The BIG ONE! The Omni in Altanta, GA Let's go to special ring announcer Tony Schiavone for the opening bout! "WILD" BILL WHITE defeated Thunderbolt Patterson with a running power slam and pin. Once again....again, Bill White. Let's sidetrack and summarize here: Bill White now holds pinfall victories over Sam Houston, Manny Fernandez, Magnum TA, and Thunderbolt. This time I couldn't even come up with a storyline reason because I've used that when he straight up beat Manny and Magnum. SO it was a good six minutes match that went back and forth until White got thrown out of the ring. He grabbed T-bolt by the leg, dragged him out, and smashed him into the ring post. Back in the ring a power slam sealed the deal and put White on a two match winning streak over top talent.
Abdullah The Butcher won by disqualification over Pampero Firpo Referee James Beard was assigned to this one due to his penchant for letting the action get a little wild. It still didn't matter because these guys couldn't keep it in the ring and wouldn't quit using weapons. Abby moved Beard out of the way and hit Pampero with a chair. Firpo retaliated by reaching under the ring and grabbing a sledgehammer. That was all Beard needed to see and he called for the bell to give Butcher the win.
Disco Inferno pinned Steve Regal in a lumberjack match for the light heavyweight title. Lumberjacks included The Texas Hangmen, Scott Casey, The West Hollywood Blondes, Sam Houston, George South, and the returning James Storm. In the end the referee was distracted as the Hangmen were brawling with Casey and Houston while the West Hollywood Blondes beat on Disco outside of the ring. Regal was trying to catch a breather in the ring, but James Storm came in from behind and took him out with a superkick. Disco got tossed back in and took advantage, using a piledriver to get the pin.
Powers Of Pain and Adrian Street defeated The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering.Animal came into this one still hurting from the incident invloving the Powers a few weeks back, and that ended up making the difference in the end. At about the ten minute mark Warlord set up the POWER HEAD BUTT. Barbarian covered. Hawk tried to make the save, but Steet dove in the way and prevented it. Per the prematch stipulation, this means the Powers Of Pain have secured a tag team title match at a later date. Bob Backlund won by disqualification over Bob Roop.
The match started with a really nice sequence of holds and reversals. Arm drag by Roop was met by an arm drag by Backlund. A hammerlock by Backlund was countered into a Roop reverse hammerlock, which Backlund countered with a fireman's carry into an arm bar. The dice were kind to me at the start of this one. The match went on for over twelve minutes with Roop trying for the pin unsuccessfully several times. Finally out of frustration he took the match to the floor and would not heed the referee's warning to bring it back into the ring, prompting the disqualification. Manny Fernandez and Jimmy Valiant beat the Midnight Express in a scaffold match.
Frankly, I was really happy with this result because having the good guys lose on a scaffold is a real letdown. Dennis went off first after only about three or four minutes of brawling. Bobby fought hard against the two-on-one advantage, earning him the respect of the fans, but eventually it was his turn to go as well and things ended on a high note for the "street people". The Patriot won by countout over Masked Superstar in a US title match.
Yes, the rematch went the same as the first encounter with Patriot getting the win but not the title in a really solid contest. You know that means we're heading for a "must be a winner" stipulations match for the third one. Also, you know I'm just accepting the decision of the dice because Patriot was the man and I was pulling for a title win. After an intermission, Bill Apter went to the ring for a special interview with the Rock N Roll Express. Bill welcomed them back to the territory and presented Ricky and Robert with an award for "most popular tag team of the year" as voted on by the fans of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Ricky thanked him and said it's great to be loved, but it would be greater to give something back to the fans by finally getting those world tag team titles. Robert said we all saw the Powers Of Pain and The Road Warriors go at it earlier, but they're not afraid to get involved in that mix if it means grabbing those world tag team belts. So whoever comes out on top of that feud has got the RnR waiting in the wings. Jack Brisco beat Big Van Vader to defend the NWA world title.Vader pounded Brisco early and it looked like it would be a one-sided victory with Vader taking back his belt. But Jack rallied and wore down Vader. In the end he used the O'Connor Roll for a near fall, then immediately grabbed Vader's leg on the kickout and locked in the figure four. Vader was in severe pain and, unaware of the position he put himself in, let his shoulders fall to the mat. The referee counted the three and gave the win to Brisco.

