Go Torin....probably my favorite Classics character (between him and Mimic) Yeah I've always liked him too. He has one of the best win loss records of my singles guys through 21 cards so you'll see him continue to do well.

The Gorilla Position Behind the scenes with Omega and Morpheus: Episode 1
We start right up in the boardroom of the GWF offices as Omega and Morpheus discuss the Federation so far.
"I think we've been doing pretty well," states Omega. "Venues are sold out. The fans seem to be into it and the Internet buzz is top notch. I think we can only go up from here."
Morpheus jumps in, "yeah I'd have to agree. I think we can call this a success so far but we're just getting started there's a lot of room to grow. So listen, we ain't champs anymore. I've been itching to get back into singles wrestling and since it seems Dorado Sundown are nowhere near the threat they've always claim to me I think that's the way I'm gonna go. I'm sure you'll be happy to focus on singles too."
"Yeah. It was nice to be a double champ but it's gonna be nicer to have only one match a night. I'm fine with all that."
With that they are interrupted by a knock on the door. They beckon the visitor to enter and in walks K.O. Keller.
Omega perks up, "What's up buddy? What can we do for you?"
"Hey, I was wondering if you guys could maybe use another tag team? I talked to Commander Sam and I really like the kid. Lots o' promise there. Just gotta work out those rookie mistakes. I'd kinda like to take him under my wing and show him the ropes so to speak. I'm thinking I've got a lot to teach and I'm tellin' ya, he's gonna keep me feeling young. Kid has a ton o' energy." Keller seems very enthusiastic.
"What a coincidence! Morpheus and I were just talking about how we probably won't be tagging much more now that we aren't champs." Omega looks inquiringly at Keller. "Can you guys do me a favor though and keep an eye on Dorado Sundown?"
"Yeah, no problem boss."
And with that, Keller leaves the room and Omega and Morpheus finish up their meeting. And so ends episode 1 of The Gorilla Position.

Before I get to my next card, I want to talk about kayfabe in the Champions of the Galaxy universe for a second. I've been playing this game for over 20 years now and every time I've played through it, I've danced around the idea of the wrestling taking place being scripted entertainment. But with things like the Cygnusians and the Aethrans and CTA-102 and the Galactic Wars and planets being destroyed and Doomsayer's Transevolver and all of these having repercussions on GWF and its future story lines, it didn't seem possible that the GWF was anything but an actual athletic competition. Now I know if you look at the Encyclopedia Galactica on this website it talks a little bit about competitions that are "works" and some that are "shoots" but it doesn't go into a heck of a lot of detail and I don't believe it mentions which one of these the GWF is supposed to be. I've always played this game as sort of existing in an alternate reality in which wrestling was never scripted. It was always a real athletic competition and that is the reality where the GWF existed. But that never sat right with me. Wrestling has to be scripted, it just has to. One wrestler can't give another wrestler a suplex without the other wrestler helping, that's just the way it is. But on the other hand, how could the GWF have wrestlers from Cygnus and Earth, and CTA-102 and Titan, and Aethra and just about anyplace else, co-existing peacefully and working together to entertain an audience. It just never seemed possible to me. But then I thought about it some more and I realized. I can make it work. It's just going to take a bit of creativity. I'm pretty sure I have some pretty solid solutions to all of these problems. What's the point to this rambling? I think this Federation existing in a world where kayfabe still exists and the GWF is in fact all kayfabe adds another layer of interest to the stories. I would like to share not only what's going on in my Fed story wise, not only what's going on behind the scenes still in kayfabe (the Gorilla Position segments I've just introduced) but also what's going on totally behind the scenes. Who are these characters really? What are they really like when they're out of character? Who actually hates whom? Who actually gets along well that you wouldn't expect based on the stories? Why was wrestler A booked to win and not wrestler B (I imagine this will be a lot of fun for me when the dice especially don't cooperate; and the dice seem to never want to cooperate with me). So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to share the totally behind the scenes stuff. So with that, I'm going to introduce a segment called.... Breaking Kayfabe (and I'm putting it in spoiler tags to both maintain the mystery and give you the option to skip it if you want because it's a segment that isn't required to enjoy my fed) The first