Jack vs Severn is one I haven't run yet but now feel is a must to do. .... Severn was an all time great in amateur wrestling and MMA, but not the best pro style wrester. I figure Jack or Backlund would be ideal for giving him his best pro match. So that's the thinking here. I just really like the guy and want to use his card the best way possible.

Clash Of The Championslive from the Omni in Atlanta, GA Hosts Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross opened the show in standard fashion. Rock N Roll Express defeated The West Hollywood Blondes in a super quick match.Lenny made the mistake of attacking at the bell, but Robert immediately reversed and sent him down with a knee lift. The RnR used the double dropkick but Rock Riddle jumped Robert. Ricky sent Riddle out of the ring and then used a top rope punch on Lenny for the win in under a minute. JIMMY VALIANT joined GORDON SOLIE in the backstage area to talk about his upcoming match. Spoiler and Grappler attacked. Grappler held Jimmy and Spoiler reared back for a loaded punch. Jimmy ducked and Spoiler nailed Grappler instead. Jimmy took down Spoiler and fought with Grappler to the ring. Jimmy Valiant defeated The Grappler with the BOOGIE WOOGIE ELBOW.Another super fast match, as Jimmy started strong and won with the elbow in mere seconds. TULLY BLANCHARD and MELINA were in the back with Gordon. They cut the standard heel promo about the upcoming I quit match with Magnum TA. The Moondogs (w/Eddie Gilbert) defeated Thunderbolt Patterson and Ranger Ross.Patterson was without his regular partner Jerry Brisco, and the Moondogs took advantage of the lack of teamwork to get a hard fought win. Rex pinned Ross after the MOONDOG SPLASH. Gordon talked with Eddie and The Moondogs after the match. Solie questioned the absence of John Mantell yet again and asked if Eddie had "usurped the leadership roll of the team". Eddie got mad and grabbed Solie by the collar, but the ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS came to the rescue to fight with Gilbert and the Moondogs as security scrambled to break it up. Bob Backlund defeated Dan Severn after an ATOMIC DROP.Severn nearly won with the ARM BAR a few times, but Bob kept fighting back. Finally Bob used the ATOMIC DROP for the pin. Tony interviewed Magnum TA about the impending I quit match. Standard determind good guy interview stuff. Magnum TA defeated Tully Blanchard in an I Quit Match. This was a Texas Death style I quit, not the cage version (you know, for the sake of originality). Both men wore the crimson mask and the bout went nearly twenty minutes. Finally Magnum threw Tully back into the ring and snatched a chair out of Melina's hands. He bashed Tully in the leg repeatedly, then used a figure four for the five letters, two words finish. Before the United States title match Tommy Rich announced that THE PATRIOT had returned and would be in his corner for the match.
Wildfire Tommy Rich defeated Masked Superstar (w/JJ Dillon) to win the US championship. Superstar started strong as always, but Tommy would made his big comeback. He peppered Superstar with punches and got the WILDFIRE SLEEPER. Superstar escaped. After some more action Rich hit the THESZ PRESS. JJ got on the apron to interfere but was pulled away by Patriot and Rich got the victory.
Jim Ross greeted the new US champion in the back after the match. He congratulated Rich and Tommy was doing the typical babyface victory speech when MANNY FERNANDEZ came onto the scene. Manny said congrats, then added that there are a whole lot of people lining up for their shot, people who have been here longer and done more, including Manny Fernandez. Rich said he'd be ready for anybody and Manny replied "you'd better hope so".
Nick Bockwinkel defeated Jack Brisco to defend the NWA world championship. Nick got the arm bar on the initial lockup, but Jack countered and hit some deep arm drags followed by a kneebreaker. An airplane spin was blocked and Nick took over. After many minutes of nice action Nick got the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER . Jack could not counter and fell to the champion.

BOCKwinkel wasn't chicken and bested Brisco.....Boogie Woogie Man keeps on rolling, and how 'bout them moondogs!!!! Good stuff!! ........ Booking a game where the winners and losers are decided by the dice and not the pencil requires a different tactic. If you'll notice I had Severn set up to challenge Brisco if he beat Bock, but I've got Backlund and Rich set up as challengers if Bock retained. Valiant will always be the mainstay of the territory whom the non-title feuds revolve around. Moondogs are of course transitioning into that feud with the Rock N Roll Express so I can kick both of those teams into a featured position.

