. Referee Lubich called for the bell, enabling Sabu to advance to the World Title tournament. Kerry jumped out of the ring and started arguing with Waldo, and the two jawed all the way to the back while Lubich tried to keep the two men separated. Meanwhile, Sabu staggered back to his feet in the ring. Suddenly, the lights went out, and, seconds later, they came back on, with Sabu looking around and pointing toward the ceiling. The “Grand Wizard Of Wrestling,” Abdullah Farouk, appeared on the LegendsVision screen, just like last week, and, once again, told Sabu to “expect the unexpected.”
“TOTAL PACKAGE” LEX LUGER (low-b) beat DORY FUNK JR. (low-b) with a Running Clothesline (Referee: Earl Hebner)
TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat TULLY BLANCHARD (low-b) with Head Butts (Referee: David Manning)
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER “INTELLIGENT SENSATIONAL” DESTROYER (low) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat “GOLDEN GREEK” JIM LONDOS (low) with the Figure Four Leglock finisher to advance to the tournament (Referee: Mark Curtis)
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion DAN “The BEAST” SEVERN (low) (w/ LWF World Cruiserweight Champion Frank Gotch) (low) beat BRUNO SAMMARTINO (low-b) with the Wakigatame finisher (Referee: Gilberto Roman)
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat JOHNNY POWERS (low-b) with the Crossface Chicken Wing finisher to advance to the tournament (Referee: Tommy Young) --After the match, Bret Hart came out with his Singapore cane. Backlund quickly jumped out of the ring, and Hart started to lay bamboo into Powers. Backlund cringed with each cane shot. Powers, though, managed to wrap his arm around the cane and yank it away from Hart, and, even with a hurt shoulder, he started swinging away at both the “Hitman” and Humperdink, who took off running as Powers challenged them to get back in the ring. Hart smugly told Powers from the aisle, “Just wait ‘til next week!” Meanwhile, Backlund quietly climbed back into the ring and tried to sneak up on Powers from behind, but Powers wheeled around and swung the cane, and Backlund jumped backwards onto his butt and scampered out of the ring.
LWF WORLD CLASS MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER NON-TITLE MATCH “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-b) beat LWF National Tag Team Champions EAST-WEST CONNECTION (Adrian Adonis & Jesse “The Body” Ventura) (low-b) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) when Rick beat Ventura with the Steiner Dog finisher (Referee: Nick Patrick) --The victory ensures that the Steiners will challenge the Road Warriors for the LWF World Tag Team belts at the November 23 PPV in Boston. Heenan led his men away from the ring, holding up their National Tag Team Title belts, proud that their belts weren’t on the line in this match.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, Tuesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central on LWF Prime Time Wrestling on ABC Family.

LWF PRIME TIME WRESTLING MAIN EVENT LOU THESZ (low-b) beat TERRY FUNK (low-b) with the Thesz Press finisher (Referee: Gilberto Roman)
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (hours 1 & 3), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (hour 2), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
TULLY BLANCHARD (low-b) beat JIM LONDOS (low) with a Sunset Flip (Referee: David Manning)
“MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat “PRETTY BOY” LARRY SHARPE (low) with the Discus Punch finisher (Referee: Earl Hebner) --During the match, Waldo Von Erich came to ringside and smacked his riding crop on the mat repeatedly, urging his nephew Kerry to be more aggressive. Kerry took a moment to yell and point at Waldo, but that gave Sharpe a temporary opening until Kerry hit the Discus Punch out of nowhere. After Kerry got the pin, he yelled at Waldo, “You want aggressive? I’ll show you aggressive!” He then slapped the Iron Claw on the nearly-unconscious Sharpe, and Referee Hebner called for help to pry Kerry off.
Bill Apter introduced Sabu and said that Sabu would speak for the very first time on LWF World Class Championship Wrestling. Apter was about to hand the mic to Sabu when Abdullah Farouk entered the ring. He said, “Sabu … expect the unexpected!” The lights went out, and when they came back on 20 seconds later, Sabu was flat on his back, covered in blood, with Farouk standing over him. Apter asked Farouk what he had done. Farouk replied, “My dear Mr. Apter, I am not the one who did this. Do you think I would soil my hands with the blood of this heathen? I keep telling Sabu to expect the unexpected. The unexpected … just happened.” Sabu had to be helped to the back, and it became doubtful whether he would be able to participate in the eight-man main event match involving the eight men who will be in the World Title Contender tournament Sunday night at the LWF Legends Of The Fall: Survival! Pay-Per-View.
ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat FABULOUS FREEBIRDS (Michael “P.S.” Hayes & Buddy “Jack” Roberts) (w/ Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy) (low-b) when Gibson beat Roberts with a Sleeper (Referee: Dave Hebner)
After the commercial break, cameras in the dressing room area caught the Freebirds assaulting the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, three-on-two. Officials and wrestlers tried to break it up, including LWF newcomer Domenic DeNucci, who was laid out by Gordy.
RIKIDOZAN (low) beat TONY PARISI (low-b) with the Hiplock finisher (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan)
For the next match, Bret Hart & Oliver Humperdink came to the ring, followed by Johnny Powers. A crew member brought two Singapore canes to the ring. Then, Gary Michael Cappetta announced the arrival of the Special Referee.
The guitar notes started…
“SAY YOUR PRAYERS, LITTLE ONE, DON’T FORGET, MY SON, TO INCLUDE EVERYOOOONE…”
SINGAPORE CANE MATCH--SPECIAL REFEREE: SANDMAN BRET “HITMAN” HART (low-b) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat JOHNNY POWERS (low-b) with a Ringpost Figure Four (Referee: Sandman) --Sandman called it right down the middle, involving himself only to make the two-count before each man kicked out. Hart wrapped Powers’ legs around the ringpost and whacked at his legs with his cane, and Powers verbally gave up as he tapped. Hart wasn’t done with him yet, as he dragged Powers to the middle of the ring and continued to decimate him with the cane. Sandman stood by briefly before charging towards Hart, his own cane upraised. Hart backed off as Sandman stood over the helpless Powers … and Sandman suddenly began swinging away at Powers himself! Humperdink climbed in the ring as Hart put Powers in the Sharpshooter. “Sir Oliver” then counted off large bill after large bill, indicating that he was paying off Sandman! Sandman then hit Powers a few more times with the cane as Hart held the Sharpshooter, until Kerry Von Erich and Lex Luger ran out, and Humperdink led his men away. Sandman had beers in his pockets for Hart and Humperdink as Von Erich and Luger tended to the unconscious Powers.
“DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK STEINER (w/ Scott Steiner) (low-b) beat LWF World Tag Team Co-Champion ROAD WARRIOR ANIMAL (w/ Road Warrior Hawk & “Precious” Paul Ellering) (low) by disqualification when Hawk interfered (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
LWF WORLD CLASS MAIN EVENT--EIGHT-MAN TAG TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH BOB BACKLUND (low-b), “INTELLIGENT SENSATIONAL” DESTROYER (low) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low), LWF World Cruiserweight Champion FRANK GOTCH (low) & LWF National Heavyweight Champion DAN “The BEAST” SEVERN (low) beat DORY FUNK JR. (low-b), “HANDS OF STONE” RONNIE GARVIN (low-b), “TOTAL PACKAGE” LEX LUGER (low-b) & “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (Referee: James Beard) --The match started without Sabu, who Solie and Ross said was still receiving medical attention after the mysterious lights-out attack earlier in the night. Funk was the first eliminated when Destroyer hit the Sensational Suplex on him. Gotch eliminated Garvin with the Gotch Toehold finisher. Destroyer gained the next fall, forcing Luger, the victim of a series of chop blocks, to submit to a Single Leg Boston Crab. Just as Referee Beard was about to declare victory for the Backlund-Destroyer-Gotch-Severn team, Sabu came limping to the ring, his head covered in bandages. Sabu fought valiantly, but, when Severn hit him with a shoulder tackle that knocked him out of the ring, Sabu could not get up and climb back in, finishing in a countout. As the heels claimed victory, Gotch told them they all did a great job, and any one of them would make a fine challenger for either him or his protégé Severn in the finals of Sunday night’s tournament. An argument broke out amongst the four, and it ended up with Gotch fighting Backlund and Destroyer fighting Severn. Funk, Garvin and Luger returned to the ring, and it was a seven-way brawl that worked its way out to the floor. As the seven were fighting, plus Humperdink, who was getting his shots in, Sabu recovered enough to set up a chair in the middle of the ring, come off the ropes, jump from the chair to the top rope, and flip-dive onto the mass of humanity, taking everyone down as TV time expired.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, Tuesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central on LWF Prime Time Wrestling on ABC Family.

