With the shocking revelation that it was Tyler Black underneath the mask of CombatANT, speculation runs rampant as to the identities of the other masked men in Gekido. Could the other members of the Swarm be Black's former Age of the Fall allies, Jimmy Jacobs and Necro Butcher? What about the wrestlers who opted out of their major-league contracts but have yet to make an appearance, like Rob Van Dam or Austin Aries? Given the appearance of 17 on Team Heritage at War Games, are these invaders from HCW? While the mystery (and the loss of Mike Quackenbush) frustrate Chikara's business managers, the controversy proves to be very profitable, as both CHIKARA shows scheduled for October ( Walking on Sunshine from Piedmont, Alabama on the 6th, and Come Dancing from Burlington, North Carolina on the 7th) sell out before the line-ups are even announced. Walking on Sunshine Green Ant vs. Archibald Peck (with Veronica) Los Ice Creams vs. 3.0 17 vs. Gregory Iron Trios Match: BDK vs. The Spectral Envoy Colt Cabana vs. Eddie Kingston Diamond Sun vs. The Swarm Shard vs. Tim Donst

HCW Training Day September 29, 2012 Manhattan, NY The webcast went live with a replay of the backstage drama involving the mysterious attack on Brent Albright, then went straight to the announce table. TENAY: "As you just saw fans, last week, Brent Albright suffered a horrendous beating at the hands of an unknown assailant." PRAZAK: "And one week later, we still don't know who is responsible for that attack, but my money is on a certain former Chikara competitor with an axe to grind here in HCW." TENAY: "Dave Prazak, not the only person here in Heritage voicing those same opinions. But all we know right now is that Brent Albright has been released from the hospital with numerous injuries, including a broken wrist and fractured oribtal socket." PRAZAK: "Meanwhile, the 'investigation' continues, and we find ourselves in the home stretch of this Training Day competition. Tonight, the Recruits with active Coaches got to hand-pick an opponent for those Coaches, as these men, looking for an HCW contract and the Heritage Championship pull out all the stops in an attempt to take everyone else out." Mark Sterling vs. Bradley CharlesSterling and Charles were the two Recruits not assigned a match against a Coach, so they squared off in the opening match. Sterling displayed the dominance one would expect from the competition's current front runner, though Charles was able to hold his own, and even get in some prolonged periods of offense. He was not able to put Sterling away after a LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, though Charles also managed to hold on while trapped in the MARKSHOOTER until he could reach the ropes. After trading blows, holds, moves, and counter-moves, Sterling was ultimately forced to take to the air, where he put Charles away with a picture-perfect flying cross body block. WINNER: Mark Sterling via pinfall (9:08) **½ Roderick Strong vs. Derek WyldeIn the first Coach vs. Recruit battle, Derek Wylde scored a major upset, pinning Roderick Strong with a DANGER DRIVER out of nowhere. WINNER: Derek Wylde via pinfall (2:01) ½ Bryan Danielson vs. Jeremy WyattJeremy Wyatt earned the appreciation of the crowd for showing incredible resilience in this bout. Nevertheless, Danielson took him completely apart, and finally scored a pinfall after a swan dive head butt. WINNER: Bryan Danielson via pinfall (6:20) **½ Adam Pearce vs. Rob JamesPearce kept pace with the man he pinned at the last card, Bryan Danielson, by dominating James and scoring the pinfall after a JUMPING PILEDRIVER. WINNER: Adam Pearce via pinfall (2:38) ½ Scorpio Sky vs. Arya DaivariArya Daivari spent more time complaining about being forced to wrestle a "filthy American devil" than actually wrestling. As soon as Sky took the initiative and scored a little offense, Daivari immediately shoved down the referee and left the ring, drawing a cheap DQ. WINNER: Scorpio Sky via disqualification (1:51) ½ Brian Kendrick vs. Hayden AveryDangling at the bottom of the competitors, Avery needed an impressive showing here, and really stepped up his game. He and Kendrick put on a classic match, with Kendrick dominating the aerial game and Avery taking control on the mat. The Recruit scored several near pitfalls, but Kendrick was simply too seasoned to stay down. Ten minutes in, Avery had thrown everything he had at the Coach, and was beginning to sho signs of fatigue. Kendrick picked up on this, took control of the match, and finally picked up the win with his SLICED BREAD #2. WINNER: Brian Kendrick via pinfall (15:11) *** Post-Match CommentaryPRAZAK: "Despite a solid showing from Hayden Avery, he needed a win here to pull himself out of the basement. He came up short, and is now mathematically at risk for elimination tonight." TENAY: "And he'll take on the man with the most votes for elimination at the end of the action tonight. Right now the man with the most... Oh no..." PRAZAK: "Dammit!" TENAY: "We're getting word... Apparently there's been another attack backstage!" PRAZAK: "Get a camera back there! Go! Go! Go!" Sure enough, fans watching via the internet were treated to another scene of absolute chaos. Eric Young was face down on the ground, unconscious, blood pooled around him and staining his blond hair. Bryan Danielson was already on the scene, along with Roderick Strong, Jay Lethal, Sara Del Rey, and the Briscoes. JAY: "Damn! What happened? Who saw anything?" DEL REY: "No one saw anything!" LETHAL: "How can no one see anything?" MARK: "He didn't just beat himself up, man!" DEL REY: "No kidding, Briscoe, really? I didn't know--" DANIELSON: "Shut up! Shut up! Stay calm. Dammit! Look, Jay--call 911." LETHAL: "Already done, man." DANIELSON: "We need an ambulance, and...hell. We probably need the cops." STRONG: "What's he got in his hand?" Ric Flair, Nigel McGuinness, and Adam Pearce arrived on the scene, and once again, Flair tried to cover up the camera and force the cameraman away...but not before he got footage of the scrap of cloth Eric Young had been holding onto: a torn, airbrushed scrap of wrestling trunks or a singlet, bearing a stylized "B," "P," or "R." The feed cut back to the ring as introductions for the next match got underway. Steve Corino vs.Brian AshThe powerful Recruit tried to dominate the match by virtue of his size and strength, but the veteran Corino would have none of it. He avoided Ash's powerful arms, and dazzled him with a hit-and-run offense that frustrated the Recruit so thoroughly, he wound up using a steel chair to finally take Corino down, drawing a DQ in the process. WINNER: Steve Corino via disqualification (5:24) *½ Announcers' CommentaryTENAY: "Brian Ash draws the DQ, which doesn't bode well for his future in the weeks to come." PRAZAK: "Assuming he isn't the next person to get taken out backstage..." TENAY: "Still no word on the attacker, or on Eric Young's condition, other than the fact that he's on his way to the hospital, and we hope to have an update on his condition before the broadcast ends." PRAZAK: "This is ridiculous. We all know who it is..." TENAY: "Let's go to tonight's voting." STERLING: "Jeremy Wyatt, you're still one of the biggest threats in this competition. Which means you still need to go!"
