Willie Mack talks with Joe Dombrowski
Joe: "Willie, you're going into Atlanta to make your first defense of the PWIS Championship against Manders. How familiar are you with your opponent?"
Willie: "I've never wrestled him before but I hear he's a real tough guy. It should be a good match."
Joe: "I wanted to talk to you about the Champion's Advantage..."
(Selina De La Renta sits down next to Willie)
Joe: "Selina, you're welcome to join us."
Selina: "I know, Joe. Continue."
Joe "Well, as I was about to ask, and your answer is by no means a commitment, if you had an idea of what you may choose as the match rules for your title defense."
Willie: "Well, Joe, I was thinkin' - Manders likes to fight, I like to fight, let's have some relaxed rules."
Selina: "Willie, no. What did we talk about? All of our title defenses will be under strict rules."
Joe: "All of them?! Come on, Selina..."
Selina: "All of them. Willie, you have to listen to me."
Willie: "All right, Selina, I hear you."
Joe: "Ok. So then..."
Selina: "No. We're done here. Let's go, Willie."
Joe: "Oh, okay then. Thank you two for your time."
Willie: "Peace."

Been To The Show vignette
Chris Masters and Brian Myers are finishing a workout.
Brian: "Man, I can't believe we have to go to this stupid Halloween thing. I thought this company wasn't into the comedy wrestling."
Masters wipes sweat off his brow with a towel.
Chris: "Yeah, well, one more way Bossman Joe is trying to make me look like a fool. One more thing he'll have to add to his list of regrets. Who is this Dancehouse guy anyway?"
Brian: "Some nerd. Who cares?"
The lights in the weight room suddenly go out, leaving Masters and Myers barely illuminated by ambient light.
Chris: "Whoa! What happened to the lights?"
Voice: "Hey, hey! Guys!"
Masters and Myers jump a little but try to look cool as Matt Cardona joins them.
Chris: "What's up with the lights? Why'd you turn them off."
Matt: "I didn't. He did. He likes it dark. I don't know."
Chris: "What? Who likes it dark? What are you talking about?"
Matt: "Him..."
Cardona points and Masters turns around to find a large figure in shadow standing behind him. Chris jumps back and puts his fists up.
Matt: "Relax! He's with us."
Chris: "What do you mean he's with us? Who is he?"
Matt: "He's been to the show..."
Masters looks to the figure, back to Cardona, then to Myers.
Chris: "Her too?"
A female figure, also in shadow, is standing next to Myers. She puts her arm around his shoulders and he recoils.
Matt: "Her too."
Myers is catching his breath. Masters nods and looks impressed. Cardona grins.
Matt: "Right?"
Chris: "It looks like we're gonna have a plus two to this Halloween party."

So much goodness going on here. I loved Orin Veidt's reaction after the DQ loss. Shane Mercer beasted his way to a win over Alex Kane. Calvin Tankman over Myron Reed was a fun big man versus smaller man bout. Nice win for Tankman.
As usual I enjoy the social media posts and it looks like Salina de la Renta is really in control of Da' Mack. I expect an implosion at some point. Looking forward to the Center Stage shows and of course Danhausen's Very Nice, Very Evil Halloween Party!

Spirit of Unity 2022 - Your Last Affront
Center Stage
Atlanta, GA October 28, 2022Commentary: Joe Dombrowski
Ring Announcer: Larry Legend
Referees: Jake Clemons, Aaron Noyes
All matches contested under Level 1 Rules (strict) unless otherwise stipulated.
Joe: ”We are live from Center Stage in Atlanta for Spirit of Unity 2022 - Your Last Affront. And the extended show title this year refers to our main event tonight. Nick Gage and Joshua Bishop have turned PWIS into a battleground. We were reluctant to sanction a match between these two due to the level of animosity involved but this was signed with the caveat that it will be only time that they face each other in PWIS. And if either of them initiate hostility against each other after this, they will receive a lifetime ban. Thus we are allowing this to be contested under Level 3 rules. This will be brought to a definitive conclusion. But this night isn’t just about the bad blood between Gage and Bishop. Spirit of Unity is intended to be a recognition of our partner promotions and the top talent throughout independent wrestling. So we are once again holding our traditional Spirit of Unity Invitational Round Robin Tournament. Three wrestlers will compete for a PWIS Championship title shot in January. With that being said, let’s go down to Larry Legend for the first round robin match-up."
