THEEEEE MOTHERSHIIIIIIP! NWA World Championship Wrestling Saturday at 6:05PM (EST) with your hosts Tony and David Tony and David started the show and welcomed The Patriot. Patriot said in two matches now nothing got settled between Nikita Koloff and him and tonight he wants to change that. The first time was a ridiculous disqualification and then when they were opposite sides of a tag team match they never even touched. Ivan Koloff entered the scene with his protege Redd Dogg. Ivan said Patriot will regret issuing the challenge because that red, white, and blue mask he wears will be Russian red when nephew Nikita is done with him. But now, Redd Dogg has a match to display the benefits of superior Russian training. Redd Dogg (w/Ivan Koloff) defeated George South in short order.South ducked a running double axe handle early and got in a few moves, but quickly got shut down and pinned after a BLACKOUT. Rock N Roll Express defeated Dirty Frank Dalton and Lenny Lane. The makeshift duo of Dalton and Lane did well for themselves but Ricky and Robert used superior teamwork and double teaming to tip the odds in their favor. The end came when Robert pinned Lane after the DOUBLE DROPKICK. After the match Ricky and Robert spoke with Tony. Ricky said the Moondogs' new manager Rock Riddle tried to jump his team ahead in the line for a tag team title match last week, and sure enough it worked. But everyone knows who is ahead in the series between the Moondogs and the RnR and it's not even close. Robert said the Dogs sure do go through a lot of managers, and that's because they can't be controlled...except in the ring by Ricky and Robert. NWA world champion Nick Bockwinkel entered the scene and congratulated the Express on a "fine little win". He then told them to "run along because the adults have things to discuss". Ricky got in his face and said he'd better watch his step or the tag team title gold may not be the only belt in his sight. Nick smiled and made a condescending apology as the RnR left the scene. Nick said he's here to watch number one contender Bob Backlund up close against a "specially selected warm-up opponent of the champions choosing, Crazy Bruiser Costa. Bob Backlund defeated Bruiser Costa with a Boston Crab.Bockwinkel made his way to ringside for the match and gave Costa instructions several times. Costa laid into Backlund with bites and chokes and seemed intent on hurting the number one contender rather than winning. In the end Backlund overcame the tactics and got the submission win. Bockwinkel jumped in the ring after the match and hit Backlund in the back with the title belt. The champ exclaimed "If you want something done right, you have to do it youtself" before tossing Costa out of the ring. He then picked up Backlund and delivered a brutal piledriver in the middle of the ring before picking his belt back up, fixing his hair, and leaving the ring with a smirk on his face. Manny Fernandez and Jimmy Valiant were up next after the break. Jimmy said things are copacetic between the Boogie Man and the Bull right now and they're ready to go to battle with Grappler and Masked Superstar II next. Manny said he knows he's let his temper get the best of him lately, he's frustrated because they should have been tag team champions by now and then Tommy Rich came right in and got the US title ahead of everyone. BUT he said he wants to prove himself tonight. Masked Superstar II is big and bad, but we don't know how bad because JJ Dillon has been hiding him in tag team matches. So Manny wants the match changed to one on one, Bull against the big man. JJ and his men were already standing in the ring and JJ agreed. Raging Bull Manny Fernandez defeated Masked Superstar II after his second FLYING BURRITO. II charged Manny at the bell but Fernandez hit him with a back elbow smash and then a FLYING BURRITO! Superstar kicked out a "1"! Superstar quickly recovered and just brutalized Manny with pummeling forearm smashes and head butts for several minutes. Just when Manny seemed to be in real trouble he ducked a clothesline, scoop slammed the Big man, and then hit a second FLYING BURRITO for the pin. Dillon was beside himself with anger after the decision. He jumped in the ring and FIRED Superstar II on the spot as the big man struggled to get to his feet. Superstar II grabbed JJ by the throat with both hands and lifted him high overhead. Suddenly Grappler, Spoiler, and the returning MASKED SUPERSTAR hit the ring and attacked II. After the beatdown Superstar said II wasn't worthy to wear the mask and tore it off his head, revealing Giant Ron Reis! AKA Big Ron Studd! (wait, who did you think it was?) JJ and his team left and the big man was helped out of the ring. Magnum TA joined Tony and David next and said it's good to be back and walking upright after the heinous attack of Ivan and Nikita a few weeks back. He promised to be in the corner of Patriot in the upcoming main event to make sure what happened to him and Ross doesn't happen to Patriot. The Patriot won by disqualification over Nikita Koloff.Hard hitting action saw the end come when Patriot used the PATRIOT MISSILE and got a near fall. Nikita got right up and took a wild swing, missing and getting turned around into the UNCLE SLAM for his effort. Patriot covered and Ivan jumped in the ring to break it up and cause the disqualification. Magnum immediately hit the ring to with a steel folding chair to chase away the Russians. An intense Patriot joined the broadcast team to close the show. "THREE TIMES NOW WITH THE NONSENSE! I WANT A CLEAR CUT WIN AND I WANT IT IN A STEEL CAGE! WATTS, YOU'RE LISTENING. MAKE IT HAPPEN!"
(note: did you guys see how much use I got out of Promoter Prime 2015 in one show? That's a great undercard filling set!)

