Summary:

Dorado Sundown fail to back up their guarantee and continue to look like the mediocre team they've been pretty much since the start of the Federation. Paladin Power and Torin Caelum continue to roll through the competition with no end in sight to their reigns. Ricken Prince wins again. He seems to be great right up until he manages to get himself into a championship match. Maybe he will earn himself another shot and the result will be different for him in the future. Also of note is that Torpor is starting to earn a following among the GWF faithful as a sort of “loveable loser”. Despite being Cygnusian, the fans seem to be totally behind him and if he ever manages to get his first victory the roof might just blow off the Deimos Intergalactic Arena.

Summary:

The Ricken Prince vs. Screw match ended in complete chaos with both competitors fighting outside the ring and hitting each other with whatever wasn't nailed down. The odd thing about it however is it seemed both wrestlers were enjoying the chaos they were creating. It is being reported that after the match they had a discussion and agreed that their brand of fighting would work well as a tag team so they will start tagging and will be known as Rock Solid. Commander Sam and K.O. Keller are also going to wrestle some singles matches again. This will mostly be to guage Sam's progress. They will still continue as tag team partners at times so Commander Sam can further learn from Keller. Also, Paladin Power will defend against the Mensans again in a P.O.W. rules match since their match ended in DQ.

Summary:

He did it! Torpor won a match! The crowd exploded when the referee's arm hit the mat for the three count and despite being from Cygnus and despite most of the crowd being from Earth or one of Earth's colonies, they gave him a standing ovation. Torpor didn't quite know how to react to that...so he continued to attack Commander Sam. This quickly turned the crowd against him and it took a number of officials to break up the post-match fight.

Rock Solid had a so-so debut, losing by disqualification though they controlled most of the match. Given the type of wrestlers Ricken Prince and Screw are, one can speculate that there may be a few more disqualifications in their future.

And finally, we have a new GWF Galaxian Champion! Morpheus was finally able to end the reign of Torin Caelum after a lengthy and hard fought battle. It is unknown as to whether or not there is a rematch clause when a champion loses a title in the GWF, but if there is one it seems likely that Caelum would invoke it.

Always love the classics! Crazy how different some feds are.

I really found your 'Breaking Kayfabe' post interesting... I've always pictured the GWF as an actual sport, I would never have considered running it as worked... just too illogical to explain some things IMO, but I'll be watching to see how you pull it off!

I had the same issue with Dorado Sundown... the cards seem like they should compete, but they just don't.

I'm glad you like it! Though I started this early classic fed 15 years ago (and have played CotG for years before that) I only just thought of it as being a work recently. The main reason I wanted to figure something out is I just can't see wrestling as being anything but a work, even in this universe. But I'd always played the game as if it were a real non-scripted athletic competition even though it never totally sat right with me. Like you, I also thought there were too many things that were difficult to explain for it to be a work but I think I have it all figured out (famous last words). There will be another of those posts coming after card #16 I believe (this past one was #12).

Yeah I can't figure it out and it's a shame because I love the characters. Spoiler alert: They don't get much better for me. At all. They fall just short every single time.

I find its usually Bullwhip's fault, he has a fairly mundane offense and isn't strong enough on defense to make up for it.

Wrestling is weird in that....on the one hand, with all the crazy stuff it needs to be real...but on the other hand, how could you do most of the moves if the other wrestler didn't cooperate?

Summary:

So there was a bit of drama in this one. During the Tag Team Title match, Dorado Sundown came down the aisle and sat ringside. When the match was over they entered the ring, Bullwhip shoved the ring announcer aside and Blacklash grabbed the public address microphone. Blacklash addressed Paladin Power, claiming that Omega and Morpheus had been dodging their requests for another title shot so they decided to go right to the source. Solar Flare spoke up saying that they've fallen short every time they've tried so far and what would be different this time? At this, comment Blacklash actually spit in Solar Flare's face and it almost came to blows but officials were already in the ring prepared to stop anything that might break out. Moonstrike accepted the challenge, saying that Dorado Sundown needed to be taught a lesson.

Rock Solid are off to a poor start with their second loss in a row and Defiance continue to rack up the disqualifications, though they don't seem too concerned with that at all.