Round Robin Match #1 Jake Something vs. Angel Ortiz
Joe: “Ortiz is here representing Beyond Wrestling and Jake Something comes to us from Black Label Pro.”
Ortiz steps up to Something and starts a funky dance then slaps him across the face. Jake no-sells the slap and Ortiz knows he’s made a mistake. Jake hurls Ortiz into the buckles and hits him with a corner spear. Ortiz doubles over. Ortiz slides under an Ode to Vader and on the rebound the two collide with double down clotheslines. Ortiz recovers first and gives Something a DVD Bomb and gets a two count. Some back and forth, Ortiz blasted by a lariat to the back of the head. This time Ode to Vader wipes Ortiz out. Something’s size advantage is becoming a factor. Ortiz gets some shots in but gets planted by a Fire Thunder Driver. Something Bomb. Ortiz is getting crushed. MFKR! Jake pins Ortiz.
Winner: Jake Something
Masha Slamovich vs. Jody Threat
Joe: “Masha Slamovich gets her first official booking in PWIS after assertively letting us know she wants a chance to show us what she’s got.”
The bell rings and Slamovich remains in her corner leaning against the turnbuckle. Threat waits for her at the center of the ring. Masha shakes her head and and un-enthusiastically approaches her opponent. Lock up and Masha sends Jody into the ropes. Threat reverses with a DDT which gets Masha’s attention. Threat turns up the heat with a barrage of kicks and suplexes punctuated by a pump kick that knocks Slamovich silly. Masha takes a couple of more big shots before powdering to the floor. Trying to push her advantage, Jody gives chase but takes a stunning shot. Masha gets fired up and angrily clears off the timekeepers table and pulls it out into open space. Up on the table, Masha puts Jody through it with a Red Star. Dragging Jody back into the ring for a White Night Driver. Kick out. Masha is not happy with the count. Spinning heel kick. Two! Masha gets in the ref’s face. It gets ugly as Masha opens up with brutal offense. Threat reverses with a German suplex. Cover and near fall. Threat gaining momentum. Spear! Two! Masha escapes to the floor again once again luring Jody into an engagement she doesn’t win. White Night Driver. 1-2-3. Masha’s hand is raised and she rips it away from the ref’s grip. Masha helps Jody up and has something to say to her. Jody listens and nods. Joe: “Slamovich does not disappoint. I think she could be a welcome addition to the PWIS roster.”
Winner: Masha Slamovich
Round Robin Match #2 AC Mack vs. Angel Ortiz
Joe: “Ortiz hasn’t had a lot of time to recover from that punishing first match. We’ll have to see how much that affects him in this go around.”
At the lock up, Ortiz tries to bite Mack who backs off. “What the hellll?” Mack responds with a jumping heel kick. He gets things going but Ortiz catches him with a counter piledriver. DVD Bomb. Mack kicks out at one. “The Funky Monkey” whips out the dance moves. And slap. Ortiz gets things going with some frenetic offense. Mack holds his hand up. “Stop!” Then starts talking trash and gives Ortiz an eye poke. Mack attacks with a flurry of his own. Mack 10! Quick kick out by Ortiz. Spinning DDT and a near fall. Mack 10 again. Shoulder up at two. Third Mack 10. Pin!
Joe: “Ortiz falls to 0-2. It will be Mack and Jake Something contending for a title opportunity.”
Winner: AC Mack
Larry: “All right ladies and gentlemen let’s keep the ball rolling here.”
Lee Moriarty vs. Thom Latimer
During the introductions, the bigger Latimer encroaches on Moriarty’s corner as a bullying tactic. Moriarty isn’t intimidated and takes the first shot, rocking Latimer.
Joe: “Moriarty has been on a slide the last few months. He’s trying to get back on track but Thom Latimer isn’t going to make that easy.”
