Video footage backstage following Armageddon Soon
Jordan Oliver is in the dressing room fervently stuffing his gear into a gym bag. He is muttering to himself. Joe Dombrowski approaches.
"Jordan. I wanted to check and see how you were doing. I know that..."
Jordan stands and turns to Joe with such alarm that Joe takes a step back.
"What the hell was that, Joe?! I ain't here trying to have guys like Nick Gage make me his punk."
"Jordan, I apologize. Things have gotten out of hand and..."
Jordan holds a hand up, cutting Joe off.
"You know what? I don't really care. I'm out of here."
Jordan grabs his bag and heads for the exit.
"Jordan, wait. Jordan!"
Joe slumps despondently as he watches Jordan walk out the door, not looking back.

Video footage backstage during Armageddon Soon
In the dressing room, Matt Cardona is visibly upset and kicks over a nearby chair.
“I am getting so sick of these guys getting over on us! They’re nobodies. This should be our show.”
Cardona paces back and forth, hands on hips.
“Hey, Matt.” Cardona turns to see his tag team partner Brian Myers enter the room. “Look who I ran into.”
Stepping around Myers is a diminutive man wearing a big smile.
“Swoggle! Buddy!” Cardona bellows in greeting. “What are you doing here?”
“Me and Swoggle have been talking,” explains Myers. “We have an idea.”
“I’m listening...” Cardona replies with growing interest.
Later that night
Chris Masters is in the dressing room toweling off after his match. Cardona and Myers come in.
“Hey, man,” Cardona begins. “Great job putting away that big goon out there tonight.”
“Yeah, thanks,” answers Masters, who has something else on his mind. “Did you guys see that crap they tried to pull tonight? Putting me in a hardcore match with that psycho.”
“I know. But relax big guy. We got someone you're gonna wanna talk to. I think you’re going to like this."
Swoggle steps in and waves at Chris with a nervous smile. Masters' eyes bulge with anger and he reaches to grab Swoggle. “I oughta tear your freakin' head off!”
Cardona and Myers hold him back as Swoggle hides behind them.
“Wait wait,” Cardona insists. "I know you're pissed about what he did but you know those crappy promoters put him up to it.” Swoggle nods insistently. “Give him a chance. He’ll be useful.”
“He’s been to the show…” Myers adds.
Masters considers this but shakes his head. “Uh, uh. No way is this guy joining us.”
“Who do you think slipped you that chair from under the ring during your match tonight?” proffers Cardona.
Masters looks at Swoggle. “That was you?”
Swoggle nods excitedly pointing to himself, grinning.
“I don’t know.” Masters is still skeptical.
“He can help us,” Cardona reassures him.
“Alright. We’ll see what he can do…”
“Yeah-haa! That’s what I’m talking about!”
Masters gives him a dubious look before turning to leave. Myers and Swoggle high five.

Your social media posts are a great way of building up rivalries and upcoming shows. Great stuff. Thanks, Crue. The social media format gives me a lot of flexibility in how I present interviews, vignettes, etc. In particular, I can stretch them out over time, letting me insert ideas as they come to me.

Pop-Up Pre-Show #5: Freelance Wrestling Emporium Logan Square
Chicago, IL September 2, 2022Commentary: Joe Dombrowski
Ring Announcer: Joe Dombrowski
Referee: Jake Clemons
All matches contested under Level 1 Rules (strict).
Joe: “Hello, everyone. Joe Dombrowski here for Pro Wrestling Independent Spirit with another pop-up event. This time we come to you from Chicago, teaming up with our friends at Freelance Wrestling. With that, let’s go to our opening contest.”
Matt Knicks vs. Jack Cartwheel
Joe: “Freelance Wrestling’s Matt Knicks should be a good test for up-and-comer Jack Cartwheel who is looking to prove himself as he tries to make it onto the PWIS roster.”
Knicks and Cartwheel jockey for the advantage. Cartwheel strings together some acrobatic offense and plants Knicks with a powerbomb for a count of two. Cartwheel is looking to go home early as he mounts the turnbuckle for a Red Arrow. However, the veteran Knicks gets a shoulder up at two. Jack looks to the crowd for support as he goes to the top again. The fans are getting behind him despite his opponent being a local favorite. Cartwheel sticks the landing but Knicks kicks out again. Knicks attempts a comeback but Jack cuts him off. Hurricanrana by Cartwheel for a near fall. Cartwheel with a slick Slamstand. This time the count reaches three. Cartwheel with the win.
Joe: “Jack Cartwheel continues to impress.”
Winner: Jack Cartwheel
Kylie Rae vs. Hyan
Joe: “Hyan is someone PWIS has had our eye on. She has a test in front of her as she takes on Chicago's’ own - Kylie Rae.”
Kylie puts Hyan through her paces. A superkick sets up a crossface that has Hyan reaching for the ropes. Kylie keeps the pressure on and levels Hyan with a running uppercut. Cover for a near fall. Hyan catches Kylie with a knee lift that drops her and follows with a big leg drop. Hyan climbs to the top turnbuckle but Kylie hops up and brings her down with a superplex. Kylie applies the crossface again. Hyan escapes but gets blasted by another running uppercut. Kylie goes for her Smile To The Finish submission. Hyan barely gets the rope break. Kylie continues to wear down Hyan with the crossface. A Hyan comeback is cut short and Kylie scores with a superkick for the pin.
Joe: “Hyan showed heart but it looked like she was outclassed here tonight.”
Winner: Kylie Rae
The camera turns to Joe at the commentary position where he has an announcement for the viewing audience.
Joe: “Our next show originates from Cleveland, Ohio. We have a great line up planned with PWIS Champion Willie Mack in action. Tickets are on sale or you can join us here on PWIS-TV. Then we go to Atlanta for a two night event starting with Spirit of Unity. We will be bringing back the #1 Contender Round Robin Tournament where three participants from our partner promotions are invited to compete for a future title shot. And we’re announcing right here that the first entrant is Black Label Pro’s Jake Something. Then on day two we will have a special Halloween show hosted by none other than Danhausen. Follow us on social media for more announcements regarding these three shows. Now let’s get to the ring and our feature match.”
Tony Deppen vs. Cole Radrick
This match gets off to a scrappy start with both men getting their shots in. Some action outside of the ring. Radrick goes on a roll but Deppen shuts it down with a head butt to the chest. Back of Head K.O. Blow by Deppen. Radrick kicks out of the pin attempt. Deppen gets caught climbing the turnbuckles. Radrick back in control. Diving lariat. Cover for a short two. Deppen fires back. Slingshot senton. Cradle for two. Back out to the floor and Deppen gets in a chair shot. Running Knee Strike. Cole gets a shoulder up at the last moment. Back of Head K.O. Blow. That’s all she wrote. Three count and Deppen is victorious.
Joe: “Tony Deppen came out on top but Cole Radrick gave him a fight. We could be seeing more of Radrick down the road.”
Winner: Tony Deppen
After the match, Deppen is his usual surly self. He disrespects his opponent then gets into it with members of the crowd. Soon, Jack Cartwheel comes out and reminds Deppen that they have unfinished business. Deppen is dismissive of Jack but the fans have Cartwheel’s back and they heckle Tony until he’s had enough and leaves.
Joe: “Deppen and Cartwheel indeed have unfinished business from our last show and a rematch is scheduled for Cleveland. Until then, thanks for watching and goodnight.”

I like how you describe the action in small, straight-to-the-point sentences. I find that my anxiety over how I can captivate my audience actually blocks me from reporting my fed on here so I may have to pinch this!

I like how you describe the action in small, straight-to-the-point sentences. I find that my anxiety over how I can captivate my audience actually blocks me from reporting my fed on here so I may have to pinch this! I'm trying out something new with this style. My intent is to report the matches with a build of intensity. Earlier matches on the card may have drier, matter of fact sentences to a build up. The longer the show goes, the more staccato the description of the action can get. This is also very reliant on what the dice are doing for me and how exciting the match actually is. I see it as how a commentator may be calling the match. Actually, I got the idea to do it this way reading live match reporting on the internet sites where they have to keep up with what's going on in the ring, so they have to keep it short while also conveying some excitement. I'm still playing with it and I hope it provides a balance with the more descriptive passages in my reporting. As to your anxiousness with reporting, I've been there a time or two. Just find a style you like and work on that. People will read it or they won't. Just have fun with it. Thanks for commenting.

Mercer & Fulton make a wicked duo... I know that Masters & Myers have Been To The Show, but can they handle these monsters?
Also excited to see the Wizard King in action... Good times!
