Slymm....I know that post is like a month old, but Thank You! I kinda booked myself into a corner when it came to The Shard, and I knew I had to explain my way out of it. I just sat down and started writing, and that's what came out. Really glad you like it!

CHIKARA EVENT CENTER:
WAR DAWN

In the Main Event of the evening, Jay and Mark Briscoe defend the Campeones De Parejas against the team of Tim Donst and Jakob Hammermeier. Will the last remnants of the BDK be able to co-exist long enough to capture the gold, or will The Briscoe Brothers continue their domination of the tag team scene all across the Unites States.


In singles competition, The Shard looks to prove himself and his loyalty to Chikara, and he will do so against the found himself, "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush.


In a tag team match nearly a year in the making, Gran Akuma returns to Chikara after searching the world for a partner to stand beside him. He and his partner will go to war with his former stable FIST consisting of former teammate Chuck Taylor, and the man who replaced him Johnny Gargano. Points will be on the line, but revenge will be on the mind.


Four rookies make their Chikara debut, and they do it in an elimination match. The pompous and arrogant Juan Francisco De Coronado takes on "The Intergalactic Luchadora" Saturyne, The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger, and the newest member of The Throwbacks, "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti.


In tag team action with points toward title contention on the line, "Big Magic" Shane Matthews and Scott "Jagged" Parker of 3.0 will take on members of the PWG contingent in Nick and Matt Jackson, The Young Bucks!


In what is sure to be a Trios war, Ultramantis Black, Hallowicked, and Frightmare: The Spectral Envoy will take on "The Dark Overlord" Delirious and Batiri members Obariyon and Kodama who will be accompanied to ringside by Kobald and the former Director of Fun, Dr. Cube


In tag team action, two teams of favorites will compete for points toward title contention. Fire Ant and Soldier Ant of The Colony will square off with Dasher Hatfield and Sugar Dunkerton.


In a Survivor Style Elimination match, members of the Chikara Roster and members of the PWG Roster will collide! Can Chikara neutralize the invaders before they can gain a foothold in Chikara, or will PWG establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in this promotional war!!

In the Main Event of the Evening, Hallowicked and Frightmare of The Spectral Envoy cash in their 3 Points for a shot at the Campeones De Parejas. The question is whether or not they will be facing The Briscoe Brothers of the team of Tim Donst and Jakob Hammermeier.


Whichever team left "War Dawn" without the gold, will find themselves standing across the ring from Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks. Once more, the questions is whether or not they will be facing The Briscoe Brothers of the team of Tim Donst and Jakob Hammermeier.


The "Dark Overlord" of Dr. Cube's army, Delirious will step into the ring for singles action, and he will do so against The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger. Can the newcomer overcome the fury of Delirious?


In Trios action, Icarus, Chuck Taylor, and Johnny Gargano of FIST will take on the new trio of The Throwbacks consisting of Dasher Hatfield, Sugar Dunkerton, and "Mr Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti.


In four corners elimination tag team action with points in play, Obariyon and Kodama of The Batiri will take on Scott Parker and Shane Matthews of 3.0, Fire Ant and Soldier Ant of The Colony, and Gran Akuma with his new partner. One team could conceivably walk out with a title shot!!


In singles action the high flying "Intergalactic Luchadora" Saturyne will take on the cocky and arrogant Juan Francisco De Coronado.


In trios action, Joey Ryan, Adam Cole, and Drake Younger of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla will take on Team Chikara of Grand Champion Jigsaw, "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush, and The Shard.


In a four way elimination match with a shot at the Chikara Grand Championship on the line, Ultramantis Black will square off with "The War King" Eddie Kingston, Sami Callihan, and Green Ant. One of these four men will receive a shot at Jigsaw and the Chikara Grand Championship at "The Dweller in the Depths"

After Gavin Loudspeaker finished his Chikara Season 12 Premiere song, Leonard F. Chikarason came to the ring and briefly recapped the events that led to former Director of Fun Wink Vavvaseur being revealed as the evil Dr. Cube. He then stated that Chikara officials had decided upon a new Director of Fun. The fans in attendance went crazy thinking it was LFC returning to his job, but Leonard informed them that was not the case. LFC would instead be serving as the public voice of the Director of Fun, who was chosen to not reveal his identity at this time. Until such time as he chose to make his presence known, LFC would deliver his announcements to the Chikarmy, since he is a face they trust. The first announcement comes now, as the first two teams for Tag World Grand Prix will be......The Soul Touchaz, and the team of......Paul London and Brian Kendrick!!!