Moriarty goes to the ropes. Sunset flip but Latimer drops his weight and has Lee in pinning position for a two count. Thom delivers some hard blows and drops Moriarty on his head with Number of the Beast. Latimer hoists Moriarty up for The Brighter Side of Suffering. Two count. Lee dodges a charging Latimer and puts on a dynamic technical display. Tornado DDT and cover. Thom easily kicks out. Taigadriver X. Cradle for two. A pair of seated double stomps and cover again. Only one. Moriarty is trying pinning combinations but is having trouble with Latimer’s size. Hammerlock DDT, hook a leg, shoulder up at just before three. Latimer slows down Lee for a bit but eventually has to roll out of the ring to gather himself. Moriarty is soon right back on top of him, literally, after a Taigadriver X. Another near fall. Mousetrap Pin. 1-2- Moriarty slyly slaps on Joint Custody as Thom kicks out. Latimer has to tap out. Thom is angry but grudgingly shakes Lee’s hand when it’s offered. But there is fire in Latimer’s eyes as he does so.
Winner: Lee Moriarty
Round Robin Match #3 Jake Something vs. AC Mack
Joe: “AC Mack hails from right here in Atlanta and is most closely associated with the ACTION Wrestling promotion. It’s all on the line right here.”
Something takes exception to some of the fans who are supporting Mack. As he turns his attention back to Mack he gets surprised by a no look crossbody. However, Jake catches Mack’s arm mid-swing and hefts him up and puts him down with a Fire Thunder Driver. Two count. MFKR! Near fall! MFKR again! OMG! Pinfall! Jake stands and glares at Mack’s rooting section. He drags his vanquished opponent under the ropes and dumps him in the laps of the front row fans.
Joe: “That’s domination. It looks like Jake Something is the new number one contender to the PWIS Championship, whomever may have it come the New Year.”
Winner: Jake Something
PWIS CHAMPIONSHIP Willie Mack (c) w/Selina De La Renta vs. 1 Called Manders Level 1 Rules (strict)
Champion and challenger shake hands before the contest. Willie gets the best of the opening skirmish but Manders quickly turns the tide with a bone rattling Iowa Stampede. Willie rolls out of the ring where Selina gives him encouragement. Manders stays on top of the champion and brings him hard to the mat with another Iowa Stampede and goes for the cover. Mack kicks out at two. Manders throws Mack between the ropes. The big cowboy goes out after Willie but Mack is ready for him. Receiving instruction from Selina, Willie pulls up a piece of barricade and props it against the apron and slams Manders against it with an exploder suplex. Back in the ring, Willie continues to roll leading up to a Five Star Frog Splash. Two count on Manders. With determination, Willie goes to the top again for another Five Star Frog Splash and another near fall. Selina is letting the ref know what she thinks of his ability to count. Willie shoots Manders into the ropes, Pop-Up Stunner! Manders kicks out at two. Willie hits Manders twice with clotheslines from the top turnbuckle and goes up one more time for another Five Star Frog Splash. Kick out! Willie is started to look vexed. Manders struggles to his feet - Stunner! Kick out again! Willie puts his hands on his head in disbelief. Selina is on the apron upbraiding the referee. Manders takes some swings and connects a couple of times. As Willie shakes it off he is met with a Lariat. 2¾! Another Lariat. The ref goes for the count but Selina grabs his ankle for the distraction. Manders goes after Selina with his bull rope. Willie intercepts and gets clobbered instead. Manders and Willie collide coming off the ropes. Mack recovers to crush Manders in the corner with a Rip Tire Cannonball. The match is taking it’s toll on both men. 3-point stance shoulder tackle levels Willie. The ref checks on Mack as Manders winds up for another Lariat. Selina enters the ring and drops Manders with a low blow. Willie doesn’t capitalize as much as he could have and takes a piledriver counter from Manders. Lariat! 1-2-shoulder up! Both men are out of gas but still pushing. Willie rolls out of the ring. Manders pursues and gives Mack a chair shot. Manders goes to the top rope. He misses a moonsault. Ref bump! Who’s booking this crap? The two continue to fight in and out of the ring and it’s getting sloppy. Manders is getting a little steam and lands a big powerslam. As he makes the cover, the bell sounds. The 30 minute time limit has expired. Manders is distraught and can’t believe it. “I had him beat!” Selina rushes to her wrestlers side. With urgency, she hurries Willie out of the ring before… Too late. The chant for five more minutes goes up. Selina is shaking her head and leads the punch drunk champion from the ring area.