CHARLES: "You know, we've been talking in the back, the bunch of us, and Mark Sterling, you're a thug. Plain and simple. But we can't vote for you because of your damn immunity--so I'm voting for your boy, Rob James!"
WYLDE: "Rob James, you think I don't know what you're doing? You send your Coach, Roderick Strong against me, and you think I'm just gonna take it? I'm going to beat him, and I'm going to laugh as you get voted out on your butt!"
WYATT: "I think Bradley Charles already explained it, but just in case: Rob, you've picked the wrong side in this war, brother. I vote for Rob James."
JAMES: "Alright...one more week, I'm gonna go with what my partner wants. Jeremy Wyatt, you get my vote, but next week, me and Mark are gonna turn our attention to all you people who have been trying to get to him through me!"
DAIVARI: "One white devil is the same as the next to me, but I understand the value of a strategic alliance. I give my vote to Rob James!"
AVERY: "I'm not into this backstage drama, Survivor alliance crap. Brian Ash, we've had our issues, and we're going to keep on having them, so you get my vote."
ASH: "I'm with the boys. Rob James, your time is up."Rather than going back to Mike Tenay and Dave Prazak, the feed switched to Jeremy Borash, in the backstage area, who said that the police were on the scene to investigate the attack on Eric Young...and that Jeremy Wyatt was the top vote-getter, putting him at risk for elimination. Jeremy Wyatt vs. Hayden AveryWhile this was a fairly even match, neither man seemed to have his heart in it, suggesting that the Recruits were preoccupied by the second attack. As the men exchanged banter, then accusations, then threats, the match slowly heated up, until Wyatt finally caught Avery in the KC CROSSFACE to force him out of the competition. WINNER: Jeremy Wyatt via submission (14:08) *½

HCW Training Day October 5, 2012 Manhattan, NY The webcast went live without music, video packages, or even commentary from Mike Tenay and Dave Prazak. Instead, a cold open showed Bryan Danielson already in the ring, pacing. DANIELSON: "Alright. I've waited a whole week for this. Mike Quackenbush..." CROWD: "Boo!" DANIELSON: "I called you last week and told you to get your ass here tonight. I know you're hiding back there in the locker room, so get out here right now!" The CHIKARA theme erupted from the speakers--drawing an extremely hostile reaction from the crowd--and Quackenbush made his way out--in blue jeans and a CHIKARA tee-shirt, rather than his wrestling gear. DANIELSON: "Alright, Quack. I know you're not happy about being here in HCW, but you lost War Games fair and square. I know you're all about the drama, and the intrigue, and the 'sports entertainment.' " CROWD: "Boo!" DANIELSON: "So, I'm only going to ask you this one time. Did you attack Brent Albright and Eric Young?" QUACKENBUSH: "Well..." CROWD: "Boo!" QUACKENBUSH: "Well, Bryan, if you think I'm the attacker, maybe you should just release me and send me back to Chikara..." DANIELSON: "Oh, you'd love that, wouldn't you? Tell you what--you give me an honest answer right now, and I'll consider it." QUACKENBUSH: Sigh. "Bryan, I'd love nothing more than to tell you I was the one taking out your boys. You're right--I don't want to be here. And yes, I do plan on making you pay for dragging me here. But I'm going to do it on my terms, in this ring. I'm going to make you see that pulling me into HCW was the worst mistake you ever made." CROWD: "Boo!" QUACKENBUSH: "But as for jumping people in the locker room, and laying them out? Sorry, but it's just not my style." DANIELSON: "You know, Mike... I want to believe you. I really do. But I don't. I think you're just the kind of guy to come in here and take out your losses, your failures on other people. I think you're just the sort of guy to come in here and wreck things for the other wrestlers, and for these great fans..." CROWD: "Best in the world! Best in the world!" Despite his claims of innocence, Quackenbush got nose to nose with Danielson, irate at having his word challenged. Just as it seemed a physical confrontation was imminent, Brian Kendrick came tearing down the aisle and slid into the ring. KENDRICK: "Bryan! Bryan, it wasn't him!" DANIELSON: "What?" KENDRICK: "Someone just took Nigel out, while Quack was out here with you. It wasn't him!" Danielson's face turned red in anger, and he and Quackenbush followed Kendrick to the back at full speed (and with a cameraman in close pursuit). They dashed down the twisting hallways in the back of the arena, and burst through a pair of double doors to see Nigel McGuinness laid out--completely obliterated, in fact. Unlike the others, he was partially conscious, but clearly out of it and surrounded by debris: broken glass, the remnants of a wooden chair, a bloodied length of lead pipe. In twos and threes, the rest of the coaches arrived on the scene, and Ric Flair and Jay Lethal forced the cameraman out of the room. With Mike Quackenbush declaring his innocence one more time, the feed cut to the announcers. TENAY: "Well, fans, I'd like to welcome you to the Training Day broadcast, but we've had another attack, this time on former World Champion, Nigel McGuinness." PRAZAK: "You know, Mike Tenay, I'm not exactly a pure babyface in this business. I don't wear a white hat, but to attack Nigel McGuinness, who isn't even an active wrestler...that makes me sick." TENAY: "Rumors had been circulating around the locker room that McGuinness may be in training for one last comeback. Now...well, until we know the extent of any injuries he's sustained, there's no point speculating about that." PRAZAK: "Well, continuing wrestling's proud tradition of questionable moral decisions, we're going to go ahead with the show. Which means it's time to explain the format of tonight's matches." TENAY: "Thank you, Dangerous Dave. Our opening match will see Arya Daivari take on Jeremy Wyatt--the two men without active Coaches." PRAZAK: "In Daivari's case, apparently, no coach of any kind, anymore." TENAY: "We don't know anything yet, Dave!" PRAZAK: "Keep telling yourself that. Anyway, the other five Recruits issued a challenge to the active Coaches, beginning with our front-runner Mark Sterling who challenged, believe it or not, Adam Pearce!" TENAY: "The man who, two weeks ago, pinned Sterling's Coach Bryan Danielson in a tag team match following that brutal JUMPING PILEDRIVER, and 'Scrap Iron' is not happy at getting called out." PRAZAK: "Adam Pearce feels disrespected, and he is absolutely right. Mark Sterling will be lucky to walk out of that ring without a broken neck tonight..." Arya Daivari vs. Jeremy WyattIf the attack on his Coach fazed Arya Daivari, he didn't show it, as he wrestled his customary defensive match, picking his spots to unload with offense. Wyatt, on the other hand, seemed extremely distracted, and his lack of focus cost him when he went for a wild punch, missing his opponent but laying out the official, instead. WINNER: Arya Daivari via disqualification (2:51) ½ Bryan Danielson vs. Bradley