Gage vs. Bishop sounds like an explosion waiting to happen. I'm looking forward to that one. As for Salina de la Renta, I fear what could happen to Da' Mack, but it will most definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out. Gage and Bishop are definitely about to erupt. But Gage has some other business to handle first. The new champ has a controversial manager but will she live up to her rep? I don't know myself. Thanks for checking in!

Jordan Oliver promo
“Hey, Nick Gage. I heard you talking about me like I’m afraid of you or something. You’re nothing but a bully, Gage. And I stopped running from bullies a long time ago. I’m not like Bitch Barkley and whatever that weird sh*t you got going on with him is. I have no problem standing up to you. So if you want a fight, you got it. Joe Dombrowski, I hope you’re watching this. Let it be known that I want Nick Gage in the ring at the next PWIS show. And Gage, don’t come with no excuse like you have a concussion or something. When I beat you, everyone is going to see you for the fraud that you are.”

Armageddon Soon
The White Eagle
Worcester, MA August 20, 2022Commentary: Joe Dombrowski
Ring Announcer: Larry Legend
Referees: Jake Clemons, Kris Levin
All matches contested under Level 1 Rules (strict) unless otherwise stipulated.
Joe: “Good evening, wrestling fans! Thank you for joining us for Pro Wrestling Independent Spirit. We have an exciting card slated for tonight, so let’s take it down to Larry for our first match.”
Larry waits in the ring for his cue. Music plays and Larry does a double take, looking to the curtain with a puzzled look. Out step The Major Players, Matt Cardona and Brian Myers, and the jeers instantly rain down on them.
Joe: “What are these two doing? They’re not even scheduled to be here tonight.”
The Majors hop in the ring and Cardona rips the mic out of Larry’s hand. Myers crowds the ring announcer out of the way. Cardona grins, waiting for the boos to die down. This takes a while as Matt has a middle digit to share with the crowd a few times. Finally it quiets down enough for Cardona to speak.
“Huhn. Big crowd here tonight. You must have heard we were going to be here. Because that’s what we’re here to do. We’re what you call in the wrestling business a ‘draw’. People pay to come and see us. But you know what? We’re not booked to wrestle tonight.”
Cheers go up and Cardona grimaces.
“We’re here to drag this outlaw promotion out of the mud but how are we going to do that if we’re not booked. Huh? Tell me that. We’re the best tag team in wrestling today and we should be the champions of this company but how can we do that if we’re not booked? I mean, where are the Von Erichs? They won the belts then ran off to Hawaii with them. Not what I would call fighting champions." Myers shakes his head disappointedly. "But we’re here. Always ready. And you know what? We’re not leaving this ring until we get some competition.”
The fans start booing again as the Majors settle in to wait for someone to come out. Eventually the curtain parts and out steps local favorite Wheeler Yuta. The crowd pops. Cardona is perplexed.
"Who the hell is this guy?" Myers whispers something to him. Cardona shakes his head. "Never heard of ‘im."
Yuta stands outside of the ring and says some unintelligible things to the men in the ring.
"You what? You want us to shut up?" Cardona and Myers laugh. The crowd gets behind Yuta and starts a 'Shut the f up’ chant. Cardona is getting agitated and fires back at the crowd.
"It’s going to take a whole lot more than that to shut me up."
Yuta shouts something else Cardona’s way. Matt’s eyebrows raise.
"Oh, you’re going to shut me up? You’re welcome to get in this ring and get your ass kicked. Because in case you haven’t noticed, there’s two of us and only one of you."
Cardona grins as if that settles it.
Music begins to play and KTB bursts through the curtain to another big pop. He's rocking to the music, amped up and ready to fight. Yuta smiles and nods his head.
"What?! Not this guy again."
KTB throws off his duster, exchanges nods with Yuta and the two charge the ring.
The Major Players vs. Wheeler Yuta & KTB
Once the ref gets control, he calls for the bell to officially start the match. Yuta has Cardona on his heels with his technical prowess. German suplex has Matt reaching for a tag but Wheeler cuts him off. Pain Thriller and cover by Yuta. Kick out at two. KTB tags in and hits a second rope walk DVD. Cardona manages to make the tag. Myers gets pummeled some then tags Cardona back in. Matt gets a couple of big shots in but KTB catches him in a half crap and sits in deep. Cardona taps out.
