Just finished up. Some good stuff announced. 2 events announced. First will be in May in Vegas 's back yard. The second will be in Jacksonville. The names announced that have officially signed (whatever that fully entails) are as follows: Obviously Cody, Young Bucks & Hangman Page SCU Britt Baker MJF Joey Janela Penelope Ford PAC Chris Jericho There's also a Chinese wrestling organization they are going to be working with and I think they mentioned the name of a tag team that will be wrestling for them but it didn't ring a bell and I forgot to write it down. OWE maybe? They said that they will have a women's division and that women will be paid the same as men.

I wonder if there's any chance of FG working with AEW...

If I can get off work for a few days I'll be heading out to Vegas! Starrcast & All In in Chicago was such a good time despite terrible travel delays making me miss a lot of stuff I'd bought tickets for. Hopefully this will workout a little better.

I could not post it here on the board because I was told confidentially, but I was told last week that AEW was coming to Las Vegas and originally they were looking at T-Mobile Arena for Double or Nothing before choosing the MGM Grand Garden across the street. It is going to be a major weekend for wrestling in Las Vegas as FSW here is also doing one of its Mecca supershows that weekend to capitalize on the 1,000s of wrestling fans who will be flying in for Double or Nothing.

OWE maybe? Yes, Oriental Wrestling Entertainment (OWE) which is based in China's biggest city Shanghai. OWE has had some wrestlers make appearances here in Las Vegas at FSW. Also, at BOLA, CIMA and T-Hawk represented OWE.

I really only expected SCU and the announcement of the PPV, so seeing 4 new names was cool. PAC is one hell of a wrestler. I’m a fan of MJF. The Bad Boy is one of my favorites right now & i was loving his Evolve run pre injury. Chris Jericho was an awesome announcement too. There are only so many free agents at one time, so I’m pretty pleased. Seeing some old school bidding wars could add an exciting element to wrestling that we haven’t seen in awhile. Can’t wait for more signings, as I surely don’t want to see all the same matches that we have seen for years in ROH either. Some guys may have different rolls. Gotta think Marty & Flip have a decent chance of showing up after their contracts expire. Hopefully the last of ROH influx. Wanna see some smaller Indy guys now to add to the mid lower card. guys with different styles, looks and sizes. This is gonna be fun. Very optimistic!

His knowledge runs deep!

The roster announcement kinda reminded me of how everyone got excited over the Global Force roster press conference a few years ago and it kinda turned out to be a bust. We already knew The Elite and SCU were on the roster, so no real shock (or reason for me to be excited) there. MJF and Janela are two guys I don't enjoy watching, so I wasn't exactly thrilled with their signing. Jericho's a big name but like...what are you really gonna do with him? A rematch of the shit show with Kenny from last year? You gonna try to fill a 17k seat building with Cody vs. Jericho? PAC is a wrestler I like, but there's no real interesting matchups on this roster outside of StrongHearts, but he's worked some of those guys during his previous Dragon Gate run. Britt Baker and Penelope Ford are two signings, I guess. There's not a whole lot of talent out there, but that's not a great start for the roster. Also, the constant shots at WWE is basically the entire identity of the Elite and I get that, but you can't talk about how you're fighting the machine when the people bankrolling your company have more money than Vince.
According to someone on Twitter who spoke to an official from OWE, AEW apparently did land TV.
The equal pay thing is interesting, does this mean Britt Baker is going to make as much as Jericho or how does that even work?
Anyway, I'm happy for those who are excited, but this didn't exactly change my perspective on the promotion at hand. If anything, it kind of does reaffirm my belief that it's just going to be All In: The Promotion and I've got no interest in that.

I just happened to be a little familiar with OWE because they also have had a working relationship with the local Indy fed here FSW and last May at FSW's Anniversary show OWE sent over CIMA and Yan Chow (both of whom are also OWE trainers) for a tag match. Also, based on what I saw of T-Hawk (and of course CIMA) at BOLA, I am looking forward to seeing OWE working with AEW.