CharlesCharles didn't select Danielson as his opponent, but as the last man to issue a challenge, was stuck with the match. Despite being completely overmatched, Charles put up a valiant fight and even managed to hit his LONG KISS GOODNIGHT twice for near-falls. Charles' early success added to Danielson's bad night, and the "American Dragon" took out his frustration on his opponent, eventually securing a victory with his CATTLE MUTILATION. WINNER: Bryan Danielson via submission (4:39) *½ Brian Kendrick vs. Brian AshAsh came out of the gates strong and got in some heavy shots early, but Kendrick was able to weather the storm and score a pinfall after a tornado DDT. WINNER: Brian Kendrick via pinfall (4:25) * Roderick Strong vs. Derek WyldeWylde hoped to build on the momentum of his upset over Strong one week earlier, but underestimated the effect of Strong's anger and embarrassment. The "Messiah of the Backbreaker" attacked Wylde like a man possessed, forcing the Recruit to grab a chair and defend himself, drawing a purely defensive DQ. WINNER: Roderick Strong via disqualification (3:52) ½ Scorpio Sky vs. Rob JamesJames had clearly been training heavily with his Coach, Roderick Strong, as he started this match at high speed and refused to let up, catching Sky completely by surprise and picking up a win after his 94% BETTER THAN YOU DRIVER. WINNER: Rob James via pinfall (2:41) ½ Adam Pearce vs. Mark SterlingAs expected, Pearce went into this match in a foul mood, and Sterling paid the price. He absorbed several minutes of punishment before slithering out to the floor for a breather--which drew his Coach, Bryan Danielson, down to ringside for a consultation. Taking full advantage of the referee's count, Danielson whispered some advice to his charge, then sent him back into the ring. Whatever Danielson's counsel may have been, it proved to be effective, as Sterling was able to block a suplex, then a body slam, and come back with an assault of his own. A pair of stiff clotheslines took Pearce down to the mat, and Sterling made the cover...while Danielson reached into the ring, hooked Pearce's ankles, and held his legs down while the referee counted three! WINNER: Mark Sterling via cheap pinfall (7:06) *½ Announcer's CommentaryPRAZAK: "Well, if we thought Adam Pearce was angry before, he's positively enraged now." TENAY: "I couldn't agree more, Dave. Far be it from me to question the talent or the wisdom of Bryan Danielson...but even as good as he is, how good an idea was it to rob Adam Pearce of a win like that?" PRAZAK: "While that last match was underway, we received word that Nigel McGuinness is conscious, but he was attacked from behind, and didn't see anything. He has broken ribs, and will need a number of stitches, but should be fine." TENAY: "Finally, a piece of good news coming off those heinous attacks. Now, let's take a look at the voting to see who will take on the man in last place--Bradley Charles--in the elimination match." WYATT: "I don't know how many more of these votes I'm gonna get, so I have to make every one of them count. Rob James, I know you and Sterling have it in for me, but I'll be damned if I won't take you out with me!"
DAIVARI: "The white devils want me to vote for Rob James again, but working with them last week made me sick to my stomach! I vote for Bradley Charles--he has wronged me one time too many, and my ancestors cry out for his head!"
CHARLES: "Rob James, it's only a matter of time before we catch up with you."
ASH: "Power in numbers, man. Rob James, you've got to go!"
WYLDE: "I vote for Rob James, and like the rest of the guys, I will keep voting for him until he's gone!"
JAMES: "Damn, damn, damn... I know who I should vote for, Roddy told me who I should vote for, but Mark wants... Alright, brother. One more week. I vote Jeremy Wyatt, but next week, man, we start taking down my list!"
STERLING: "You know, Rob--you and I have been in this together, for a while now, and I couldn't ask for a better partner. I just saw you take it to Scorpio Sky, and damn if you didn't pull off a win! Good job, man. Problem is, it makes me see just how much of a threat you are, so...I vote Rob James!"PRAZAK: "Did I hear what I think I just heard?" TENAY: "Unbelievable! Mark Sterling, after weeks of working together with Rob James, has just voted for his elimination." PRAZAK: "Not only that, Mike Tenay--that vote puts Rob James in a tie with Jeremy Wyatt for the most votes, which means tonight's elimination match will be a Triple Threat, and two Recruits will be eliminated!" Rob James vs. Jeremy Wyatt vs. Bradley CharlesBradley Charles was almost an afterthought to the other competitors in this match, as Wyatt was determined to take out James, who had been voting for him consistently all these weeks, and James himself was beyond livid at Mark Sterling's sudden but inevitable betrayal. These two tore into one another recklessly, and Charles was content to let them, until he needed to break up the KC CROSSFACE on James, and shortly after that, prevent a pinfall after Wyatt was planted with the 94% BETTER THAN YOU DRIVER. Now that the other competitors were reminded of his presence, James and Wyatt went after Charles--and incredibly, showed something resembling teamwork in beating him down. The teamwork dissolved when Wyatt went for a pinfall, only to be dragged off the fallen Charles by Rob James, who went for a cover of his own and ate a knee to the back of the head for his efforts. While the two men argued, Charles rolled Wyatt up unexpectedly, but only got two, then James took him down with a hard lariat and went for the cover, with Wyatt making the save almost immediately. The end finally came when all three men were on the floor. James tried to whip Charles into the ring post, but Charles put on the brakes and reversed the whip, in the other direction. Jeremy Wyatt charged with a clothesline, but James ducked, as did Charles, and Wyatt crashed head-first into the ringpost. Charles made it into the ring first, and when James followed, he ate a knee drop, then a perfectly-timed LONG KISS GOODNIGHT. Wyatt was still stunned on the floor, so there was no one to break up the pinfall as the referee counted three, and both Jeremy Wyatt and Rob James were eliminated from the competition. WINNER: Bradley Charles via pinfall (26:49) ***½ Post-Match DramaOnce the bell sounded, Bradley Charles slipped out of the ring and celebrated with the fans. Rob James struggled to sit up in the ring, and Jeremy Wyatt slowly made his way under the bottom rope--too late to do any good. As the reality of their situation sunk in, both men began protesting to the referee. The official held up his hands and was about to walk away, but Rob James grabbed him, spun him around, and planted him with the 94% BETTER THAN YOU DRIVER! Wyatt watched this, then pounced, locking the official in the KC CROSSFACE! The referee tapped for all he was worth, and Wyatt finally released the hold, then he and Rob James raised each other's hands and bid farewell to the crowd as the webcast came to a close.