Joe: “The Major Players came in with a lot to say but they couldn’t back it up.”
Winners: Wheeler Yuta & KTB
Introductions are made for the next match between Tony Deppen and Jack Cartwheel. Before the ref can call for the bell, a woman comes through the curtain and approaches the ring. She is wearing a Japanese Hannya mask. She climbs into the ring and removes the mask. It’s Masha Slamovich. She gives every indication that she intends to join this match. Deppen steps over and shoves her. She reacts but the ref steps between them as Deppen smirks. Cartwheel good-naturedly agrees to Masha being included. “I’m good with it.” The referee, however, denies Masha a spot in the contest and instructs her to leave the ring. Masha stubbornly resists but the ref sternly orders her out and she grudgingly complies.
Joe: “I’m sure PWIS would love to have Masha Slamovich on a future show but tonight is for Jack Cartwheel to show what he’s got in one-on-one competition after winning our last Earn Your Spot Scramble.”
Tony Deppen vs. Jack Cartwheel
The match gets off to a quick start with Deppen outpacing Cartwheel and landing with a hard slingshot senton. Deppen hits a Back of the Head K.O. Blow and it appears to be over but Cartwheel kicks out. Jack reverses off the ropes, dropping Tony on his head with a spinning DDT. Jack deftly climbs to the top turnbuckle but Deppen recovers and knocks his legs out from under him. Deppen opens up with some high impact offense. Cartwheel survives the Back of the Head K.O. Blow again. Frustrated, Tony throws Cartwheel out to the floor. The two start brawling in the crowd. Seeing that the contest has slipped out of his control, the ref throws the match out. Ring crew and officials have to separate the fighters after this unexpectedly heated battle.
Joe: “Some might say Jack Cartwheel has made an inauspicious debut but it looks to me like he has the fighting spirit PWIS is looking for.”
No contest
LuFisto and Miranda Gordy come out to the ring for their match.
Joe: “Miranda requested this rematch because she felt their first meeting was not her best effort and… Now wait a minute. Masha Slamovich is out here again."
Masha has indeed reappeared and climbs into the ring. She confronts the referee and Larry and can be overheard asking if she could take part in this match. LuFisto encourages the idea and, while less enthusiastic, Miranda nods her okay as well. Larry and the official look for word from off camera and seem to get the green light as the match is then announced as a three-way contest. Masha seems more sullen than pleased about the arrangement.
LuFisto vs. Miranda Gordy vs. Masha Slamovich
Masha stands back and lets LuFisto and Miranda battle it out but steps in to break up a pin attempt by LuFisto following a Code Breaker. Lu tries to go after Masha but gets tagged with a spinning heel kick. Masha then drops Lu on her head with a Red Star and applies a rear naked choke. LuFisto is fading and Masha goes for her White Night Driver. Near fall. Brain Soup by Masha. Lu rolls out of the ring. Masha goes out after her but is intercepted by Miranda. The two brawl with Masha getting the advantage. Back in the ring, Masha works over Gordy and it’s Miranda’s turn for a White Night Driver. 1-2-3.
Joe: "Impressive showing by Slamovich in this impromptu debut. In the future I hope she goes through the normal channels to be part of the show."
Winner: Masha Slamovich
Orin Veidt comes out for his match. He is carrying two fluorescent light tubes. Before getting into the ring, he sets one of the light tubes on the mat under the turnbuckle. The other tube he holds up almost reverently then breaks it over his own head. He closes his eyes and breathes meditatively, then gets into the ring as some blood drips from under his hairline.
Joe: “What has gotten into Orin Veidt?! He did the same thing before his match during our last pop-up show. It has an almost ritualistic quality. This is somewhat disturbing."
