Honestly I think it was a bad move to start 2 weeks early. Confuses the fans and takes the excitement out of the 10/2 show. It conditions fans to tune in on Wednesday night before the big episode on 10/2. It's not a huge lead time but it's something, I guess. If it was the whole 2 hours on USA I would agree. This split thing was kind of a cluster week 1.

I’m not sure how much of a war this will end up being. Both NXT and AEW appear to have lost a ton of steam lately. NXT airing early is silly since most people won’t care until the “war” officially begins. AEW has given itself a vanilla TV show name and a vanilla line up for the debut - not much to get excited about yet.

Tonight I watched (via DVDR) NXT on USA.
The opening match of Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic was good, but definitely not as good as their match I saw live two years ago at PWG's BOLA 2017 Night 3.

That logo is so eye popping!
I heard on one of the youtube shows, think it was WhatCulture, that the show got its name due to it being Tony Khan's fantasy fed name when he was a kid.

Here is the official AEW Dynamite intro (SPOILERS): I don't mind the Dynamite name and kinda dig this opener. I can just imagine some pyros going off at the very end as the show opens. As for the card, it's OK. There's some intriguing matchups but I'm more interested to get a feel for the overall show as a package and any potential surprises they have. I feel like they REALLY need to knock these first few episodes out of the park in order to feel like a true alternative to WWE like they've been boasting.

Big night! I’m strangely excited. Not as excited as I am for Friday but still really looking forward to some fun tonight.

[ I have a feeling AEW will be very heavy w angles tonight to combat a heavy wrestling themed NXT. In other words tomorrow we will be talking about some big AEW storylines and not necessarily match results or work rate.

I think that would be the right move for them. We already know their wrestlers can go and even with shortened match times, they'll probably deliver some fun matches.
