Kowalski downs X with an overhead body slam and sinks on his signature Claw Hold for the win.

The program opens with still-shots of the results from “A Grand Arrival.” Bill Mercer, now hosting the program solo, welcomes viewers from ringside. Mercer notes that tonight we will hear from the new RWF World Champion as well as the new RWF Tag Team Champions. Mercer hypes up some matches for tonight including a Tiger Mask vs. Jushin Liger rematch from the PPV, a big 8-man tag match, and the RWF television debut of lucha libre superstar Mil Mascaras. Mercer notes he has the pleasure to announce something even bigger – the RWF Summer Tag League starting next week on television with the finals to take place at the next PPV on August 27th in Charlotte entitled “Charlotte Showdown.” Mercer informs viewers to stick around until the end of the program to see the blocks for the tournament. Mercer then pitches it to the ring for our first bout.
Greg “The Hammer” Valentine vs. Antonio RigatoniValentine proudly carries his Saskatoon Survival trophy to the ring and places it on the announce desk before the bell rings. Rigatoni attempts a top wristlock. Valentine powers out of the hold and lights up the rookies chest with multiple vicious chops for a nearfall. Valentine quickly follows up with a falling elbow hammer for the victory.
Winner: Greg “The Hammer” Valentine
Afterwards, Valentine retrieves his trophy from the announce desk and is interviewed by Mercer. Valentine brags about his Saskatoon Survival win from weeks ago and complains that he should be the #1 Contender for the RWF World Championship. Valentine issues a challenge to champion Harley Race as the crowd jeers.
A pretape promo airs from The Sandman. He talks about his quick loss to Ox Baker at the PPV and admits that sometimes his vices get the better of him. Sandman claims that he has found a partner for the upcoming Summer Tag League – someone who will provide him the help he needs.
Tiger Mask vs. Jushin “Thunder” LigerBoth men shake hands as the bell rings. Mercer talks about their show-stealing match from the PPV and the amazing athleticism and sportsmanship showed by the combatants. Tiger starts fast-and-furious by immediately rushing at his opponent. Expecting the move, Liger executes a tilt-a-whirl and downs Tiger with a tombstone piledriver. Liger knocks Tiger to the floor with a palm-strike and follows with a Liger Dive to applause from the crowd. Back in the ring, Liger scales the turnbuckles. Tiger quickly ascends the corner and executes a superplex. Liger rolls to the floor to recover. Tiger follows with a Space Flying Tiger Drop to the outside. The crowd cheers for both men as they recover and return to the ring. Tiger lands a back suplex and climbs to the top rope. Tiger leaps off, but Liger catches him with a perfectly timed dropkick. Liger quickly hits a devastating brainbuster for the pinfall.
Winner: Jushin “Thunder” Liger
Afterwards, Liger helps Tiger back to his feet and both men hug. Liger holds up both hands with fingers raised to signify that they are now 1-1 in singles competition.
Backstage “Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews RWF World Champion Harley Race. Okerlund offers Race congratulations on his dominant victory at the PPV. Race states that unlike the prior champion, he will be defending his title on a regular basis. Race accepts Valentine’s challenge from earlier in the program and offers to put the title on the line next week on Wrestle Weekly TV.
“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert makes his way to the ring sporting an obnoxious pair of sunglasses. Gilbert grabs the microphone and addresses the crowd. “Ladies and gentleman – please hold your applause. 1 week ago I made my RWF debut and I defeated not one, not two, but three of the biggest names in this company on my first night in. Let me repeat that – my first night in. Bobo Brazil and Sabu were both left staring up at the lights as I pinned them to the mat without even breaking a sweat. The Sheik thought he could stop my momentum, but unfortunately it blew up in his face. Let me tell you something Sheik – if you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.” Gilbert’s laughter is cut short as the lights in the arena suddenly go out. When the lights turn back on, Sabu is standing in the ring holding a steel chair. The microphone audibly clunks to the canvas as Gilbert quickly exits the ring and makes his escape.
