Ha ha! Awesome! I wanted to take this ex-con thug character that many fans think is ‘cool’ and make him as menacing as he should be. A guy you shouldn’t like. Gangsta culture be damned. Now the bigger trick: can I bring him back around to where you can like him again? While that may remain to be seen, he’s got a whole lot more bad to be before we reach that point. Pretty certain I've said this before, but it bears repeating... You do an absolutely superb job with character development in your feds... Please keep doing what you're doing because I enjoy this stuff immensely... And thank you for sharing! Thanks for the kind words. I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Just at a moderate pace. Thanks again.

Pop-Up Pre-Show #3: Absolute Intense Wrestling The Odeon
Cleveland, OH June 21, 2022Commentary: Joe Dombrowski
Ring Announcer: Steve Guy
Referee: Tom Dunn
All matches contested under Level 1 Rules (strict).
Joe: “Welcome, wrestling fans, to another PWIS pop-up show. We are here once again with our friends at AIW in Cleveland. Let’s get things started.”
Matt Cross vs. Orin Veidt
Joe: “Matt Cross is with us once again taking on a man who has one foot in the door here in PWIS and in need of a win to keep a hold on his spot.”
Cross and Veidt start with a handshake. Veidt takes the early advantage but goes for a top rope elbow drop way too soon. Stage dive crossbody by Cross for a two count. Double stomp by Cross leaves Veidt sucking for air. Shooting Star Press and another two count for Cross. M-Dogg is on fire with shooting star presses from the mat and the top rope. Veidt reverses with a DDT off the ropes and puts his offense into gear. Cradle Shock for a two count. Total Anarchy from Veidt. Cover. 1-2-3.
Joe: “Good showing by Orin Veidt this evening. Any win against Matt Cross is well earned.”
Winner: Orin Veidt
Video segment:
Pre-recorded promo - Joshua Bishop
“I got some words for "The King" Nick Gage. I’ve seen what you’ve been doing to my friend Wes Barkley and I’ve had it! The Rip City Shooters look out for their own and I mean to do something about it. Get your ass to Cleveland. Don’t make me come looking for you.”
The Mane Event vs. Major Players
Joe: “Matt Cardona and Brian Myers, part of the Been To The Show faction, have been causing trouble in AIW for some time now. Let’s see if one of the hottest teams in AIW can knock them down a peg."
Cardona gets the early jump on his opponent but Duke Davis quickly turns things around and TME commit a Flagrant Foul. Cardona reverses with a flapjack on Ganon Jones Jr. and makes the fast cover. Easy kick out by Jones. Myers tags in and comes off the top rope with a smash. Major Players with the Long Island Express! Jones kicks out strong. Myers is bewildered by not getting the pin. A pair of lifting DDTs and Myers goes for another cover. Two. Cardona is back in with a face wash. Jones has taken a lot of punishment. Facewash again and Cardona drags him out of the corner and covers. Duke makes the save and Cardona complains to the ref. Myers tags in and misses a jumping elbow smash. Jones fights back with big right hands as Davis reaches for the tag. But no! Myers makes the tag first! Jones blocks a jaw breaker by Cardona and makes it to his partner! TME with The McAfee. Cardona reverses a corner attack by Davis. Duke takes some hard hits and leaves the ring to shake it off. Myers distracts the ref and Cardona blasts Davis with a chair shot. Cardona with an avalanche hurricanrana. Davis needs the tag but Jones is still down. Whip into the turnbuckle by Cardona but Davis rebounds with a lariat. Cover for a near fall! Cardona looks panicked after nearly being pinned. Jones joins his partner in the ring for The TwoPlex. Davis covers - three count! Myers nearly mugs the ref for an explanation as a shocked Cardona just sits on the mat with a blank stare. The Cleveland crowd cheers their favorites as they head to the back.
Joe: “Big win by TME. We could be seeing more them in PWIS in the future.”
Winner: The Mane Event
Joshua Bishop vs. KTB
Joe: “We heard from Joshua Bishop earlier about what’s going on between Nick Gage and Wes Barkley but right now he needs to focus on the task at hand. KTB is not a man to overlook.”