CWA with your host, Lance Russell Lance introduced the show and said "it's been such a nice, quiet evening in the back because Jimmy Hart has been BANNED from the building after last week's happenings. And his men will have to go it alone, including this opening match between Tracy Smothers and the up enforcer Ox Baker." Ox Baker beat Tracy Smothers with the HEART PUNCH.Smothers had Ox rocking and reeling but got caught in a bear hug. He tried to fight out of it but Ox hit him with the heart punch for the pin. Ox went to continue his attack after the bell, but DUTCH MANTELL ran out with his trusty bullwhip to send Ox fleeing. Dutch's opponent rushed the ring and the next bout got underway. Dutch Mantell beat Lanny Poffo after an atomic drop and pin.Lanny poured on the offense early, but Dutch took over and got the pin in a five minute affair. Lance welcomed THE FABULOUS ONES to the interview area. Steve said they were so happy to come back to Memphis and help out their mentor Fabulous Jackie Fargo against the Gilberts but now they need to laser focus on the tag team titles and the Road Warrirors. PG-13 came out and JC said the Fabs could keep dreaming but all PG-13 needs is one shot and you're looking at the real and uncrowned champions. Stan said there's one way to settle this and Steve and he headed to the ring. The Fabulous Ones defeated PG-13 after the DOUBLE DDT on JC Ice.PG-13 gave it all they had, but Steve and Stan had just a little bit more and came out on top in a tremendous tag team match. Champion AUSTIN IDOL came out to talk to Lance before the main event. He said he wanted to make sure everyone knew who the champion is and who can handle himseld with or without Jimmy at ringside. Austin said the number one contender battle royal is coming to the Nashville Fairgrounds next week but it doesn't matter who wins because there is only one Universal Hearthrob and you're looking at him. Austin Idol defeated Bill Dundee with the LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK after a dubious sequence outside of the ring.Dundee overcame the size disadvantage and used his speed and savvy to come close to beating the champ. However, the action spilled out of the ring, where a strange old lady with a shawl, wig, and beard distracted Dundee. Idol took advantage and knocked Superstar into the ring post before throwing him back into the ring and using the leglock for the win. Lance yelled for someone to stop that old lady, but "she" took off in a full-on spring and headed out of the door before anyone could get close. Lance said he knows that was Jimmy Hart and one way or another Hart and his army will pay.

