OWL Episode 22
07.07.2116 from Deimos Interplanetary Sports Arena
- In the back... -
Prior to the opening match, OMEGA Commissioner Jack Diamond appeared on the Jumbotron (to overwhelming boos from the OWL fans in attendance and cheers from those fans there to see the MMA action of OMEGA) and announced that tonight would feature the last of the qualifying matches to see who would challenge the Queendom for the OWL Tag TeamTitles. He said that Billie Jayne Boxer and Nova had not established enough of a record together, so it would be Boxer and his daughter Heart taking on...the A-List (who were winless). This announcement drew even more hostility from the crowd.
Before he could wrap up his comments, a page entered into the scene, whispering something in Commissioner Diamond's ear. Looking concerned, the commissioner jumped to his feet and ran out the door and down the hall, followed by the page and the cameraman. There, amid a pile of debris including several sections of pipe and a dented chair, Heart was laid out and unconscious. Commissioner Diamond called for medical help and the camera cut to black.
- Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match -
Billie Jayne Boxer vs. The A-List
Velvet defeated Billie Jayne Boxer with a sunset flip at 5:15
Match Rating: 0.50
Match Notes: With her Legacy partner Nova already booked in a match, and Commissioner Diamond distracted by the attack on his daughter, no one appointed a replacement for Heart, sending Billie Jayne Boxer into a handicap match. Boxer held her own for a moment or two-bit the numbers game just overwhelmed her, and she wound up getting pinned by Velvet.
Elektra vs. Nova
Nova defeated Elektra with a slingshot senton at 7:36
Match Rating: 1.50
Match Notes: Despite putting on an impressive showing and even hitting her COSMIC FORCE for a long two-count, Elektra continued to struggle. Nova managed a comeback after being hit with Elektra's finisher and never let up, eventually taking the pinfall win.
- Street Fight -
Bastet and Leviathan vs. The Valkyries
Bastet defeated Strike with a roundhouse kick at 2:15
Match Rating: 0.50
Match Notes: The Valkyries never knew what hit them. Bastet and Leviathan charged at the Aethran duo before the opening bell and refused to give an inch. Leviathan clotheslined Heat over the top rope, leaving Strike at Bastet's mercy--which was non-existent.
- In the ring... -
After the match, Heat picked up a folding chair from ringside and laid out Leviathan with a wild shot to the head. When Bastet reached through the ropes to assist, she ate a chair shot to the head as well, knocking her out. As Bastet crumpled to the mat, Heat and a recovering Strike wrapped the chair around the Kilrathi half-breed's neck, leaned her up against the corner, and Heat charged, hitting the chair with a Yakuza Kick and crushing Bastet's neck. Adding insult to injury (not to mention injury to injury), the Valkyries hoisted up Bastet's limp form and planted her on the chair with not one, but two spike GLADIATOR PILEDRIVERS. OMEGA security was finally able to clear the ring, while medical staff tended to Bastet, immobilizing her neck and carrying her out on a stretcher.
Overall Card Rating: 0.83