Walking on Sunshine October 6, 2012 Piedmont, Alabama Green Ant vs. Archibald PeckPeck did not look good in this match, prompting Veronica to walk out on her charge halfway through the contest. Ultimately, Green Ant took the win with his CLOVERLEAF. WINNER: Green Ant via submission (6:14) * Los Ice Creams vs. 3.0Matthews and Parker started the match strong, but showed a real lack of focus and were unable to sustain their advantage. A couple poorly-planned trips to the top turnbuckle spelled disaster for the Canadian duo, and the end came all too quickly as Scott Parker submitted to a scorpion death lock by El Hijo del Ice Cream. WINNERS: Los Ice Creams via submission (6:10) ½ Gregory Iron vs. 17Iron's upset of 17 earlier in the year was clearly on the masked man's mind, as he tore into Iron right from the opening bell and never let up, eventually beating him so severely that the Handicapped Hero was counted out. WINNER: 17 via count out (5:17) ½ Trios Match: The BDK vs. The Spectral EnvoyPer CHIKARA's standing Trios rules, team captains Claudio Castagnoli and Ultramantis Black started the match for their respective teams, however, it didn't take long for all six men to get involved in a wild brawl which culminated in a double-DQ. NO WINNER: double disqualification (4:36) -- Eddie Kingston vs. Colt "Boom Boom" CabanaKingston went into this match looking to avenge the loss of his title to Cabana at One, while Cabana wanted to show that his one-day title reign was not the fluke it appeared to be. The two men shook hands to start the match, then wrestled a mini-classic. Cabana held the edge for most of the match, but Kingston's toughness allowed him to remain alive, even after a stiff clothesline practically turned him inside out. Cabana wrestled a great match, but he made a crucial mistake in climbing to the top rope before Kingston was sufficiently dazed. Kingston slammed him to the mat and hit a brutal BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE that quite clearly (and bloodily) broke his opponent's nose. Cabana was able to kick out at two, but a second BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE, right across the broken nose, finally put Cabana away. WINNER: Eddie Kingston via pinfall (11:09) ** Diamond Sun vs. The SwarmGekido's standing tag team of newcomer HymenopterANT and the recently-unmasked Tyler Black made their way to the ring first, followed by Diamond Sun, who were accompanied by Ophidian's former partner, Amasis. Dasher Hatfield was clearly put out by his presence, and the two bickered non-stop--which caused Hatfield to miss an attempted tag by Ophidian and a 450 SPLASH by HymenopterANT until it was too late, and the match was over. WINNERS: The Swarm via pinfall (3:04) -- Shard vs. Tim DonstShard was hoping to continue Gekido's unbeaten streak for the evening, and in the first couple minutes of the match, seemed to be well on the way to doing so. Once Tim Donst reversed a whip into the corner and took the advantage, however, he never let up, and scored a pinfall after his SDT. WINNER: Tim Donst via pinfall (6:50) ½ MAIN EVENT: The Colony (c) vs. Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood in a European Rules for the Campeonatos de ParejasLee and Redwood clearly came to fight, and they laid into the champions savagely to start this match--a little too savagely, as it turned out. After Fire Ant refused to stay down following a WOOD CHIPPER and a BIG BOOT, a frustrated Brodie Lee laid him out with a steel chair, drawing a DQ (6:03). After the rest period, Fire Ant actually returned the favor, drawing a DQ of his own for using the same chair as a weapon against Grizzly Redwood (7:53). With the match tied at one fall apiece, and the Colony's DQ taking the titles out of play, the third fall was fought primarily for bragging rights--which went to the challengers when Brodie Lee out-muscled Soldier Ant and finally picked up the win after a BIG BOOT. WINNERS: Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood via disqualification/pinfall (11:15) **½

Come Dancing October 7, 2012 Burlington, North Carolina A.R. Fox vs. The HoboThe homeless superstar put on a valiant effort, but Fox was simply too fast, too intense, and ultimately too skilled. Whenever the Hobo started to build some momentum, Fox took the match to the floor and obliterated him, either with a suicide senton, or by ramming him into the ringpost. Ultimately, he took the win with a bridging German Suplex. WINNER: A.R. Fox via pinfall (5:08) **½ The Batiri vs. The B.D.K.Ares and Pinkie Sanchez were accompanied by Jakob Hammermeier for this match, which saw Sanchez wrestle a phenomenal match to keep his team alive against the former Campeonatos de Parejas, while Ares was angry about the previous day's Trios match, angry about the break-up of his partnership with Claudio Castagnoli (focusing on singles wrestling)...just plain angry. His anger cost his team another win when, despite having the advantage, he took Kodama out to the floor and choked him with an electrical cable, refusing to break as the referee counted, and drawing the DQ. WINNERS: The Batiri via disqualification (7:06) ½ The Swarm vs. IncoherenceGekido's regular tag team of HymenopterANT and Reyes del Trinidad co-champion Tyler Black absolutely dominated their masked opponents, taking great pleasure in keeping them on the floor and rolling into the ring only to break the official's count. After they tired of toying with their opponents, HymenopterANT hit an awesome shooting star press from the top rope to the arena floor, crushing Hallowicked and leaving him on the floor for the referee's count. WINNERS: The Swarm via count out (13:31) ½ Ultramantis Black vs. Claudio CastagnoliUltramantis Black's music--creepy under the best of circumstances--was even more unsettling today, as it seemed to skip and stutter randomly, was overlaid with other music, that seemed to be playing backwards. The music almost seemed to cause him pain, as he stopped several times on his way down the aisle, clutching his head. Whatever was going on in his head, Black took it out on Castagnoli. The larger, stronger competitor was taken aback by the masked man's savagery, and Black dominated much of the match. The BDK soldier turned the tide by ducking under a clothesline and coming back with a Roaring European Uppercut, but he had already absorbed quite a bit of damage--including two PRAYING MANTIS BOMBS after which Black had grabbed his head and dropped to the mat, instead of going for the cover. Castagnoli struggled to clear his head, and didn't quite get there. He tried to pick up a win with a flying body press, but Black rolled through it and wound up on top to score the pinfall on his battered opponent. WINNER: Ultramantis Black via pinfall (13:10) **½ The Roughnecks vs. Diamond SunDiamond Sun, struggling since their one-day reign as champions, were accompanied by Sugar Dunkerton, who was still very unhappy with Ophidian's presence on the team. They bickered (well, Dunkerton bickered and Ophidian hissed) all the way up the aisle, and the conflict extended into the match itself. The Roughnecks wrestled another dominant match, and had Ophidian in some real trouble. Dunkerton tried to help, but when he slid into the ring, Brodie Lee whipped the Egyptian icon into him, and both men were staggered. One more BIG BOOT spelled the end. WINNERS: The Roughnecks via pinfall (11:42) * Eddie Kingston via Tim DonstTim Donst was very vocal about not wanting to compete in this match. He said it in the locker room. He said it on CHIKARA's web site. He said it in the ring, just prior to the match. And ultimately, he said it by throwing Kingston through the ropes the first chance he got, and laying into him with a chair until the referee called the match off. WINNER: Eddie Kingston via disqualification (1:34) ½ MAIN EVENT: Shard vs. Jigsaw in a No-Disqualification MatchThis was billed as an "anything goes" encounter, and it absolutely lived up to the pre-match hype. The two men stared at one another in the center of the ring once the bell had sounded, then Jigsaw slid to the floor and retrieved a steel chair. Shard followed suit, and both men returned to the ring, going after one another with dueling chair shots, until Shard took the advantage. He tried to put Jigsaw away with his own JIG 'N' TONIC, but CHIKARA's de facto leader got his foot on the ropes. A SUPERKICK sent Jigsaw through the ropes to the floor, where he took advantage of the no-DQ stipulations to fight back--by means of a horrific blow from Gavin Loudspeaker's ringside monitor. Jigsaw exploited the rules--or lack thereof--further, taking a cue from Tim Donst and bashing Shard repeatedly with a chair, and another cue from Ares, choking him out with a cable. He motioned as if he were going to rip off Shard's mask--to an enormous ovation from the crowd--but a blatant low blow put an end to that plan, and allowed Shard to take control of the match again. Another JIG 'N' TONIC and another SUPERKICK still failed to put Jigsaw away. Shard tried whipping Jigsaw into the turnbuckle, but Jigsaw reversed the whip...and Shard reversed it again, sending Jigsaw into the corner chest-first. He charged for a clothesline, but Jigsaw sidestepped at the last minute, dropped to the mat, and rolled Shard up with a schoolboy to win the incredibly violent match with the most unlikely of maneuvers to send the crowd home happy. WINNER: Jigsaw via pinfall (12:45) ***