NWA Worldwide w/ Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle Gordon: "Hot on the heels of the big Clash Of The Champions in Atlanta where NWA world champion Nick Bockwinkel retained in the rematch with challenger Jack Brisco, we have an exciting episode of Worldwide on deck." Bob: "And we start off in Charlotte, where Adrian Street leads his new tag team partner Hugh Morrus into action against Johnny Saint and his partner for the evening, Ron Hutchison." The Merchants Of Menace, Adrian Street and Hugh Morrus defeated Johnny Saint and Ron Hutchison.Saint and Hutchison were a makeshift team and did not work smoothly together. Saint had his offense, and Ron got in a little bit as wel, but in the end Street took down Hutchison and tagged out to Morrus for NO LAUGHING MATTER and the pin. Bob: "I don't know if we've seen the last of the hostilities between Street and Saint, but I do know that every tag team in the NWA had better be on notice because the Merchants Of Menace look tough." Gordon: "Indeed. Standing by is Bill Apter with a special Hot Seat interview with JJ Dillon." In the Hot Seat, Bill Apter got right to the point stating that JJ's men had a horrible showing at the Clash. Grappler lost in quick fashion to his rival Jimmy Valiant after a miscue with Spoiler and Masked Superstar lost the United States title to Tommy Rich. Dillon said people may think the Masked Assassins are down and out, but they're not. He promised they have a few more tricks up their sleeves and when the dust clears you will see them rise to heights you never thought possible. Gordon: "JJ Dillon will not be deterred by one bad outing, it seems. And now we turn to the sunshine state where Malia Hosaka gets her promised match with Jim Cornette." Bob: "Cornette was confident last week after his team lost, saying he wanted to put Hosaka back in her place in the kitchen and away from the ring. But I'm not so sure he knows what he's getting into. Let's take a look at the footage and see what went down in this big encounter." Malia Hosaka defeated Jim Cornette via pinfall.Jim tried to use his weight to push Malia around, but Hosaka came back with a big spin kick and a frankensteiner for a near fall. She went to the top rope, but Dennis Condrey held onto her leg so Cornette could recover and slam her off the top. As he put the boots to her the Fantastics came out to fight the Midnight Express at ringside. Hosaka made her comeback and got the pin. Bob: "Things sure didn't work out the way Jim Cornette intended there, and I doubt we've seen the last of the feud between the Fantastics and the Midnight Express." Gordon: "And onto Texas, where we will see another bout in the TV title tournament when Big Bully Busick took on Wild Bull Curry." Wild Bull Curry won by disqualification over Big Bully Busick (w/Tony Clifton)Hard hitting, hard nosed action here. In the end Busick tossed Curry out of the ring and the two began to brawl. Busick grabbed the burlap bag of coins Clifton was holding and smashed Curry over the head to draw the disqualification. After the bell Busick continued to beat on Curry until BRICKHOUSE BROWN came down to make the save. Busick and Clifton headed to the locker rooms and Brown grabbed the mic. He once again challenged Busick to a Texas Death match. Gordon: "Things are heating up in Texas for sure. Brickhouse Brown has established himself as one of the most popular wrestlers in the area in short order, and if he can get rid of that vermin Clifton then I'm sure his place at the top of the order will be cemented." Bob: "And speaking of the top of the order, we take another special look at the team a lot of experts are calling the uncrowned world tag team champions in Stan Lane and Steve Keirn, the Fabulous Ones." Bob: "And now action from St Paul Minnesota, as the Fabulous Ones do battle with the Long Riders." Gordon: "And be aware of NWA world tag team champions manager Precious Paul Ellering providing special guest commentary on the match." The Fabulous Ones beat the Long Riders when Steve pinned Scott Irwin.A great tag team match ended when Steve got the tag in and hit Scott with the FABULOUS FOREARM for the pin. Following the match Steve and Stan talked with Larry Nelson at ringside. They said the tag team champions are in their sites. Precious Paul stepped in and said if they think they are in the class of Hawk and Animal they are sadly mistaken, but any time they feel ready they can step up and do things "the easy way or the hard way". Steve said they always choose the hard way and Stan said Hawk and Animal are big and impressive, but they're not Fabulous. Gordon: "Shots fired in Minnesota, to be sure. When that match takes place attendance records will be set, I'm sure of it." Bob: "Once again we head to California for the main event, where Killer Kowalski tackles Bobo Brazil." Killer Kowalski defeated Bobo Brazil via KOWALSKI CLAW. Bobo and Kowalski fought tooth and nail. The action spilled to the arena floor, where Killer nailed Bobo with a chair. Brazil rolled in and fell victim to the Claw.

