The entire card for our return to Toronto plus all six Survival of the Fittest Qualifying matches confirmed! On our last show, Michael Elgin informed that he signed an open contract that Bryan Danielson sent to AIW for a Ring of Honor World Championship match. Elgin is no stranger to challenging for the ROH World Championship, having come up short against Davey Richards once and twice against Samoa Joe. Elgin wanted this match in Toronto because he feels the hometown advantage would give him just what he needed to win. That said, Bryan Danielson isn't ready to relinquish the title just yet. Can Elgin survive the American Dragon in Toronto? AJ Styles bested "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards in Boston to become the new Pure Wrestling Champion but his celebration was short lived, as he was challenged by a man who is no stranger to AJ Styles: Samoa Joe. Joe is fresh off a huge win over Christopher Daniels and is gunning for his second Ring of Honor Championship in Toronto. Generation Next have a lot on their plate right now. After defeating El Generico and Kevin Steen, they were attacked by OI4K, presumably for saving AR Fox and Rich Swann earlier in the night. Aries told OI4K that they can have a shot at the champions whenever they want, but ROH officials have confirmed that this particular match will not take place in Toronto. Generation Next will instead defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship against a team with considerable momentum in the Kings of Wrestling! Adam Cole staked his claim as being the better member of Future Shock at the Fourth Anniversary Show by knocking Kyle O'Reilly unconscious with a superkick to the back of the head. Cole then spat on O'Reilly's apparent new partner Bobby Fish, which did not sit quite well with the former Evolve headliner. Fish demanded a one-on-one match with Adam Cole in Toronto and the match has been signed. Can Fish avenge his new tag partner? At Final Battle, we saw the formation of a group Tyler Black has deemed the Age of the Fall. Despite his new group's formation, Black fell short of expectations when he lost to "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards. After winning a huge four corner survival in Boston, Black challenged Edwards to a rematch in Toronto and the match has been signed! The Briscoes are looking to get back into the ROH World Tag Team Championship picture and after losing to the Kings of Wrestling in Boston, are looking to bounce back as they take on the two newest members of Generation Next in AR Fox and Rich Swann. Kevin Steen and El Generico weren't the first targets of OI4K at Final Battle. They first made their presence felt by attacking "The Notorious 187" Homicide before his match with Matt Tremont. In Toronto, Homicide will team with Steen, Generico and a mystery partner as they take on OI4K in a Toronto street fight! Davey Richards came within inches of winning the ROH World Championship a second time on the last show in Boston. Richards had all the momentum in the world, coming off of defeats of the British Bulldogs, RVD and Sabu and most notably, Kazuchika Okada. In Toronto, he takes on the "Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa has been seen conversing with Truth Martini as of late...can we be seeing the formation of a new House of Truth? Card #42: "Northern Navigation": Toronto, ONT:ROH World Championship: Bryan Danielson (ch) vs. Michael Elgin ROH Pure Wrestling Championship: AJ Styles (ch) vs. Samoa Joe ROH World Tag Team Championship: Generation Next of Austin Aries and Roderick Strong (ch) vs. The Kings of Wrestling of Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli Adam Cole vs. Bobby Fish Final Battle IV Rematch: Tyler Black with Matt Tremont and Necro Butcher vs. Eddie Edwards Jay and Mark Briscoe vs. Generation Next of Rich Swann and AR Fox Toronto Street Fight: Kevin Steen, El Generico, Homicide and a mystery partner vs. OI4K Jon Moxley, Sami Callihan, Jake Crist and Dave Crist Davey Richards vs. Tommaso Ciampa ROH officials have begun to hammer out the details of the yearly Survival of the Fittest tournament. Eleven of the twelve tournament participants have been decided, with the twelfth spot going to the loser of the ROH World Championship match in Toronto. The winner of that match will take on CZW representative Drake Younger in Charlotte! Card #43: "Survival of the Fittest V": Charlotte, NC:Survival of the Fittest - Final: ROH World Championship: Winner of Elgin/Danielson (ch) vs. Drake Younger Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Adam Cole vs. AJ Styles Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Kevin Steen vs. Samoa Joe Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Christopher Daniels vs. Bobby Fish Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Davey Richards vs. Eddie Edwards Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Kyle O'Reilly vs. Tommaso Ciampa Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Loser of Danielson/Elgin vs. Cedric Alexander

Card #42: "Northern Navigation": Toronto, ONT:
[PRESHOW] Michael Elgin is shown standing in the ring. Elgin says that when he debuted in ROH four years ago on the first show, he was a different man. Elgin says that he was being lead around by Truth Martini and that he was being used to make sure that Roderick Strong won, and kept, the ROH World Championship. Elgin says that in those four years, he's challenged for the ROH World Championship three times unsuccessfully but promised that in front of his family tonight that it would all change and that he would become the ROH World Champion.