It's SATURDAY NIGHT w/ Tony and David Ranger Ross defeated Bill Howard* with a cross body block. The opening contest was dominated by journeyman Howard, but Ross fought back and blocked a big right hand punch then countered with a suplex and cross body for the pin. Following the match PATRIOT and Ross joined Tony and David. Tony congratualted Ross on the win and they talked about the Russians. Patriot said the challenge stands but Koloff hasn't answered: he wants Nikita in a cage. IVAN KOLOFF entered the picture and said cages are for animals and if Patriot wants to test himself he can have his match with Nikita IN A RUSSIAN CHAIN MATCH. Patriot agreed and said they can do it at the Omni. MAGNUM TA entered the fray and said that's all fine and good, but Ivan can go ahead and step in the ring later tonight, and when he does he'll get more of the same from when THEY had that Russian chain match last year. An angry Ivan said he'd be in the ring later tonight and Magnum will regret his words. The Moondogs (w/Rock Riddle) defeated Vernon Deaton and Tommy Angel.A showcase match for the Moondogs, who dominated and easily won. The end came after a shoulder breaker on Angel from Rex. After the bout Ricky and Robert talked with Tony and David. Ricky said that was a nice win, but the Express still owns the Moondogs in the record books. He said the Road Warriors are ducking the Rock n Roll Express and chose to face the Moondogs instead. PAUL ELLERING made his way to the broadcast area and said the Road Warriors duck nobody and they face all challenges. In fact, they are in the building yet again and they will offer the Express the same opportunity at destruction the Moondogs got a few weeks ago. With that, HAWK and ANIMAL jumped Ricky and Robert and threw them into the ring. The Rock N Roll Express won by disqualification over the Road Warriors in a NWA tag team title match when the Moondogs interferred. This was one of the best tag team matches I've rolled in a while. Perfectly played with Ricky in trouble until the hot tag to Robert. There was a DOUBLE DROPKICK for a near fall, but the Moondogs ran in and attacked. The ref called for the bell and the Warriors fought off Rex and Spot.
Following the match the Warriors and Ellering spoke with Tony and David. Ellering said it's not nice to mess with the Legion Of Doom and if the Moondogs want to play he will smack them on the nose with his Wall Street Journal like the bad puppies they are. Hawk said he had an even better idea and wants a tag team title three way match at the Omni with the Express and the Moondogs. Magnum TA defeated Ivan Koloff.Really great match. Magnum had Ivan in trouble when Nikita jumped on the apron. Magnum and Nikita exchanged words as Ivan recovered and went for a running knee on Magnum from behind. TA moved and Ivan hit Nikita instead. Magnum rolled up Ivan and got the pin. After the match Ivan and Nikita jumped Magnum and were laying in the double team beatdown until The Patriot and Ranger Ross ran out to make the save. After the break US champ TOMMY RICH joined Tony and David. He said Jimmy Valiant is getting ready to face Masked Superstar and Manny Fernandez is in Jimmy's corner, but while Manny says he's watching out for Jimmy Tommy will be there to keep an eye on Manny because he still doesn't trust him. Jimmy Valiant defeated Masked Superstar after Tommy Rich stopped JJ Dillon from interferring.Boogie Woogie had the match in hand with the SLEEPER when JJ jumped on the apron. Tommy ran over from the commentary area to pull JJ off the apron as Jimmy got the win. After the match Tommy and Manny had a shoving match again, with Jimmy breaking it up. Jimmy went over to Tony and David and said it's like watching his brothers fight, but the only way to solve it is to let them go. Manny and Tommy agreed to a US title match at the Omni to settle their differences once and for all. * Bill Howard in his human persona. He was also known as the devastating demon Ratamyus in Poffo's ICW. Card found here: www.angelfire.com/wrestling3/legendarystars/ratamyus.pdf

Valiant against Superstar with Rich is such a perfect Memphis style match. Nice to see the Moondogs win and shame the Express got robbed of the belts.

Valiant against Superstar with Rich is such a perfect Memphis style match. Nice to see the Moondogs win and shame the Express got robbed of the belts. .... I'm really going against my 80s style doing a three way for the tag belts, but the Warriors have had these things since November 2020! Maybe this will shake things up. I'm a major Road Warriors fan, but sometimes you need a change. These guys are hard to book!

It does remind you why they rarely booked the Roadies as champions...mostly because of how hard it would be to take the belts off them.