Joe: “Wow. We just witnessed two men pushed to the limit. I imagine we will see Manders petition for a rematch and I can guess how Selina De La Renta will respond.”
Time limit draw
PWIS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Ross & Marshall Von Erich(c) vs. The Philly Marino Experience
Joe: “This will be the Von Erichs first defense of the titles since winning them from Aussie Open back in July.”
As Marshall Von Erich heads to his corner, PME attack his brother Ross and deliver a Paisan elbow. Philly Collins goes for the pin. Ross kicks out at two. Philly keeps the pressure on with a White Water Landing and another cover. Two count again. Marino Tenaglia tags in and PME go for their Sunset Dreams finisher. Near fall! There’s an upset brewing. Marino hits a springboard blockbuster but Ross is able to make the hot tag. The Von Erichs combine for a double hip toss slam. Standing moonsault by Marshall has Marino tagging out. Philly gets slammed hard with a belly to belly suplex. Marshall goes up top and connects with a top rope cross body. Hooks the leg for two. Ross tags back in and the Von Erichs hit a double dropkick. Bicycle knee crumbles Collins. The champions use continuous team work on the isolated Collins. Marino comes back in. He doesn’t fair much better against Marshall. Ross back in. Tenaglia takes the advantage and Ross suffers a Smooth Move. Marino moves in for the pin. Near fall. So close! Von Erichs back in control and outpacing the challengers. PME double team Marshall. Great teamwork going on on both sides. Marshall with a discus clothesline on Collins for 2.9. Iron Claw! Tenaglia breaks it up. Ross tags in. Iron Claw/Back Suplex combo! Collins’ foot is on the ropes. Cannonball by Ross. Three count. Champions successfully defend. Joe: “PME puts up a fight but the Von Erichs showed why they are one of the best tag teams in the world.”
Winners: Von Erichs
There is nervous anticipation in the air. Larry isn’t in the ring to introduce the combatants. A pair of referees come to ringside but do not enter. In short time, Nick Gage’s music begins to play and the crowd gets amped. Gage comes up the ramp and takes in the moment. He goes up into the stands to greet his MDK gang members. After he makes his way to the ring, a meek Wes Barkley, with long, silky blond hair, shows up at the top of the ramp. Gage looks in his direction and scowls, shaking his head. “Uh, uh. Get back there.” Wes twitches a little and retreats. Gage paces the ring, eager for a fight. After a bit, he gets impatient. “Larry, get the f- over here.” Larry steps up and Gage demands a mic. “Okay, Josh Bishop. Where the f- are you?” After waiting a few moments more Gage continues. “Yeah, that’s what I thought. He f- pussed out. Smart. I don’t blame him.” Gage waits a bit longer and is about to step back through the ropes but noise from the crowd gets his attention. The silhouette of a tall man darkens one of the entrances. Joshua Bishop steps up the ramp and shoots a stone cold glare at Gage. Bishop is dressed in jeans, cowboy boots, a sleeveless plaid shirt, and a bandanna headband. Gage drops the mic and motions for Bishop to bring it. Josh pumps up and charges the ring.
Joe: “Here we go. I hope we haven’t made a mistake.”
Nick Gage vs. Joshua Bishop Level 3 Rules (no holds barred)
Bishop blocks Gage's opening salvo and blasts him with a big boot. Black Hole Slam and Gage is rocked. Bishop is thumping Gage but misses a second big boot and tumbles into the corner. Gage with a facewash. Stiff. Piledriver by Gage. Bishop clutches at his neck, wincing. Gage is on point. Second Piledriver. This is starting to look bad. Gage with a flying elbow drop. Bishop is having a hard time defending himself. Gage throws him out to the floor. Nick takes a chair offered by one of the fans and slams it over Bishop’s head. Josh goes down and when Gage pulls him back up, his face is bloody. Gage holds his head back by the hair, displaying his handiwork to the crowd. He shoves Josh back into the ring. Stalking like a predator, Gage halts and pulls out his pizza cutter and holds it up. The ravenous crowd take it up a notch. Gage goes to work with the cutter, giving the crowd on each side of the ring a good look. Bishop is drenched in blood and hanging on the bottom rope, barely cognizant. Senior referee Jake Clemons moves in to get a look at him but Gage lunges at him. “Back off motherf-!”