NWA Worldwide with Bob Caudle and Gordon Solie Bob: "Hot on the heels of a huge event at the Omni in Atlanta where Jack Brisco successfully defended the NWA world title against Vader, we bring you another great look at the happenings around the country in the National Wrestling Alliance." Gordon: :And first we go to Florida, where Hugh Morrus has been running roughshod over everyone. Ranger Ross, veteran of the US armed forces, steps in to try to end the reign of terror." Ranger Ross pinned Hugh Morrus after a surprise Combat Kick. The Laughing Man was firmly in control until Ross leap frogged him and hit the Combat Kick out of nowhere in a very good match. Morrus destroyed the ringside area after the decision. Morrus refused to lead until police showed up and cuffed him to lead him away. Gordon: "Win, lose, or draw Hugh Morrus makes his presence known. It seems like his main agenda is causing as much mayhem and destruction as possible." Bob: "I'm not even sure he cares about winning as long as somebody else gets hurt. But now, we turn our attention to Minnesota where the team of Playboy Buddy Rose and Doug Somers have shown up and made an immediate impact." Playboy Buddy Rose and Pretty Boy Doug Somers defeated Nacho Barrera and Jake Milliman.Milliman got some offense in, but this was basically a highlight reel for the Playboy and the Pretty Boy. The end came when Rose tagged in and hit the inside backbreaker on Nacho for the pin. Gordon: "I would not be surprised at all to see Rose and Somers in the mix for the world tag team championship in the near future." Bob: "Without a doubt, every tag team in the National Wrestling Alliance is put on notice. And one tag team that had a great night at the big event this past week was Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez. Standing by is Bill Apter with a special interview with the Boogie Woogie Man and Ragin Bull." In the Hot Seat, Bill Apter welcomed Valiant and Fernandez. Apter congratulated them on the big win in the scaffold match and noted that Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express have LEFT the Mid Atlantic territory and are on hiatus. Valiant said that's just the start because he's tired of all of these evil managers showing up at ringside and trying to influence the outcome of the matches. Manny said Cornette is one, but Mantel has his Texas Hangmen out there and nobody can forget about JJ Dillon and his influence on Masked Superstar and The Spoiler. Jimmy announced his crusade to rid the area of all managers, and targeted JJ Dillon specifically. JJ Dillon came into the interview set and took objection. He said Valiant and Manny are riding high after what they accomplished at the Omni, and rightfully so, but they need to rethink their strategy if they start thinking about taking aim at the manager of the United States champion and the one and only Spoiler. Jimmy said that's exactly what they're doing and challenged JJ to bring his men to face him and Manny in the ring next week. Candi Divine won by disqualification over Fabulous Moolah in the last quarter final match in the women's title tournament.Big upset here as Moolah is no longer in the title hunt. Candi had some offence, but Moolah dominated. Moolah tossed Candi out of the ring and followed, slamming her hard on the floor. The referee tried to get the action back into the ring but Moolah shoved him down to prompt the disqualification. Bob: "Business has picked up in a big way in the women's title tournament as one of the front runners, The Fabulous Moolah, has been eliminated." Gordon: "The semi-finals are now set as Sherri Martel will battle Jazz for a spot in the finals and Mildred Burke will wrestle Candi Divine. All four are top level combatants and it's anyone's game at this point." Bob: "Now we head to Texas, as Don Curtis continues his crusade against Tony Clifton's army of Rod Fenton and Terrible Turk." In footage from Texas, Curtis was being interviewed at ringside when Clifton showed up with Turk and Fenton. Clifton said Curtis made a big claim about having someone to watch his back but everybody knows boring character like Curtis has no friends and has nobody to watch his back. Fenton and Turk closed in on Curtis when BULL CURRY ran out and attacked them. The action spilled over to the ring and the referee called for the bell. Don Curtis and Bull Curry won by disqualification over Terrible Turk and Rod Fenton.Curry and Fenton took the action to the floor, where Rod tried to run Curry into the post but was blocked and countered. Fenton was in trouble when Turk ran over with a wooden mallet to attack Curry and draw the DQ. Curtis grabbed a chair and entered the fray and the brawl went all over the building before Clifton managed to regroup his men and retreat. Bob: "With Bull Curry on the scene in Texas things have definitely gotten interesting. I believe this situation is far from resolved." Gordon: "Main event time as we head to the hotbed of action that is the California territory and a big no disqualification match between Bobo Brazil and Bob Orton." Bobo Brazil defeated Bob Orton in a no disqualification match. Brazil seems to have finally put this feud to rest with a win. Orton came on strong, but out of the ring Bobo made his big comeback, blocked a chair shot by Orton, grabbed the chair, and brought it down hard on the head of Big O. A bloody Orton rolled back into the ring where he was the victim of a Coco Butt and pin.