question I always struggled with answering is, if wrestling is scripted entertainment then why was it banned by by the UFSP? I know the Encyclopedia Galaxia explanation is that "works" were also banned after an altercation but I never liked that answer. So this is the first divergence from the official story. The answer to the question of why it was banned? It wasn't. You see, before the ban on violent sports, wrestling was in trouble. People weren't watching. People weren't attending. There was only one major wrestling organization left (was it WWE? AEW? ROH? NJPW? One we've never heard of? I'll leave that up to you). And this organization was losing money hand over fist. When the ban on violent sports came down, this organization saw their chance. In terms of their story they decided to say that the ban on violent sports applied to wrestling. So they had a farewell show with tearful exits and memories of past greatness with appearances by current wrestlers and long retired wrestlers and family members of deceased wrestlers. And then that was it. Behind the scenes, the owner/owners of the organization used the opportunity to declare bankruptcy and salvage what they could. A few independent organizations still existed and many popped up and went away. Most of them used the major organization's story of wrestling being banned to make it look like they were a super secret illegal underground operation to make them seem mysterious and interesting. But it didn't really garner as much interest as any of them had hoped. Wrestling was going the way of the dinosaurs.
Enter Omega and Morpheus. Both had been in love with wrestling since they were little boys. They met as young men in one of the many independent organizations and realized immediately the great chemistry they had with one another. When they bounced from organization to organization they did it together. As their early careers unfolded they became profoundly aware of a few things. One, the perception of these organizations being underground and illegal was not helping, it was hurting. Two, the lack of leadership or even basic business sense was rife throughout the industry. And three, the waning popularity of wrestling before the ban had nothing to do with wrestling itself. Stories from former members of the major organization made them realize that as egos got bigger and holovision contracts got more lucrative, the writing got worse and the product suffered. They created a bubble that was about to burst, and when it burst it wasn't pretty. It wasn't long before Omega and Morpheus decided their goal was to bring back wrestling to the mainstream. A few years into their careers they both agreed they were going to save their money and start their own wrestling federation.
But that wasn't going to be easy. There was still a perception that wrestling was actually illegal. This is one of those myths that people believed for so long and had been repeated for so long that it was seen as truth throughout the galaxy. Omega decided that the easiest way to change people's views was not to point out that wrestling wasn't actually illegal, it was to get the ban on violent sports lifted. So he and Morpheus went to the UFSP and argued that legalizing violent sports would help provide an outlet for violent behavior and may actually prevent future wars. The UFSP after a long series of debates eventually agreed and the ban was lifted. So ironically, Omega and Morpheus weren't actually responsible for wrestling becoming legal, but they were responsible for making football and hockey and other sports legal again.
So that brings us to 2074 and the start of the GWF. Now the first major storyline that Omega and Morpheus enact is that there will be no factions or alliances. No "heels" or "faces" (though of course they would never use those industry terms in public). Behind the scenes of course that's all nonsense. Omega and Morpheus fully intend to have heels and faces in their organization. How boring would it be if there weren't? But rather than forcing heels and faces on the people they decided to let this unfold organically. This is partly why the first card was not a title tournament. They felt their best bet at getting early business is to put the strap on their top babyface, either Omega or Morpheus. They weren't quite sure who the fans would latch onto more. In their first match with Dorado Sundown it became obvious that the fans were very much behind Omega and not behind Morpheus quite as much. So Morpheus suggested having Omega win the first championship tournament. In order to keep up appearances of keeping everybody neutral he also suggested that the Guardians should be the first tag champs. So that's what they did. They also recruited Torpor, a Cygnusian defector in the hopes that he might emerge as a heel but his in-ring ability just isn't there yet. He has however told them of a few friends on Cygnus who are also considering defecting...