TEXAS WRESTLING from the world famous Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas Brickhouse Brown defeated Barry Horowitz in a solid opening contest.Barry is new to Texas and was looking to make a name for himself. He gave Brown all he could handle but in the end Brickhouse hit the FLYING BODYPRESS for the win. Marc Lowrance interviewed Brickhouse at ringside after the match. Brown said he hasn't forgotten the way he got robbed in the Texas TV title tournament and Big Bully Busick and Tony Clifton haven't seen the last of him by a longshot. Tugboat and Chaz Taylor defeated Dick Hart and Bill Tyler. This was a showcase match for the Taylor family, who had little trouble with the upstart tag team. Tug got the pin after a big shoulder breaker on Hart. Scott Casey pinned Big Bully Busick (w/Toy Clifton) after a power slam.
Busick dominated the match until Brickhouse came down to ringside to join the commentary team. Clifton got distracted jawing with Brown, and Casey took over on his protege. Scott Casey used a power slam and Cliton was too busy to interfere, cleading to the pin. An irate Clifton spoke at ringside after the bout. Don Curtis defeated Wild Bill White to advance to the finals in the Texas TV title tournament.White brought his rugged "A" game to the match, but the finesse of Curtis won the night. Curtis used his dreaded SLEEPER to secure the victory. After the match Curtis spoke at ringside. He said the finals are set and it's him and Bull Curry to decide the championship. Curtis said Bull and he have been both partners and adversaries in the past and he just hopes it is a clean contest that can be decided in the middle of the ring, and may the best man win.

It's THE CWA (Continental Wrestling Association) with your host, Lance Ruseell
Lance opened the show with a rundown of the action scheduled for the evening, including a big AWA SOUTHERN HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH between challenger Dutch Mantel and champion Austin Idol, the lynchpin of Jimmy Hart's First Family. And to kick things off, a video highlighting the team that has been traveling all over the country, the most in demand duo in pro wrestling and some would say the uncrowned tag team champions, proteges of Jackie Fargo who will be making their way BACK to CWA next week, Steve and Stan The FABULOUS ONES. PG-13 won the opening contest against upstarts Johnny and Chad, the Goodtime Boys.Johnny and Chad got some surprise offense on Wolfie, but he shut them down and tagged JC Ice for the HOOD DROP and the win. Lance welcomed JACKIE FARGO. Lance said Jackie was getting ready to face "Hitman" Doug Gilbert who, along with Tommy Gilbert, has been up to no good since arriving on the scene. Jackie said he'd handle that business in a moment but he first wanted to mention how proud he is of Steve and Stan for carrying the Fabulous tradition like they have so far and he'll be glad to see them right here next week. Fabulous Jackie Fargo won by disqualification over Hitman Doug Gilbert when Tommy interferred.Doug started the match quick, but Fargo took over after blocking an reverse atomic drop. Fargo used a flurry of punches and his own ATOMIC DROP before going for the pin. Tommy Gilbert jumped into the ring and stomped Fargo, then he and Doug proceeded to double team Fargo. Jackie tried to mount a comeback but the two-on-one attack was too much and he was pounded mercilessly until referees and wrestlers could break it up. Lance was voicing his disappointment over what had just been witnessed when JIMMY HART and his bodyguard OX BAKER came out to interrupt. Jimmy said this week Austin Idol was going to show Dutch Mantel why it was a bad idea to challenge the champ, but looking forward to next week the newest member of the First Family will be returning from New York to stake his claim as the best high flying acrobatic wrestler in the area and that Bill Dundee is a leadfoot by comparison. Superstar Bill Dundee defeated Randy Rose via Indian Deathlock.Rose put up a solid fight, but Dundee was too agile and tenacious. Lance introduced a pre-recorded message from NWA WORLD CHAMPION NICK BOCKWINKEL. Nick said the CWA should be proud to have a champion like Austin Idol but when the world champion is "forced to return to Memphis again" they will see the pinnacle of pro wrestling perfection. Nick stated that with heroes like Dutch MantelL around the fans could definitely use a touch of class the likes of which only Nick Bockwinkel can provide. Austin Idol defeated Dutch Mantell to defend the AWA Southern Heavyweight Title. This was a heated main event. Dutch controlled much of the match, with Idol getting some quick offense in when he could find an opening. The action spilled to the floor where Dutch was distracted by Jimmy Hart. Idol took advantage and clipped Dutch's knee from behind. He tossed Dutch back into the ring and slapped on the LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK. MantelL would not submit, but his shoulders finally fell to the mat as he was ready to pass out from the pain, forcing the referee to count the pin. Idol, Hart, and Ox went over to Lance to celebrate the victory. Idol stated that Idolmania continues to run wild and Hart said Dutch tried his hardest but he came up "a little lame". Dutch limped over, bullwhip in hand, and told Lance there wasn't going to be any trouble on his end right now but Hart and his men haven't seen the last of him by a longshot. Dutch cracked the whip and Ox Baker stepped in between Mantell and Jimmy Hart. Dutch said he's glad one of the three has some guts, so why doesn't Ox come back here next week and prove it in the ring. Jimmy accepted on behalf of his charge and Lance tried his best to close the show amidst the excitement.