NWA World Championship Wrestling with Tony Schiavone and David Crockett David began the show with a congratulations to Jack Brisco for his world title win and noted it was a lot quieter in the back of the studio this day. Tony concurred and said that's because Jim Cornette has packed his bags and went away after the crushing defeat of both the Midnight Express and Big Van Vader. Then it was time for the opening bout. Thunderbolt Patterson and Jerry Brisco defeated Johnny Mantell and Bill White.Brisco established control on Mantell after a quick brawl at the bell. White made the save when Mantell was in trouble, but Patterson took him out of the action and got the pin on Mantell after a head butt. After the match Mantell joined Tony and David. Johnny Mantell said Cornette wasn't the only one who turned tail and ran because the Texas Hangmen have bailed on him, too. But he doesn't need losers on his side, he needs winners. That's why he dumped Casey when he did and that's why he doesn't need the Hangmen either. But Patterson and Jerry Brisco haven't heard the last of him yet because he's got new proteges waiting to come in and take care of business. Tully Blanchard beat Tommy Angel in less than a minute.Angel grabbed a headlock at the bell, but Tully reversed it, hit a running knee, and finished with a top rope sledge. Melina and Tully went to talk to Tony and David afterwards. Melina said she's got Tully on track and her main man is going straight to the top now. Tully said there are no more distractions with "junior heavyweights" and the focus is one hundred percent on making it to the top in the NWA. Tony asked about his running feud with Magnum TA and Tully scoffed, asking how many times Magnum needs to get beat down before he stays down. Rock N Roll Express defeated the West Hollywood Blondes when Robert pinned Riddle. This was a really decent match. Riddle and Lane worked well together and had Ricky in trouble at one point, but he rallied and made the tag out to Robert. They hit the double dropkick and Ricky ran interference while Robert scored the pin. JJ Dillon went to the announcer's area to talk about the challenge made and answered on NWA Worldwide, when Jimmy Valiant challenged JJ to bring his men to face Valiant and Fernandez on this very show. JJ said Spoiler is touring the Orient and Superstar is off this week after a "grueling and successful US title defense at the Omni" (which David was quick to point out was a disqualification win for The Patriot). JJ said he "DID bring his NEW men to the building today, the newest tag team in his masked dynasty....his masked assassins....the men who are like a pair of pit vipers and will play executioner tonight when they splatter Valiant and Fernandez all over the ring...the death knights on his chessboard.....THE GRAPPLERS." Grappler 1 and 2 hit the ring and the fight was underway. Manny Fernandez and Jimmy Valiant won by disqualification over The Grapplers.Grappler 1 (the new color card) and Grappler 2 (the original black and white card) went back and forth with the unlikely dominant duo of the territory. The action was all over the ring and ringside area until Valiant went after JJ, to which Grappler 2 retaliated by hitting Jimmy in the back with a chair to prompt the disqualification. JJ led his men away as Manny rounded the corner of the ring to defend his partner and Patriot showed up in the arena to help. Patriot spoke after the altercation. He said JJ Dillon is amassing a masked army and Patriot will not stand for it. They make a mockery of the mask, the NWA, and everything the USA stands for. Jimmy and Manny joined in and Jimmy said this is why he announced his crusade to rid the territory of all of these rotten, conniving managers. Manny told Patriot to focus on Superstar and the US title while Manny and Jimmy will take care of the Grapplers. And if Spoiler comes back around he may just find their furry friend Pampero Firpo will be waiting. In a rematch from the Omni show, Bob Backlund and Bob Roop wrestled to a TV time limit draw. These two once again matched up phenomenally well. The match just flowed. Neither one seemed to be able to roll for a pin though and after fifteen minutes of back and forth action "the TV time expired".