“Mean” Gene Okerlund hosts a recurring segment from the RWF event center. Clips are shown of the Red Bastien/Roddy Piper confrontation at the PPV. Okerlund states that due to safety concerns both men were barred from the arena tonight. Okerlund teases all sorts of rumors he’s heard about the upcoming Summer Tag League including a possible team from Japan participating along with some teams making their RWF debuts. Okerlund states he has heard from a reliable source that Gorgeous George is searching high-and-low for a partner. Clips are shown of Ande The Giant’s debut at the PPV. Okerlund wonders when we will see Andre next. Okerlund talks about the heinous actions of Eddie Gilbert using a fireball on The Sheik. Okerlund states that Sheik suffered serious burns to his face and it is unknown when and if he will be able to return to the ring.
The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Ted DiBiase, & King Kong Bundy vs. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers, “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, & Bruiser BrodyIron Sheik and Brody start things off. Both men lock-up and have a stalemate. Sheik hits the ropes and falls to the mat hard after running into a shoulder tackle from Brody. Brody husses and shoots Sheik into the turnbuckle. Brody charges in with a running big boot, but Sheik avoids it. Brody crashes violently into the corner and is rolled up by Sheik for a nearfall. Volkoff tags in and downs the big man with a backbreaker drop. The heels knock the faces off the apron as Volkoff gets the pinfall.
Winners: The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Ted DiBiase, & King Kong Bundy
Afterwards, Sheik and Volkoff make sure the faces can’t enter the ring as DiBiase and Bundy put the boots to Brody. DiBiase barks orders as Bundy squashes Brody with multiple splashes. Mercer states on commentary that this is an obvious scheme to injure Brody before the upcoming Summer Tag League.
Backstage “Mean” Gene Okerlund attempts to interview Nick Bockwinkle and Bobby Heenan. Heenan quickly shouts over Okerlund and doesn’t let him ask any questions. Heenan calls Bockwinkle the real world champion and claims that Bockwinkle had a clause in his contract that he can get a rematch for that title whenever he wants it. Heenan excitedly states that Bockwinkle will become the first man in RWF history to hold the world title and tag team titles simultaneously. Heenan ends by warning the locker room that the family is getting back together.
Mil Mascaras vs. Bob CrabappleMascaras gets a huge pop from the Arizona crowd for his television debut. Crabapple shamelessly goes for an eye gouge as his opening move. Mascaras blocks the attack, takes Crabapple to the mat, and works him over with an Indian deathlock. Mascaras then transitions to an octopus hold. Mascaras creates a bit of distance before executing a rolling head scissors and a cross body attack for the victory.
Winner: Mil Mascaras
A pretaped promo airs from “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Piper mocks RWF for banning him from the arena over concern about him attempting to cash in on the bounty on Bastien. Piper warns Bastien that he better have eyes in the back of his head. “I’m coming for you Bastien – see you soon!”
Bill Mercer stands in the ring with new RWF Tag Team Champions The Destroyer & Frank Gotch. Mercer talks about their quick victory at the PPV and asked how it felt to get their hands raised. Before either man could answer, The Valiants and Capt. Lou Albano walked out onto the stage. Albano calls the new champions bums and claims that they used foreign objects, covered themselves in baby oil, and paid off the referee in order to beat his men. The Killer Bees suddenly storm the stage and attack The Valiants from behind as Albano runs for the hills. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ring, The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering jump the guardrail. Ellering points to the champions in the ring as The Road Warriors charge the ring and attack Destroyer and Gotch from behind. The Warriors leave both men laying and spit on the RWF Tag Team titles.
Back on commentary, Mercer talks about the tag team turmoil going on in the RWF. Mercer announces that the Summer Tag League begins next week and will continue throughout the summer with matchups taking place on Wrestle Weekly TV as well as live events. The League will be a round-robin tournament consisting of two blocks with eight teams in each. A win will earn a team 2 points, a draw will earn a team 1 point, and a loss earns the team 0 points. In the end, the team with the best record from Block A will meet the team with the best record from Block B to determine the overall winners. Mercer breaks the news that Harley Race defending the RWF World Championship against Greg “The Hammer” Valentine has been signed for next week’s program before announcing the teams in both blocks:
