NWA Worldwide with Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle Bob: "An exciting night of action kicks off as we see a match from Florida where young Brady Boone takes on the force of nature known as The Laughing Man Hugh Morrus." Hugh Morrus defeated Brady Boone with NO LAUGHING MATTER.Brady got in some good early offense, but once Hugh took over it was only a matter of time before he got yet another win as he seems to be dominating singles action in the territory. Gordon: "Not a nice man is Hugh Morrus, but nice does not win wrestling matches and so far he is far ahead on the wins column down in the Sunshine State. Next up, one of two matches we will see tonight from the Sportatorium in Dallas as Wild Bill White goes one on one with Tug Taylor in a Texas Television title tournament bout. Bill White defeated Tug Taylor to advance in the Texas TV title tournament. The Bill White train keeps rolling as he continues his inexplicable winning ways in a new territory. He somehow kicked out of the ANCHOR DROP and ended up coming back to get the pin after a hard knee lift stunned Taylor long enough for the three count. Bob: "The cagey veteran White proves once again that he is not to be taken lightly as he moves one step closer to achieving his first title win in some time. There's still a way to go though. Now we go to the arena in Baltimore Maryland as our Mid Atlantic territory ventured a little farther up north for an exciting night of action, including this one featuring the ladies in tag team action." Judy Martin and Lelani Kai defeated Princess Victoria and Susan Green when Martin pinned Green.A solid tag team bout, but Martin and Kai had the tag team experience that made them more adept at tagging out on defense and double teaming, which earned them the victory in the end. In the "Hot Seat" interview with Bill Apter, Bill introduced Dan The Beast Severn to the fans of the NWA. After listing his impressive amateur and pro fighting credentials Severn said he's in the NWA to test himself against the best. And among the best is former world heavyweight champion Jack Brisco. He feels he can start right at the top and get himself in line for an NWA title match very quickly. Apter told him that was a very lofty goal but if anyone can do it, it may be Dan Severn. Big Bully Busick (w/Tony Clifton) defeated Brickhouse Brown thanks to intereference to advance in the Texas TV title tournament.Don't you hate it when a plan doens't come together? Brown hit the flying body press but couldn't keep Busick down. Clifton got in his distraction, offering Brown a burlap sack allegedly full of money for Brown to join them instead of fighting them. Brown knocked him off the apron but Busick sneaked up from behind and floored Brown for the pin. Gordon: "An exciting match with a disappointing result there in Texas. It's shaping up to be anybody's tournament to win down in Texas and we will report on the results of that one in the weeks ahead." Bob: "Main event time as we go back to Baltimore where Masked Superstar defends the United States title against Thunderbolt Patterson." Masked Superstar pinned Thunderbolt Patterson after a third swinging neckbreaker to defend the US title.Manager distraction played a roll again as Patterson was on top for the pin when JJ Dillon had the referee's attention arguing over the legality of Patterson's big right uppercut punch. Superstar got his comeback when he reversed after being tossed into the ropes, and went on a relentless assault including three swining neckbreakers that finally kept Thunderbolt down for the three count. Following the decision JIMMY VALIANT ran out to argue the decision with the referee, saying JJ should have been thrown out of the building after the distraction. Dillon argued with Valiant and Superstar tried to attack the Boogie Woogie Man from behind, but was intercepted by Patterson. Thunderbolt and Valiant cleared the ring of JJ Dillon and Masked Superstar to send the fans home happy (or happier).
Gordon: "Two bouts in a row marred by controversy and you can see why Jimmy Valaint has declared war and says he wants to get rid of managers at ringside." Bob: "With his determination he just may do it. That's all for this edition, we will see you next time."