WORLDWIDE! with Gordon and Bob
Gordon:" Welcome once again to NWA Worldwide, looking at the going on in all the various corners of the National Wrestling Alliance. Tonight we kick it off in Alabama where the family feud between the Armstrongs and the Gilberts continues." Bob: "That's right. And this time the fathers get involved as Tommy Gilbert battes the patriarch of the Armstrongs, Bullet Bob."
Tommy Gilbert got a one move come from behind win over Bob Arstrong.Bullet Bob was asserting his dominance when he made one mistake throwing Tommy out of the ring. The elder Gilbert got his opening and hit a running knee lift for the pin. Bob: "Gilbert with the win, but I'm sure that battle is far from over. The elders may conduct themselves with some semblance of civility, but the way their sons continue to fight , sooner or later this thing may have to be settled in the confines of a steel cage." Gordon: "Indeed. And now on to Florida, where Hugh Morrus demanded a rematch with Ranger Ross. Ross is no shrinking violet and readily agreed. Can he make it two in a row? We shall see." Hugh Morrus defeated Ranger Ross after No Laughing Matter.A fight from bell to bell. Neither man gave an inch and neither managed to dominate for too long before the other answered. In the end Morrus managed to string a series of moves together to stun Ross long enough to use his version of the moonsault to get the pin. Gordon: "The rampage of Hugh Morrus continues, as win or lose you can be assured when you see him mayhem follows." Bob: "From one loose cannon to another, the action shifts to Texas where Tony Clifton is standing by with his latest protege, Big Bully Busick." In prematch comments from ringside Clifton said Curtis managed to tame the savage beast in Bull Curry, but the Bull is about to get bullied by Busick. He touted Busick as the meanest and most dangerous man the territory has ever seen, and his "close personal friend and bodyguard besides." Big Bully Busick defeated Chaz with the Stump Puller.Bully started fast, but Chaz got him off balance with his speed and agility. Chaz scored a couple of near falls, but Bully was not in serious trouble as he grounded the lighter opponent and went on to win with the stump puller. Gordon: "Quite the unorthodox individual is the Bully, but he gets the job done. The stump puller is not pretty, but man-o-man is it effective." Bob:" It's time for our weekly segment with the editor of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Bill Apter. He's standing by with world tag team champions, the Road Warriors." The Hot Seat with Bill Apter featured Paul Ellering and NWA world tag team champions the Road Warriors. Bill talked of the six man tag team match that earned Powers of Pain a shot at the tag team titles and how that match will be coming this week. Paul said Adrian Street is a cagey veteran in the ring and his devious mentality translates to managing the Powers Of Pain as well. They hury Animal and took advantage but the Road Warriors are very hard to keep down and Warlord and Barbarian are soon to learn the error of their ways. Animal said he's back to nearly one hundred percents, and that makes him ninety nine percent better than either Warlord or Barbarian. Hawk closed it out in his own way comparing the Powers Of Pain to a "mystery brown spot on the floor. Is it mud or is it something else? Either way you wipe it up, throw it away, and try to forget it ever existed, just like what's about to happen to the Powers Of Pain." Bob: "And now the first semi-final match of the ongoing women's title tournament as Jazz travels up north to face Sherri Martel in Minnesota." Jazz won by disqualification over Sherri Martel to advance to the finals of the women's title tournament.A very worthy semi-final match. Neither woman would back down and there were seven near falls between them. In the end Sherri rolled out of the ring to try to catch her breath, but Jazz would not relent. Sherri grabbed a chair and hit Jazz with it as a last ditch act of desperation and the referee called for the bell. Bob: "Jazz has gotten into the finals. I'm sure it's not the way she wanted to win in this tournament that has been plagued by disqualifications, but she'll take it nonetheless. That means she meets the winner of Candi Divine and Mildred Burke to determine the next NWA women's champion." Gordon: "And it's main event time with a man who wants to stake his claim to a title of his own, as The Destroyer continues his climb to the number one contender spot for the NWA world title held by Jack Brisco. But it's a tough climb indeed as he sees battle once again with one of the all time greats, Killer Kowalski." The Destroyer hung on to defeat Killer Kowalski via figure four. Destroyer gutted it out through the onslaught of Kowalski and kept to his game plan of working on the leg, chopping down the oak that is Killer Kowalski until he could finally get the submission with the figure four.