“The Iron Demon” Shane Mercer is out next. As he awaits the introductions, he notices that Veidt is bleeding and gives him a questioning look. The ref is about to call for the bell but Veidt stops him and indicates that he needs a moment. He retrieves the other light tube and turns to Mercer who naturally assumes a defensive posture. Orin tries to assure he isn’t intending an aggressive move. He holds out the light tube to Mercer. Shane is skeptical as to Veidt’s intent but cautiously takes the object. Mercer looks at Orin quizzically, not sure what the point is and Orin says that the tube is for Shane. Mercer looks at the tube, then crossly at Veidt. Orin just smiles. Mercer has had enough of this foolishness and cracks the tube over Veidt’s head. The ref steps in and gets the angry Iron Demon to step back. Veidt winces and more blood pours down his face. The ref checks with him and it seems like Veidt still wants to go forward with the match. The ref is perplexed but calls for the bell.
Shane Mercer vs. Orin Veidt
Mercer attacks Veidt with a measured rage, drilling him into the mat with a pair of tombstones then effortlessly tosses Orin into the air with an Iron Crush. Veidt takes a short but brutal beating and Mercer knocks the hell out of him with a discus lariat for the pin. After the bell, Mercer looks down at his crumbled opponent with disdain and shakes his head.
Joe: “If somebody can tell me what just happened, I would really appreciate it.”
Winner: Shane Mercer
The next match is one anticipated by PWIS fans as Chris Masters, the leader of Been To The Show, takes on the big man of Godz of Destruction, Madman Fulton. Introductions are made but the mood changes when Larry announces that the match will be contested under Level 2 Rules, meaning the referee will show a lot of lenience. This hardcore style could be seen as playing into Fulton’s hands. Masters does a double take when he hears this. “What?! Uh-huh. No one said…” Masters does not get a chance to finish as the ref calls for the bell.
Chris Masters vs. Madman Fulton Level 2 Rules (relaxed)
Masters is not accustomed to being physically outmatched and thus gets manhandled a little in the early stages of the match. However, Chris methodically works his way back into the contest and soon has Fulton in position for the Masterlock. Too soon. He has a difficult time securing the hold and Fulton is able to escape before Chris can sink it in. Fulton returns fire but mistakenly goes to the top rope where Masters cuts him off and hurls him to the mat. Masters goes for a pin after an inverted atomic drop but the ref catches him with his feet on the ropes. Fulton has to go to the floor to gather himself and Masters pursues. Chris nearly stumbles over a folded chair that didn’t seem to be there a moment ago. He looks at it and realizes this match is being fought under relaxed rules. He clobbers Fulton with the chair. He then lays the chair on top of Fulton, has a few choice words for some nearby fans, and hits a standing leg drop on the chair and Fulton. Masters takes Fulton back in the ring and uses a Samoan Drop for a failed pin attempt. Masters continues to beat on Fulton but cannot hold his shoulders to the mat long enough for the pin. He goes for the Masterlock again. The 6' 8" Fulton immediately gets to the ropes utilizing his great reach. The two go back and forth some more until Chris is able to apply the Masterlock a third time. This time it’s on tight and Fulton has to submit. Masters is breathing hard. As the ref goes to raise his hand, he pulls away roughly, clearly displeased with how events played out.
Joe: “Strong showing by ‘The Masterpiece’ as he looks to make a case for another chance at Willie Mack and the PWIS Championship.”
Winner: Chris Masters
Angel Ortiz vs. Lee Moriarty
Joe: “Lee Moriarty is looking to bounce back after a disappointing second round elimination during the PWIS Championship tournament where he was the number one seed. He has a test ahead of him here as he faces the wily and unpredictable Ortiz.”
“The Funky Monkey” comes after Moriarty with a flurry of punches, chops, and bites. Moriarty fends off the barrage and brings it to a halt with a seated double stomp. Lee slaps on Joint Custody and Ortiz struggles desperately to reach the ropes. Taiga Driver X by Moriarty for a near fall. Ortiz capitalizes on a mistake by Moriarty and lands a hard hitting sunset flip powerbomb. Monkey Bar by Ortiz gets a two count. A pair of frog splashes and another Monkey Bar. Moriarty kick out at 2.9. Monkey Bar again. Kick out at one! Moriarty fight forever! Kick, Swivel, Plank!!! Pinfall. Ortiz strikes a kung fu pose as the disheartened Moriarty leaves the ring.