1) -Four Corner's Rookie Round-Up-
Saturyne vs "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti vs Juan Fransisco De Coronado vs The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger

Elimination #1: At the seven minute mark, The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger connected with a spectacular Flying Leg Drop that actually knocked Juan Fransisco De Coronado completely unconscious. The action was temporarily stopped as JFDC was helped to the back.

Elimination #2: At the fourteen minute mark, The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger had been dominating Saturyne for several minutes. He whipped her into the buckle and followed in with a clothesline, but Saturyne leapt up and over him, causing The Stranger to crash hard into the buckle, Saturyne then rolled him up and covered the stunned masked man for the 1-2-3.

Elimination #3: At the eighteen minute mark, Saturyne had Mr. Touchdown on the mat and climbed to the top turnbuckle to attempt a high risk finish. Mr. Touchdown was however playing possum, and tossed her hard off the turnbuckle. As soon as she got back to her feet, he grabbed her and put her back down with the Extra Point. After that the three count was guaranteed.

Winner: Mr. Touchdown


2) The Colony vs The Throwbacks

This match was a twenty five minute barn burner. The early stages of the match saw Soldier Ant manage to kick out of not only Air Dunkerton, but also the Grandslam Dunk. Another pin attempt on Soldier brought Fire Ant into the ring, which then brought Dasher Hatfield into the ring and both teams lost their cool, brawling for a solid two minutes. Eventually Soldier and Dasher were sent out of the ring. Fire Ant took over on Sugar, and The Colony were able to connect with Ants Go Marching, but Hatfield broke up the pin, and Sugar rolled from the ring. The end came when Dasher Hatfield nailed Fire Ant with the suicide squeeze, and held onto it for the 1,2,3.

The Throwbacks have 1 Point toward title contention.


3) The Spectral Envoy vs Delirious & The Batiri w/Dr. Cube and Kobald

The action started very quickly with Hallowicked connecting with the Graveyard Smash on Obariyon in less than a minute. A brawl between all six competitors broke out when Kodama attempted to make the save, but referee Dan Yost was able to regain control quickly. The match continued with all six men tagging in and out and really wearing one another down. The end came at the sixteen minute mark, when Frightmare hit a cross body block that sent himself and Kodama over the ropes and to the floor. Hallowicked entered the ring and blasted Obariyon with a huge Yakuza kick that sent him sailing across the mat and he rolled to the floor. Delirious was in instantly and hit a huge dropkick into the back of 'Wicked that sent him hard into the ropes. He crashed to the mat and rolled to the floor, which allowed Ultramantis Black to enter the ring and stare down Delirious. The two of them immediately went at one another with fury. The Batiri, Hallowicked, and Frightmare continued to brawl on the floor, and for a moment referee Dan Yost turned his attention to them, which allowed Kobald to slide into the ring. Mantis shook off a slap from Kobald, kicked him in the gut, and drilled him with Praying Mantis Bomb. It was however enough of a distraction to Mantis that he never saw Delirious accept a foreign object from Dr. Cube, which he would then use to KO Ultramantis and cover him for the pinfall.

Winners: Delirious and The Batiri


4) "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush vs The Shard

The Shard immediately took the center of the ring and offered his hand to Mike Quackenbush. Quack looked to the crowd and based on the reaction, shook the hand of his masked opponent. The match started hot and heavy with Quack using his experience to avoid and counter things that The Shard tried to do to him. Quack then went to work with his technical prowess and went from hold to hold, forcing The Shard to expend energy to get to the ropes. This pattern continued for several minutes, until The Shard connected with a hard back elbow after ducking a Quack clothesline attempt. As Mike staggered backwards, The Shard unleashed a vicious Shard Super Kick that leveled Quack. Shard quickly covered, but Quack managed to get his foot on the ropes. Shard then went to work himself hitting a nasty Yakuza kick to his seated opponent, connecting with a Jig 'N' Tonic, and drilling Quack with a brainbuster. Shard set up for another Superkick, but Quackenbush ducked it and blasted Shard with a palm strike. Shard shook it off and blasted Quack with another Shard Super Kick. To the surprise of everyone, Quack shook that off and blasted Shard again with an even more vicious palm strike. Shard went backwards and the ropes held him up. Quack called for the QD3, but was rolled into a small package for the One, Two, Thr...NO!! Shard was quickly back to his feet, and as soon as Quack stood back up, he unleashed a third Shard Super Kick. He collapsed on top of Quack and for the three count.