It's Saturday Night with Tony and David Thunderbolt Patterson (w/Jerry Brisco) defeated Wild Bill White (w/Johnny Mantel) after a head butt.White was not as lucky as he was in their last singles encounter, as Patterson rolled to victory while Brisco watched his back from ringside. NWA light heavyweight champion Disco Inferno came out to talk to Tony and David. He said he's glad to see Jerry Brisco find a place in wrestling that suits him, standing at ringside and not in the ring. Brisco and Patterson came over to confront him. Patterson was about to deck Disco, but Jerry backed him off and said he'd handle it. Brisco said he thought Disco had seen the light when he dumped Regal and Melina but obviously he's still the arrogant jerk at heart. Jerry told DI he got lucky in the ring with him twice thanks to having his former team at ringside with him, but now all bets are off because if they get in the ring again it's one-on-one. Disco retorted that it's a "very big if" because the champion doesn't get in the ring with just anyone, finishing with "ask your brother about that, because you wouldn't know". THAT brought out NWA world heavyweight champion Jack Brisco. Jack said Disco knows nothing about being a champion and carrying a title with respect. He continued that a champion gets in the ring with anyone at anytime and backs down from nobody. Disco asked it Patterson and the Briscos were trying to "punk him out". Jerry responded by saying "we're not trying, we just did", and punched Disco straight in the nose, knocking him out cold. Thunderbolt and Jack cheered Jerry on as he snatched the light heavyweight title off of Disco and went to the ring to hold it high to the fans rabid approval. Grappler #1 (w/JJ Dillon) won by disqualification over Jimmy Valiant.Dillon absolutely refuses to keep himself out of the action when his guys are involved. The action spilled out of the ring with Valiant in control. JJ took off his shoe and tried to hit Boogie with it, but Valiant blocked, kicked JJ, and took the shoe. Grappler grabbed Valiant from behind and Jimmy turned and hit him with the shoe to prompt the disqualification. After the bell Dillon and Grappler were met by Grappler #2 at the interview area. JJ was celebrating the win as if his man had just beaten Valiant clean. Manny joined Jimmy in the ring as Dillon and the Grapplers talked. Dillon was so confident that he asked Manny if he wanted to stay in the ring and make it 0-2 for his team against Grappler 2. Manny waved him in and responded "bring it on". Manny Fernandez defeated Grappler #2 after the Flying Burrito. JJ tried his shenanigans again as Jimmy fought Grappler 1 at ringside. But THE PATRIOT ran in to stop him from interfering. After the decison JJ Dillon warned that Masked Superstar is coming back next week and they'll put an end to this business with Patriot once and for all. Magnum Ta defeated Vernon Deaton after the belly to belly suplex.