WORLD TITLE CONTENDER TOURNAMENT--QUARTERFINAL MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion DAN “The BEAST” SEVERN (low) (w/ LWF World Cruiserweight Champion Frank Gotch) (low) beat “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) with a Fireman’s Carry Slam to advance to the semifinals (Referee: Earl Hebner) --Sabu still wore bandages on his head following last Monday night’s mysterious lights-out attack, and the wounds were re-opened during the course of the match. After the match, and after Severn and Gotch had left in victory, leaving a bleeding Sabu recovering in the ring, the lights went out. A ball of flame rose up from midring. When the lights came back up, Sabu was being viciously attacked by … THE SHEIK! Jim Ross noted that, if memory serves him, Sheik’s one-year suspension expired this past week. Sheik jabbed Sabu’s head repeatedly with his trademark pencil as Abdullah Farouk, who had also appeared out of the darkness, egged him on. A squadron of security rushed the ring, but Sheik held them all off, grabbing one of them and quickly busting him open with the pencil. LWF officials then ran out, and Farouk and The Sheik took off through the crowd, who parted for them like the Red Sea out of fear of becoming the next victim. Sabu received medical attention in the ring.
WORLD TITLE CONTENDER TOURNAMENT--SEMIFINAL MATCH LEX LUGER (low-b) beat FRANK GOTCH (low) (w/ Dan Severn) (low) by disqualification when Severn interfered; Luger advances to the finals (Referee: Dave Hebner) --After the match, Gotch and Severn shoved each other when Gotch blamed Severn for costing him a shot at the title.
WORLD TITLE CONTENDER TOURNAMENT--SEMIFINAL MATCH DAN SEVERN (low) beat RONNIE GARVIN (low-b) with the Wakigatame finisher to advance to the finals (Referee: Mark Curtis) --An apparently angry Gotch stayed in the back, coming out only to begrudgingly congratulate Severn on his win.
WORLD TITLE CONTENDER TOURNAMENT--FINALS DAN SEVERN (low) (w/ Frank Gotch) (low) beat LEX LUGER (low-b) with the Wakigatame finisher to win the tournament and earn the title shot against Lou Thesz later in the card (Referee: Dick Woherle)
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH--TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS, NO DISQUALIFICATION Champions “LEGION OF DOOM” ROAD WARRIORS (Animal & Hawk) (low) (w/ “Precious” Paul Ellering) (low) beat “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-b) two falls to none to retain the belts (Referee: Nick Patrick) --Hawk won the first fall with the Doomsday Device finisher on Scott, and Animal hit a surprising Sunset Flip on Scott to get the pin for the second and winning fall.
LWF LEGENDS OF THE FALL: SURVIVAL! ‘08 MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH, TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS Champion LOU THESZ (low-b) beat DAN SEVERN (low) (w/ Frank Gotch) (low) two falls to none to retain the belt (Referee: Tommy Young) --Gotch tried to intervene, but Thesz bashed their heads together with a Noggin Knocker that knocked Gotch out of the ring and Severn onto his back for the first pin. Thesz then used a Hammerlock to force Severn to tap out to end the match.

ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (hours 1 & 3), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (hour 2), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
DOMENIC DeNUCCI (low-b) beat MIKE “SOUL TRAIN” JONES (low) with the Airplane Spin finisher (Referee: Gilberto Roman) --Before and after the match, DeNucci made it a point to greet and hug a particular female fan. Solie and Ross speculated briefly on whether she was a guest of DeNucci’s.