HCW Training Day October 12, 2012 Manhattan, NY This week's webcast opened with a video of footage from independent promotions, featuring some of the wrestlers who would (presumably) be involved in HCW once it was officially launched. Bryan Danielson, Kevin Steen, the Briscoe Brothers, CM Punk, and Christopher Daniels were no surprise, as they'd been involved with HCW events all along. Appearing for the first time: the Barking Spiders--Ox and Clutch, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, and newly-acquired talents Chuck Taylor and Mike Quackenbush. Once the intro package reached an end, the footage went directly to Mike Tenay and Dave Prazak, sitting at ringside. TENAY: "Welcome to another night of HCW Training Day Action, fans. And do we have a treat for you tonight!" PRAZAK: "That's right. With the Training Day competition winding down, and the formal launch of HCW coming up in just a few weeks, we're going to feature some of the talent you'll see each and every time HCW puts on a show." TENAY: "Tonight's format will be tag team action, as Coaches and Recruits team up to take on some of the tag teams who will be going after the HCW World Tag Team Championship." PRAZAK: "We'll also see the sole Recruit without an active Coach, Arya Daivairi, competing in singles action." TENAY: "Tonight will also be one of the last chances for the Recruits to vote for one of their own number to face elimination. At the end of the night, we'll be down to our Final Four!" Bryan Danielson & Mark Sterling vs. Night TrainThe team of Night Train--Willie Mack and Sabian (recently billed as Blk Jeez in CZW) was another new fixture in HCW, and came ready for action as they took on the HCW founder and his Recruit. Sterling started out the match, and had some early success against Willie Mack, but began to struggle once Sabian entered the contest, forcing Sterling to make a tag. Bryan Danielson showed why he's one of the best in the business (and indeed, the world) by taking it to both of their opponents, but when he went to tag Sterling back in, the Recruit had his back to the action, holding his shoulder and trying to work out a kink. The HCW figurehead was caught by surprise, and this allowed Sabian and Mack to jump him from behind and drag him away from his corner. They pressed their advantage with quick tags and double-teaming, though Danielson was able to escape their corner and attempt another tag, only to discover Sterling has dropped to the floor, still working on his arm. By the time Sterling was back on the apron, Mack had planted Danielson with a piledriver, and was making the cover...and Sterling merely stood in his corner and watched as the referee counted three! WINNERS: Night Train via pinfall (8:21) * Post-Match DramaAs soon as the bell had sounded, Sterling dropped off the apron and made his way up the aisle, without checking on his coach's condition after the piledriver...and apparently no longer bothered by his "arm injury." Ironically, it was Willie Mack and Sabian who helped Danielson to his feet, and they shouted their distaste at Sterling's retreating back. Delirious vs. Arya DaivairiDaivairi was obviously unhappy at being placed in this match--wrestling a white devil was one thing, but wrestling a masked crazy man was another. In the end, he proved utterly unable to solve the riddle of Delirious, who came to life as soon as the bell had sounded, broke Daivairi down quickly, and scored the pinfall after his BIZARRO DRIVER. WINNER: Delirious via pinfall (1:44) -- The Ultraviolents vs. Scorpio Sky & Bradley CharlesThe crowd went crazy when the team of Havoc and Masada were introduced, as they had been the first HCW wrestlers to take the fight with Chikara to their rivals' front door. Charles and Sky--ordinarily a popular duo--found themselves in the role of unappreciated quasi-heels, and it completely shattered their concentration. The 'violents cruised to an easy victory, simply breaking down both men until Havoc pinned Charles after his GENERAL ORDER 24. WINNERS: The Ultraviolents via pinfall (7:27) * Backstage DramaA cameraman was hurriedly following Bryan Danielson, who all but kicked in the door to the Recruits' locker room. Derek Wylde and Brian Ash quickly got out of his way, but the target for his wrath--Mark Sterling--simply remained seated, tying his sneakers. DANIELSON: "Mark! Mark, what the hell? What was that?" STERLING: "I don't know what you mean, Coach." DANIELSON: "You don't just hang someone out there like that! That's not what I'm teaching you!" STERLING: "Well, see--there's the problem. I'm not really into what you're teaching me. In fact, 'Coach,' I'm not really sure there's anything you can teach me!" DANIELSON: "I... What did you say?" STERLING: "Hey, facts are facts. I wasn't the one who got pinned out there--you did. If you can't even handle a couple chumps like Willie Mack and whatever the other guy is called this week, then I don't think I need you." DANIELSON: "Oh, is that a fact? Well, then, Mark--since you don't need my help, I guess you don't need the immunity I set up for you!" STERLING: "Hey, now...wait a second..." DANIELSON: "You think you can do this on your own? Fine! No immunity. Good luck dealing with the guys you've burned!" Danielson stormed out of the locker room, leaving Wylde and Ash to fill in Bradley Charles, who had just limped in, while Mark Sterling kicked his gym bag across the room. The Barking Spiders vs. Brian Kendrick & Derek WyldeThis match wasn't much to see, as it appeared both Kendrick and Wylde were individually better than either Ox or Clutch, but they lacked the teamwork necessary to put the duo away. After a fair amount of stumbling and questionable timing, Kendrick wound up pinning Ox with a victory roll. WINNERS: Brian Kendrick & Derek Wylde via pinfall (7:11) ½ The Tribe vs. Adam Pearce & Brian AshThis was the best match of the night--Pearce, Ash, and Navajo Warrior matched power in a series of hard-hitting, high-impact moves, while Hawaiian Lion's athleticism gave the fans a breathtaking show, though Pearce and Ash worked together to keep him grounded to the best of their ability. In the end, Navajo Warrior took a page from his partner's book and pulled off a surprise flying body press to pin Adam Pearce, taking the win for his team. WINNERS: The Tribe via pinfall (7:11) *½ Announcers' CommentaryTENAY: "The Tribe take the victory over Adam Pearce and Brian Ash, and what a win it was!" PRAZAK: "You're not kidding, Mike--I had no idea Navajo Warrior could get his huge, old ass that high!" TENAY: "Dave Prazak, risking life and limb to bring you this commentary, which everyone--including the Tribe--will be able hear via live webcast." PRAZAK: "The Tribe wouldn't lay a finger on me--I'm a national treasure." TENAY: "Let's go to the results of tonight's voting." STERLING: "The journey is almost over, and thank God--I am sick to death of these losers. Arya Daivairi, you're the next obstacle in my path, so it's time for you to go!"