Quick and easy squash match for "the Boss". Magnum spoke with Tony and David after the bout. Magnum said there's all this controversy going on with Superstar and Patriot over the US title, there's Disco and Jerry going at it for the light heavyweight title, and the Road Warriors are about to defend the tag team titles against Powers Of Pain. But nobody better overlook the former United States champion Magnum TA, because no matter what Tully Blanchard wants to say, he will never say "I quit" and he will never go away until he reaches the top. The Road Warriors (w/Paul Ellering) defeated Powers Of Pain (w/Adrian Street) to defend the NWA tag team championship. Even with the injury to Animal the Road Warriors proved to be too much for any team on planet Earth to handle. Barbarian and Warlord looked to be on the verge of getting the win after the power plex on Hawk, but he managed to make the tag out to Animal who came in hot. After a series of big moves it was the Animal POWER SLAM on Barbarian that sealed the deal as Paul kept Street from getting involved at ringside.

NWA Worldwide with Gordon and Bob Bob Caudle: "Welcome once again to NWA Worldwide. And we begin our program going down to Texas where Tony Clifton has brought Big Bully Busick to the area to counteract the wild man Bull Curry." Gordon: "Indeed. It's the Bully against the Bull and we shall see if Clifton has finally found the man to bring him to the top of the heap in the National Wrestling Alliance." Wild Bull Curry defeated Big Bully Busick after a series of punches. This was a wild affair that could have gone either way. Bully had Bull hurting when he locked in the STUMP PULLER, but Bull would not submit. Curry came back and hit Busick with a folding chair before putting him down with a series of punches for the pin. Gordon: "Bully Curry pulled it out by the skin of his teeth and, as much as I hate to give credit to the vile Tony CLifton, you can be sure Big Bully Busick will be back in the mix and looking for revenge pretty soon. Bob: "Now let's go to our esteemed colleague Bill Apter as he hosts the Hot Seat with his guest Bob Roop." In the Hot Seat Bill Apter talked to Bob Roop about his recent series of bouts with Bob Backlund. Roop said Backlund has gotten all the press, but people seem to forget his credentials. He is an Olympic class wrester and so far Backlund hasn't been able to pin his shoulders to the mat. Apter asked what it's going to take to finally get a decisive winner in this series of bouts, as so far we've seen a disqualification and time limit draw. Roop challenged Backlund to a two out of three falls match and said there's going to be a winner and it's going to be Bob Roop. Candi Divine and Mildred Burke wrestled to a double countout in a NWA women's title tournament semi-final match.Big controversy here in a fanstastic match. At once point Burke had worn down Candi with a series of backbreakers and locked in the Alligator Clutch. The roll to escape was a 12 and Candi rolled a 12! The match spilled to the outside where they began to brawl. Neither woman would heed the referee and the result was a double countout. (double disqualification) Gordon: "Well we certainly have a situation on our hands now, as this result would give Jazz the NWA women's title by default. We shall see what the NWA championship committee decides in this matter." Bob: "Next week we'll either see a decision or a coronation as Jazz will be here to accept the NWA women's title. But now we head to Georgia where the Rock N Roll Express attempt to re-establish themselves as the top contenders for that NWA tag team title. " Rock N Roll Express defeated Bruiser Costa and Bil Howard.Ricky and Robert had their fair share of trouble with the roughhouse vetean duo, but in the end Ricky nailed a perfect dropkick on Howard for the pin. Gordon: "Main event time, and boy is it a big one. NWA world champion Jack Brisco tavels to California to take on the challenge of one of the top contenders in the world, The Destroyer." Jack Brisco defeated The Destroyer to defend the NWA world title. A classic contest. Destroyer tried to wear down the champion, but Brisco's conditioning made the difference. Jack used a rolling reverse cradle for a near fall, followed up with a Thesz Press for another near fall, and finally locked in the figure four for the win.