The Flagship Some may call it The Mothership SATURDAY NIGHT w/Tony and David (actually being posted ON Saturday night!) Rock N Roll Express defeated Thunderfoot 1 and 2 when Ricky pinned 1 after a cross body block. The action for the night started in the ring with Rick and Robert making quick work of the Feet. At the commentary station Tony and David were joined by JJ Dillon. JJ said what Manny Fernandez did last week will not go unpunished, because when one of his masked assassins goes down another rises up to take his place. Grappler 2 may be out of commission but The Spoiler is coming back from the Orient to take his place and there will be Hell to pay. Tully Blanchard (w/Melina) defeated Ranger Ross via pinfall after the Slingshot Suplex. This was a hard fought rematch from a few weeks ago. Ross got a near fall after a body press, but Blanchard finally put him away with the slingshot suplex to get his win back. Following the match Melina and Tully talked to Tony and David. Melina told David she gets what she wants and doesn't like to be kept waiting. David was grinning from ear to ear before Tully took over and said what he wants and what she wants is for Bill Watts to get out there right away and give him the match he wants. MAGNUM TA showed up instead and said if Tully doesn't start any there won't be any this week, because for once they agree. The area isn't big enough for the both of them and if either one wants to get past the roadblock in their career it has to be settled. Bill Watts finally came out and declared that he wants what is best for the fans, the territory, and the wrestlers. So he is ordering (and I'll bet you didn't see this coming) AN I QUIT MATCH between the two for the next big event at the Omni in Atlanta. After a quick break Jerry Brisco was in the ring ready to defend the light heavyweight title when scheduled opponent John Mantell went over to Tony and David and said he's hurt and can't compete. BUT, in his place is his "close friend and associate", Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert. Eddie got in the ring and jumped Brisco from behind to start the match. Jerry Brisco defeated Eddie Gilbert with the figure four to defend the light heavyweight title.Gilbert looked like he may get the win, but Jerry came back and worked the leg relentlessly until he got the figure four. Mantell forced the break once by reaching in and dragging Eddie to the ropes, but a few minutes later Brisco went back to it for the victory. Post match, Jerry rolled out of the ring and grabbed his title belt while an angry Gilbert and Mantell conferenced in the ring (probably plotting nefarious revenge, as these types do). Tony and David were joined by Adrian Street. Street explained that he may have been sidetracked but his goal remains the same and that is to take the world tag team championship from the Road Warriors. He said trying to defeat them at their own game proved pointless, so he has to counter power with finesse and he has found just the right partner to help him do so. Tony asked Street to elaborate but Street simply said "no", and we go to the ring for the next contest. Johnny Saint pinned Lenny Lane (w/Rock Riddle).Riddle caused a distraction in the opening minute and Lane got some good offense. Saint was too quick and cagey though and soon got the victory with a rollup out of the corner. Rock Riddle jumped Saint after the match and the West Hollywood Blondes were administering the double team beating when ADRIAN STREET slid in under the bottom rope and sent the Blondes reeling and running for cover after a series of powerful European uppercuts. Saint got to his feet and looked confused at what had just taken place, but Street left the ring before he could get any answers. Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez were interviewed about JJ Dillon and the impending return of the Spoiler to seek revenge on Manny. Jimmy started his usual routine, but was cut off by Manny. Fernandez angrily said they could keep going like this indefinitely or they could do things his way and take out every one of Dillon's men so he doesn't HAVE anyone to manage and THAT is how to get rid of him and move on from this "stupid crusade so they can go win titles and make money". Jimmy was for once speechless as they ended the interview. Wildfire Tommy Rich defeated Disco Inferno via pinfall in a close main event.Okay, Disco really worried me here. The guy poured on the offense and kicked out of a piledriver, survived the Wildfire Sleeper, and the Thesz Press. Finally Rich did enough to keep him down and got the pin after a final fist drop. I believe somebody DID say something 'bout "Fired UP!" as Tommy Rich's winning ways continued to close the show.