1.) Toronto Street Fight: OI4K of Jon Moxley, Sami Callihan, Jake Crist and Dave Crist beat Kevin Steen, El Generico, Homicide and Eddie Kingston in 22:39 when Callihan used the Stretch Muffler on Homicide. [***1/2] 2.) Davey Richards beat Tommaso Ciampa via disqualification in 7:00 when Drew Gulak, Uhaa Nation and Mike Bennett attacked Richards. After the match, Truth Martini made his way out with Scarlett Bordeaux, Maria Kanellis and Kasey Ray and announced that Gulak, Ciampa, Nation and Bennett were the new House of Truth.
[BACKSTAGE] Generation Next are shown in the locker room. Austin Aries says that tonight, Fox and Swann take on the Briscoes in a match that could potentially land a tag title shot for the Briscoes. Aries says that Fox and Swann are tasked with keeping the Briscoes, and all the other teams in ROH, away from the Tag Titles. Swann says Aries has nothing to worry about, they picked the right men for the job.
3.) Jay and Mark Briscoe beat Generation Next of Rich Swann and AR Fox in 8:30 when Jay used a Jay Driller on Fox. [***] 4.) Final Battle IV Rematch: Tyler Black with Matt Tremont and Necro Butcher beat Eddie Edwards in 7:34 with a Phoenix Splash. Necro Butcher distracted the ref, allowing Tremont to hit a sitout powerbomb on Edwards to set up the finish. [*3/4] 5.) ROH World Tag Team Championship: Generation Next of Austin Aries and Roderick Strong (ch) beat The Kings of Wrestling of Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli in 24:45 when Strong used Death By Roderick on Castagnoli. [****1/4]
[INTERMISSION] Davey Richards is shown in the trainer's room. He says he thought he finished off the House of Truth years ago, but apparently he was wrong. Davey says that if Truth's found another band of losers to follow him, Davey will kick some sense into them just like he did with Elgin and Rhino. Bobby Fish walks in and says that Davey's anger towards the House of Truth, while justified, is better directed towards Adam Cole, who knocked Kyle O'Reilly out in Boston and disrespected everything that Davey stands for. Davey says that Kyle's business isn't his business and that he's got Bobby to take care of it now.
[INTERMISSION] Tyler Black is with the Age of the Fall in the back. Black says he's pissed off that he's been overlooked by the ROH management and won't be in Survival of the Fittest. Black talks about how the company has been against him from day one but tonight, he picked up a victory over a two title champion. Black says that he signed one of Danielson's open contracts sent to AAW and will meet the champion at "No Way Out" in Dayton.
[INTERMISSION] Nigel McGuinness joins us from his office and says that the open contracts are coming in from all over the world and that Bryan Danielson, or whoever the ROH World Champion is, has quite a full dance card coming up. Of course, at the next show in Charlotte, Drake Younger will challenge for the ROH World Championship. Nigel then officially confirms that at "Motown Showdown" in Detroit, Chikara's Jigsaw will challenge for the ROH World Championship and at "Death Before Dishonor V" in Vorhees, New Jersey, that Ricochet from Dragon Gate USA would challenge the champion. Nigel finished up the announcements by saying that at "Best in the World" in Philadelphia, the ROH World Championship would be defended against Wrestling Observer Hall of Famer "Macho Man" Randy Savage!
6.) Adam Cole beat Bobby Fish in 14:36 with the Panama Sunrise. [***] 7.) ROH Pure Wrestling Championship: AJ Styles (ch) beat Samoa Joe in 18:54 with the Calf Killer. Joe used all three rope breaks, AJ used two. After the match, Christopher Daniels attacked AJ. [***3/4] 8.) ROH World Championship: Bryan Danielson (ch) beat Michael Elgin in 21:16 with Cattle Mutilation. Danielson offered Elgin a handshake after the match, but Elgin left the ring. [****1/2]
[POST SHOW] Nigel McGuinness brings us the final update for this DVD, saying that while the specifics haven't been worked out quite yet, in the near future ROH should have a blockbuster main event announcement for Glory By Honor V in Indianapolis and tells the fans to stay tuned to all ROH releases and the newswires so they don't miss this huge announcement.