The two big men trade heavy blows with KTB landing the first big shot with a diving reverse head butt. Tombstone by Bishop but he misses a slingshot elbow drop. KTB uses the opening for an inverted atomic drop & splash. More strong attacks by KTB leading to Go To Beast. Near fall has the Cleveland fans on the edge of their seats. BeastSault misses! 2nd rope lariat by Bishop. Josh hefts the weakened KTB to the top rope. Avalanche Crucifix Powerbomb!! KTB gets his shoulder up at the last moment. Bishop slaps the canvas in frustration. Chokeslam by Bishop and KTB rolls out to the floor. Bishop gives pursuit. KTB bashes Bishop against the guardrail then proceeds to pull apart a section of the barricade and drop it on his prone opponent. As KTB deals with the ref warning him about his actions, Bishop grabs a chair from the crowd and attacks. KTB tosses Josh onto the section of barricade. This one’s getting out of control. The action returns to the ring with Bishop turning the tide with a sidewalk slam. KTB fires back and Josh starts taking a beating and things go back out to the floor. KTB eats the ring post. Bishop with a Black Hole Slam for a two count. Chokeslam on the apron rocks KTB. More back and forth. Bishop appears to be wearing down. Beasthammer for a two count. Bishop goes out to the floor again. Josh picks up the barricade once again as KTB closes in. The ref steps between the two but Bishop tosses the railing over his head, clobbering KTB. Not wanting the match to go down this path again, the referee calls for the bell, disqualifying Bishop. This proves to be an unpopular decision with Bishop and the fans in The Odeon. Even KTB seems to think the stoppage was premature.
Joe: "The referee tonight is not a PWIS official and he gave plenty of leeway in this match but he made the right call."
Winner: KTB
Joe: "Well, that's all for tonight. Join us July 4th for Spirit of Independence, where we crown a new PWIS Champion! Goodnight."

That was a major victory for the Mane Event... Gotta buy them consideration for a shot at the tag belts somewhere down the road.
Bishop loses his temper AND a technical decision right after calling out Nick f'n Gage... Hmmmm... I don't think Gage will be the least bit intimidated or impressed... Looking forward to the inevitable conflict between these two heavy hitters.
Great stuff! Keep em rolling!

Nick Gage promo:
"Josh Bishop, you know, you and I have done this thing before. So, I thought you'd be smart and stay the f- out of my way. But I guess I got somethin' you want. But there's only two ways to get the Biscuit. Either someone passes it to you or you take it from him. And I ain't givin' you sh*t. So the next time I'm in Cleveland, yeah, you can try to take it from me. But I'll tell you one thing right now: this time I won't leave you alive when we're through. You better believe that."

“Hello, wrestling fans. Joe Dombrowski here. I want to speak on something that I feel needs to be clarified. There are those who have expressed… concerns… about the operations of PWIS and my role in the company. While this has been a vocal minority, I believe these concerns should be addressed. In the spirit of transparency, I am stating here and now that I am the majority owner of PWIS and have been for nearly a decade. I am also the promoter and am responsible for a majority of the matchmaking, or booking if you will. That being said, I make every effort to treat all twelve of our contracted talents with equity and respect. I want everyone to succeed. I do not want adversarial relationships. I think we can all agree that the ‘authority figure’ trope in professional wrestling has become overused and unoriginal. That’s not what I want for PWIS. I discourage anyone, wrestlers and fans alike, from thinking that I would hold someone down, either due to a grudge or as some kind of ‘angle’. I believe in letting the wrestlers do what they are good at: professional wrestling. And I can’t do that if I’m standing in their way. And above all, I want the fans to enjoy the action in the ring without worrying about what’s going on behind the scenes. On behalf of everyone in PWIS, I thank you for your continued support. See you at the matches.”

From Far and Wide
Harpos
Detroit, MI July 3, 2022Commentary: Joe Dombrowski
Ring Announcer: Larry Legend
Referees: Jake Clemons, Kris Levin
All matches contested under Level 1 Rules (strict).
Larry: "Welcome, wrestling fans, to Pro Wrestling Independent Spirit - From Far and Wide!"
Flamita vs. Jimmy Lloyd
Joe: "Good afternoon everyone. We are live from Harpos in Detroit. Our opening match features the sensational luchador from Mexico, Flamita, taking on Jimmy Lloyd who is making his first PWIS appearance."
The match starts with a handshake. A fast-paced exchange of kicks and counters moves into some high impact offense with neither man able to get a firm advantage. A handspring cutter by Lloyd leads into a package piledriver. Cover for two. Lloyd follows up with a Tombstone. Another kick out at two. Lloyd is taking it to Flamita. Another package piledriver. Kick out. Two Assault Drivers from Jimmy. Flamita fights his way back into it. Running shooting star press by Flamita has Lloyd rolling out to the floor. Flamita comes out after him. Jimmy grabs a chair and, ignoring the referee’s warning, smashes the masked man with it. The ref calls for the bell and the disqualification of Lloyd. Jimmy is perplexed by the decision as Flamita’s hand is raised.
Joe: “I think Mr. Lloyd is accustomed to wrestling in more permissive organizations but in PWIS we go a little more by the book.”
Winner: Flamita
Danhausen vs. Kevin Ku
The crowd is really behind Danhausen and Ku tries to play it straight but can’t help but show a little amusement at the antics of the “Very Nice, Very Evil One”. Ku’s amusement halts when Danhausen licks his face at the lock up. Danhausen goes on the attack and gets a near fall after a pair of choke slams. Devotion DDThausen for another two count. Goodnighthausen sets up a top rope lariat. 2.8. After a couple of failed attempts to rally, Ku finally gets some offense in. A strong single crab sets up Ku-Die On Stage. Cover for a two count. Ku repeats his backbreaker finisher and this time gets the three-count. Danhausen is not happy and puts a curse on Ku. At first Kevin thinks it’s funny but quavers under Danhausen’s sinister stare. He starts apologizing but Danhausen leaves without another word. Ku looks worried.
Joe: “A big win by Kevin Ku but at what cost? I don’t think I’d want to be in his shoes right now."
Winner: Kevin Ku
Larry: “All right ladies and gentlemen let’s keep the ball rolling here.”
Besties In the World vs. Philly Marino Experience
The two teams start shoving each other during the introductions and the ref rings the bell as fists fly. PME execute a sidewalk slam/elbow drop double team on Mat Fitchett. Marino Tenaglia makes the cover. Fitchet easily kicks out. The Besties fire back with a giant swing & SSP, then a dropkick & senton with Davey Vega going for the pin. Marino’s foot is on the rope. Vega goes to the top rope and connects but goes up a second time and Tenaglia catches him with a savate kick. Near fall on Vega. Philly Collins tags in and works on Davy until Vega makes a defensive tag out. Assisted cutter by the Besties crosses Philly’s eyes. Besties continue double teaming and hit Brain Damage for a near fall on Collins. Vega gets double teamed by PME who get a two count after Sunset Dreams. Back and forth they go with a slew of teamwork. Vega almost forces a submission on Collins with a Sharpshooter. Vega catches Collins with a Brain Eater. Tenaglia with the save and Fitchet comes in as well. The teams start brawling. The ref unsuccessfully tries to regain order and when he can’t he throws the match out.
Joe: “The tag team division in PWIS is heating up!”
No contest
Orin Veidt vs. PJ Hawx
Despite some early mistakes, Veidt controls the early stages of the match until Hawx reverses a backslide and almost gets the pin with an inside cradle. Orin gets right back on track though, getting a two count after a 450 splash. Falcon arrow followed up with an STO puts Hawx away.
Joe: “Convincing win by Orin Veidt.”
Winner: Orin Veidt
Angelina Love & Miranda Gordy vs. Kylie Rae & Willow Nightingale
Joe: “Angelina Love requested to tag with Miranda Gordy after the match they had at back in May. I hope Miranda is aware of Angelina’s fickle nature.”
Willow begins the match for her team against Miranda. Gordy bludgeons Willow and drops her with a double axe handle and gets a two count. Angelina tags in and applies a Koji Clutch on Willow. Love puts Willow through her paces and clocks her with a spinning wheel kick. Willow barely kicks out. Angelina tags Miranda back in. Gordy misses a corner splash and Willow is able to make it to her corner and tag in Kylie. Miranda avoids a corner charge by Kylie who topples out onto the floor. Miranda uses Babe’s Spike for a pin attempt before tagging out. Angelina puts Kylie in the Koji Clutch. Kylie makes a strong comeback and levels Love with a superkick. Cover and two. On the kick out, Kylie transitions into a crossface and Angelina drags both of them under the ropes and to the floor. Kylie takes the worst of the bump on the ground, giving Angelina time to act. Love sets up some chairs and positions to put Kylie through them with Lights Out. Referee Kris Levin tries to stop it but Angelina shoves him down. Kylie gets slammed into the chairs and the ref disqualifies the team of Love and Gordy. Miranda confronts Angelina after the bell, questioning her actions. Angelina looks impatient being lectured by the less experienced Gordy but contains herself and the pair go back to the locker room.
Winners: Kylie Rae & Willow Nightingale
Six-Way Earn Your Spot Scramble
Kevin Blackwood vs. Ninja Mack vs. Jack Cartwheel vs. Cole Radrick vs. Dark Sheik vs. Zicky Dice
Joe: “We have six new faces here in PWIS, each looking to earn a spot on our next show with a chance to work their way onto the roster.”