Gage stomps Bishop through the ropes and is right on his heels. As Nick reaches for his quarry, Bishop, with a desperation move, falls back, pulling Gage into the ring post. The bleary Gage crawls back into the ring and the rejuvenated Bishop has turned the tables. Crucifix Powerbomb. Gage bounces off the mat. He rolls back out of the ring and we get a brawl up into the stands. Gage gets the better of Josh who topples down the steps. Back in the ring, powerbomb by Gage. Joe: “This is getting hard to watch and… Wait a minute, is that… Orin Veidt?”
The camera gets a shot of Veidt who has surreptitiously taken a seat at ringside. He’s sitting calmly watching the match, smiling. He has some light tubes in his lap. Meanwhile Gage gets a little overconfident and tries to muscle Bishop and ends up getting powerslammed for his misstep. However, Bishop also misjudges and eats the post when Gage evades a charge in the corner. At this point, Orin Veidt has stood up and walks over to the corner where the action is taking place. He slides one of the light tubes under the ropes. Of course Gage notices this. “You like these don’t you?” Veidt good-naturedly proffers as he slides another tube into the ring. “Get the f f- out of here!” Gage barks at him. Orin steps back and holds his arms out and backs away, leaving Gage with his offering. Cage kicks the tubes out of the ring and they shatter on the floor. Veidt shrugs and goes back to his seat. Gage and Bishop fight some on the floor. Bishop doesn’t have a lot behind his strikes. Back in the ring, superplex by Gage. Even Gage is starting to slow a little. But…Chokebreaker. Bishop writhes on the mat. Outside the ring again, Bishop is able to post Gage once more. Chokeslam on the apron. Huge move from Bishop. Lariat from the apron. Gage is having some trouble. Some more battling in and out of the ring. Gage eats a chair shot from Bishop. Now Gage is leaking. Chokeslam. Bishop is getting his second wind. Gage gets tombstoned on a chair. Josh is slowing again and Gage takes advantage with a couple of fallaway slams. Gage with a Piledriver onto a chair. Chokebreaker. Chokebreaker. Piledriver. Both men collapse on the mat. The referees move in, hoping this is over. Gage struggles to push himself off of the mat. He gets to one knee. He’s breathing hard as blood and sweat drip from his face. He finally gets his feet under him and stands over Bishop. He nudges his prone opponent with his boot. No response. "What the f- were you thinkin’?” Gage tries to stand up straighter but stumbles and has to catch himself on the turnbuckle. The refs see their opening and get into the ring. One warily approaches Gage as the other checks on Bishop. More ring crew and security come out and it looks like this one is over. Wes Barkley shows himself again and helps convince Gage to leave. There is some resistance but Gage acquiesces. Barkley gives a fleeting glance over his shoulder to the fallen Bishop.
Winner: Nick Gage
Joe: “Thank God that’s over. I hope Joshua Bishop is okay. I’m glad we’ll never have to go through something like this again.”
The camera continues to follow the activity of getting Bishop out of the ring. A lot of fans are still watching as the clean up begins. The camera pans over them and the shot pauses on Orin Veidt standing among them smiling and clapping like a kid at the circus.
Stream ends.

Say what you will about the despicable Nick Gage, he certainly put on a helluva show in that No Holds Barred main event... Props to Bishop as well, who tried to stand up for his friend... Just looks like he bit off more than he could chew... And how about that surprise appearance by the Wizard King? Even though I have absolutely no idea where this quest is headed, I'm totally invested just the same.
Very cool that those VE boys were able to retain... While Manders and Da' Mack tore the house down... I think the champ was lucky to have Salina in his corner... Otherwise, those chants of 'five more minutes' might have stirred his pride and forced him to keep going... Which probably would not have been in his best interest at the time.
Nice work by Jake Something as he polished off the competition in rather dominant fashion... Can't wait to see him get his crack at the gold... Fun stuff, my friend... As always!