Danielson takes on Drake Younger, Generation Next defend against three challengers, Age of the Fall team up for the first time and twelve men vie for a ROH World Championship shot!:Bryan Danielson successfully defended his ROH World Championship against Michael Elgin in Toronto. This marked Danielson's second successful defense of the title but also another step in a long, hard road for the ROH World Champion. Danielson's open contracts are coming back to ROH, signed by the top competitors in professional wrestling. In Charlotte, Danielson looks to make it defense number three against Drake Younger. Whoever wins this match has a hard road ahead of them, with scheduled defenses against Jigsaw, Ricochet, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Tyler Black with more matches still to be announced. Generation Next are in a similar situation as Bryan Danielson as they find themselves being challenged by nearly every team in Ring of Honor. In Charlotte, they put their titles on the line against OI4K's Irish Airborne, the Briscoes and the Kings of Wrestling! Can Generation Next survive their third defense of the Tag Team Championship? Tyler Black will lead his Age of the Fall group into battle for the first time as the group takes on North Carolina's own Caprice Coleman as he teams with Jay Lethal and ACH! What kind of madness with Black, Tremont and Necro have in store for their opponents? Twelve men have been granted entrance into the annual Survival of the Fittest tournament. [PRESHOW] Drake Younger is in the CZW locker room at their last show. [INTERMISSION] Bryan Danielson says that he respects Drake Younger and while he can appreciate that tonight isn't about ROH vs. CZW, Younger will find out who the best wrestler in the world is because Bryan is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his championship. Danielson says that Drake will tap and he will go back to CZW defeated, knowing that he lost the biggest match of his career to the best wrestler in the world. [INTERMISSION] Adam Cole is in the locker room. He talks about winning Survival of the Fittest three years ago and that it lead him to not one, but two World Championship matches where Davey Richards couldn't pull the trigger and put him away. Cole says that since then, he entered into a tag team where he carried Kyle O'Reilly's ass for over a year and now he's back on his own and he's going to prove that he is the best. AJ challenges Cole to a match in Detroit. 9.) ROH World Championship: Bryan Danielson (ch) beat Drake Younger in 16:14 with the Crossface Chickenwing. Danielson's open contract policy leads him into battle with Chikara's finest, Generation Next take on New Japan's top stars and AJ Styles gets Adam Cole in Detroit!Bryan Danielson, in his quest to prove that he is the best wrestler in the world, sent open contracts to every promotion on the planet and one of the first companies to answer the call was Chikara. Mike Quackenbush decided that sending just a regular Chikara wrestler wouldn't do, so he's sending his longtime tag team partner Jigsaw! Jigsaw is no stranger to ROH, in fact, he defeated two-time Survival of the Fittest winner Adam Cole four years ago at Unity! Given his proven ability to beat the best ROH has to offer, you have to believe that Jigsaw is looking to shock the wrestling world in Detroit! Nigel McGuinness made the huge announcement on the last DVD release that New Japan Pro Wrestling were sending Forever Hooligans to Detroit to take on whoever the ROH World Tag Team Champions are, and we know now that the Hooligans will take on Generation Next of Aries and Strong! These are two of the very best tag teams in the world today, who will leave Motown with tag team gold? AJ Styles suffered what many thought to be a minor neck injury at the hands of Adam Cole at Survival of the Fittest V. Despite any injury he might have sustained, Styles made it perfectly clear that he's capable of competing and that he wanted a shot at Adam Cole in Detroit. Nigel McGuinness waited for the all-clear from AJ's doctors and the match has been signed! It will be Styles vs. Cole II in Detroit! Stay tuned for more match announcements as ROH gets closer to our huge return to Detroit! Dem Boys take on the Killers, Joe and Elgin look to settle the score, Wolves take on the Kings in singles action and OI4K faces Steen and Generico in Detroit!:At Survival of the Fittest, the Briscoes and Irish Airborne were part of a scramble match for the ROH World Tag Team Championship that was eventually won by reigning champions Austin Aries and Roderick Strong. Both teams have a claim to being the top contenders in ROH and in Detroit, the two teems will clash with a shot at the gold at "Best in the World" in