Winner: The Shard

After the match, Chikara Grand Champion Jigsaw made his way to the ring, calling on the crowd to show appreciation for both men. He entered the ring and helped Quack to his feet, then turned and shook hands with The Shard. Quack took a moment to clear the cobwebs from his head and then extended his hand to The Shard who took it immediately and raised Quack's arms into the air. Jigsaw turned to the camera and said that this trio would spell the end of PWG, and would surely be your next King of Trios champions.


Intermission followed, after which Leonard F. Chikarason returned to the ring to announce that Juan Fransisco De Coronado was off of the next show due to injury, but Saturyne would have a new opponent, and it would be "The Osirian Assassin" Ophidian!!


5) FIST vs Gran Akuma and ?

Gran Akuma came to the ring alone, which prompted Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano to mock him for being unable to find a partner. With a smile Akuma took the microphone and said that he had searched the world for a man to be his partner in Chikara. He said that he had been looking for a man with Athleticism, a man with Charisma, a man with Heart, and he had found all of that wrapped in a singular package, known as...ACH

5) FIST vs Gran Akuma and ACH

Akuma started the match and viciously laid in kicks and strikes to both members of his former stable. He nearly pinned Johnny Gargano after a Yoshi Tonic, but Taylor entered and tossed Akuma from the ring. ACH came in and wowed the Chikarmy with his high flying, high energy style. He was on the offense for many minutes, but the cheating of Taylor and Gargano eventually slowed the young man down. The two members of FIST used frequent tags, underhanded tactics, and solid tag team strategy to wear ACH down and scored many near falls. Finally after what seemed like an eternity, ACH leap frogged over a Chuck Taylor attack and caught him with a dropkick on the rebound. Taylor crawled over and tagged Gargano, but ACH was finally able to reach his corner and tag in Gran Akuma. Akuma ducked a Gargano superkick, connected with a rolling sole butt, and then annihilated Gargano with a brutal kick to the face. Taylor tried to get involved, but ACH caught him with a huge bicycle kick. Akuma then hoisted Gargano up and hit the Tenchi Crash for the 1,2,3.

Gran Akuma and ACH have 1 Point toward title contention.


6) The Young Bucks vs 3.0

Shane Matthews came into this one fired up beyond belief (likely due to pepperoni sticks and Red Bull) while The Young Bucks were extra cocky on this night. That arrogance would cost them. They began the match mocking Matthews who rushed both men and drilled them with a double clothesline. Matt quickly rolled from the ring, and Jagged exited to allow his partner to work. Matthews wasted no time knocking the smaller Nick Jackson down with a massive shoulder tackle, then nearly cut him in half with a spear. He spiked Nick with a piledriver, and then called for Parker to enter the ring. Instead of going for a double team move, Parker knocked Matt Jackson from the apron and then leapt onto him with a plancha. Meanwhile in the ring, Matthews called for the BOSTON CRAB! and locked it in on Nick. Nick crawled for the ropes, but Matthews drug him into the center of the ring and sat back on it. Nick had no choice but to tap.

3.0 have 1 Point toward title contention.

As 3.0 celebrated, Matt could be heard asking Nick what the hell happened, while Nick was asking what the hell hit him. Then the Bucks did something that was totally unexpected and extended their hands to 3.0, who shook them. As The Bucks were leaving Matt could be heard saying that "Kevin was gonna be pissed."


7) Kevin Steen, Drake Younger, Adam Cole, and Joey Ryan vs Green Ant, Sami Callihan, Eddie Kingston, and Jigsaw - Elimination Rules

Elimination #1: At the fourteen mark, Eddie Kingston annihilated Drake Younger with the Sliding D after Younger had already been flipped completely over and onto his neck with a lariat.

Elimination #2: At the nineteen minute mark, Green Ant locked Joey Ryan into the Chikara Special Green. Ryan tried his damnedest to reach the ropes, but could not and eventually tapped out.

Elimination #3: At the twenty six minute mark, Jigsaw somehow managed to hoist Kevin Steen up and drill him with the Jig 'N' Tonic for the three count and the elimination.