DAIVARI: "If I had my way, I would vote for every single one of the infidels in this competition. But since I can only vote for one, I will vote for Bradley Charles, who has wronged me!"
CHARLES: "Well, with Sterling off limits, I may as well go after the number two most annoying guy in this thing, and that's you, Daivairi!"
WYLDE: "Finally! Finally, Bryan Danielson sees the light! Mark Sterling, you have run rampant on this thing long enough--I only hope it's not too late to get rid of you!"
ASH: "Sterling, looks like your number's up. Time to go."TENAY: "Well, Mark Sterling's tactical error in crossing the boss costs him two votes, but he's safe another week." PRAZAK: "And it appears we will not have an elimination match tonight, as after all the results are tallied, the person in last place also has the largest number of votes--and that's Bradley Charles, who is eliminated from the competition." TENAY: "That's absolutely right, fans--Bradley Charles' run in the Training Day competition is at its end. We should explain that--in addition to the votes, which carry over from week to week--the wrestlers are ranked according to their won-loss records, as well as being scored by the Coaches in a number of--" PRAZAK: "Hold on, Mike--we're getting word... Dammit, there's been another attack in the locker room!" TENAY: "What? I thought they had beefed up security!" PRAZAK: "Get a camera back there! Go! Go! Go!" The footage switched over to a remote camera, shaking as it was carried through the halls by a running cameraman. He rounded the corner, and came upon Kevin Steen, Ric Flair, Adam Pearce, and Roderick Strong, gathered around Brian Kendrick--who was conscious, and sitting up, bot holding his head and obviously half out of it. Just as the cameraman set up shop, Flair and Steen were helping him sit up, and Bryan Danielson, Jimmy Jacobs, and Steve Corino. FLAIR: "Careful with him--careful! Kendrick, you okay?" DANIELSON: "What happened? What the hell happened?" PEARCE: "We should be asking you that, Bryan! When are you going to get some goddamn control back here?" DANIELSON: "Not now, Pearce!" FLAIR: "Kendrick... Brian, did you see anything?" KENDRICK: "Uh... Oh, man... He hit me from behind, but... I fell on my side... Got a look..." DANIELSON: "Got a look? Who was it? Who did you see?" KENDRICK: "Rob... It was Rob!" DANIELSON: "Rob? Rob who? Brian! Brian!" CORINO: "He's going out--did anyone call 911?" DANIELSON: "Brian! Rob who?" Kendrick slumped back, and Flair and Steen eased him back to the ground. Struggling to move, Kendrick raised his arms, curled his fists, extended his thumbs...and pointed to himself three times: the trademark pose of Rob Van Dam. Flair finally noticed the cameraman, and ordered someone to get rid of him. Jimmy Jacobs moved forward, and the feed went black, ending the webcast in highly dramatic fashion.

HCW Training Day October 19, 2012 Manhattan, NY Another webcast opened with the HCW Intro Package, featuring some of the stars that will debut in HCW at their first show, scheduled for December 1st. As the credits faded, the video feed switched to the announce team. TENAY: "Welcome to another HCW Webcast--" PRAZAK: "And welcome to Fort Knox!" TENAY: "Yes, fans, the Manhattan Center is on lockdown. There's security posted at every entrance, extra guards patrolling the halls, and all of them are looking for one man." PRAZAK: "And that man is Rob Van Dam." TENAY: "According to Brian Kendrick, RVD is the man responsible for the attacks on our Coaches backstage, and word has it Bryan Danielson plans to call him out later tonight. But until then, to protect the roster, arena security, private security--even off-duty police have been brought in to detain Rob Van Dam if he shows his face." PRAZAK: "Meanwhile, we have a Round Robin tournament featuring the Final Four Recruits, facing off in singles competition." TENAY: "No more voting, fans. Tonight, the man who finishes in last place will be eliminated. No reprieves, no second chances. It's win and you're in." PRAZAK: "Lose and you...do something rhyming with lose." TENAY: "Let's go to the ring for our opening contest!" Mark Sterling vs. Derek WyldeNow that Sterling had lost the protection of HCW Founder Bryan Danielson, Derek Wylde had the first crack at venting some frustration on his person--and vent he did. He went straight on the attack, hammering Sterling with punches, kicks, and essentially sending him into full retreat. Sterling slithered out to the floor, and Wylde followed, taking him down with a big lariat, then grabbing a chair, the timekeeper's bell...anything he could grab. If he couldn't swing it and hit Sterling, he threw it at him, forcing the referee to call off the match. WINNER: Mark Sterling via disqualification (1:42) -- Arya Daivairi vs. Brian AshThe match went about how one would expect. Ash's size and strength allowed him to overpower his opponent, while Daivairi's speed and cunning kept him from getting completely dominated. Eventually, Daivairi was able to lure his opponent into making a mistake, and he pounced, unfurling his prayer rug and hitting a MAGIC CARPET RIDE for the three-count. WINNER: Arya Daivairi by pinfall (14:33) * Mark Sterling vs. Brian AshThe luck of the draw worked against Ash here, as he never really had a chance to recover from the miscalculation (and the MAGIC CARPET RIDE) that cost him the match against Daivairi. With his chest, ribs, and back already hurting, Ash fell victim to Sterling's slams, suplexes, and ultimately the MARKSHOOTER. WINNER: Mark Sterling via submission (4:18) * Arya Daivairi vs. Derek WyldeThe match started out even, though Daivairi was more fatigued than Wylde, and it began to show fairly quickly. Once Wylde got on a roll, he never looked back...and planted Daivairi with a DANGER DRIVER...but Daivairi got his foot across the bottom rope! Wylde dragged him to the center of the ring and hit another DANGER DRIVER...only to have Daivairi kick out at two. The crowd ooo'ed and aah'ed, and Wylde pounded the mat in frustration. One more DANGER DRIVER, and that was the end. WINNER: Derek Wylde via pinfall (6:36) * Mark Sterling vs. Arya DaivairiThis time, the luck of the draw worked against Arya Daivairi, as he could barely stand when Mark Sterling came out to take him on. Sterling hit him with everything he had, but once again, Daivairi showed incredible heart and refused to stay down. A front power slam only got him a two-count. A stiff double-leg tackle barely got one before Daivairi reached the ropes, and a fierce clothesline sent him crashing into the corner to avoid a count altogether. Sterling came completely unglued as Daivairi thwarted him at every turn, and went to the floor to grab the very chair Derek Wylde had used on him. The referee tried to restrain