Joe: “Rough loss for Moriarty who’s on a bit of a slide. Hopefully we’ll see a return to form with his next appearance.”
Winner: Angel Ortiz
With the main event about to begin, there is a tense anticipation throughout The White Eagle. Jordan Oliver is out first to a somewhat mixed reaction. This is soon overshadowed by Nick Gage’s music playing and the MDK gang stirring up in the crowd. “The King” comes out and the place pops. It takes a little time for Gage to make it to the ring through the throng of his fans. Once in the ring, Gage shoots an intense stare in Oliver’s direction but remains composed during the introductions. There are a few more boos for Jordan as he is announced. Gage receives overwhelming support as he is introduced. Oliver’s consternation shows as he takes the mic from Larry and addresses the crowd. “Why are you cheering this guy? He’s an a**hole!”
More boos come and Gage gives a small smile and makes a signal towards the curtain as he tells Jordan “I’m going to make you my bitch.”
With that cue, Wes Barkley comes down to the ring and Nick orders him up on the apron. Once the crowd gets a good look at Wes, there is a mix of laughs and stupefaction. Barkley is dresses nearly identical to Oliver and is wearing his hair to mimic Jordan’s. Oliver’s jaw drops. “What the hell is that?”
“That’s you,” Gage responds, then barks at the ref. “Ring the f- bell.”
Nick Gage vs. Jordan Oliver
Joe: “I really don’t like the vibe we have going on right now. And what is Wes doing?”
Gage charges Oliver and puts the boots to him and catches him with a running neckbreaker. He covers and Jordan kicks out after a long two. Gage goes for the kill with a 2nd rope piledriver. Jordan’s foot is on the rope and Nick gives the ref a hair raising glare. Gage drags Oliver out of the ring and suplexes him on the floor. Gage calls to Wes. "Biscuit, where's my pizza cutter?!" Gage goes to work on Jordan with the slicer. The ref tries to get Gage to desist but Nick continues slicing away until Oliver leaks blood. The ref calls for the bell and Gage is disqualified.
Winner: Jordan Oliver
Nick doesn’t seem to care about the decision and pulls Oliver back into the middle of the ring. Jordan is on his knees as Gage looms and pulls his hair back so Oliver is looking into his face. “Take it,” Gage growls as he indicates a belt loop on his pants. Jordan spits at him and Gage smashes his fist into his face. “I said take it, motherf-!”
Jordan tries blinking the blood from his eyes, sneers and raises two middle fingers to Gage's face. “F- you!”
Gage starts stomping him. He pulls Jordan off of the mat. “Let’s try this again…”
Before Gage can go any further, Wes steps up and shoves Jordan out of the way. The crowd goes silent.
Joe: “That’s it, Wes! Stand up to him!”
Gage has murder in his eyes and the crowd is expecting one to go down. Instead, Wes reaches out and takes Gage’s belt loop.
Joe: “Oh, Wes. Nooo.”
Gage chuckles slightly and regards Oliver’s prone form on the canvas. He spits at him then turns and raises his hands victoriously as the crowd cheers.
Joe: “Okay. We’re not showing any more of this. My apologies, fans. I have some things to think about. Um… Joe Dombrowski signing off.”

Always impressed with your content and presentation, my friend... Even when the dice give you a result that you weren't expecting (or wanting - and I know there's gotta be at least a couple), you figure out a way to further your angles... Veidt is becoming a very intriguing character and it's cool that the Masterpiece was able to earn a victory over such an imposing opponent... You've also got me to absolutely despise Gage -- Which I'm certain is the point of the story... Very well done!

You've also got me to absolutely despise Gage -- Which I'm certain is the point of the story... Very well done! Thanks Pariah . I do my best to not have particular aspects of my storytelling be at the mercy of the dice. But still it happens at times. The title of this show was meant to be portentous of upcoming angles, with three key players present during this event. Orin Veidt was one of them. But I've said too much... The Nick Gage story is about to reach a crescendo as we move towards closing out the first year of PWIS' return. It's going to be interesting to see where the pieces from that explosion land once the dust settles.