Elimination #4: At the thirty minute mark, Eddie Kingston blasted an exhausted Adam Cole with the Backfist to the Future, and covered him for the victory.

Survivors: Eddie Kingston, Jigsaw, Green Ant, and Sami Callihan


8) The Briscoe Brothers vs Tim Donst and Jakober Hammermeier - 2 out of 3 falls for the Campeones De Parejas

Fall #1: Mark Briscoe immediately blasts Jakob Hammermeier with an enzuigiri that sends him out of the ring to the floor. Tim Donst screams for Jakob to get back into the ring, but Jakob is hardly moving. Mark then grabs Donst by the hair and drags him into the ring. Donst barely survives the tag team prowess of the champions, and as soon as he can get away, he tags a still injured Jakob. Jakob tries his hardest, gaining a few shocking near falls, but eventually he falls victim to the Cut Throat Driver.


Fall #2: As soon as the bell rings, Donst rushes Mark Briscoe and drops him with a running STO. Donst wastes zero time and drills Mark with the Donstitution and gets the one, two, three.


Fall #3: Donst forces Jakob back into the ring, and Jay Briscoe is none too happy. The beating Jakob takes at the hands of both Briscoe's for the next ten minutes is legendary, but somehow Jakob always manages to sneak his shoulder up or get his foot onto the rope. The end came when Jay Briscoe drilled Jakob with a Yakuza kick that had such force behind it, it sent Jakob over the top rope to the floor. Donst entered the ring and wrapped the laces from his boot around the neck of Jay Briscoe and dropped down into a rear naked choke. Mark Briscoe protested and tried to enter the fray, but only cost his brother as Bryce Remsburg missed the cheating and sent Mark out of the ring. Donst tossed the lace out of the ring, and drilled Jay with a Gator Roll. As Mark tried to enter the ring, he found a semi-conscious Hammermeier holding onto his foot. In the time it took him to shake him off, Tim Donst covered Jay Briscoe for the tainted One, Two, Three.

TIM DONST AND JAKOB HAMMERMEIER ARE THE NEW CAMPEONES DE PAREJAS!!!!


Donst wasted no time in grabbing both of the title belts and leaving his partner at ringside. Meanwhile Jay and Mark Briscoe protested to Bryce Remsburg about the cheating. Bryce told them over and over that he didn't see it, and finally Jay's temper got the best of him, and he drilled Remsburg with a clothesline. The Briscoe's left the arena to a chorus of boo's from the fans in attendance.

SPECIAL UPDATE

The events of "War Dawn" have caused a massive change in the card for "The God Gambit."

The new Director of Fun has suspended Jay and Mark Briscoe from Chikara competition for this show, and the two following shows. They will be allowed to return in time for the Tag World Grand Prix, but LFC quoted him as saying that "a month and a half without pay should teach them to keep their anger in check."

Furthermore, after their embarrassing 4 falls to 0 loss to the Chikara regulars, the members of the PWG contingent have pulled out of their trios match. Ryan and Cole stated that they were "taking the night off" and would be back next month for their title shot.

Then just to make things even more interesting, Dr. Cube announced that Delirious would not be wrestling The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger, and would instead be cashing in his Golden Ticket and taking his Chikara Grand Championship shot against Jigsaw.

So with all of that, the new card for "The God Gambit" is as follows......



In the Main Event of the evening, Jigsaw looks to make his 5th defense of the Chikara Grand Championship, and he will do so against the man who holds the Golden Ticket, the maniacal Delirious.


In the Co-Main Event of the evening, the dysfunctional team of Tim Donst and Jakob Hammermeier look to defend their newly won Campeones De Parejas against The Spectral Envoy team of Hallowicked and Frightmare.


In a four way elimination match with a shot at the Chikara Grand Championship on the line, Ultramantis Black will square off with "The War King" Eddie Kingston, Sami Callihan, and Green Ant. One of these four men will receive a shot at Jigsaw and the Chikara Grand Championship at "Enter The Nightbird"


In Trios action, Icarus, Chuck Taylor, and Johnny Gargano of FIST will take on the new trio of The Throwbacks consisting of Dasher Hatfield, Sugar Dunkerton, and "Mr Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti.

It's really cool seeing Akuma (a former FIST member) & ACH winning their match and I look forward to that four corners tag match...