Sterling, grabbing the chair, only to be flung to the mat, where he called for the bell immediately. WINNER: Arya Daivairi via disqualification (5:45) ½ In-Ring Promo: Bryan DanielsonThe distinctly 80's synthesizer riff of The Final Countdown brought the crowd to their feet...and brought Bryan Danielson to the ring. He was dressed in wrestling gear, and he appeared extremely angry as he hit the ring, microphone in hand. DANIELSON: "You know...there are some things I just don't get. When people eat double quarter pounders from McDonalds every day for lunch, then wonder why their cholesterol is so high, I don't get it! When someone goes through school without coming to class, or opening a book, then act surprised when they fail, I don't get it! And Rob Van Dam...why you felt the need to come into my house and take out my wrestlers... I will never, ever get!" CROWD: "Yay!" DANIELSON: "Hell, Rob, if you wanted a slot on the roster, I'd have given you one! You're one of the best out there! But instead, you pull this crap?" CROWD: "Van Dam sucks! Van Dam sucks!" DANIELSON: "So, Rob, here's the deal. I had to lock this place down, just to keep you out of here tonight. But next week, I want you in the Manhattan Center. i want you to look me in the eye, and if you want to take a shot, take your shot! I want you to--" Without warning, Pantera's Walk erupted from the speakers, and the crowd leapt to their feet. Danielson looked shocked as Van Dam's music began playing, but he knuckled up and braced for a fight as Rob Van Dam strode out from the back... Except it wasn't Rob Van Dam, but someone else wearing a custom singlet that matched one of RVD's. A dark wig came off, revealing the long blond hair of... TENAY: "Jerry Lynn! That's Jerry Lynn!" PRAZAK: "What the hell is he doing here? Was he the one responsible for the attacks?" Lynn strode purposefully down the aisle, slid underneath the bottom rope, and came nose to nose with Bryan Danielson. At the founder's order, the house microphone was procured for Lynn, and he took a step back. LYNN: "What's the matter, Bryan? Expecting somebody else?" Danielson was utterly flabbergasted, and unable to respond. LYNN: "Let me save you the trouble, Bryan. Was it me, taking out McGuinness and Kendrick and Young? Yes! Was it me, coming into...what did you call it? 'Your house?' Yes! You had everyone looking for Rob Van Dam, and they just let everyone else through." DANIELSON: "Why would--" LYNN: Why, Bryan? Why? I'll tell you why! When you were putting together this 'dream roster' of champions from all over the country, putting together everyone's dream matches for 'the most important title in wrestling,' let me ask you one question. Where the hell was my phone call?" DANIELSON: "Jerry, I--" LYNN: "No, you know what, Bryan? Don't answer. Don't answer, because I get it. I've spent my whole life dealing with insecure buttholes like you. No matter where I went, I was the one busting my ass, trying to give the fans a show, but did I get the recognition? Did I get the title shots? No! No, they went to some insecure jerk who was a mark for his own hype! It went to 'the Whole Effing Show,' or to 'the Best in the World.' And where did that leave me, huh? Where did that leave Jerry Freaking Lynn?" DANIELSON: "You know what, Jerry? You want to be in HCW so badly? Fine! Fine, come on in and--" LYNN: "Oh, what? You think it's just that easy? You're going to dangle a contract in front of me and I'll jump at it like some damn show dog? I've watched you keeping people down long enough!" DANIELSON: "Keeping people down? Jerry, this whole competition has been about getting some exposure for guys who never got the breaks in this business!" LYNN: "And you overlooked one of the hottest young talents in the sport...why, exactly?" DANIELSON: "Who did I forget, Jerry? Who?" On cue, a man jumped over the ringside barricade, evaded security, and slid into the ring. Danielson recognized him, and waved security off. LYNN: "This man is one of the hottest talents in this industry: J.D. Michaels! And if you want me in HCW, you'll make up for overlooking him right now, and give him a shot at this little competition. And if you don't want us involved, fine! But you'd better have the bankroll to keep this place locked down every single week, because you never know when we'll be back. And you'll never know who else will join our cause!" DANIELSON: "You know what, Lynn--maybe I was wrong about RVD, but I was right about one thing. If you'd called me like a man and asked for a shot, I'd have been happy... No, I would have been honored to have you in HCW. But you want to play this game? Fine! I'll tell you what--our last match was going to be Brian Ash against Derek Wylde, and if Brian lost, he was gone from the competition. So I'll take Derek out of the match, and put your boy in. Winner gets to stay in the competition, loser goes home. And Lynn, win or lose, I want you...I'm begging you to come on board, because I want you right in this ring, where I can make you tap!" Danielson threw the microphone down in absolute anger, summoning a referee--and Brian Ash--to the ring to make the match official. Brian Ash vs. J.D. MichaelsAsh knew his professional life--and the pride of HCW--were on the line in this match, and his performance in the match showed that. He came out of the gates at full speed, and used his power advantage to toss Michaels around the ring. He picked up a couple near-falls, and flattened Michaels with a DEVASTATOR, but Jerry Lynn (who had remained at ringside) grabbed his charge's foot and draped it across the bottom rope. Infuriated, Ash rolled out of the ring and chased after Lynn, who quickly took flight, making a complete circuit around the ring until Michaels could get into position and level him with a clothesline. He rolled Ash back into the ring and scored a near-fall with a Northern Lights Suplex, then went on full offense, driving Ash into the mat over and over again, and finally scoring the pinfall after a FLYING ELBOW DROP. WINNER: J.D. Michaels via pinfall (9:29) ** Post-Match DramaJerry Lynn and J.D. Michaels celebrated in the ring, and Brian Ash was too stunned to even realize he was out of the competition. The shocking developments in the last half hour left the announce team stunned to near-silence. PRAZAK: "Mike...what just happened?" TENAY: "Fans, we've just seen... Apparently, Jerry Lynn and J.D. Michaels are part of HCW." PRAZAK: "Danielson has got to get this thing under control." TENAY: "We'll have...more about this next week. Fans, we'll... This is unbelievable. We'll be back next week, fans." The webcast came to an end, leaving many things unresolved, but the fans remained on their feet, voicing their support for the home team. CROWD: "H! C! W! H! C! W! H! C! W!"