As the months have unfolded, they've learned a few more things. Torin Caelum is super popular amongst the fans and they decided quite early to have him beat Omega for the title at some point. Also no really big heels seemed to be emerging; Dorado Sundown have been met with a lukewarm response every time. So they decided that Morpheus may be able to take the role of a heel, if not the top heel in the company. So they agreed they should drop the titles. They chose Paladin Power as the next champs because no matter what Solar Flare and Moonstrike did, they got enormous cheers from the crowd. And that leaves us where we are right now. Torin Caelum as Galaxian Champ and Paladin Power as Galaxian Tag Team Champs. Where we go from here, only Omega and Morpheus know.
It should also be pointed out that Omega and Morpheus have decided they want to be very strict about maintaining kayfabe in the GWF. They've told all of their wrestlers that they must be in character in public at all times. Any social media presence must be in character. The wrestlers are also not to give interviews about how the GWF is run behind the scenes. Omega and Morpheus want this to be a bit of a throwback to mid 20th century wrestling on Earth which was always presented as something that was a real competition. They know that will be tough in the era of intergalactic space travel and information traveling across dimensions at the speed of light, but they are going to try their damnedest to maintain kayfabe always.
So there you have it folks. The inside scoop on the GWF so far. I'll do one of these every few cards, and they'll be significantly shorter than this one, I just had to set the backstory here. So yeah, hope you all enjoy the view from the very inside of this GWF.

Nice win by Torin. Paladin Power gets a little too rough on the floor. Always enjoy these shows.

The Gorilla Position Behind the scenes with Omega and Morpheus: Episode 2
Once again, we are in the GWF board room and it seems there is a bit of a heated argument going on as Dorado Sundown air their grievances.
Blacklash is spitting mad, "This is ridiculous. It's absurd! It's completely unacceptable! Everyone and their mother's have had a shot at the tag titles. How many shots have we had? ONE! And it was in the tournament final which barely counts anyway. It's embarrassing that you keep giving us the shaft. Our time has come! We demand a shot!"
"Hang on a second," Omega interrupts. "What makes you think you've earned a title shot? You can't string together two wins let alone three or four. How can...."
"HOW DID PALADIN POWER GET A TITLE SHOT?" This time Bullwhip interrupts in a fit of rage. "They were ranked fifth at the time they got their shot. Fifth! There is absolutely no excuse for skipping us to give them a shot. None whatsoever."
Omega again tries to explain, "Now wait a minute. Those kids showed a lot of promise, they..."
Blacklash interjects again, "they what? How did they earn that shot? They weren't winning either. You give us a shot against them I guarantee you we take them out. It won't even be close. They are so undeserving of their title it's not even funny."
This time Morpheus jumps in. "First of all. Once you got here, you decided to tell everyone you were here to take over the GWF. What makes you think we're going to put you anywhere near the title picture after that kind of threat? Second, as my partner said, you haven't exactly been tearing it up in this Federation. But I'll tell you what. If you're really that confident, if you really think you have a shot, I'm gonna give it to you. I want to show you how wrong you are. I firmly believe you don't belong in the title picture. Not only because of your threats, but because of your ability. But despite my better judgement, I'm gonna give you the match. Hopefully that'll shut you two morons up. How do you even intend to 'take over the GWF anyway?' What the hell does that mean? Me and Omega own the thing and we aren't selling. Did you just mean it figuratively? Or is your aim to put us out of business somehow and then pick up the pieces? What's your deal?"
A slightly calmer Blacklash responds, "It's none of your business but it doesn't matter, we got what we wanted. Maybe if you fold this easily it won't be so hard to take over the GWF after all." And Blacklash and Bullwhip storm out of the room.
Omega and Morpheus look at each other and roll their eyes as this episode of The Gorilla Position comes to an end.