Bill Apter greeted new World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz, who said he will honor the rematch clause and give Buddy Rogers a rematch for the title on December 14 at the LWF’s Christmas Eve Of Destruction PPV event. National Champion Dan Severn and World Cruiserweight Champion Frank Gotch came to the ring, and Severn made a challenge to Thesz for a World Title match, noting that, last night, Severn faced Thesz only after going through three other men in the one-night tournament. Thesz thought that was reasonable and agreed to have a match with Severn, but on one condition: that he leave his mentor Gotch in the dressing room. Gotch protested, but Severn quickly agreed to the stipulation. Gordon Solie thought there may be further dissension between Gotch and Severn in addition to what happened last night at the PPV.
BRUNO SAMMARTINO (low-b) beat WALDO VON ERICH (low-b) with the Bear Hug finisher (Referee: Dick Woherle) --During the match, Kerry Von Erich came to ringside to watch. When Sammartino got Waldo in the Bear Hug, Waldo appeared to be waving for Kerry to come in the ring and help him. Kerry climbed onto the ring apron … and just stood there, telling Waldo he needed to help himself. Sammartino’s grip tightened, and Waldo went limp, causing the referee to call for the bell. Sammartino dropped Waldo and glared at Kerry on his way out of the ring. Kerry stepped in and went to help his uncle up, but Waldo angrily shook him off. Waldo then demanded the mic, and he yelled at Kerry for not helping “family.” Kerry grabbed the mic away and said, “Uncle Waldo, I’ve had family problems before. My own brother David took the wrong path, and where is he now? He’s back at home in Texas, thinking about what he did wrong. I’m not going to end up like David. I’m not going to listen to the wrong people … not even you!” Waldo got the mic back. “So, that’s how you want it, eh? You go your way and I go mine, right? Well … blood is thicker than water. I’m all for it.” Kerry hesitated before hugging Waldo. When Kerry turned to leave the ring, though, Waldo got the riding crop out of the corner and nailed Kerry in the back of the head with it, and he proceeded to whip and beat Kerry and choke him out with the crop, all the while screaming at him about not crossing family. Sammartino and the referee came back to the ring to pull Waldo off of Kerry, but Waldo didn’t stop until he was good and ready, and Kerry was nearly unconscious. Sammartino helped Kerry to the back.
After the commercial break, Gene Okerlund was backstage with Sammartino. Sammartino said Kerry was having trouble talking because of the chokeout with the riding crop, but “he told me one thing, Gene, and that is, he wants a match with his Uncle Waldo, and he wants it to be next week. He also told me that, if he loses, he’ll be man enough to shake Waldo’s hand and follow his wishes, because, like it or not, Waldo is his elder, and family is family.” Okerlund then asked Sammartino if Kerry would be ready for his match in tonight’s Main Event against Bob Backlund. Sammartino said, “Doggone it, Gene, your guess is as good as mine.”
“INTELLIGENT, SENSATIONAL” DESTROYER (low) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat RIKIDOZAN (low) by countout (Referee: David Manning)
THE SHEIK (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with the Fireball finisher while Farouk had the referee turned around (Referee: Tommy Young) --After the pin, The Sheik continued to rip away at the rapidly bleeding South until Sabu showed up with a chair, and Farouk yanked Sheik out of the ring and pulled him to the back.
LWF World Cruiserweight Champion FRANK GOTCH (low) & LWF National Heavyweight Champion DAN “The BEAST” SEVERN (low) beat “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-b) by disqualification when the LWF National Tag Team Champions, the East-West Connection (Adrian Adonis & Jesse Ventura) showed up to taunt the Steiners. Scott chased them off with a chair, but, when Severn came up behind him, Scott laid him out with the chair, earning the DQ (Referee: Nick Patrick)
“GOLDEN GREEK” JIM LONDOS (low) beat “HANDS OF STONE” RONNIE GARVIN (low-b) with the Airplane Spin finisher (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan)
“TOTAL PACKAGE” LEX LUGER (low-b) beat BRET “HITMAN” HART (low-b) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) with the Human Torture Rack finisher (Referee: James Beard) --Humperdink called for his other men, the Destroyer and Sandman, to come help, but Luger saw them coming and tossed Hart onto them over the top rope. Hart grabbed his knee and looked to legitimately need assistance from officials.