HCW Training Day October 26, 2012 Manhattan, NY The webcast opened with the same video package as previous weeks, but this time, instead of cutting right to the announce team, the screen faded to black and a new graphic aired: HCW Genesis 12/1/12 TENAY: "Welcome to this historic night, fans--the very last broadcast of HCW Training Day. After tonight, we'll be down to three competitors--" PRAZAK: "Should've been two." TENAY: "Dave Prazak, talking of course about the shocking debut of Jerry Lynn and J.D. Michaels, who earned his way into the competition at the eleventh hour with a big win over Brian Ash, who got ousted in the process." PRAZAK: "Tonight will feature another Round Robin Tournament, giving these guys one last chance to feel each other out. And one more time, the wrestler who finishes with the fewest points will be done." TENAY: "After that, it will all come down to the votes of the Coaches, the Recruits, and you, the fans--but we'll have more on that later tonight. Let's go to the ring for our first match!" J.D. Michaels (with Jerry Lynn) vs. Derek WyldeWylde was clearly unhappy that Michaels has snuck his way into the competition, and was determined to make the newcomer pay for his intrusion. Wylde went after Michaels right from the opening bell, and hammered him with slams, suplexes, elbows, and a few other choice (and not entirely legal) moves. The referee seemed to turn a blind eye to most of Wylde's illegal tactics, leading many to speculate that Bryan Danielson had instructed Wylde be given a fair amount of leeway in competing against Michaels. Towards the end of the match, Wylde had just planted Michaels with the DANGER DRIVER, but Jerry Lynn climbed onto the apron to complain about Wylde's constant bending of the rules. He dropped to the floor as Wylde came after him, and wound up chasing the former World Champion all the way around the ring...until Michaels popped up out of nowhere with a lariat! Both coach and recruit began laying into Wylde with kicks, prompting the suddenly by-the-book official to throw the match out. WINNER: Derek Wylde via disqualification (5:14) * Mark Sterling vs. Arya DaivairiDespite his paranoid claims of racism and generally obnoxious behavior, Daivairi had impressed many fans the previous week with his resilience. Building on the previous week's momentum, Daivairi tried to capitalize with some early offense, and even picked up a couple near falls, but Sterling was simply too tough. Turning the tables on Daivairi, Sterling picked up a near fall with a front power slam, then another after a devastating spear, then a third after a vicious neckbreaker, but Daivairi simply refused to stay down! His inability to put Daivairi away sent Sterling into a rage. He dragged his opponent to the floor, scooped him up, and drove him--back first--into the steel ring post, again and again, almost getting counted out in the process. He rolled into the ring to break the count, and delivered another front power slam, this time onto the arena floor! With Daivairi holding his back and writhing in agony, Sterling rolled him back into the ring and clamped on the MARKSHOOTER, forcing an almost immediate submission. WINNER: Mark Sterling via submission (9:22) *** J.D. Michaels (with Jerry Lynn) vs. Arya DaivairiDaivairi's luck was positively abysmal in drawing the next match, as his back was spasming so badly, he could barely stand. Michaels toyed with him a bit, then--on Jerry Lynn's instruction--put him away with a Northern Lights Suplex. WINNER: J.D. Michaels via pinfall (4:31) ½ Mark Sterling vs. Derek WyldeThis was a classic match-up between two men unwilling to budge an inch, and perfectly happy to throw the rulebook out the window. While it started out as a technically sound battle, which was split fairly evenly between the two men, it soon degenerated into a slugfest, then a wild brawl. While Wylde got the better of the fight, he wound up taking things a bit too far, and the referee was forced to disqualify him for smashing Sterling with a steel chair. WINNER: Mark Sterling via disqualification (9:55) ** Post-Match DramaAfter the bell had sounded, Derek Wykde began arguing with the referee, who firmly stood his ground. In the middle of this argument, a groggy Mark Sterling retrieved his own chair from ringside, rolled back into the ring, and clocked Wylde with an unprotected chair shot to the head which dropped him cold. Arya Daivairi vs. Derek WyldeWylde's luck could not have been worse. Daivairi poked Wyde with his toe a few times, and delivered an elbow drop to ensure he wasn't faking, then finally hit his MAGIC CARPET RIDE to score the pinfall. WINNER: Arya Daivairi via pinfall (2:00) -- Post-Match CommentaryPRAZAK: "A rough break for Derek Wylde...and even rougher news. With his last match in the books, he trails his nearest fellow Recruit by ten points, which means this really was his last match in HCW!" TENAY: "Indeed, Dave. Derek Wylde, mathematically eliminated from the tournament tonight, which means he is out of the competition, and we have our three finalists: Arya Daivairi, Mark Sterling, and J.D. Michaels." PRAZAK: "One of these things is not like the others..." TENAY: "That means that this last match won't be about points or standings, it will be about pride." PRAZAK: "And with Mark Sterling taking on J.D. Michaels, you have to think Bryan Danielson is in the back, hoping the lighting fixtures collapse and take out both men..." Mark Sterling vs. J.D. Michaels (with Jerry Lynn)A good minute and a half of this match's opening two minute was spent in arguing, threatening, and generally posturing. Another good minute was taken up as the duo exchanged shoves, pushes, and eventually slaps across the face. That seemed to wake up both men, and Michaels went on the offensive, throwing Sterling into the ropes and going for a front dropkick...only to have Sterling catch his legs, drop him to the mat, and tie on his MARKSHOOTER, forcing Michaels to tap out before Jerry Lynn could even make it into the ring. WINNER: Mark Sterling via submission (3:35) ½ Post-Match CommentaryPRAZAK: "Wow! A dominant showing by Mark Sterling, and I'll tell you what. This kid makes me think about hanging up the headset and going back into managing!" TENAY: "Mark Sterling goes undefeated on the day, and winds up with fifty big points out of a possible sixty. Daivairi and Michaels with twenty, and Derek Wylde eliminated with only ten points for his DQ win." PRAZAK: "And now, with the Training Day broadcasts at an end, it's time for the final ballots to see who will be eligible for the HCW contract." TENAY: "And don't forget the HCW Heritage Championship!" PRAZAK: "I would never forget that, Mike Tenay. With the gold comes all the power and all the money." TENAY: "Over the next few weeks, all the Recruits who took place in the tournament will cast their votes for which of these three men deserve a shot at an HCW contract. The coaches will have a separate vote as well." PRAZAK: "And later today, voting will go live on the HCW website, so that you--the fans--can cast your own votes for who impressed you the most in this tournament." TENAY: "We'll reveal the results of all three votes at our first major pay-per-view, HCW Genesis on December First. If one man wins all three votes, he will be handed the title and the contract without even competing." PRAZAK: "If the votes are split two ways, those two men will compete in a match at Genesis, and if they're split three ways, it will be a triple threat match!" TENAY: "Keep your eyes peeled to the HCW website to watch for the ballot, and for video comments from all three finalists. This is your chance to make HCW History fans, so don't forget to vote. We'll see you on the First for Genesis!"
