25. Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan vs Tommy Rich & Blackjack Mulligan - Saturday 5:00:30 PM:

Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan defeated Tommy Rich & Blackjack Mulligan via Pinfall. Rikidozan pinned Mulligan with his devastating THUNDEROUS CHOPS primary finisher - as Inoki Shoulder Blocked Rich just before he could try to make the save at the 12:00 minute mark.

In a unique turn of events, these two teams actually congratulated each other on getting this far in the tournament; post-match Rikidozan offered Mulligan a hand off the canvas and it was accepted, Inoki showed and taught Mulligan how to return a bow of respect and Rich showed and taught Rikidozan to keep in his thumb when he fist-bumped.


26. Al Costello & Roy Heffernan w/Wild Red Berry vs Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane w/Jim Cornette - Saturday 5:17:30 PM:

Al Costello & Roy Heffernan w/Wild Red Berry defeated Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane w/Jim Cornette via Pinfall. Heffernan pinned Lane courtesy of Manager Interference by Wild Red Berry (Quick Crack In Head With Cane) - as Costello Ax Handled both Eaton and Cornette at the 3:00 minute mark.

A pre-match show of force by Eaton, Lane & Cornette confronting all three of The Fabulous Kangaroos escalated quickly when The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff sided with The Midnight Express and suprisingly The Sheepherders backed The Kangaroos before security broke it up; post-match - the scene completely exploded as a full on 5 on 5 brawl erupted, including The Superpowers and The Sheepherders, requiring every security guard present on the island to jump in to get the situation under control.


27. Roddy Piper & Freddie Blassie vs Mil Mascaras & Don Leo Jonathan. Saturday 5:25:30 PM:

Mil Mascaras & Don Leo Jonathan defeated Roddy Piper & Freddie Blassie via Pinfall. Mascaras pinned Blassie with a show stopping CROSSBODY ATTACK secondary finisher - after launching himself from on top of Jonathan's shoulders - just before an advancing Piper was Shoulder Blocked Into The Corner by Jonathan at the 19:30 minute mark.

Another eerily quiet pre-match wherein both sides carefully sized up eachother and plotted a whole lot of strategy, because both sides were still in relatively good shape; post-match Piper and Blassie went to attack a wounded Mascaras only to find themselves simultaneously Speared Into A Building Column by Jonathan.


28. Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito vs Buddy Rogers & Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupre. Saturday 5:50 PM:

Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito defeated Buddy Rogers & Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupre via Pinfall. Fuji pinned Rogers with a defiant version of his BANZAI DROP finisher - as Mr. Saito Oriental Leg Swept first George completely off his feet and into his wife Cherie Dupre which in turn knocked her off her feet at the 22:30 minute mark.

A somewhat strange pre-match wherein Buddy Rogers and Gorgeous George sent Cherie Dupre to Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito with a hefty financial offer to throw the match - when Fuji and Saito's written response in Japanese was was translated for Rogers and George - they were extremely upset; post-match George and Dupre made a hasty exit but were knocked out of the way by an intimidated Rogers who exited the ring area even quicker than they did.

Hey TTX!

I hear ya, I figured unless Fuji & Saito were able to effectively rely on their tag skills, Rogers & George were going to pick them apart - but they hung in there.

I've been becoming more and more of a Kangaroos fan the more I play out their
matches.

Going to be posting Round 4 at some point today.

The team I was pulling for at the beggining was Lewis & Thesz, but a lot of "powerful teams" were definitely upset in the first round.

Looks like Kangaroos are the favorites, but the way this tournament has went, any team has a legitimate shot at winning.

Amen my friend - lots of unexpected results to be sure in the early goings.

Has been a really fun tournament to run.

The singles tournament has been a blast as well so far. I'm about 1/3rd through it's first round of 32 matches.

Will be posting the 4th (Semi Final Round) in a few.

29. Mil Mascaras & Don Leo Jonathan vs Al Costello & Roy Heffernan w/Wild Red Berry - Saturday 6:12:30 PM:

Mil Mascaras & Don Leo Jonathan defeated Al Costello & Roy Heffernan w/Wild Red Berry via Pinfall. Jonathan pinned Costello via a monstrous Giant Swing - as Mascaras knocks himself out with a Cross Body Block from the top ropes that takes out Heffernan and Berry before they can interfere at the 15:00 minute mark.

Pre-match, both teams just healed up more than anything else, post-match Costello gives Don Leo Jonathan a parting shot with a Smash To Temple With Boomerang that drives him down to one knee on the mat, The Sheepherders are the last to join the beat down - but the first to leave as an absolutely livid Andre The Giant holding Hacksaw Jim Duggan's 2 x 4, scatters everybody far away from Mascaras and Jonathan.


30.  Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan vs Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito - Saturday 6:32:30 PM:

Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan defeated Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito via Pinfall. Rikidozan pinned Saito via  an overwhelming barrage of Overhead Chops - as Antonio Inoki Speared the oncoming Fuji, causing Fuji to release the salt/glass mixture that he was about to hit Rikidozan with at the 9:00 minute mark.

During the pre-match, Mr. Fuji took it upon himself to show Rikidozan some of his salt under a powerful light which reflected some of the shimmering broken glass within it, Rikidozan responded with A Chop To The Throat that he purposely stopped an inch from Fuji's neck - Fuji was so fatigued by now that he never even saw it coming but the accompanying deep samurai like howl that came from Rikidozan - haunted him throughout the match; post-match, all four men met in the ring with both teams facing each other, first Mr. Saito and then Mr. Fuji bowed to Antonio Inoki and Rikidozan, who after a second, both returned the bow.

I hear ya - once Thesz & Strangler were eliminated I really found myself pulling for Fuji & Saito big time.

It was really a fun tournament and a good way for me to play at this point in time.

Going to be posting the championship result in a few. A lot happens inside the ring as well as out.

I'm about half way through the first round of the singles tournament and I'm hoping to be able to post that puppy by the end of this week (if not sooner).

In between this last round and the first round of the singles tournament there will be an announcement from The Promoter (although some of the wrestlers call him The Warden now cause it irritates him), as well as a brief scene between him and a mysterious visitor.

Mil Mascaras & Don Leo Jonathan vs Antonino Inoki & Rikidozan - Saturday 6:46:30 PM:

Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan defeated Mil Mascaras & Don Leo Jonathan via Pinfall. Inoki pinned Jonathan with another unbelievable come from behind Sunset Flip - as an exhausted Rikidozan collided with a desperate Jonathan, knocking each other backwards and down to the canvas at the 24:30 minute mark.

▪ Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan have won The Tag Team Championship of Alcatraz Island.

Pre-match, Mil Mascaras, Don Leo Jonathan Rikidozan & Antonio Inoki all shook hands within the center of the ring - most of the wrestlers in the tournament were seated at ringside; post-match, all four men congratulated eachother and exchanged bows, fistbumps and hugs - while in a different part of the prison, Andre the Giant was being assaulted during a staged partial blackout of the island, it was approximately 7 or 8 wrestlers, brandishing lead pipes, who perpetrated this, all of various shapes and sizes - and although the promoter is fairly certain that Andre will not be able to compete in next weekends tournament, one thing was for sure - The 7 or 8 (as they are now called) were all extremely well paid...and unbelievably...all...in cash...
