Have to agree the next one could go either way. To the winner goes a second round showdown with Dr. Death!

Thank you for the pics TTX , walkswithwolf and Vegas . Curt Hennig (32) v. “Exotic” Adrian Street (33) Hennig uses his agility to avoid an early fireman’s carry throat drop and connects with a rolling neck snap that forces Street to the floor. While Street is focused on the fans, Henning comes outside and cracks Street across the back with a chair. Morgan Dollar tells them the carry on and Hennig connects with The Axe when the action returns to the ring for a pin attempt (R9/P4). Henning nails a top rope dropkick and then connects with The Axe a second time for another near fall (R7/P5). Street escapes a sleeper by rolling to the floor. Back inside, Hennig counters a European uppercut with a hip toss and a later a rolling neck snap sends Street back to the floor. Hennig continues to dominate the action and a standing dropkick spills Street to ringside yet again. Street regains the ring but eats a running lariat followed by a HENNIG PLEX. Street kicks out (R11/P8). Two more dropkicks from the top of the corner connect followed by a third one. Street stumbles to his feet and Hennig connects The Axe. 1, 2, ¾ (R10/P6). Fans thought it was over! Frustrated, Hennig tosses Street to the floor. Hennig comes outside but Street bounces Hennig’s head off the ringside table. No call from Dollar and the action goes back inside. Street mounts the corner and comes off the top but Hennig rolls clear causing Street to crash to the mat in a heap. Hennig hooks the leg and gets the win (R6/P7). Next up . . . Lou Thesz (17) v. Joe Blanchard (48) This will be my first time using Blanchard in action so I will be interested to see how his card matches up with Thesz. Considering Thesz has always been inconsistent for me in the past, we could see an early upset this year.

Oh Adrian, you should have known better. Can't imagine Thesz losing here but stranger things have happened.

Good start so far, Thesz should win and if you are using his color version it is stronger than b&w.

Thanks for the pics TTX and Vegas . Yes Humanoids4eva , this is full colour tournament. Lou Thesz (17) v. Joe Blanchard (48) They trade counters until Blanchard takes control with forearms and body slams. Thesz is sent into a back elbow and then Blanchard executes back to back airplane spins that stuns Thesz for a near fall (R9/P2). Blanchard moves to a Boston Crab and then nails a running bulldog. Another airplane spin has Thesz in trouble. Thesz is sent into a back elbow and then back to back running bulldogs have the fans smelling an upset. A third running bulldog lands followed by another airplane spin. Thesz goes into the ropes, ducks under and crosses over. Backdrop is countered with a piledriver. Cobra Clutch Suplex plants Blanchard. Blanchard stumbles to his feet and Thesz connects with a THESZ PRESS to get the come from behind win (R5/P5). My heart nearly stopped early on in this one but Thesz needed very little offense to put away Blanchard. Next match . . . Chris Candido (16) v. “Jumping” Jim Brunzell (49) First time with the new Brunzell card so I will be interested to see how he does. Candido made it to the sweet sixteen last year so he has an inflated seeding.

Curious......I'm leaning towards Brunzell but we'll see if Candido can make another run.