Thanks for the reply! I also like the Akuma/ACH pairing. Although I will admit, I was torn between AR Fox and ACH as the partner. I think I've made the right choice though. The four way should be awesome.

1) Ophidian vs Saturyne

Saturyne came out of the gate and went on the attack with her high flying offense. She managed to keep Ophidian confused in the opening minutes with a series of head scissors, dropkicks, and flying body attacks. Eventually the experience of the "Osirian Assassin" got the better of her as Ophidian countered a dive with a matrix like move that splattered her on the canvas. Ophidan then went to work wearing her down with forearm shots, submissions, and a particularly brutal cobra clutch suplex, before finally finishing her off with an Egyptian Destroyer that left her not moving in the center of the ring.

Winner: Ophidian

Then things got strange as Ophidian began to chant to his deities that he was going to sacrifice Saturyne in their name. Then things got even odder as the curtain parted and a man cloaked in black with a large ankh dangling from his neck walked slowly to the ring. Ophidian watched as the man entered the ring, and stood to confront him. Then to the shock of every member of the Chikarmy, the man allowed the robe to fall free of his form and standing in front of them was a man none of them thought they would ever see again....

Amasis!

The two former members of The Osirian Portal walked across the ring to stand eye to eye, then Amasis reached out and placed his hand on the forehead of Ophidian. The lights in the building immediately fell to blackness, and a strange chanting began to sound all around the building. When the lights came back on, both Ophidian and Amasis were gone, leaving only the fallen form of Saturyne in the ring. Security were soon out to help her to the back.


2) Kobald vs The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger

Kobald came screaming out of the corner with a running dropkick that sent The Stranger into the buckles hard and knocked his hat off. A series of rapid fire palm strikes followed that staggered the masked man, and a double overhand chop put him down. Kobald then dropped a series of elbows before taking a moment to scream at a young lady in the front row. Kobald then climbed to the top turnbuckle and leapt as The Stranger got to his feet. The Stranger caught him and swung him around into a seated uranage slam that left Kobald stunned on the canvas. Stranger then headed up top and delivered a picture perfect Flying Leg Drop and covered the little goblin for the 1,2,3.

Winner: The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger


3) The Young Bucks vs The Shard & Mike Quackenbush

The Shard and Nick Jackson started the match and Shard picked up where he left off last night, dominating his opponent. About three minutes in, he connected with a Gory Catapult that scored a two count. Two minutes after that, the Jig 'N' Tonic got two and three fourths and was only escaped because Nick got a foot on the ropes. Finally at the six minute mark, The Shard blasted Nick Jackson with a Shard Super Kick for the One, Two, Thr....NO! Matt makes the save, and shoves Nick out of the ring. Shard attempts a Super Kick on Matt, but it is ducked and Shard eats a super kick of his own. Quack attempts to enter the match, but Matt kicks the ropes as he is half way into the ring, driving the rope into the groin of Quack and sending him to the floor. Matt was quickly up top and connected with a moonsault, but The Shard kicked out at two. Nick came back into the ring, and The Bucks obliterated Shard with not one, but two double superkicks. Matt hooked the leg just to make sure, and the One, Two, Three followed.

The Young Bucks have 1 Point.


4) FIST vs The Throwbacks

Trios action began with Dasher Hatfield and Chuck Taylor in the ring, and it didn't take long for the "Old Timey King of Swing" to take control. All three members of FIST tried and failed to get one up on Dasher as the crowd went crazy. Finally Icarus was able to duck a Dasher clothesline and hit him with a dropkick that sent him to the floor. Sugar Dunkerton tried to come in, but Mr. Touchdown was faster. He blasted Icarus with a Flea Flicker, ran over Taylor with a three point stance shoulderblock, and blasted Gargano with a huge clothesline, taking the time to yell "IT'S GOOD" after each and every move. The match continued on for another ten or so minutes with all six men locking up with one another. The end came when Touchdown nailed Johnny Gargano with an Extra Point, but the pin was broken up by Chuck Taylor. Dasher Hatfield entered the ring and clothesline both himself and Chuck Taylor over the top rope. Touchdown moved to tag Sugar Dunkerton, but Icarus came from behind and slammed Touchdown into Dunkerton, then rolled Mr. Touchdown up from behind. He hooked the tights and referee Daniel Yost didn't see it, counting the three.