Philadelphia! Samoa Joe defeated Michael Elgin twice during his ROH World Championship reign last year, but at Survival of the Fittest V, Elgin was the cause of Joe being the first wrestler eliminated from the Survival of the Fittest final. Joe has had a shaky year to this point, going 2-2 overall and hopes to change that in Toronto when he takes on Michael Elgin for the third time. The Kings of Wrestling solidified themselves as the top contenders to the ROH World Tag Team Championship, but due to scheduling conflicts with Forever Hooligans, had their Championship rematch pushed back to Death Before Dishonor V. In Detroit, they will meet another top tag team in ROH, The American Wolves, in singles action as Hero squares off with Davey Richards and Claudio Castagnoli takes on Eddie Edwards! Also, in a special tag match, Jon Moxley makes his ROH in-ring debut, teaming with Sami Callihan to take on Kevin Steen and El Generico. Can Steen and Generico get their revenge on OI4K for what started back at Final Battle? We'll find out in Detroit! Card #44: "Motown Showdown": Detroit, MI:ROH World Championship: Bryan Danielson (ch) vs. Jigsaw ROH World Tag Team Championship: Generation Next of Austin Aries and Roderick Strong (ch) vs. Forever Hooligans of Alex Koslov and Rocky Romero Non-Title Grudge Match: Adam Cole vs. AJ Styles Jay and Mark Briscoe vs. OI4K of Jake and Dave Crist Samoa Joe vs. Michael Elgin Chris Hero vs. Davey Richards Claudio Castagnoli vs. Eddie Edwards Kevin Steen and El Generico vs. OI4K of Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan Card #45: "Death Before Dishonor V": Voorhees, NJROH World Championship: X (ch) vs. Ricochet ROH World Tag Team Championship: X and X (ch) vs. The Kings of Wrestling of Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli Card #46: "Best in the World": Philadelphia, PAROH World Championship: X (ch) vs. Randy Savage Card #47: "No Way Out": Dayton, OHROH World Championship: X (ch) vs. Tyler Black

When asked why he didn't put the belt on the line, Styles says that Cole didn't earn a shot and that Cole is a disgrace to those who consider themselves pure wrestlers. AJ says that tonight he'll repay everything to Adam Cole and there won't be a World Championship match in Cole's future. [PRESHOW] Mike Quackenbush arrives to the building with Jigsaw. Quack explains that tonight is a huge opportunity for Jigsaw and that Jigsaw could put Chikara on the map tonight by beating Bryan Danielson. [***3/4] 2.) Claudio Castagnoli beat Eddie Edwards in 8:54 with Swiss Death. [***] 3.) OI4K of Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan beat Kevin Steen and El Generico via countout in 12:46. Jay and Mark Briscoe beat OI4K of Jake and Dave Crist in 9:29 with a Spike Jay Driller on Dave. [***1/4] 5.) Samoa Joe beat Michael Elgin in 15:55 with the Muscle Buster. [***1/2] [INTERMISSION] Tyler Black and Age of the Fall are shown in a basement type setting. Black says that Ring of Honor has overlooked them since their debut, keeping them out of Survival of the Fittest and not making them part of every show. Black says their mission is to destroy ROH and since ROH doesn't want to open up and let them in, they'll just kick the door in at Death Before Dishonor V. [INTERMISSION] Adam Cole is in the locker room. Cole notes that the last time he lost a fall in Ring of Honor was the finals of Survival of the Fittest last year. Cole says that he's beaten the best wrestlers in the world consistently since arriving in ring of Honor and tonight, he hands AJ Styles his second loss in ROH. [INTERMISSION] Jay and Mark Briscoe are in the parking lot and say that they've got to wait two shows to get their tag title shot, so why not take the time to finish off OI4K in Vorhees? Jay challenges Moxley and Callihan to a match at Death Before Dishonor V and says they'll run them off for good. 6.) Non-Title Grudge Match: Adam Cole beat AJ Styles in 17:33 with the Panama Sunrise. [****1/2] 8.) ROH World Championship: Bryan Danielson (ch) beat Jigsaw in 19:18 with a Crossface Chickenwing. [****] [POST SHOW] Nigel McGuinness is in his office with an update on AJ Styles. Nigel says that AJ's neck is fine and that he'll be cleared to compete at Death Before Dishonor V when he'll put his Pure Wrestling Championship on the line against Christopher Daniels. Nigel also addresses Samoa Joe's actions from earlier in the night, saying that Joe has called him demanding a match with Adam Cole and the two will meet in Vorhees at Death Before Dishonor V! Nigel says that given the circumstances of the situation, with Cole's actions and deliberately trying to end AJ's career, Joe has requested the match be held under Fight Without Honor rules and Nigel has granted his request!