It's SATURDAAAAY NIIIIIGHT with your hosts, Tony and David Show open with a rundown of the big matches scheduled for the night. Tony and David were interrupted by The West Hollywood Blondes. Rock Riddle spoke for the team and said the Rock N Roll Express got a lucky win last time they met, but one more time is the charm because Lenny and Rock are the most FABULOUS team in wrestling today. Riddle told Tony and David to watch and learn as they head to the ring. West Hollywood Blondes defeated Tony Zane and Bill Smith. The Blondes were clearly in charge the entire match, with Lenny finally putting the finishing touch on Smith with MEMORY LANE for the pin. Tully Blanchard (w/Melina) pinned Ron Hutchison after a slingshot suplex.Tully picked up another quick win, putting Hutchison away inside of two minutes. Tony and David welcomed EXOTIC ADRIAN STREET, clad in leather and studs and holding a riding crop, to the interview area. Street said the Road Warriors benefit from the courtest of the referees and the love of the officials, because the Powers Of Pain had them defeated in plain sight. Adrian said it didn't matter though because he is putting Warlord and Barbarian through twice the punishment and twice the discipline so when they come back Hawk and Animal will stand no chance no matter how much help they get. PAUL ELLERING came out to confront Street and said he can skew things all he wants but what everyone saw was yet another successful title defense by the greatest tag team of all time. Ellering said THEY have unfinished business though because Street has to pay for his cheap shots and backstabbing ways. Paul challenged Street to meet him in the ring one on one next week. Street gladly obliged. After the break, Jerry Brisco came to the commentary area to provide his insights into the Disco Inferno title defense. Disco Inferno defeated Chaz Taylor in a light heavyweight title match. One of the top contenders came all the way from Texas to try to win the belt. He gave it a great effort but Disco caught him with the LAST DANCE to get the pin. And, for good measure, Disco had the trunks pulled and his feet on the ropes for leverage. A disgusted Jerry Brisco walked down to the ring after the three count, knocked Disco's feet off the ropes, and got in the ring. Disco tried to hit him, but Jerry blocked and knocked him out with one punch. Jerry went back to the interview area and said he's not ever sure how he got involved in this "silly feud" with DI, but it's got to end because he can't stand looking at the guy and putting up with his nonsense anymore. BOB BACKLUND defeated BOB ROOP in a two out of three falls match.Amazing action here. FALL ONE: After about twelve minutes of action, Roop ran Backlund's head into the ring post. the referee tried to stop him, but Roop pushed the ref and did it one more time. The ref disqualified Roop, but left a bloody Backlund going into the second fall hurt. FALL TWO: The men went from wrestling in fall one to all out fighting in fall two. Backlund finally tossed Roop out of the ring and returned the favor by repeatedly running his head into the steel post. Backlund was disqualified, evening things up for fall three. FALL THREE: Backlund got a fairly quick victory with a piledriver in the third and deciding fall Roop recovered and attacked Backlund from behind after the decision. He gave Backlund a piledriver of his own and set up for another one when THE PATRIOT ran out to stop him. Patriot was in turn attacked from behind by MASKED SUPERSTAR. Roop and Backlund cleared out of the ring and the main event for the United States title was underway. MASKED SUPERSTAR defeated The Patriot to defend the US title.Superstar controlled the opening minutes, but Patriot fought back. In the end Superstar slapped on a sleeper but Patriot made it to the ropes. As the referee tried to pull Superstar off of the challenger, JJ DILLON grabbed a roll of quarters out of his pocket and blasted Patriot in the jaw. Patriot fell to the mat and Superstar picked up the pinfall win to once again defend the US title. As the fans chanted "USA" and booed heavily at Dillon and Superstar, the US champ and his manager made their way over to Tony and David. Dillon said Superstar proved once again that he is the greatest United States champion of all time so it's only right the fans should chant for him like that. Superstar said challengers will come and go but none will be able to topple the most intelligent, the greatest brawler, the most technical fighting champion any territory has ever seen. Dillon ended the show by warning that his Masked Assassins of The Grapplers and Masked Superstar will get rid of Valiant, Fernandez, Patriot, and anyone else who gets in their way.

Backlund vs Roop is always a fun match. Nice to see Disco winning. Backlund and Roop keeps surprising me. I intended it to be a one-off to give Backlund a win over a solid opponent, but they end up in a feud where neither one seems to be able to get a decisive win. I'm having fun rolling these matches and I have to figure out a good pay off now.
