I was reading an article about the K the Vikings drafted. In the article I learned how the Vikings being impatient was a good thing for the Raiders. The Vikings drafted a K in the 5th round of the 2018 draft. He went 1-4 on FGs in the first couple games so they cut him. He then signed with the Raiders and has been with them since. I am talking about Daniel Carlson who has made almost 90% of his FGs with the Raiders and about a 1/3 of his misses were from 50 yards or more. In fact, since the start of the 2019 season Carlson has converted more FGs than anyone except Justin Tucker. One bad move by the Vikings front office has been a boost for the Raiders.

Raiders getting romped by the Panthers...ouch. As bad as it was for the Raiders it might be worse for the Panthers. I mean, think about it. They look horrible in the first two games, replace the #1 over pick at QB with 67 year old Andy Dalton and they look like contenders.

Does say something about Bryce Young I think.

Does say something about Bryce Young I think. I don't watch a lot of NFL these days but part of me wonders if his struggles could be due to being put into the starting role before he's ready. The past 10-15 years teams seem to be putting these young QB's out there straight out of college and expect them to be superstars immediately. Sure, some of them are ready to be starters right away but not all of them; that's why the NHL and MLB have the minor leagues. Instead of being thrown directly to the wolves some of these young quarterbacks could probably benefit from the olden day mentality of sitting on the bench for a few years with a clipboard and learning from the veterans.

Green Bay's Jordan Love is another good example of what you are correctly saying. but the Panthers choice of Bryce Young over CJ Stroud was stil a major failure. I have read that both the Carolina coach and general manager wanted to select Stroud but the Panthers owner forced them to take Bryce Young which was horrible especially since they traded key assets to get to that #1 pick in that article I also read the Panthers owner drove past a local restraunt where there was a sign saying "Please let the coach and general manager make the picks" and the owner actually stopped and went into the restraunt and chewed out the restraunt managment about the sign lol.

To be fair I thought it was the right pick at the time. I think part of the difference is the Texans have better players than Carolina especially on offense. As far as sitting a QB, the best recent example is Aaron Rodgers. Love looks to be following in his footsteps.

The coach is not happy and it sounds like he thinks players didn't play hard and made "business decisions". Makes me think of Roger Dorn in Major League.