Intermission followed, and then Leonard F. Chikarason came to the ring and asked for the microphone. "I have been sent out here by the new Director of Fun to announce that on our next show "The Dweller in the Depths" the issue between the men claiming to represent PWG and the members of the Chikara roster will be settled. Chikara was recently contacted by Excalibur and the PWG Board of Directors and told in no uncertain terms that the men who claim to be here on behalf of PWG are here by their own choice. Therefore it has occurred to the Director of Fun that these men must wish to compete for Chikara, so they will be given a chance. A series of matches will occur, and any member of the PWG faction who wins their match will be granted a full time contract with Chikara. Those who come out on the losing end may have the opportunity to return to Chikara in the future, some of them may not. It will depend on their actions, their attitude, and their performance."


5) The Colony vs The Batiri vs Gran Akuma & ACH vs 3.0

Elimination #1: At the fourteen minute mark, ACH was taking it to Scott Parker, but Kodama blind tagged into the match and connected with the Flying Blockbuster on ACH and covered him for the three count.

Elimination #2: At the nineteen minute mark, Obariyon blasted Shane Matthews with the Argentine Enzu Knee Strike and pinned him with his feet on the ropes..

Elimination #3: At the twenty six minute mark, Kodama turned the mask of Fire Ant sidways on his head blinding him. Kodama them attacked Soldier Ant on the apron, and the two of them brawled on the floor. As Fire Ant stumbled around the ring, Obariyon drilled him with the Flying DDT for the win.

6)Ultramantis Black vs Sami Callihan vs Green Ant vs Eddie Kingston - Grand Championship Oppurtunity

Elimination #1: At the eleven minute mark, Ultramantis Black connected with a flying lariat on Green Ant. Cosmic Doom followed and Mantis scored the One, Two, Three.

Elimination #2: At the seventeen minute mark, Sami Callihan ducked an Eddie Kingston lariat, and nailed him with a backdrop driver. He then locked in the Stretch Muffler in the center of the ring, and while Kingston tried valiantly to make the ropes, he had no choice but to tap out.

Elimination #3: At the twenty minute mark, Ultramantis Black destroyed Sami Callihan with the Praying Mantis Bomb and covered him for the three count and the victory.

Ultramants Black will challenge for the Chikara Grand Championship at "Enter The Nightbird"


7) Tim Donst & Jakob Hammermeier vs Hallowicked & Frightmare - Campeones De Parejas

Sixteen minutes of solid action between all four men opened the match. Donst continues his trend of not accepting tags from Jakob, but tagging himself in when he felt it was necessary. No one man ever bore the brunt of the beat down, as it was high action from the start.

Fall #1: At the seventeen minute mark, Tim Donst nailed two consecutive Gator Rolls on Frightmare and covered him for the three count.

After that the team of Donst and Jakob actually worked quite well together and double teamed Hallowicked relentlessly. Donst continually knocked Frightmare off the apron, thus not allowing Wicked to tag, and keeping Frightmare from fully recovering.

Fall #2: Donst went to knock Frightmare off the apron for the fourth time, but Frightmare countered Donst's running attack by pulling down the rope and causing Donst to sail to the floor. Frightmare then connected with a beautiful Asai moonsault onto Donst on the floor. Jakob snuck into the ring while Bryce Remsburg was watching Frightmare fly, and low blowed Hallowicked. He then connected with Guten Nacht! and covered Wicked for the One, Two, Three.

8) Jigsaw vs Delirious w/Dr. Cube - Chikara Grand Championship

Delirious came out singing "I've Got a Golden Ticket" in his special language which was quite amusing. Jigsaw came out in an inverted version of his red and black attire and looked quite ready for the challenge. Not even a minute into the match, Dr. Cube reached into the ring and tripped Jigsaw. In a flash, Ultramantis Black was at ringside and chased Cube away from the arena and to the back, leaving this a one on one encounter.

Delirious seemed to weigh the options of attacking Mantis or jumping on Jigsaw, and chose the champion. Delirious dominated the opening minutes beating Jigsaw from pillar to post. Jigsaw connected now and again with an offensive move, but Delirious was able to cut the momentum off at every turn. After a solid eight minutes of Delirious in control, he went for the kill with Shadows Over Hell, but Jigsaw was able to roll over and get his knee's up at the last possible second. Jig took control peppering Delirious with kicks and forearm strikes that rocked his demented opponent. At the fourteen minute mark, Jig connected with a brutal superkick and followed it up with a brainbuster. Referee Bryce Remsburg counted One, Two, Thr...KICK OUT! Delirious kicked out with authority, and got to his feet, shaking his head, and spouting off nonsense. Jig went for another superkick, but Delirious ducked it and nailed Jigsaw with a big dropkick that sent Jig into the corner. Delirious came rushing in with a clothesline, then connected with about seven more, shouting "Bah" with each one. Jigsaw crumbled in the corner, and Delirious rushed to the other side of the ring and came roaring back with a Panic Attack. Delirious drug Jigsaw into the center of the ring and covered him for the One, Two, Thr....NO!! Jigsaw got his shoulder up! Delirious clutched at his head and held two fingers up to the referee, who confirmed it was indeed two. Delirious pulled Jigsaw to his feet and fired off a series of three headbutts. He then stuck the head of Jigsaw between his legs and screamed out "THIS IS FOR MANTIS BLACK!!"

Delirious reached down and hooked the arms of Jigsaw for the Praying Mantis Bomb. Delirious hoisted him into the air, but somehow Jigsaw was able to bring his foot down and kick Delirious in the head, causing him to sit Jigsaw back down. Jig pulled his arms free, and hoisted Delirious up.....JIG 'N' TONIC!!! 1....2.....3!!!!

THE DWELLER IN THE DEPTHS

In the Main Event of the evening, the dysfunctional duo of Tim Donst and Jakob Hammermeier look to make their second defense of the Campeones De Parejas against the team of Joey Ryan and Adam Cole. Not only are the belts at stake for Cole and Ryan, but full time Chikara contracts as well. With everything on the line will they triumph, or will the last remnants of the BDK continue to win despite themselves?

In tag team action, Kevin Steen and Super Dragon, collectively known as Appetite for Destruction look to secure full time Chikara contracts. Standing across from them will be a man who wants nothing more than to destroy both of them, Eddie Kingston and his hand chosen partner, a man who hates Steen even more, El Generico!

Drake Younger and Sami Callihan despise one another. Callihan has toned down some of his tendencies and has made his run in Chikara a successful one, but tonight he won't have too, as Drake Younger competes against him in an attempt to secure his own Chikara contract. They have both asked for it, and against our better judgement here at Chikara, we are going to allow it. IT WILL BE GUERRILLA WARFARE!!!

The Young Bucks have a point toward title contention here in Chikara. The Colony do not. The Colony have full time Chikara contracts. The Young Bucks do not. One of these teams is going to walk away very disappointed!

The Shard wants revenge on his former "PWG Team Mates" and he will get his chance as he and Mike Quackenbush team up to take on the "Dojo Bros" of Eddie Edwards and Roderick Strong, with Chikara contracts on the line for the later team.


Green Ant is looking to begin his march toward the Chikara Grand Championship. Icarus is looking to spoil that goal. The two of them will meet one on one.

In the season opener, "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti and The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger were involved in the same match, but never made contact in the ring. That will change as the two rookies go at it one on one.

Five teams will compete in a Battle Royal. All five of these teams will be participating in the upcoming Tag World Grand Prix. The winning team in this match will be given the opportunity to choose their first round opponents once all teams have been announced!

The main event of the evening will see Jigsaw look to make his sixth defense of the Chikara Grand Championship. He will have to do so against a fellow Gen 1 original, and the winner of the recent four way number one contenders match, Ultramantis Black!

In the co-Main Event, The Batiri will cash in their 3 Points and look to regain the Campeones De Parejas. The question becomes whether they will be doing it against Donst & Hammermeier or Adam Cole & Joey Ryan.


Scott Parker and Shane Matthews look to gain points toward title contention, but they will have to do so against a mystery team!!

Fire and Soldier Ant of The Colony have struggled a bit this season, but they look to turn it around against the delicious dairy deviants, Los Ice Creams!!

Dasher Hatfield and Sugar Dunkerton look to add another point to their total, but to do so they will have to get past former champions, Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano of FIST!


Chikara tempts fate for the second year in a row as The Countdown Showdown Returns! Barring any unforeseen earthquakes, blizzards, or sharknado's, fifteen men will compete in an over the top rope, delayed entry battle royal, with the winner gaining a shot at the Chikara Grand Championship during the upcoming Anniversario weekend!
