Hello once more, dear interweb peoples to another episode of the CHIKARA Event Center! I am your Master of Ceremonies, CHIKARA Senior Official Bryce Remsburg!
What a show we had for you just three nights ago in Reading, Pennsylvania at, “The Stink of Beauty” with new Campeones de Parejas being crowned in the Swiss alliance of Claudio Castagnoli and Ares, AKA Swiss Money Holding!
Following up on such a thrilling card, we look forward to the next CHIKARA outing where we’ll be back in Easton, Pennsylvania on April 25 for our next show,
“Easton Promise” and already two HUGE matches have been signed!
Now, those of you who saw, “The Stink of Beauty” 72 hours ago will be aware that a certain, shall we say “eating tool ideal for scooping up delicious frozen deserts” was confiscated by a very brave and really quite handsome CHIKARA referee on the night. After months of squabbling between Soldier Ant and El Hijo del Ice Cream for possession of said “implement”, it has been decided by CHIKARA management that enough is, as they say, enough!
Safely hidden in my mom’s basement, the infamous Giant Wooden Spoon of CHIKARA will remain there under lock and key until April 25 when, under armed guard and a police escort, the spoon will be transported to Easton for the first ever
ULTIMATE UTENSIL-X match in pro wrestling history!
Los Ice Creams and The Colony will square off in a tornado style tag team contest that will feature two cables, connected to metal structures rising from the four corners of the ring, cross fifteen feet above the middle of the ring! The Giant Wooden Spoon will be suspended from where the cables cross and the first team to take possession of the hanging spoon will be able to use it against their opponents in this no disqualification, no count out environment where the only way to win is via pinfall or submission!
I can’t quite believe that I have just previewed an
ULTIMATE UTENSIL-X match but this is CHIKARA after all! Who will emerge victorious in this unique and innovative collision and what will be left of them?!
Our Main Event at
“Easton Promise” in eleven nights time is an Atomico match featuring eight wrestlers who share an awful lot of history and bad blood.
The 2003 King of Trios, ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Champion “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney, “King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston and King of Trios Finals MVP Daizee Haze will team with the “Most Money Making Man”, co-holder of Los Campeonatos de Parejas, Claudio Castagnoli to take on the tecnico team of Young Lions Cup Champion El Generico, Sara Del Rey, “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush and the “Funky Pharaoh” Amasis!
As stated, this octave of enemies are no strangers to one another. Castagnoli of course has been feuding with Sara Del Rey all year and just three nights ago submitted El Generico to win Los Campeonatos de Parejas for Swiss Money Holding. Prior to that in March, Sara and Generico’s team had knocked Claudio’s team out of King of Trios in the Semi Finals of the tournament.
Amasis too has endured multiple clashes with Castagnoli since January and fallen more than once to the Swiss banker’s dreaded Ricola Bomb! This will be a great opportunity for the Egyptian to even the odds with the current tag team Champion.
Mike Quackenbush also has a past with Castagnoli, having battled with him throughout 2002 alongside his partner Jigsaw against Claudio and Eddie Kingston. Quack and Jigsaw famously defeated Castagnoli and Kingston near the end of last season, forcing the two rudos to forever disband as a tag team! That will surely be very fresh in the minds of Castagnoli and Kingston going into this Atomico…
And that brings us nicely onto Sweet & Sour International who have upset just about everyone in CHIKARA over the last eleven months! Sweeney and Daizee have battled Generico and Del Rey more than once for Los Campeonatos de Parejas and Sweeney and Generico have clashed over the Young Lions Cup too with no love lost! You’ll recall also that Sweet & Sour International won King of Trios at the expense of Generico and Del Rey who made it all the way to the finals of the tournament before being unceremoniously dumped out of the competition when Daizee dropped Sara on her head with a piledriver on the floor to seal the King of Trios victory for Sweet & Sour International!