The melee begins and when the dust clears, it’s Dark Sheik and Jack Cartwheel facing each other in the ring. These two go back and forth until Cole Radrick intercedes and goes after Sheik. Cole gets in some good offense and dumps Sheik out of the ring. Radrick then beats Cartwheel around inside and out of the ring. These two have a good exchange, then Kevin Blackwood jumps in only to be attacked by the returning Sheik. Slingshot legdrop and senton, Sheik goes for the pin. Two. Welcome To Die! Blackwood kicks out on one. Ninja Mack is in and hits Sheik with the NSS. A flurry of strikes and a Ninja tornado kick puts Sheik down for a two count. Ninja Flop for another near fall. Cartwheel tries hitting Mack with a handspring corner elbow but Mack counters with a Ninja tornado kick in a collision that gets a pop from the crowd. Cartwheel and Mack go at it until Radrick inserts himself only to take a hurricanrana from Cartwheel who hooks a leg for the pin! Radrick is shocked and the other participants are disappointed.
Joe: “It looks like we will be seeing Jack Cartwheel at our show in August. Congratulations and good luck to him.”
Winner: Jack Cartwheel
Thom Latimer vs. Tony Deppen
At the bell, Latimer lights up Deppen with some right hands then spears him out of his boots. Latimer circles the wheezing Deppen. “You’re fighting in the big leagues now, Tony,” Latimer taunts. Deppen takes a lot of heavy shots from Latimer and gets dropped on his head repeatedly. Despite the pounding he is receiving, Tony keeps kicking out of Latimer’s pin attempts. Finally, The Brighter Side of Suffering puts Deppen down for the count. Afterward, Latimer helps Tony to his feet and scrutinizes him a moment before taking his leave.
Joe: “Deppen showed a lot of heart but Thom Latimer was a force this day.”
Winner: Thom Latimer
Ross and Marshall Von Erich make their entrance to a big ovation from the crowd. They are soon followed out by PWIS Tag Team Champions, Aussie Open, who get a good reception as well.
PWIS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Aussie Open(c) vs. The Von Erichs
Joe: “Alright, fans, our main event is the much-anticipated first title defense by Aussie Open, as they face the team who threw down the gauntlet as soon as the champions were crowned. The Von Erich family legacy was all that was needed to make this match happen.”
The two teams show good sportsmanship, shaking hands before the bell. Kyle Fletcher starts the match off against Ross Von Erich. Kicks are thrown with both sides avoiding the other. Fletcher works a wristlock then whips Ross into his corner. Tag to Mark Davis and they hit a Pop-up Aussie Arrow. Cover on Ross, kick out at the last moment! Davis with a one-handed powerbomb and a cover. Two. Ross is in big trouble early until he evades and hits a missile dropkick that frees him to tag in his brother. Marshall opens up on Davis and the Von Erichs hit a corner kick/ flying forearm combo then a double dropkick. Davis is reeling. Falcon arrow by Ross. Davis is reaching for a tag but isn’t even close. Davis fights back and knocks Ross around before tagging in Fletcher. Corner lariat & Ripsnorter by Aussie Open. Fletcher with a diving crossbody, the momentum carrying them close enough to the Von Erichs corner for Marshall to get the tag. Marshall puts a Texas-size whoopin’ on Fletcher. Kyle evades a corner charge and counters with a Ripsnorter. Fletcher builds momentum, wiping Marshall out on the floor with a suicide dive. Davis tags in and AO hit the Fidget Spinner. Marshall kicks out at two. “Dunkzilla” with Close Your Eyes. Marshall’s shoulder up again at two. Marshall with an Iron Claw out of nowhere! Davis reaches the ropes. Marshall softens Davis up and tags Ross back in. Flying Rossbody. Cannonball. Cover. Two. Von Erichs with the Iron Claw/Back Suplex! Davis gets his foot on the bottom rope. Von Erichs are downcast. Marshall goes back to work but the energy is waning. Davis avoids a barefoot dropkick and uses a huge Beell to send Von Erich towards the Aussie corner and a tag out to Fletcher. A couple of smashes off the top rope leave Marshall vulnerable for Grimstone by Fletcher. Near fall. Marshall tags Ross. Iron Claw! Marshall dropkicks Davis from the apron. Kyle’s shoulders are to the mat. 1-2-3. New tag team champions!
Winners: The Von Erichs
Joe: “History is made. What a battle. The Von Erichs are the new PWIS Tag Team Champions and the fans are on their feet. Well, that’s all for now. Join us tomorrow for Spirit of Independence where we will crown a new PWIS Champion! See you then.”
In the ring, Aussie Open raise the hands of the Von Erichs as the stream ends.

Unfortunate that Aussie Open's run with the tag belts was so short... Hopefully, the Von Erichs will have a more successful stay at the top... That being said, both teams delivered a helluva show in that main event.
Orin Veidt continues to look impressive... And of course, I thoroughly enjoyed the post-match antics of Danhausen... Very nice, very evil indeed!
This was a slick warmup event for what's coming at Spirit Of Independence... Stoked!