LWF WORLD CLASS MAIN EVENT BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH with the Crossface Chicken Wing finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Ring Announcer Gary Michael Cappetta called twice for Kerry before he slowly emerged from underneath the LegendsVision screen and walked to the ring. He was clearly not himself in the wake of the vicious attack by his uncle, and that made him easy pickings for Backlund and his punishing chicken wing hold.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, Tuesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central on LWF Prime Time Wrestling on ABC Family.

Mike Tenay said they had found out that the girl was Domenic’s niece, Trudi DeNucci, who has had a few matches on the East Coast under the name Trinity.
After the commercial break, Gene Okerlund was backstage with DeNucci and Sammartino, and Sammartino said he wanted another match with Goliath & Gordman next week.
LWF PRIME TIME WRESTLING MAIN EVENT--NON-TITLE MATCH “GOLDEN GREEK” JIM LONDOS (low) beat LWF National Heavyweight Champion DAN “The BEAST” SEVERN (low) (w/ LWF World Cruiserweight Champion Frank Gotch) (low) with a Sunset Flip (Referee: Mark Curtis) --Londos made the Sunset Flip from the ring apron into the ring; as Londos tried to pull Severn over, Gotch held onto Severn’s hands to keep him from going over, but the referee kicked Gotch’s hands off, and Londos pulled Severn over and hooked his shoulders with his feet to get the 1-2-3.
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (hours 1 & 3), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (hour 2), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
“HACKSAW” JIM DUGGAN (low) (w/ Nikita Breznikov) (low) beat “PRETTY BOY” LARRY SHARPE (low) with a Piledriver (Referee: James Beard) --Before the match, people were shocked to see Duggan coming to the ring with the man in the Russian military uniform. Gene Okerlund climbed into the ring and asked Duggan why he had Breznikov with him. Duggan said, “Now, ‘Mean Gene,’ just hear me out. Ya may remember the ol’ Hacksaw didn’t do too well the last time I was in the LWF. Well, this time, I got myself someone who knows all about motivation and discipline. And, we had ourselves a long talk, and he’s got a much better attitude now than he had the last time he was here. So, with my new motivation and his new attitude, I think we’re on our way to winning some gold here in the LWF.” Breznikov smirked at Okerlund as Duggan went to put his two-by-four down in the corner. The match didn’t last long at all, with Duggan destroying Sharpe inside of one minute.
MICHAEL “P.S.” HAYES of the FABULOUS FREEBIRDS (low-b) (w/ Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy & Buddy “Jack” Roberts) (low-b) beat RICKY MORTON of the ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (low-b) (w/ Robert Gibson) (low-b) by countout (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --Gibson & Morton started brawling with Gordy and Roberts outside the ring while Hayes was down inside the ring, and the referee counted to 10 and counted Morton out. Hayes recovered and joined in the fracas, which went towards the back and through the curtain underneath the LegendsVision screen.
Backstage, Bill Apter was with Kerry Von Erich, who has a match later in the night against his uncle, Waldo Von Erich. If Waldo wins, Kerry would have to do as he says. Kerry started to address the situation when the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express and Freebirds crashed through the set.. When Kerry tried to break it up, Hayes shoved him away, and Kerry joined the fight, swinging away at the Freebirds and decking Roberts with a Discus Punch. Security swarmed onto the pile of humanity to pull them apart.
BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat LEX LUGER (low-b) with the Crossface Chicken Wing finisher (Referee: Earl Hebner)
TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat THE SHEIK (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) by disqualification when Sheik threw a Fireball finisher at him, and the referee caught him (Referee: Gilberto Roman) --Funk convulsed in pain as the flame burned his face, and EMT’s ran out quickly with water and towels. Farouk pulled Sheik out of the ring as Sabu ran down the aisle to chase his uncle and his manager off.
After the break, Okerlund was seen outside Funk’s dressing room door, where he was being tended to for his burns. LWF GM Bill Watts said he had warned Sheik and Farouk about pulling stunts like this, and, with it happening in full sight of the referee, it was grounds for suspension. “I’m going to convene the Board of Directors in Dallas first thing in the morning, and I’m going to recommend another suspension.”