NWA WORLDWIDE with Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle Bob: "We're wasting no time tonight as we kick things off with a match from Tampa where fan favorite Tracy Smothers faces Randy Rose." Tracy Smothers defeated Randy Rose after the JAW JACKER.Nice back and forth action in the opening bout. Rose never really had Smothers in jeopardy, but he gave him a good match for about five minutes before Smothers got the pin. Gordon: "Promoters around the country will be lining up to bring in Tracy Smothers, as he would be an asset anywhere in the world." Bob: "And now we head back to Texas for another match in the Texas television title as Wild Bull Curry faces Lighting Rod Fenton in what should be a wild one." (before the bout manager Tony Clifton attempted to follow Rod Fenton down the aisle. Fenton turned and threatened to bash him in the head with a beer bottle unless he vacated the premises. CLifton told Fenton he'd "rue the day!" as he stormed back to the locker rooms) Bull Curry defeated Rod Fenton after a hard right punch. The rules were followed tenuously at best here. Curry miraculously managed to not get disqualified after smashing Fenton in the head with a chair and went on to get the win after a series of punches culminating in a right KO blow. Gordon: "It's good to see that vile Tony Clifton get put in his place. Unfortunately for Fenton it didn't matter as he ran into the Wild man Curry." Bob: "Things are shaping up for a hard nosed semi-finals in the Texas TV title tournament. Not a mat technician in the bunch as so far it's Big Bully Busick, Bill White, and now Bull Curry." Gordon: "Indeed. Next we turn to North Carolina where NWA women's world champion Jazz puts her title on the line against Rockin Robin." Jazz defeated Rockin Robin with the STF to defend the NWA women's championship.Robin would not go down to defeat easily, but it wasn't pretty. She kept fighting back and Jazz kept beating her down. Finally after an epic series of moves Jazz locked in her finisher for the submisison. Gordon: "Jazz emphatically establishing her place at the top of the women's division." Bob: "Fans, you're going to like what we have next. The team that's taking the entire NWA by storm. Let's take a speical look at Stan and Steve, The Fabulous Ones." The Fabulous Ones defeated Alexis Smirnoff and The Blaster when Stan pinned Alexis after the double DDT.Smirnoff and Blaster did not work well as a team and the Fabulous Ones are the definition of tag team wrestling. That told the story here as Steve took out Blaster and then assisted Stan with the double DDT for the win. Bill Apter: "NOBODY has been able to touch the Road Warriors for those NWA world tag team championships, but we may have a team on the horizon who will have something to say about that. And now, welcome to the Hot Seat a man who ALSO has tag team title aspirations, EXOTIC ADRIAN STREET." "Adrian, we saw you help sworn enemy Johnny Saint on NWA Championship Wrestling this past week. Is HE the tag team partner you referenced who will help you unseat Hawk and Animal?" Street: "Now that would be telling, wouldn't it? I like to keep things....close to the chest. But all I will say is that the West Hollywood Blondes are a pair of ugly ducklings trying to be swans and I just could NOT let them get the upper hand on a game rival like Mr Jonathan Saint. In fact I will be back next week to get in the ring with Saint AND the Blondes to let everyone know where we stand." Apter: "Fascinating as always, Adrian Street." Johnny Valentine won by disqualification over Nature Boy Rogers in main event action from California. These two do not like each other and took the action to the floor at every chance. In the end it was Rogers retreating to the floor, then catching Valentine with a shot from a wooden chair when he gave chase that caused the DQ.

NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING with your hosts, Tony Schivone and David Crockett The show opened with Tony and David talking about the next big event coming to the Omni in Atlanta, where Tully Blanchard and Magnum TA will have an "I quit match" to settle their differences hopefully once and for all. There is also going to be a NWA world title match and the NWA board of directors is involved intense meetings to determine who the challenger will be. More information in the days ahead, fans. Jerry Brisco and Thunderbolt Patterson won by disqualification over The Moondogs (w/John Mantell and Eddie Gilbert)Fierce tag team action to open the show. After several minutes the Moondogs were on the receiving end of a beating on the arena floor when Matell gave the nod to GIlbert and both men attacked their adversaries. The Moondogs tossed Brisco and Patterson back into the ring and the four men delivered a beating until JIMMY VALIANT AND MANNY FERNANDEZ ran out with baseball bats in hand to chase away the villainous foursome. Jimmy and Manny went over to talk to Tony Schivone after the fracas. Jimmy said Mantell had better watch himself because after Valiant's finished with JJ Dillon and his Masked Assassins Mantell, Gilbert, and the Moondogs may be next. Manny refocused Boogie and pointed out he has a match up next with the Spoiler and the Masked Superstar is still United States champion, a title he is scheduled to defend later on against Bob Backlund as well. Manny said they can have their crusade but when it's time to get it done in the ring that US belt sure would look nice around the waist of the Raging Bull. Jimmy gave him a "you know that's right, daddy" and headed to the ring. The Spoiler (w/JJ Dillon) won by countout over Jimmy Valiant.Another hard fought contest. Valiant controlled the pace for most of the match, but Spoiler got his shots in. At the end Spoiler tossed Jimmy out of the ring and had the referee distracted so JJ Dillon could get some stiff kicks in. Valiant brushed them off, turned wild eyes to JJ, and chased him clear out of the arena and to the back. The referee