Welcome to the thread for my Ring of Honor fed results!
It’s taken me a few tries to get the setup I was looking for and to fine-tune the history I was looking to start with. Strap yourselves in, because this is a long one, but just as much for me as anyone else and certainly not necessary to your enjoyment of the fed if you plan on following it.
Based on the official wrestlers released through not only the ROH sets, but LOTF, CHIKARA, CZW, CWFH, & EVOLVE, I’ve decided to turn the page back a bit and begin my version of ROH in 2009. Most of the actual real-world ROH history prior to this will be intact and followed by my fed, however there will be a few deviations.
Most of these deviations will be covered in the upcoming “ROH Newswires”, but there are a few I’ll set forth now:
Roster: While I will attempt to mirror the official ROH roster circa 2009 there are some limitations with official card availability and I’m not yet ready to integrate any bootlegs into my fed, tho that is something I’m certainly open to doing in the future. This also means that for some talent I’ll be using their initial cards from LOTF (example: this gives me the chance to use a slightly less powerful Kevin Steen, saving his ROH card for later as he becomes more prominent.). Other wrestlers may debut “early” or stick around after they’d actually left for “greener pastures”. For instance, one will note right away that AJ Styles will be in ROH in 2009 and not in TNA.
Factions: In order to better establish some of the feuding I’ll have going on at the beginning, the Age of the Fall and the Hangman 3 will still be around and kicking in 2009. Rocky Romero and Roderick Strong will still wrestle occasionally as No Remorse Corps, but Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards have just started to team up as the American Wolves.
Championships: The ROH World Heavyweight Championship, ROH World Tag Team Championships, and the ROH World Television Championship will all be active.
Tournaments: I will be holding three tournaments per game year: Survival of the Fittest (6 qualifying matches leading to a 6-man elimination match, winner holds title for 1 year and gets ROH World title shot), Tag Wars Tournament (one night tag tournament, winners receive ROH Tag Title shot and hold honor for 1 year), Top Prospect Tournament (Winner is awarded automatic contract to ROH, losers may be offered one based on performance, but may also be cut from roster, winner also receives automatic TV Title shot).
Interpromotional Relationships: There is a very good chance I will integrate CZW, CHIKARA, and EVOLVE wrestlers (not just the talent that has historically over-lapped), perhaps even scheduling interpromotional bouts and title matches as I see fit. Additionally, Pro Wrestling NOAH and/or NJPW will have “working relationships” with ROH (obviously through the use of bootleg wrestlers if and when I decide to utilize them or make some of my own).
Schedule: Though I will be following (for the most part) the established history of ROH prior to 2008 (2008-June 2009 will be a little more nebulous, see factions), scheduling will be somewhat different with a supercard every three months and one big TV taping per month split across 4 weekly one hour television programs. These will likely be two night stands in one location. Sometimes supercards will include an extra night of action as well. It all begins with Best in the World on June 20th 2009!
Rules: No double champions. Code of Honor will be followed. Time limits will be enforced as follows: 15 minute prelim TV matches and 30 minute TV main event matches. Television title will be contested with 15 minute time limit on ROH TV and a 30 minute time limit at supercards. ROH World and Tag titles will have a 60 minute time limit each.
I’m really looking forward to beginning this ROH fed. Much like my GWF Classics fed, results will come in batches with some breaks here and there depending on my availability to play the game. Hope whoever decides to take the plunge and read along enjoys! Thanks for reading!