had no choice but to count Jimmy out and award the match to Spoiler. (AKA creative booking of the "12" on the out of the ring chart) Back from the break, David Crockett announced that Dan "The Beast" Severn was about to make his wrestling debut on the show and brought out United States title challenger Bob Backlund to provide expert commentary and analysis. Bob said he's got his mind on Masked Superstar and the US title later tonight, but as a former collegiate champion he is interested in seeing what a man with the amateur wrestling and fighting credentials of Dan Severn can do in the rings of the NWA. Dan The Beast Severn demolished Bob Cook in about a minute and won via ARM BAR. Severn showcased a few big suplexes then wasted no time locking in the arm bar for the quick submission. After the match Severn refused to release the arm bar despite the referee's warnings. Bob Backlund jumped in the ring and pulled Severn off of Cook before permanent damage could be done. The men had a standoff and Severn apologized, saying he lost control for a moment. Backlund nodded and turned his back to walk away. That's when Severn locked in a CHOKE SLEEPER on Backlund. Bob went down as referees jumped in the ring to try to pull Severn off of him. Dan finally released the hold but the damage was done and Bob had to be helped to the back. After the video, Tony annoucned that THE PATRIOT has undergone successful triceps surgery and is on his road to recovery and BACK to the rings of the National Wrestling Alliance. Johnny Saint (w/Adrian Street watching from his corner) defeated Rock Riddle (w/Lenny Lane) via the THREE IN ONE.Rock looked to be on the verge of winning after wearing down Saint with that figure four cobra sleeper, but Saint made his comeback and locked in the three in one for the victory as Adrian Street watched to make sure Lenny Lane would not intervene. Once again after the match Saint seemed perplexed by Street showing up in his corner to watch his back. Street left without addressing the issue once again. Tony Schivone announced that it's main event time, but after the heinous attack by Dan Severn, Bob Backlund has NOT been cleared to wrestle. JJ Dillon and US champion Masked Superstar came out to gloat and Dillon demanded Superstar be announced as winner by forfeit. TOMMY RICH entered the scene at that point. He said the fans came to see a US title match and Dan Severn ruined that. But they can still see a fight if Masked Superstar wants to drag himself in the ring and do what he gets paid to do, and that's wrestle. Dillon did not go for that, saying Rich was trying to "hot shot" himself into the US title picture. Rich told him Wildfire is hot and maybe he is afraid Superstar will get burned. Dillon went to punch Rich, but Rich blocked and floored JJ with a right uppercut. Masked Superstar attacked after that and the two fought their way to the ring. The unsanctioned match between Tommy Rich and Masked Superstar ended in a no contest.Rich had Superstar rocked with a flurry of punches and a big right uppercut. Superstar retreated to the floor, but Rich went out and threw him back into the ring. Superstar made his comeback as JJ DIllon picked himself up off the floor and went to ringside. He slid a foreign object into the ring and Superstar used it to load the mask. He gave Rich a loaded mask head butt, rolled out of the ring, grabbed the US title belt, and left the building as Rich staggered to his feet. The show ended with a now bloody faced Tommy Rich in the ring and ready to continue the fight as the fans chanted "Tommy! Tommy! Tommy!"

NWA Worldwide. Lazy version, beucause the entire thing I JUST TYPED into this thread got lost!!!!!! In Philadelphia, 2 Cold Scorpio defeated Nova with the DISS THAT DON'T MISS.Nova's pin went all the way up to 11 before he finally stayed down in a great match. In Minnesota, Baron Von Raschke and Pampero Firpo beat Buddy Rose and Doug Somers.Somers and Rose jump started the match, but Firpo and Baron got the win when Rascke beat SOmers via the CLAW. Marc Lowerance talked to Brickhouse Brown in Texas. He challenged Big Bully Busick to a Texas Death Match without Tony Clifton at ringside. Then the action went to the ring for another match in the Texas TV title tournament. Don Curtis defeated Cowboy Scott Casey.A very fine match ended when Curtis put together a nice series of moves and got the pin after a dropkick. In Florida, the stipulations were established that if the Fantastics win the upcoming match then Malia Hosaka gets a match with Jim Cornette at a later date. The Fantastics beat Midnight Express via disqualification. In the end the action went to the floor. Cornette tossed Eaton the tennis racquet and Bobby used it on ROgers. Dennis got a chair and hit Fulton over the head. Cornette pulled out a powdery substance from his jacket pocket and threw it in Hosaka's eyes. Security had to pull Jim and Express away, but the damage was done. In a post match interview, Cornette said everyone needed a reminder that the Express aren't just good, they're dangerous. And Hosaka will get her reminder that women belong anywhere but a wrestling ring and he doesn't want to see any tears when he's done putting her in her place. Bill Apter welcomned NWA world champion NICK BOCKWINKEL to the HOT SEAT. He said the NWA board of directors had determined that JACK BRISCO would be the challenger for the upcoming title defense in Atlanta. Nick laughed and smirked that the NWA thinks they have him backed against the wall, putting him against golden hero Jack in his own backyard. But they underestimate the mind and prowess of the greatest world champion this or any other sport has ever seen, Nick Bockwinkel. Harley Race defeated The Destroyer after a pildriver. Spectacular match with world title ramifications. Race travelled all the way to California to assert his superiority and make sure nobody forgets his name in the world title picture with a win over one of the best in the world.

NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING with your hosts, Tony Schiavone and David Crockett Tony and David did the show open and welcomed Magnum TA. Magnum said he's going into the Omni in Atlanta in a short while and he is fighting for his very existence in the NWA when he meets Tully Blanchard in an I quit match. Magnum said he's never quit anything before and he's not about to start. Magnum added that he refuses to look past Tully Blanchard, because that could be a fatal mistake, but Nick Bockwinkel and Masked Superstar had better hold their title belts close because Magnum TA is coming for them. Magnum TA defeated Bruiser Costa with the BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX.A quick highlight match for Magnum, as he got in, got the win, and got out quickly.JOHNNY SAINT joined Tony and David to talk about the recent happenings with Adrian Street. He said he doesn't know what Street's game is, but he wants him out there to answer questions. Street appeared and Saint told him he doesn't care what the angle is, he's not teaming up with Street to go after the Road Warriors. Adrian told Saint "don't be silly" and said even though the talent is there, the chemistry simply does not exist because they just do not like each other. He only wanted to protect Saint so when he pins him in the middle of the ring there will be no excuses. Adrian continued by saying "in actual fact, I DO have a tag team partner. And together we will defeat the Road Warriors and wins the gold my waist so richly deserves to wear". With that, HUGH MORRUS rushed out and attacked Saint from behind. He tossed Saint into the ring and the next match began. Exotic Adrian Street (w/Hugh Morrus) defeated Johnny Saint via CRUCIFIX.Street started with the advantage due to the blindside attack, but Saint fought back. He had the THREE IN ONE locked in, but Morrus got on the apron. Saint released the hold and hit Hugh Morrus with a hard forearm shot, but Adrian came up from behind with the Crucifix hold for the pin. The Rock N Roll Express won by disqualification over The Moondogs when Eddie Gilbert interferred.Moondogs started out manhandling the Express, but Ricky and Robert can brawl too and came back with fists flying. A great match ensued until Ricky and Robert hit Rex with the DOUBLE DROPKICK and Eddie Gilbert came in with the bone to hit Ricky over the head and cause the disqualification. After the break, Tony and David were joined by GERALD BRISCO. Brisco said what happened between Dan Severn and Bob Backlund last week was a travesty. Severn is too good to be taking cheap shots like that and if he wants to make a name for himself there's better ways to do it, and he can start in the ring against Brisco tonight. Jerry was joined by brother JACK BRISCO, who said he's got a world title match coming in the Omni, but he's here to support his brother tonight because Dan Severn is good and he's dangerous. If he wants to take a cheap shot again he'd better be ready to give as good as he gets. The Spoiler (w/JJ Dillon) defeated Manny Fernandez thanks to the help of Dillon.Great bout. Manny seemed to have it won after the FLYING BURRITO, but Dillon had the referee distracted. Manny grabbed Dillon by the collar, and JJ dropped something into the ring. Spoiler grabbed it and used it to hit Manny and get the pin. After the bout Spoiler was putting the boots to Manny when Jimmy Valiant ran out to make the save. Jimmy helped Manny to his feet, but Manny shoved him away and asked "where were you when I needed you DURING the match?" Jimmy tried to calm Manny as the two walked back to the locker room. TOMMY "WILDFIRE" RICH entered the scene to talk to Tony and David. Rich said that what we just saw is what he intends to put a stop to at the Omni, because he's got the US title match with Masked Superstar and it's time to take care of business. JJ Dillon won't catch him off guard this time, Rich continued, and he warned that he's have his own protection in place to make sure the match goes down the way it should. Dan "The Beast" Severn defeated Jerry Brisco via ARM BAR.Jerry had the early advantage and woked on the leg before locking in the FIGURE FOUR. Severn managed to reach the ropes. Eventually the Beast used his size advantage to take control and used a barrage of brutal suplexes before locking in the ARM BAR for the win. JACK BRISCO hit the ring immediately after the bell to make sure Severn broke the hold. The Beast rolled off and had a staredown with Jack as the show ended.
